Do you have that version on yourself?

>Think you'd have any room for a less operator looking suit to give a ride to?

Actually, I don't. "Carrier" special ability can support 12 drones, 15 humans, or a large vehicle. I hit the 12 cap on drones. Though, losing a drone or two to have you in there would be a good deal, another suit is always better than a drone.

I don't have it.

The more I look for it the more I wonder if it ever really existed or whether I'm just mixing it up with stardust's hardpoint system.

So how well does collapsible work with a fortress suit? Does it turn into a well disguised dumpster or something?

It turns it into a common accessory, so even the giant fortress turns into a little bracelet.

 No.1615

Let's have a look at a build I can cobble together.

Thoughts

Mesh right off the bat makes me relatively slow but due to the high dexterity it basically turns me into Cameron Hicks from Alphas. I can only go a day without recharging but I completely recharge all my power and durability in one hour.

Improved Stealth and Assassinate work so well together that it's ludicrous. I start with a major edge against everyone who doesn't expect me and I can easily escape from a lot of situations with Camouflage (despite what the description says. I just need to be smart about my actions)

Medic is awesome when I work together with some people. They will recover all their shit in less than an hour up to 30 minutes.

After playing Bayonetta 2 I really have a hard time not to choose the Tauric body type. I want to either boost my speed or gain a form of movement especially useful for a camouflaged assassin. Since my camouflage is infinite I'll take Lamia to fuck around as the spooky killer that comes out of nowhere,

Soldier AI fits great into the silent killer I seem to be making. Agent fits the same mold but for slightly different tactics.

Hud choices are fucking insane. Would take all if that wouldn't take so many of my points.

COMMs. Same thing. Down to exactly 100 points now.

The Plasma Bow is a silent weapon (doesn't specify it but come on, it's a bow and the weapon next to it is basically a continuously exploding shrapnel grenade). High Damage works well with the ability to find weakpoints and such.

Uplift and Ghost are because of Magical Realm reasons. Nothing more than that. Polyglot is an absolute must have: Communicating with a shit ton of people AND being able to manipulate them? Sign me up. Stabilizers are there to make my escapes more likely and finally give me a speed boost.

I live in a troll cave so I can learn to think like a troll, I'm an unnatural freak anyway, I could never blend in with normal society. I guess my heritage is the science facility that created me, it goes back some time.

The helicopter is great for fighting a giant, invisibility combined with the troll's greatest weakness, sunlight.

I have one fellow warrior and two informants but I'm also part of the council of elders, they trust me and wouldn't be too happy with a giant attack.

what are the restrictions on them?

what defines clothing for red? what if you're holding something, or something's attached to you?

what defines flight?

yellow is pretty simple, but what do you have to do to read a mind?

how long does shape-shifting take, and how long can you stay in that form?

what protects you if you choose orange?

what prevents you from falling and being stuck in the center of the earth if you choose purple? for that matter, what keeps you in earth's orbit, seeing how quickly the earth rotates around the sun?

what can you manipulate with gray? and does this give you awareness of everything? inb4 quantum manipulation

how quickly does pink act?

 No.899

Assuming there's no way to cheat death with any of these buttons I'd still go for pink. Healing others is a virtuous and useful power, plus if I go public with my ability the insuing shitstorm will be a great ride.

 No.904

yellow > pink > purple > grey > green > red > orange > blue

Pink might be better if "wound" is as broad as most people ITT interpret it. How useful yellow is depends on the range and precision, but if it's line-of-sight and includes searching through memories, that's enough to become a billionaire and wreak havoc upon world politics.

An Ur/Lokt alliance might not actually work out longterm. A lot of Lokt people might be in it specifically to abuse their power, and if they get together and purge the Ur disciples before turning on each other, you end up with a dystopian Lokt-only victory. Technically not Lokt-only, since Lux disciples can jolly well be a thing and there might be a few Amlia, Ersu, Long Man, or XM disciples in hiding. But Lokt is in charge and everything is horrible forever. Of course, it's possible that Ur will win in the Ur/Lokt showdown, but in that case we basically get the surviving Ur disciples deciding whether they want an Ur/Lokt victory or an Ur/Ersu victory, just without technically having any Lokt or Ersu disciples around for it.

Finally, the Quet assassins used to kill enemy disciples are going to be planning on turning against their midgame allies and everyone knows it, but if they successfully feign being a different type of disciple through Bloodthirst or just pick a surprising moment to betray their team, it's possible that Quet will win. In this case the entire world just returns to status quo. As such, national leaders want a Quet victory, but there's plenty of time in the midgame for Lokt to Imperium them or Ur to Inspiration them or their followers and lock down the midgame national factions for themselves, and both Lokt and Ur have powerful combat powers that make them difficult (though by no means impossible) to assassinate. Perhaps more importantly, once it's obvious you're gunning for a Quet victory, disciples of every other god want you to die, which could result in your Quet disciples being wiped out faster and getting you knocked out of the midgame. So national leaders want a Quet victory and they're going for it the same way the actual Quet disciples are: By trying to time the betrayal of their non-Quet allies just right.

There are other options besides these main four, and all of them branch off from one of the main ones. For example, an Ur/Optus victory might occur if some Lokt disciples get together and try to shoot for a Lokt-only victory, and some mid-ranking Optus disciples side with Ur to foil it. If Quet successfulPost too long. Click here to view the full text.

> Quet's agenda is to kill all other disciples, not just the disciples of all other gods, so Quet vs. Quet is going to happen.

I think you read too much into it. "Quet desires "only" to destroy the other gods.", it says. "All other disciples" almost definitely means the disciples of the other gods, and the author just didn't put it in a crystal-clear way. Nice narrative about all the other things though.

I always choose Ur. I'm surprised I'm usually the only one who chooses him. Plus, something I think that gets overlooked is your ability to control light and turn it solid. This offers a lot in terms disguises. Plus, there's that natural advantage over Quet. I think Ur disciples have potential to get along with all the other clans (especially Lux disciples) except Lokt, Quet, and and the more rambunctious XM followers.

This just isn't smart. Some of the options are clearly poor choices for world domination. Switch and Enhanced Locomotion barely do anything helpful. All of Skelemetry, and especially Chattering Teeth, is close to useless if you already have Fleshaping. Even More Rattling would let you make machines rather than living creatures, but that's a fairly minor power when you could just whip up some fleshaped engineer minions and have them build actual machines.

Once you have Spatial Fold, Doors, and everything from Fleshaping the remaining powers are things you'll barely even miss, and that's only eight points total, so two years with the demon mentor. And honestly, if you gave up Spatial Fold you wouldn't miss that much. Mend And Tear covers similar ground to its offensive use, so all you're missing out on are superspeed and the ability to redirect incoming attacks. And honestly, you have Doors that is even faster than superspeed so long as you plan ahead properly, and you have an army of fleshaped minions so if you're personally redirecting enemy attacks you're probably doing something wrong already.

I will echo the odd choices in the body build section. Being humanoid is a 5-point cost for a 5-point advantage. Being 50/50 is a 10 point cost for bugger all. It mostly comes off like the CYOA is just passive-aggressively telling people who want 50/50 monsters to fuck off. I don't think this section even needs to be there. If people want to be a monster boy/girl, a humanoid beast, or a centaur type creature, then they're going to need the human hands adaptation. Other than that, leave it up to people's imaginations. Alternatively, have human hands be a prerequisite for Humanoid and 50/50, but don't associate any point cost to the body build. Just like body size and species, you just pick one.

For lairs, my assumption is that once full grown the offspring run off and find lairs of their own. Otherwise, the amount of offspring that can be kept in even the largest of lairs is much too small. If the goal is to propagate the species, then the endgame needs to be the overthrow of human society and enslavement of humanity as a breeding population, both because the growing clan can't hide its increasing numbers past a certain point and because the number of monsters is limited by the number of human mates so you want to have as many human women available as mates as possible. So long as you have to hunt them individually, you will never have 100% of all human women in your territory as mates for you and your offspring, so sooner or later you'll want to set up your horde as the new rulers.

Also, offspring of giant monsters presumably grow to be giants (except Insectoids, whose offspring might be drones much smaller than the queen progenitor), and offspring of small monsters presumably grow up to be small, so it's odd that you can have the same number regardlesss of what your size is.

TL;DR my recommended changes

Mammals are fine.

Insects are balanced, but they're bad at making swarms. Take away their 50% max BIR disadvantage and replace it with a disadvantage that their offspring are about 1/100th as strong as the parent. Additionally give them an advantage that when their pregnancies are successful, they create 100x as many offspring at once, not just 1-3.

Reptiles are pretty good, but could probably use a minor boost. Reptiles and Avians are pretty closely related, so I think Reptiles deserve to share the 30% BIR.

Avians are crazy overpowered. They need to have their fragility weakness back and they shouldn't get winged automatically, just the discount price on it.

Like Reptilians, Aquatics are a little bit underpowered. Bump them up to 20% BIR, since Reptilians have vacated it.

Hybrids are horribly underpowered. Either give them 10 extra points or increase their BIR to 30% and give them 5 extra points and leave it at 10%.

Exactly how strong different armor classes (light, medium, and heavy) should be explicitly stated. Are they immune or resistant to knives? Pistols? Rifles? Rockets? And so on. This puts both the armor and the weapons that can pierce the armor into context.

Jaws should cost 6 points. Venom should cost 4 points. Heavy Hide should be renamed Thick Hide, should be medium armor, and should cost 6 points. Feathers/Fur should cost 2 points. Tremor should only work through solids and water, not through the air. Multi Eyes and Bright Eyes should only cost 4 points. Enhance Lactation and all of the penis based adaptations should cost between 2 and 4 points.

Finally, body builds shouldn't cost anything. Humanoid and 50/50 require that you have the humanoid hands adaptationsPost too long. Click here to view the full text.

First off can I just say thanks man, this kind of feed back on the numbers and such really helps! I dare say I didn't break it down in any where near as much detail as you did. Anyway lets get to it

As of now I am currently re doing the adapatains and am going to do a section for each species type to make it easier and give more options. So all things like Jaws and armour I am going to deal with right now same with body costs.

>Insects are balanced, but they're bad at making swarms

I thought about making swarms but I think that swarms would be hard to balance. I personally want players to actually give a damn about their offspring but thats just me. Now saying this I've not yet touched on birth/spawn as I want to get adapations nailed first.

This is what I'm planning for species changes

>Insects

As with above, however they will be better at making swarms,

>Reptiles

Get a buff to 25%

+ In the coming adapations overhaul are going to get bonus aquatic options to open up that avenue of play

>Avains

Like you say they are going to more fragile, almost to the point of glass cannons, but are still going to keep getting flight for free, this is not going to change, sorry

>Aquatics

They are going to stay unchanged however they will get the most new stuff in the coming Adapations update,

I find it ok that insects have problems mating with mammals and making viable offspring… I also find interesting the swarm option, but swarm doesn't have any business being weak… However a strong swarm without drawbacks would be imba as fuck…

So I thought about something very dark.

It wouldn't be mandatory in any way, but possibly an insect subset [horror] or something.

suppose that, in a way, insects work with infecting potential mates rather than impregnating them. Something like, insect larvae are haploids that are born very weak, and weak without an outer shell and basically incapable of feeding on their own and surviving for more than a few days, but able to infect and mess with a human host, in such a way that they can take genes from said host and complete their own genetic sequence using the host better genes and taking refuge inside the body like a parasite would. However, because the host would basically be somewhat chewed upon by the larvae, death is not an uncommon occurrence. Normally the host would have a chance of losing health or dying as a % and then the host age and strength would be rolled and altered by a number of factors like how many larvae the host is nursing. A drawback on top of this option (to make it considerably worse but giving a large chink of points to the player), larvae develop quicker but burst through the organs and devour the host always taking away health and having a chance of insta death (like alien), while an improvement would allow insectoids to be birthed normally at a slower rate and also paying costs for it (like the other alien movie).

This would permit to form swarms very quickly because even if one larvae dies before completing the process, at least one out of ten would survive. Because the insect would be constantly filling the nest with eggs, if it doesn't want the larvae to die the hunting tactic would have to be vastly more aggro, and keeping a cicle of constant attacks would require a steady supply of energy (food), both of which would make it more visible. Larvae would mature quickly and expand very early, instead of gaining expePost too long. Click here to view the full text.
