This is damage limitation as zoocore is a clearnet image board. In order to enable tor uploading the board must be listed publicly on 8chan.
There are users here who submit threatening reports often to report file links or the board to other places, who cares right?
Imagine for a second that one of these reports is for a file a user has uploaded to a clearnet site. The user was reasonable smart, they used a VPN and they had blocked javascript, they checked their DNS leaking and that there's no IPV6 issues on their line.
The hosting site is requested by LEA to provide the file information and the user had a browser fingerprint. They use a 4k monitor and they have do not track enabled, they have internet download manager installed with the suitable configuration. The hosting site knows 3 identifiable pieces of information, who cares right?
Metadata search over all sharing forums, cross referenced with IP logs of users detected at that time with suitable traffic, upload speed, data transferred etc
It's an issue, not a large one on a case by case basis but if this board retains a long history and attracts more attention as time goes on then potential problems increase and problem users should be limited in whatever information they can see historically. Spoilered files, unlisted board and removing history helps us all.
Regular lurkers will get all the files posted, people who discover this place and don't like what they see only get up to a week of history. It's a smart thing to delete your internet history and that goes for boards you use as well.
