Quick question guys:
Is there merchandise for our beloved ebola-chan? I would love to get something that I could attach to my bag pack or something like that.

>>17982Well, short of getting a commission, you'll have to make it yourself. Just look up a few How To Make Plushies guides, find a pattern that's close to her body, and have at it.
Granted, you'll probably want to prototype, start with a monocolor to make sure you understand how to piece everything together, then do it as is.
Here's just one model I found online, it's not chibi, but it could look pretty animu if you make the eyes right.

There have been quite a few threads that've come and gone about creating Ebola-Chan Plushie kickstarters…
Nothing ever really came of them though, there was a bunch of support, but no one with the talent or time actually came forward to start the campaign (as far as I know).
I literally could not throw money at my screen hard enough if a kickstarter was actually made (sexual favors would be on the table for following through) for a chibi plush.

The problem is that plushies take a while to make. You can't just order 5000 in Bangladesh and have them delivered next week. Expect 3 to 6 months if you have no experience with such custom orders. Would you bet on Ebola-Chan still being popular next summer? The major hype ebbed down already. If they get the vaccine ready, only the small, persistent core of the fanbase will remain. Not sure if there is much disposable income left then to justify a plushie project with.

>>21484I ordered mine from paitapaino.com but their webshop is offline right now. Just google for "paitapaino" and see which ones accept small orders (down to single shirt). There are several small print shops in Finland. Pick any.
Now I need to come up with how to add text to that one shirt that was misprinted without text. Some fabric paint probably. Maybe I'll go for UV-reactive paint for party use… stuff that is painted, let to dry and made waterproof by ironing on the flipside after initial drying.
The biggest question is: how do I get good stencil look to the letters while handpainting them. Preparing a stencil by cutting paper or thin cardboard is one way but should the stencil move, the paint would be smeared all over, and should the stencil let paint seep through, there would also be *blurred lines*.

No.21568
>>21567But at least we have the welfare system which means that we get to leech of the state
who decides where we should do 'job training' as a form of 'rehabilitating working' without receiving any actual salaryand that 'welfare' offered to the slave caste is about 1/8 of de facto minimum wage for people who manage to find a job and thus it's entirely possible your daily income is completely wasted on gasolene needed to get to your workplace**and to get something to eat you need not just apply for the 'Unemployment Allowance' but also the municipally distributed 'welfare' support. Which is more bureaucratic and people with any savings will be denied, leaving people hikikomoris and living off their savings until they become viable for help.
Help which wouldn't be needed if it wasn't 'help' that created the problem in the first place! Because when the state pays 'trainees' out of tax funds, who would employ actual workers? So yeah, hikkys place their hopes on stuff like WW3 or Ebola-chan because we know that hoping for the society to laissez faire is unrealistic. Politicians get paid for making empty promises and distributing what isn't theirs.

http://www.budsies.com/purchaseYou think there is a chance of getting them to make one based on Ebola-chan?
No.21964
>>21929This is awesome. It sounds like they'd have no trouble making Ebola-chan, but the shipping time is a bit long (over two months). Also, brief reading seems to suggest that a single plushie would cost ~$70 but that any additional ones would be ~$5 each, meaning that one could definetly pool some money and subsidize the price of Ebola-chans dramatically.

I think I might try making mold for pewter ones. Either for macho necklace (i.e big and undetailed, as self-made pewter objects tend to become) or embedding a small bolt into the cast so it can be attached sturdily into clothing (better than the crappy butterfly clutch).
Now… what is the best material for manufacturing a mold for pewter casts? I ain't gonna pay 700€ for something I could make myself and make them by dozens with little added effort. Back when I was a kid I carved a piece of wooden plank to make some Iron Crosses. They lacked quite a bit of detail so I'd consider other alternatives for mold material.
Maybe make it out of clay? Easier to create when soft, then hardened to retain it's form. At it wouldn't get charred during casting, i.e it would be durable. Should the mold be coated with something to A) improve details or B) help make the cast easier to separate from the mold?

Hmmm… plaster or high-temperature silicon perhaps… latter would be easier to separate due to elasticity. Plaster would probably be easier to sculpt due to being hard. It would be difficult to sculpt something squishy…

I'm going to bump this thread because it has been pushed to page 4 due to /cure/ shitposting and some autistic artfriend who doesn't understand the idea of using "Tans thread" for non-Ebola-chan drawangs.
Anyway, the reason for bumping the thread is two-fold:
I have obtained proper plaster for producing a mold. And I have lead+tin mix (pewter) that I can meld into the mold (once I make one). I shall be making screw on Ebola-chan sigils and maybe some with butterfly clamp as well.
The question would be, should I let the plaster dry completely and sculpt the sigil with a hard object (like a knife) into the hard plaster, or should I attempt to create the cast when plaster is half-hardened?
The other reason for bumping is the kraut-sama who ordered an Ebola-chan pendant from a professional:
>>21987>>22012According to the order, you should have it by 20th this month… that is, pretty soon. Is that still on schedule and go?
