Right on. Has anyone read Moral Panic by Philip Jenkins or Harmful to Minors by Judith Levine? Both make great arguments for decriminalizing most CP and focusing on more effective ways to protect children.

Sadly most cries for sanity and reason fall on deaf ears which is why nothing gets fixed. Years ago Larry Flynt said at a Congressional hearing that most of the letters he received included requests for pictures of children (no wonder Barely Legal was always his best seller). When he offered to donate all of his future profits from Hustler to combat child abuse and exploitation nobody seemed to care.

Those in power don't care about protecting anyone. They only want to stay in power so they can tax us, condemn us, and lock up as many peaceful non-violent citizens as possible. When they're all voted out maybe we can start over with a system that makes sense. Until then it's all talk, but at least a lot more people are starting to wake up.

Normies these days see any guy older than their daughter as someone who preying on them. Which is probably one reason why relationships and marriages are so fucked nowadays. Having an older male in the relationship to take charge and keep stability have proven to produce the most functional and long lasting relationships. The reason it is frowned upon in our culture now is because feminism and progressive gender politics push for "equality" in relationships. Having an age gap of anything more than a couple years would give way too much power to the man.

Our society in the past 50 years has developed this strange phobia and taboo of age differences in relationships. This is largely due to the rise of feminism and the way it has created this ubiquitous distrust of men and a desire to destroy any semblance of male dominated relationships.

You will notice in media that depictions of women with young boys/teens is not nearly as condemned as when the genders are swapped. That is because it gives women more power in a relationship. Males are being conditioned to be betas, manginas, and cucks, who want an older busty mother figure to baby them. A 20 year old guy and a 13 year old girl would be a feminist's worst nightmare, because it would almost guarantee that the man would be established as the leader of the household, as he rightfully should be. And that just isnt politically correct today. Men are being conditioned to desire to be the sub in a relationship. So the prospect of having that kind of responsibility makes them sick.

That is my theory on why society made such a rapid and radical shift in the latter half of the 20th century.

Before pedos can begin to be accepted, they'll need to show that adult-child sex is not inherently harmful. They'll need to identify the confounding factors that separate the harmful cases from the non-harmful cases.

While normies are becoming more sympathetic towards pedophiles I can't see them accepting pedos as anything other than people with a disease without that core discovery.

It would be akin to tolerating homosexuality while accepting buggery as something harmful.

Very much this. Most didn't have first-hand experience as a child. Most probably never witnessed CP. So they have a lot of imagining to do to fill in the blanks. Those blanks get filled in by their expectations and their expectations are guided by their experiences.
