The crime of luring a minor specifically requires that the person is asking the kid to have sex with him or be talking about sex in general and then asking to meet up. He isn't just some innocent guy if he was charged with that.

In my country people get (inofficially, but for all practical purposes) charged with "Resistance against arrest" as soon as they press any charges against the police.

We don't know what was said in this "chat room". I find the whole idea of "undercover" (lol, he is at a computer, where is this undercover? it is just a nickname) sting operation concept wrong.

We don't know if he approached this fake child or if he was approached. The last one would IMO be incitement and invalidate his hypothetical crime.
