Rights will help a lot because most people listen to the law. It's in your system to not break it. That's why laws are, they work… At least in the open. So I believe even if laws and rights about harrassing pedophiles maybe wouldn't make people love you more they would be more cautious and afraid of consequences if they treat you like shit.
