Yes, you'd be surprised the crazy shit (no pun intended) that exists in a canine's digestive tract and feces.

I WOULD be surprised, because I control literally all of what he eats. It's not like fucking a completely wild animal where he could be eating dead things, rotten things, diseased things, garbage, feces, etc. If my dog eats nothing but good quality kibble and fresh meat cuts, his digestive tract will be healthier than an average human's.

Neutered dogs are gentle. Most unneutered dogs, in my experience, are almost violent by comparison. But on the other hand, a lot of neutered dogs can't be convinced to mount/thrust no matter what you do.

If you're wanting to be on top with him it's best to start very very slow, preferably a little after he's relieved himself outside. He'll generally be pretty clean inside but you'll want to get rid of anything clinging outside, there usually isn't much and baby wipes work great.

Start with just touching and massaging his anus, lay on the praise and affection so he's comfortable with it. You actually might wanna keep to just that for a few days, building up to a well lubricated finger being eased in slowly. Again, lots of praise and affection and keep with just a finger for a good while. Once he seems comfortable start with one then slowly add a second finger, make sure he's not uncomfortable with it.

A few sessions of comfortably handling two well lubed fingers and you should be ok to try and penetrate him. Working up to this point should take a good two weeks or more. Remember, lots of lube and lots of praise/affection.
