>>Eru Illuvatar is a lie.

>>Only Azathoth is real, kept in a state of dreaming by the sound of lutes and cymbals.

And with strange aeons even death may die.

THE VOID?

>Implying they aren't one in the same.

The face of god is as fickle as it is magnificent. The player of the strange melody known as time, the dancer of the strange waltz known as space.

This is Ulmo. I like the idea of Lovecraft as being anti-Tolkien.

Eldar = The Old Ones

Valar = Elder Gods

There are references to nameless creatures at the root of the world that even Gandalf would not speak of. Perhaps not all of them were made by morgoth but came from the void such as "things" like Ungoliant. Ungoliant was said to have "taken the form" of a giant spider which implies it's some kind of entity separate from that form. Ungoliant was also obsessed with consuming light, and could emit a field of pure darkness that even the Valar could not see through.

It's very likely the Watcher was a nameless one too.

It's entirely possible these things were made out of the evil woven into the Music by Melkor in the beginning.

Befora Ea was created Melkor was the one who wandered the void alone. Who's to say who corrupted who first.

In the void there was nothing

I mean in the darkness of Ëa, not in the dark voids outside the Timeless Halls of Eru.

I would love to see a tolkein/lovecraft crossover.

 No.297

>>295

I would hate it.

Tolkien is too dignified for silly shit like crossovers.

As it was mentioned by

There's already plenty Lovecraft in Tolkien. And remember that Lovecraft was before Tolkien. Considering how well read he was, maybe he read Lovecraft too.
