Of course they respond to DMCA. They have to, or they lose the safe-harbour protections afforded to providers under that law. DMCA requires that the specific thing to be taken down be clearly and unambiguously identified, so they'd managed to avoid it up to then by concealing things behind the panda, point requirements, etc. The sekrit club mentality wasn't purely for circlejerking purposes, contrary to popular belief.
Anyway, what happened is that some time ago, Fakku did a deal with Wanimagazine (one of the eromanga publishers) to translate, publish and distribute certain tankoubons in English. Coincidentally, the moment this deal was finalised and Fakku announced it, Wanimagazine suddenly sent a huge number of highly specific DMCA requests that they could not have known the URLs for without a high-level sadpanda account. These covered all artists that Wani published, not just the specific tankoubons that Fakku was selling. So translations and raws by Meme50 and a huge number of other artists were wiped out overnight. Some attempt was made to reupload some works, but these were quickly re-DMCA'd.
When asked, Fakku - a site that, unlike e- and ex actually made money from encouraging people to upload pirated raws and translations - said "well, good thing you can buy one book of it from us, huh?".

So, on the subject of logos…
On my way to class today I walked by an SUV, that had some of those "stick figure" family things on it, only they weren't stick figures. They were deer, three of them, all with antlers. One was wearing a pink bow, obviously intended to mark a female. But female deer don't grow antlers. She's unintentionally marking herself a cuckquean. Which is funny because the two small camo deer next to that sticker, but no large male deer in evidence in her stick figure family.
