Just for fun, I've decided to start a project that I plan to work on between now and the next Winter Olympics. It will be an opportunity for Yulia fans to give her a special gift which will both let her know how loved and appreciated she is, and also possibly help her achieve Olympic glory.
The idea is to design and manufacture custom skates for Yulia; specifically, with diamond-edged titanium blades; the finest, must supple and beautiful hand-crafted leather; gold-threaded silk laces; and other top quality construction materials necessary to make the finest pair of skates ever created.
This would be financed by fan donations via bitcoin, paypal, crowdfunding sources, etc. An attorney would be retained as an escrow agent to handle the finances to ensure funds are in a trusted account and disbursed properly. If and when the project should get to that point, all the information related to finances and other legalities would be publicly available via this thread.
As far as who would design and manufacture Yulia's skates, I am open to suggestions, but so far, my research has led to this company:
http://www.eclipsetitanium.com/Over time, if there is enough interest and commitment, and if additional funds are donated, I may even commission more projects, such as having Valentino Garavani design and make Yulia an outfit for the next Olympics as well as having David Mallet and Charlie Green do her hair and makeup for the event, respectively.
This will all cost a lot of money, of course, but life is too short not to think big and nothing is too good for our precious Yulia. :)
