These shots are nothing else but shots you've taken to see how your camera works. Take a look at >>743, an anon who was on a trip to iceland. Used the same camera as you did.

 No.995

>>994

Exactly how I was thinking. These shots are just masterbatory shots learning how his camera works.

 No.1060

Although his shots are more interesting, they are over exposed.

Overexposure can be used for artistic purposes to lighten the mood and create mystique.

Board: /p/, active users: 7. lol.

The boards I might personally like advertising on:

/k/

/tv/

/tg/

/mu/

/egy/

/cyber/

/kind/

/his/

/x/

I really have no idea about why should be advertised on this boards but I still feel scepsis about untargeed advertising.

What is the most important property of photography?

Photography gives me the ability to remember the monent of reality observed from a given point of view and then reexpirience it as many times as I like and in the ways which I may alternate.

I mean: if we want to attract quality posters we'd better say something important on our banners.

I just thought that we may make banners with wise photography-related quotes.

So does /p/ like any photography channels or review sites? Stuff like Digitalrev, Lanier or that guy with the baby making hips Matt G?

Most of these guys seem to talk the talk but they're all sort of dysfunctional looking, I guess that does not have an effect on skill but it's hard to trust a guy wearing a studded fedora.

Picture related, his hair line can't be that bad.

That's pretty upsetting to hear, one because she was cute and two because I can only think of Kai's scarred nose going down on her.

So people don't hate Digitalrev around here it seems, that's pretty interesting - any other channels anon likes?

How about the B&H talking space, sort of hit or miss?

Ben Horne photography channel is pretty good if you like to watch someone go camping with a large format camera ala Ansel Adams. Unfortunately his shots arent up to Adams' standard, but then again Rome wasnt built in a day.

Can you expand an image to a big size without damaging it? or maybe afterwards fix the quality with a program or something? Is there a program for that?

I have a thumbnail (not pic related) that I want to make bigger, is it possible? What is the best solution?

 No.1125

>>1124

No.

You got to work off a Master.

>>1125

False, it is possible. Use this tool:

http://waifu2x.udp.jp/

Example is OP's image enlarged using this method. Enjoy.

 No.1134

>>1124

You may use any program which supports bicubic or Lanczos resizing. They won't ruin any information which you have on thumbnail.

However, they won't introduce any new information either and your pic will still have resolution of a thumbnail just without square pixels showing.

If you want to upscale an image and make it look like it is it's own resolution you should redraw the textures and details manually...

... or search for a bigger image with Google.

The tool from >>1130 is suitable for solid-painted images (partcularly from cartoons), it won't be much better than upscaling if applied to a photograph.

Sleeping in your own bed after 2 weeks is so nice.

There was some anon here considering getting his wife a m4/3. Pic related is a direct comparison between post-processing something properly and having the camera do it. Maybe that'll also help you decide.

Let's post shitty photos and critique them like a fine art reviewer.

Rules:

1. You must critique at least one shitty photo before you post your own shitty photo.

2. Only shitty photos allowed.

3. Only pretentious critiques allowed.

4. You must title your photo and/or provide a description along with it.

5. Max one photo per post.

I'll start. I call this photo, "Chestnut Autumn Wishes".

 No.1048

>>1047

"Chestnut Autumn Wishes" fills my heart with the delightful joy of nostalgia for years gone by. The powwrful imagery of two chestnuts in an open hand supplies the viewer with an unprecedented view into the life of photographer anon. Anon's motive for this shot is obvious in the composition with a slightly dirty fingernail conjuring feelings of the unknown. Obviously Anon is a master photographer in her element and this is among her greatest work.

One does not open the aperture to brighten the background when using flash.

One should decrease shutter speed instead.

No.

I know about that one should decrease shutter speed because it is somewhat common knowledge. I yet have to use flash for something more advanced than freezing water drops - I just did not get interested in a subject which required it.

Anytime where a person's image maybe endorsing x.

My rule of thumb is. If it's art, no need for form.

No, the channel is #/photo/ with the slashes included. That link would lead to #photo with no slashes.

1) http://www.w3.org/Addressing/draft-mirashi-url-irc-01.txt - with respect to this RFC, mentioned URL is correct.

2) infinity board engine does not allow me to reference "irc://" in hyperlink.

Well sorry, but with respect to where it takes you when you click it it's not correct.

Whatever, man. Make it #photo then.

Nobody except me has joined since this thread was made anyway.

People either aren't interested in an IRC channel or they prefer #/p/ (for some fucking reason)

Rules are good only if they correspond to interests of the community.

Discuss and propose any rules in this thread.

Currently here are no rules except global ones.

I propose one rule though: shocking content is prohibited as long as it does not serve artistic intentions.

I have 4 photo threads on this board right now.

There's just no reason to waste time making the 5th.

The guy who took over this board from the original owner was plenty cocky about "making it awesome" but it's clearly not going to happen.

It's a shame too because I was sick to death of halfchan /p/ and had high hopes for this.
