Found something interesting, I think it’s a good example of memetic warfare in the wild. The current mainstream economic narrative is that a collapsing China is causing negative contagion to the U.S markets.

I found these posts on reddit that all show a comparison between clean air over a western allies country and smog over China. The same image has been posted in the past with very similar titles, see below -

And this is the most interesting one, it’s got the same title but a different image. The image is a comic, the final speech bubble says: “And that 4chan is where the devil makes potty”. Aside from none of it being funny or making sense, you end up reaching this last speech bubble and none of it really making much sense other than, perhaps, to connect this negative feeling (“4chan”, “devil”, “potty”) with the idea of the concept of China.

What do you guys think about the idea that the government is using Snowden's leaks as a means to distract or otherwise coerce the population into thinking a certain way?

Do you feel he is 100% legitimate or do you think he is possibly a part of a larger operation?

It's been a month or two and Snowden's been following the general plan of supporting subversive rights in the US on twitter, do people still doubt he isn't a plant?

Anything supporting BLM is a huge red flag, that "movement" was inauthentic from the start, it remains to be seen if Snowden was apart of that false gov signal in the first place though.

They have many agents providing many perspectives all pre packaged for the masses.

Snowden was made to look like the average person can just leak a ton of info when in reality, everyone is on a need to know basis. There would absolutely be no reason whatsoever to have this information available to any nsa employee. It is going full retard to give employees this level of access considering they literally have no reason to have this access in the first place.

They pre package these leaks and spread them out in the long term to cause the least amount of damage (most of this stuff was already known in the conspiracy scene anyways). The longer they wait, the less influence these actions have on people.

They also paint the perspective of sides. There are no sides. No competition. It is all one entity with different masks in an effort to bring about global change (inevitably leading to one gov in the long (decades) term-not the short term).

They parade these agents around like superstars, give them a stage to talk on where people who have been exposed to a fraction of the truth are in awe of them. Easily controlled people because "why would they lie?" After all, they did "leak" information right?

This is the basis of popularity. Offer the masses something they like (authors, artist, directers all making their best work in the beg. Before it all goes to shit once they have the audience), and when they have the audience, start feeding them shit.

They built it and people showed up.

Its not that hard to see the inevitable results of actions (good and bad). You just have to throw away any emotional attachment you have to these people and go from there.

Long term goals are accomplished with multiple short term goals.

Imagine that you live in a nation where the elite have no real allegiance to the people. So they import a new people and then manipulate them to subvert the original population.

How would you fight this? Are there good historical examples showing a native population that fought back and won?

>So they import a new people and then manipulate them to subvert the original population

That only works when the new population comes from your population stock

Besides the irish example I would name the south-west united states: that land was all spain's and then mexico's, and the population there was heavily hispanic. Before the US-mexico was you had manifest destiny which was basically a scheme to get as many anglo/north-european to the area as possible in order to out-breed the hispanics (mostly southern europeans and native mexicans) out of the area, which is why the native population of the area which was technically mexico didn't rebel when under US rule, because they were mostly non-hispanics

If western-european leaders wanted to do this they would be much better off letting russians in. The average russian would sell his soul to the labor party, the greens, the socialist and any other party that gives them a EU passport.

The muslims they are letting in don't care about these liberal parties, in fact the favorite party for sweden muslims' is SD, a party most white swedes consider "extreme right" and "anti immigrant"

If anything the current immigration crisis in europe shows you what happens to a political class that lives so isolated they lose any connection with reality. A good parallel is the soviet leadership which lived such sheltered lives that they didn't see the looming economic problems and stagnation that ended up destroying the USSR. You had people like gorbachev who were so fucking oblivious to everything going on that when the berlin wall protests happened he gave no orders because he couldn't believe what was happening, so a bunch of unarmed germans were able to break the wall using hammers while soviet soldier just stood there watching

No. No one is elected by voters voting. Why would those in power leave their hegemony vulnerable to popular caprices?
Votes are suggestions at best. In the modern digitized age they are used for datamining purposes so that you feel good about the generic politicians that are set up as the puppets for international interests.

The people swaying your governments, currencies, academia and general afflictions already control money printing in all the major and secondary world powers. They have no need of "earning" money or getting more money. Stock market crashes are designed to rob everyone else, so is inflation.

I've been following this thread for awhile and I'm under the impression that you actually think the current political/power apparatus is competent of such major disinformation and manipulation of such large groups of people. No doubt there are currently and have been massive distraction methods used, to a varying degree of success, in an effort to persuade and or de-saude populaces all over different countries. Being that I was and am privy to a certain degree of discourse in the privacy of few men, of what many would deem 'men of means' and capable of such manipulation, I have found that the primary motive is in fact greed. Not just greed for money, but also control.

This all being said, it is still a matter of fact that these 'manipulators' are still in fact human, and subject to human instinct and therefore error. And they do in fact make error's galore.

With that, this arises the natural gaps in the power structure, where the will of the people can emerge.

However it's not so much the will of the people that I believe in, it's the will of the people that agree with me and my core values. And there in lies the dilemma no? Even if the vast majority of /pol/ or even /32/ got what it desired, say outcomes in 'elections' or certain reforms taking place, or liberties being restored etc., it would still be subjective and in the eye of the beholder so to speak.

While many would agree here that autonomy is a moral virtue and right (the right to be left alone), many would also say they feel comfort in 'big brother' etc. so this concept of 'free them' is what believe just another illusion in the apparatus. We are already free. They are free. There is no 'free them' to tale action on.

>Don't get bogged down in discussions about who is voting for whom or the personal celebrity gossips about politicians.

What? Everything is subjective? 'Some people want autonomy and some don't' -- what point are you making? The majority of people never really consider what's true and what's not, and consequently they are led off cliffs in great herds by people who pretend to espouse the truth; which is their truth. Is that freedom?

Freedom has become a mere buzz word then. I am interested in human happiness, and believe it attainable through one course. You might consider it possible to be blissfully happy through heroin, orgasm and ignorance, but that is at odds with the underlying reality that the debased person tries to escape from. Blissful happiness does not come to those lost in pet delusions and smoke and mirrors, distracted with gadgets and masturbatory or gory fantasies -- with the yoke of thought policing to ensure the state of conformity that makes that stuff possible. That is a state of fear and fear at life, dreaming the alienated world to be evil. It is also a denial of peoples higher natures.

>What gaps? You mean like little pub hall meetings and stuff?

'Stuff'? In the most primitive of terms then yes, revolutions can start anywhere these gaps arise, pubs, internet image boards, etc. The will of the people is again a subjective term that takes into account a great amount of assumptions, more often than not it's been my experience that the 'people' can have their will manipulated, and that manipulation can actually in some rare instances be great, when the people forging the will of the people is grounded in altruism, morality and trust. Taking into consideration and having the respect for man to live out his natural life trajectory, and be left alone to make it his will, with the least amount of outside influence forced upon him, consciously or subconsciously, as possible.

>Is that freedom?

Freedom is relative to an individuals definition of freedom. Freedom is more or less a state of mind.

>peoples higher natures.

Thanks I needed a laugh. Higher nature to build parking lots? Consume mindless drivel, buy tickle me elmos, neglect nature and children? Find comfort in sharing opinions via plastic and metal to people who you will never meet via the internet? Higher nature, another relative term, is in the eye of the beholder. I might think a great classical composer appeals to a humans ability to engage in this abstract 'higher nature' you speak of. And yet I might also think that this higher nature is only possessed by a person who can manipulate those around them to do their bidding, without their knowledge but full consent. Maybe a classical composer is just manipulating the mind on a higher nature' who knows.

We get the world we deserve. Can there be a higher nature without a lower nature? Does most of nature gravitate towards the higher part or the lower part? Abstract and irrelevant. Not even the truth matters to most, I could agree, however the truth must matter to those that have power and can be counted on to manipulate the masses into believing self governance on the individual, state and federal level is oPost too long. >The people swaying your governments, currencies, academia and general afflictions already control money printing in all the major and secondary world powers. They have no need of "earning" money or getting more money.

It fucking derailed right there

There are no world cabals, which doesn't mean some people and groups don't have incredible levels of control and influence, but again its not an all-encompassing cabal

The reason why some countries get to print money without triggering hyperinflation and others don't is that some countries pay their debts on time and thus can make more debt (bonds) because they are AAA ranked meaning its certain those bonds will be paid

The countries that can't print money like that are usually countries with a history of debt defaults and corrupt fucks who steal money from foreign loans to build themselves a mansion in some tax heaven, so they can't make more debt in the form of bonds because they have defaulted in so many times before that said bonds are rated as 'junk' because its very likely they will default again

A country without money or the means to obtain money can't print money, and if they do they are just liquefying their existing funds

Memetics is a field that was initially attempted to be research on at least one 8chan board, namely /BMW/.

The results never were collected because at every turn discussion of memetics as a potential vector for disseminating information pertinent to halting the current social decline was derailed by at best genuine occultist believers and at worst malicious subversives.

To begin memes are potentially a groundbreaking way to communicate many messages in a concise, compact and most importantly of all, humourous way. indeed the same meme may contain numerous messages, for example the (by anon standards) ancient Pedobear meme, this conveys a huge number of meanings, depending on minor changes and additions to the meme itself, so when depicted with a person with normal expression this clearly indicates of course that the pictured is a pedophile, when alone or in an approval seal it is simultaneously a warning to anons to not go into the thread, and a call to the mods for removal of the thread.

The chans actually hold a major advantage in this medium of information dissemination as old media or even new media who are late gen X or early millenials for some reason do not quite have the required ability to read the subtle nuances of a meme, perhaps it's a matter of age, perhaps a matter of left-leaning offence and elitism, some combination of the two or neither. however it does stand as a significant advantage to the various chan boards most notably /pol/ in getting information out to people beyond normal social media and bloggers etc's speed of adaptation, a fantastic example of this being the meme and slur "dindu" or "dindu nuffin" which evaded media call outs for the hilariously racially charged epithet it truly is for more than a year and indeed most people until the /k/-baltimore altercation would not have known what you meant had you said it but those who looked it up or who paid attention to context.

as such memes have two particularly beautiful applications, one of which being pseudo-cryptography, in which multiple layered meanings on a meme allow it to be used in different settings via posters or some such to communicate something about a place or group frequenting it, or as this piece seePost too long.  No.2613

It is fundamentally important for any sort of discussion on memetics that a proper definition of a meme be known. Dawkins defines a meme as “a unit of cultural inheritance, hypothesized as analogous to the particulate gene, and as naturally selected in virtue of its phenotypic consequences on its own survival and replication in the cultural environment”. As with genes, the constituents of success will be long life, fecundity and accuracy of replication; for individual copies, fecundity is the most important factor. The element of competition necessary for any selection to take place is introduced by the brain’s limited attention: in order to dominate, a meme must distract the brain’s attention from other memes. Selection will favor those memes capable of exploiting the current cultural environment, which obviously includes other memes also trying to be selected. A meme will, like a gene, be successful “by proxy”: via its phenotypic effects. Like genes, memes have two types of effects. The first is the use of their possessors’ communication and imitation skills in order to replicate. The second, as for genes, consists in the effects they have on the world, which influence their survival chances. The success of this second type of effect will (for both kinds of replicator) depend on the current environment, a crucial part of which will be the existing pool of replicators.

Memes are not just amusing pictures or phrases, they are any sort of idea of belief that can be transmitted, multiplied and has an effect on those who hold it and the world. The patriarchy is a meme. Racism is a meme. Racial purity is a meme. Nationalism is a meme. To say that a certain group does no use memes is simply wrong: every society (collection of individuals who interact) has a culture or sub-culture, and those are always made up of memes. The main reason why /bmw/ has produced no worthwhile results is that it failed to grasp this, holding on the the definition of "meme" popularized by 9gag and facebook.

Now, when we talk about humorous internet memes (let us refer to them from now on as "humor templates", as that is a much more apt term) I will concede that some groups tend to have a much better grasp on the topic than others. This is partially because the individuals who make up those groups spend more time online andPost too long. Click here to view the full text.

I do agree with you in the latter points of your post. First, the possibilities for the use of humor templates. They can serve as a means of transmitting a message in a sub-level not known to those familiar with it, just like the recognitions signs of certain secret societies, like the Freemasons. The masons use phrases and gestures that, to the uninitiated, seem like regular actions but to the initiated indicate their membership within a group. The Bane quotes are an example of how humor templates can be used as a means of recognition. The second point you made is the importance of letting go of the mystical aspect of memetics and embrace the empirically valid methods of analysis of communication and thinking. In order to successfully create a meme, that is, to popularize an idea, belief or humor template one must seek to understand its effects on the individuals and on the environment. Rhetoric and philosophy have worked on matters relating to how knowledge is acquired, how beliefs are shaped and held and how people can be convinced for thousands of years; and now the younger fields of publicity and public relations are specializing in this from a more practical standpoint. Christian missionaries and Muslim imams are not successful in converting people and keeping their faith because of divine intervention, but because of their use of arguments, communication tactics and social engineering in order to achieve those goals. Aleister Crowley's popularity in his day didn't come from his ability to perform actual magic feats, but because he knew how to work the people to his advantage. When these aspiring "meme crafters" understand both this and the actual nature of memes they will be able to actually achieve something of value. Until then, they will just be people online thinking that posting pepes will increase the frog population or other such nonsense.

 No.2617

What you neglect to consider is that chans operate in a continuum of seriousness and humor.

I'd think most people talking about meme magic don't actually believe in it, but just rp for fun.

So I've been hearing about the development of video games for the purpose of recreating the nature of the world to the next generation of students.

(specifically, from this blog http://www.invisibleserfscollar.com/reimaging-the-nature-of-the-world-in-the-minds-of-students-alters-future-behavior-and-social-events/)

The term "gamification" has been gaining a lot of popularity in the last few years and I predict that there will most likely be a public debate on the inclusion of video games in schools soon. Electronic gadgets such as laptops and tablets are quickly making their way into our schools. As a matter of fact, many schools have already included tablets in their list of school supplies. But this is besides the point; we are going to see a change in the way we teach our children rather than just the addition of an electronic gadget. Among one of these games is the game Quandary. What I'll be doing in this thread is a play-through of this game.

It's available online for free at http://quandarygame. org/

There are 3 chapters and I'll be playing through the first one to see what the fuss is all about. I won't be making any reflections on this. Hope you enjoy it or find something of interest.

Summary of the game pulled from the website itself:

Players aged 8 and up shape the future of a new society while learning how to recognize ethical issues and deal with challenging situations in their own lives.

Players lead a new human colony on a distant planet. They must make difficult decisions in which there are no clear right or wrong answers but important consequences – to themselves, to others in the colony and to the planet Braxos. Players develop skills such as critical thinking, perspective-taking and decision-making. Quandary provides a framework Post too long. Click here to view the full text.

The 1950s music fits the overall setting of a world in which the Cold War didn't end, and then ultimately got hot. My roommate describes it like the Jetsons, it's the future that would have been if they kept doing what they did in the 1950s. As technology progresses, nuclear power replaces most other sources. Eventually a nuclear war occurs (I'm not sure what causes it in the game) and so the infrastructure production of new things is destroyed and the majority of technology thereafter is based around scavenging. Music is also found this way, and the harsh world prevents new recordings, the player to assume.

The lyrics are not actually new either, Sixty Minute Man is a real song (not sure the actual recording date) and other songs featured are just as sexual. There are apparently two new recordings that fit the same genre and sexual/nuclear themes.

The violence and sex are "complemented" with lightheartedness and endearing characters, even while my roommate comments that most "mobs" in the game have no value and he remarked that it was as if they were there just to be killed and to take their post-war currency (bottle caps).

Fallout is just one of the many games and television shows and movies featuring the "post-Apocalypse." If one subscribed to a NWO conspiracy, he might classify these themes of media as apocalypse pre-programming or something like that.

This is most likely the answer.

Gamification seems more like a scam from people who don't know shit about games or education, trying to get funding from the government.

Shit, a couple of feminist hacks can come up with a catchy name and brand themselves as a "non profit organization for equality and education using technology".

Probably, the ultimate goal for scammers like Feminist Frequency is to get to the next level beyond scamming individuals, and grab the tit of the State.

Also, first time posting here.I don't believe what most of you say, but it's interesting conversation nonetheless

Its funny how every time we start conflating SJWs with money and scams some fucker out of nowhere has to come and derail the thread with mind-control conspiracies

The reality is that before femfreq anita was:

>a scam self-help seminar promoter

>a saleswoman for a bullshit cruise company

>a hand-reader

>a PUA

She was basically into every single fucking scam out there since the early 2000s until 2012 when she hit the motherload with SJWs bankrolling her shitty videos which she didn't deliver, and that was just the tip of the iceberg

Think about it: she's just another useless cunt with a coms degree but instead of flipping burgers for minimum wage she is making at least half-a-million a year by doing nearly NOTHING at all

On top of that she when from shady scammer to being a well-respect media personality that charges over $50,000 to talk at events

People who refuse the money angle are either dumb kids or shills, anita is going more money with this shit than most people will make in their entire lives

>Gamification seems more like a scam from people who don't know shit about games

Of course it isI'm that anon you quoted btwI work in web design and only a couple years ago gamification was the shit in my industry, every single dipshit CEO kid building a startup with daddy's money wanted me to implement some "gamification" into their sites, and of course they had no fucking idea what it was beyond stupid internet points. And of course it didn't work for shit and pretty much every startup that made gamification a key component of their apps crashed and disappeared

"Santa Claus is Coming to Town" is a Christ mass song written in America in 1934. It has become one of the biggest sellers in American history.

I just want to note that it is funny how much of culture and traditions that are nowadays owned by corporations but that will not be the main focus of the thread.

I want to us to discuss the song itself. It has an upbeat melody, yet the lyrics are scary. We are told to watch out, because there is an all seeing, all knowing character coming, and we WILL be judged.

We are told not to cry, nor to pout. This stands in stark contrast to the modern viewpoint that one should console crying children, rather than tell them to shut up.

So far I've gone over the superficial properties of the song. Please help me drill deeper into this

Christmas characters have always been an extension of parental (and sometimes church) authority, meting out punishment or reward according to the child's behavior and the concepts of "naughty" and "nice" transmitted to them by their parents:

I found no evidence that this song is owned by a corporation, but the following passage of the book "Stories Behind the Greatest hits of Christmas" highlights a meaning that should have crossed the minds of everyone on this board, the constant surveillance that Santa Claus Performs over every child in the world at all times:

It is nice to be judged when you have a good chance of passing, and when the reward is nice, and the punishment is not that bad.

Being judged by this Santa guy is thus a good deal hence we are happy he is coming.

So has anyone here noticed subliminal hidden messages within popular movies and TV?

Is it "merely coincidence"? Or are these subliminal images, numbers and messages put in our media for a reason?

I'll start off with a few Sandy Hook subliminal messages found within the third Dark Knight movie, which was released on July 16, 2012, long before The Sandy Hook "Shooting" on December 14, 2012.

For a fully detailed exploration of the Sandy Hook subliminal's, with evidence and sources, please see this thread - https://www.reddit.com/r/conspiracy/comments/1u51vz/investigating_the_strange_coincidences_and/

I'll also post other images of hidden imagery from other movies.

Can someone pinpoint where the phrase "Google is your friend" originates from? I'm trying to find early mentions on usenet or elsewhere but I am having difficulty.

Even those of us who do not feel as though Google is our friend may have this phrase pop into our heads at times. It's a pervasive saying that's been thrown around the internet by savvy nerds for well over a decade. Was this an advertising slogan that was spread through grassroots methods? How and why did it become so popular?

There is something vaguely menacing about it.

http://www.iwdir.net/l/google.php
Speaking of menacing, this article from 1998 mentions the "Don't be evil" unofficial slogan, which is a bit strange itself.

To be fair, it could be a self-creating phrase.

Example 1:

>Guy 1: What is X?

>Guy 2: Just use Google.

Example 2:

>Guy 1: How do I X?

>Guy 2: Google is your friend.

Now, for determination whether it is naturally occurring would be to ask:

Whether X is your friend is a general figure of speech at all and if it came before the Google phrase?

What do you believe to be the underlying reasons for SJWism? Or garden-variety conservatism?

Is it sexual?

Is it, more generally, the alpha/beta spectrum?

The allure of rebellion?

One's relation to their parents?

Is it simply natural considering an upbringing which instills no values/particular values?

Or is it tribal thinking, with people simply choosing whichever group they find most appealing in a much more visceral way?

Questions, questions. An awfully broad subject - to which there probably isn't a simple answer - and maybe humans aren't quite so boring, with a different answer for everyone. Wouldn't that be nice?

Negative. You actually might be a plant/shill for saying this. This statement is categorically false and shows that the writer doesn't get out much. To wit, I've had exposure to major work centers that you would consider

sensitive' in a bastion of the leftist heartland, and I can tell you with certainty that there are men still willing to call a horse a horse, because they know what's at stake and have nothing to lose.

For instance with this latest muslim infused massacre. The general discussion at said environment has been very one sided against the muzzies (and commies) to the shock of one particular sjw (single mom, puerto rican coal burner). Goes to show there is still hope.

Your use of weak memes like "coal burner" already tells me that the one with no contact with reality is you since if you were to mention that outside of places like pol and IRL you would most likely be asked to leave, at best.

Getting fired over non-PC talk is not an absolute and most often than not it depends on the mental instability of the "person" (if you can call the average SJW that) making the accusation against you and if they have the connections to trigger a social stampede against you in the web (dox, campaigns, emails to your employer) but this is becoming ridiculously easy as SJW don't even bother to double check if they are being used as somebody's personal army and seeing how most of them are psychopaths its probable they don't care.

But the reality is that there are few, VERY FEW employers out there who would gladly risk a massive PR disaster over an employee, you had companies like github firing a founder, FOUNDER no employee, over such a scandal.

But if you want to keep using dumb racial memes that are no different from the shit tumblr feminazis make then you better go back to pol and stay there.

We have likely all arrived at similar conclusions in regards to how the world works. So I want to pose two questions:

1.Is there any hope of changing things for the better?

2.If there is, how do we do it?

Personally, I have a very hard time believing that we can prevent the gradual loss of our liberties and regain even a little bit of power over our own lives. We aren't fighting to prevent the New World Order (or whatever you want to call it), we are fighting to change it back. It is very hard not to give into despair and choose a hedonistic life of servitude when looking at the big picture. In fact, this song seems to me like the perfect soundtrack for the 21st Century.

Regarding the method of resistance, there are many differing opinions on this. The Fringe Wizards believe in using magik to fight the Demiurge and liberate themselves as individuals, both the /pol/acks and the /lefty/s believe in revolution and the creation of a new government, while the libertarians like the idea that the free market will fix it. As for me, I can't really think of an effective way we can try to overcome our enslavement as a society. We can only resist as individuals, and in our resistance set the example for others, while fighting the inevitable marginalization of our opinions. I wouldn't be surprised if the people on top were aware of the existence of places online like this, and found it amusing.

I also recently watched it.

you draw some terrifyingly accurate points.

Everything relies on a conjunction of innovation in technology. If we are to move froward into a basic income economy we MUST also change the way education is handled across the board. This will be our fundamental battleground against the "elite".

I have some vague ideas of an open stream higher education system that facilitates voluntary drop in drop out mentorship and apprenticeship. Combined with interest free loans from starting buisness or some something similar in the hopes of creating a system of information tranfer that can create an environment where a true free market may unfold. It may be utopian but I hope to see a sythesis of libertarianism and socialism via basic income.

>But is this all bad? ... Why not create a perception of reality that will minimize or remove suffering? Finally, is it relevant whether one does these things of their own free will, or if their perception are forcibly realigned by the propaganda of some government entity?

Exactly, the ideal political state is an authoritarian global state whose members believe themselves to be free. It's kind of in place but there's still a long way to go.

>It is innately abhorrent. I do not want it. The thought of becoming a zombie with no personal agency is depressing

You can still have personal agency because you are aware of it. Freedoms are relative, as soon as you're out of one box there's still another the puts limits on what you can do. There are many forces which influence our actions, psychological, cultural, social, biological, and, as a final absolute, physical. But if you become conscious of these boundaries, you have the possibility to live a life free of them.

The recent episode of Law& Order Special Victims Unit deals with the problem of online harassment of women involved in gaming. It depicts a dedicated programmer who is doxxed swatted, kidnapped and raped by a small group of males who are enraged by her presence in the gaming world. Most of you which have watched this episode or read about it have already figured out it is a blatant piece of ideological propaganda, so let's take a moment to analyze the message a bit more clearly.

The first element that catches our attention is the complete lack of subtlety in introducing to the viewer such trending technological terms as "noob" and "camping". The majority of the characters seems clueless in regards to this world of video-games, but hopefully Ice-T's character is there to provide exposition. This was not a case of lack of perception or bad writing, it was in fact a deliberate attempt at alienating individuals who actually understand gaming culture, because such viewers are much less likely to accept the message that is to come. These encyclopedic quoted during dialogue allow the individuals who are not familiar with the topic to believe that they are learning about it, and thus validate their notion that their opinions on the subject are valid.

Despite the obvious reference to current events, the writers are very careful to change the details in order to fit the narrative into what was reported by the major news outlets. The first and most obvious change is the fact that the harassment is motivated not by an ethical matter, but by the mere fact that the target is a woman involved in gaming. Yes, there is a brief mention that she is suspected with having slept with someone in order to gain favor with investors or somesuch, but in all of the instances that the criminals make themselves heard, the attack is not justified by this rumor (which not denied), but by their nonacceptance of the fact that women are involved in gaming.

Last week I saw an episode about 3 black kids bullying an white transsexual boy. The discussion goes on, and by tossing the white boys camera around, eventually he fallen on the chest of one of the black kids while trying to catch the camera from. The black kid reaction was to push the white boy, who got pushed out the bridge.

The episode goes on, and eventually the tranny dies. The leftist propaganda started with the "muhh he didn't done nothing" "muhh he's good boy", and also with the dead boy parents saying that the black kid who was being charged with murder should not be incarcerated, and stuff like that.

At the end of the episode, the judge finally brings the verdict by charging him as an adult and convicting the black kid for the homicide of the transsexual boy.

This episode was bough by my teacher in one of my law school classes here in Brazil. Almost all the class who doesn't know shit about the American legal system and under age prosecution, agreed that the North American system was unfair, obviously by the propaganda the episode bought with it.

Why the boy needed to be incarcerated? Why he should be treated as an adult? He's just a boy, for god sake! That was the line of thinking off the vast majority, and this was used by the teacher to show how much the Brazilian system was "superior" from the north American one in the prosecution and treatment of the crimes committed by under ages.

Here in Brazil, if an under age commits any kind of crime, even the most brutal homicide, the penalty is, at most, 3 years on a special facility just for teens. I think this is insane! And that is the kind of think the Law & Order want to be the motto on the United States, by doing this kind of propaganda.

Teaching institutions have always used non-academic media as a resource, but usually they have been books of classical literature/poetry, or at most films. Now we see things such as video-games and TV shows also being used to "complement" the official curriculum. I wonder how the relationship between entertainment and teaching will evolve in the coming years.
