You have to remember, Spink was also involved with the forums, zetaforum, zoophilesforum, even tried to go after beastforum. He's a scapegoat for a lof of other people's failures, and they used him as an excuse for a lot of what you see. Even if he is a piece of work.
Fjord was a drama fiend and zetaforum was packed with it and a lot of it fell right there in the open (but this is good!). He definitely was a control freak, and the Fausty episodes made it worse. The zetaforum folks were definitely more competent in ways than the zoophilesforum dimwits, and it could've been something, but they had awful judgment in people, that controlling mindset and couldn't handle their own drama. Fjord was losing his shit at the end. It's all so fucking needless.
Of course just like they did with Fausty the remaining forums use zetaforum's drama as another excuse for a perceived need for authoritarian management. Drama's actually healthy for a community, all you want is a small admin team that doesn't break under it. They all started or shaped-soon-after-they-started these communities with reactionary, polar wrong mindsets.
Of course egos play a large part.
