>>468I wasn't really referring to her becoming a splashy, publicity-hungry celebrity or becoming a part of the A-list party circuit. I was more referring to her capitalizing on her current fame and popularity so that she could become financial secure and never have to worry about money or being forced to do work she doesn't enjoy just to pay her bills. So after she retires, she could just relax at the beach all day, raise some kids, become a coach or do whatever she wants.
I get your point though. She probably doesn't want to do a lot of the things which could make her money because she'd be forced into awkward social situations she doesn't enjoy. However, there are still ways to make money without having to do anything social like book deals or wearing something with a corporate logo on it. I realize some people criticize that as "selling out" or degrading oneself, but personally I don't think signing a book deal or wearing a hat with a Nike logo is degrading and is a fair trade-off for financial freedom and security.
Of course, it's entirely her decision to do whatever she wants with her life and public image.
