Is zoophilesforum dead? They've been doing "server maintenance" for almost two days now.

 No.9662

I don't know. All I hope is it doesn't bring more of them here.

What's up with the userbase there?

bunch of old hags there anyway, that don't like new zoos... Also doesn't trust other members giving them how to better protect their site. Must be why its always down. Who cares if their site is down. I left that site a long time ago.

I browsed for a few years. The users aren't "bad people", mostly, but the main reason people go there is to shelter themselves. If you like sheltered people, it's the place for you. It changed a little since, but the thing was built to shelter people in the first place. It shows when you take a step back.

For some of them, that means it's the only type of site they browse, and their social exposure is limited, if you exclude facebook maybe. For some old guys, it's a way to try to keep a 90s to early 2000s long rotting mindset alive, that at best works akin to a low-level mom and pop drug operation... from the 90s. (The only reason these people ever survived was lack of enforcement) When they do have some exposure, it's often from interaction with the furry community, which is more like taking away a badge than giving you one.

After awhile you see the type of common poster and mentality and it's glaringly obvious a lot are just there to reinforce each other's defects, and with occasional exceptions, even disagreements are superficial or they're not where it matters.

Strangely, even though Beastforum is a much worse site, I felt that it gets proportionally more normal-ish people than the offshoot zoo sites, not only but ZF in particular (it was largely derived from BF, the owner used to post there, and that's their central point of reference for making a website). Although a lot of posters on Beastforum come off very sheltered too, if not often more so. But places like ZF seem to concentrate it.

Branching off a bit, most signups have no idea what kind of place ZF really is, because the truly awful stuff gets swept under the rug by the admins, or restricted to a private section for VIP members. Such as, not one but two moderators (that I know of) having convictions and one ending up in the news. (It's not the first time I say this I'm sure, but 8archive.moe is in repair) Or having owners and mods living in the UK (zoobb did this too iirc).

The most disappointing thing I've seen lately is someone advertising zoophilia.pictures. When I signed in, the rules list was obviously copy-pasted from zoophilesforum, and they seem to even share a host? Same basket. A decade later and these people still don't get it. It's a microcosm repeat of ZF branching off from BF and EZ.

You know why I browse 8chan/zoo? Because apart from some wayward users and content, there isn't a trace of Beastforum, Zetaforum, Zoophilesforum, OR zoobb.com foundation here. It's a simple board that just does its own thing with no unnecessary moderation (if you need that much moderation it means you're doing something wrong somewhere else), and its foundation is something outside the decrepit zoo world, and what do you know... it works! The perk is... over time you'll end up with a less sheltered and more self-sufficient (and less trust-dependent) userbase (which coincidentally happens to be the only smart way to keep zoos out of jail). Assuming all this survives the aftermath of the Josh cataclysm.

Hope you got enough info in there.

We actually seem to be growing quite a bit, I guess mostly from advertisement on /trash/ on 4chan.

You should elaborate as much as possible.

Yeah, I'm not sure I understand either...

Remember that thing called Infinity Next?

I'm not privy to the most recent and hell I don't browse there anymore. There were some guys with a real hateboner for the place, would be fun if they gave some input. One said he found out an admin was sharing his PMs, but I'm sure they could list their own grievances.

The whole thing was a fuckup from the start. Hambletonian didn't like the rules at BF or EZ so he decided to make a place for horse zoos with everyone-is-a-special-flower rules. Not long after they decided to let Doug Spink >>9872 help them run the show. Obviously that exploded. Someone tried to tell them it was a bad idea and they banned the messenger. After they changed their minds and the dust settled the owner became reactively paranoid and they stopped listening to anyone. I don't know why the fuck this guy >>9869 is still shilling for them, they just kept rejecting his ideas, more or less his own words. Then they hire another emotionally unstable guy with a unique public (non-zoo) criminal record to be a mod (also on zoobb), for whatever reason, even though he never had any mod qualities whatsoever, much less technical. Needless to say his situation blew up and he's gone. More recently (2014) they took on another well-known guy as a mod who ended up on the news and basically everyone in the community knew his situation was fucked except the admins who hired him. Another of the admins is outed and at the time he was hired he was making some of the worst posts I've ever read. I don't think there was a single intelligent person ever running that site except the server admin who's a bit clueless and misplaced.

I wouldn't care much about this stuff in my own world but this was a place that sells itself on having "trusted members", which in itself is fucked, but anyway. Like half the people with that title are outed in one way or another in real life or their pictures are floating around, some of them can barely write (literally you can't make out their posts)... and that's your model citizen. Whenever I was browsing there I felt like that guy in Idiocracy. I'm sure there's a lot more I don't know about or some I don't recall. It's not like they were the only ones though, elitezoo/zetaforum was filled with fuckups too, but they were more public about it (that one you can still find in the Wayback archive).

>>9875

That forum is a ton of sheltered people too. In my book they get a point for doing their own thing.

(same guy) Seems like everyone who used to be critical up and vanished. I guess they got sick of it. I'm not the best fit to tell these stories, but no one else is doing it. Fucking sad state of affairs. These places love the information vacuum, so they can feed on unsuspecting newfags in peace and inflate their numbers/influence(/$ for BF).

Let it be known I'm not discriminating. If it were up to me, the only solution I see is just nuke Beastforum, Zoophilesforum, and any derived sites out of existence. If Zetaforum and Zoobb still existed I would nuke them too. All the Beastforum-derived tumors that go back to 2003. Still infested with relic 90s mentality. Still in perpetual damage control mode and sucking people into it because of stupid choices they made up to decades ago, retroactively justified by circlejerking.

Let dinosaurs die.
