Femen is an astroturfed feminist grievance group used to "harass" (show tits) targets; allegedly of Soros and to furnish the stage of women against tradition. The socialists have Noam "who knows, who cares" Chomsky, the slobbering Zizek and parties like Syzria leading them on.

As to your point that Jews often play a role in at least the initial phase of intellectual criticism: consider that Judaism is a special case of ethno-religious preservation by contrarianism. The culture is singularly obsessed with preservation of itself. The history of constant oppression is now held sacred and reinforcing this objective. Absolutely true we can say much of this opression is due to the inflexible nature of their culture. But this is what has preserved them in some form or another for thousands of years despite a seemingly handicapped strategy of discouraging conversion and small population.

With all of this contrarianism so ingrained in Jews, combined with the tradition of scholarly development, it's no wonder we see Jews making intellectual critiques of any goy society.

And why do we see so little interest in such critique of society within Israel? Because they are within a Jewish state. Such rebellion would only likely come from the most miserable or socially removed Jews.

The important thing to consider is that - whatever the reason - some people have the urge to control communities and get along with the big guys (mainly administrators) - eventually they inherit the position, if they are smart enough. That is the survival of the fittest in itself. Obviously, these extremely-social characters might suffer from some mental condition causing this behaviour in the first place.

Once you consider that, and accept that is what they love, you have to ask yourself - what possible job is accessible to those people? This is where it stems from.

The new job market for them is the community managers and (by government acceptable) activism, which today is social justice. In some cases they do not have strictly defined jobs, but patreons and crowd-funding have proven to by as reliable as job bureau, and if they have collage education they progress as academics from that point.

So to keep it short, they are making their own jobs within (by today's standards) acceptable framework. I consider it to be somewhat revolutionary, on par as if someone told you that the future people will be artists because all jobs are occupied by machines. For them, we are the machines, and they don't want our jobs anyway.

The key points laid over this question of SJWs:

1. Alienation. Not having traditional social fabric/support, sense of belonging, and meaningful rites of passage leading to firm role in community. Obviously this applies to many people in Western societies and particularly to people drawn to Chan culture.

2. Unmet economic expectations. He calls them "the new poor" but it can simply mean someone raised in say, a solidly middle class family during good economic times who comes of age in deteriorating markets with reduced opportunity. Certainly this applies to millenials even before we consider the load of unrealistic expectations we were fed by the "self esteem" movement and Western aspirational culture/marketing in general.

3. Misfits. This is vague in the wiki, but he's lassoing all the people who would likely be discontent and disenfranched such as the physically and mentally ill. Along with that we include the frustrated underachievers, genuinely wronged by some establishment, and those who are simply miserable but unwilling to improve by healthy means. Ring any bells?

The book makes a point to explain that these generally unhappy people can easily join any mass movement which offers them a sense of belonging, empowerment, and purpose. Further they can easily switch ideologies because the words are secondary to the function of emotionally compensating for their discontentment.

Mass movements demand a stripping away of individuality. For these flexible converts, they already feel self loathing. Their unsatisfying and unexamined lives are willing plastic.

Looking back, my post didn't fully convey what I meant.

It is easier to frame events, people and moral choices if you can embed framing tools into kids' heads from birth.

Systems of morality can be planted. Then most mainstream discussion of morals happens within these confines. Archetypical heroes and villains can be planted, then pulled out for the media spin theater. Putin is the cold Russian hitman. Trump is the spoiled bully. The school shooters who all fit the same "depressed white teenager with greasy hair" profile. The more one shapes these symbols, the more one shapes peoples' minds and therefore society.

The focus is on the control of symbols in the mind. You set up symbols, scenarios, personalities, etc. These are all tools to be used whenever you need them. If you plant these symbols in a child's head early, their personality assimilates it. There is nostalgia involved. The symbols are wedged into the culture, and over time become a genuine part of it.

Like you said though, all groups and individuals influence each other anyway. So the question is, how do you separate "good" and "bad" symbols, authentic or planted? That's a pretty complex discussion.

I treat it like a danger, however, because the monopolization that is occurring in the media right now is creating a system where the power of influence is being held by a select few entities. The elites have always made and normalized society's rules, but as the media power concentrates more and more densely, huge swaths of people will be influenced by narrower and narrower ideological bases. More people in front of the same puppet show of easily controllable, intimate-feeling symbols.
