Exactly what Mal said. If you know someone near you with a 3d printer have them print it. I'm just offering this as a possibility to ya'all, who might not have access to one. I myself am not great at cad work, but will be getting into it someday (When I get to it, work and all) But yes.
I do know when splicing (turning the cad file into something the printer understands) files from the free Google Sketchup tend to turn out like… shit. I'm still testing and trying to find a proper CAD program that will print quality based on what you make. I'll post as soon as I have a suggestion and ya'all can "obtain" it yourselves. :)
IF you submit an idea and its not the community selected idea, and you want a copy of that, I can give you a quote on a price to print, and ship it given your area location. (Cost is dependent on the amount of material used.)
Also There are all kinds of different colors/types of plastic we can print with. I'll figure that list out when we are nearing the end of this project and that could possibly be a selectable option. However say only 1 person wants this color, it's most likely not worth it to me to buy that color just for one figurine, I'll figure that out later.
On the note of printing it yourself look up local hackerspaces most likely they will have a once a month "open access" date or such where a non subscriber can go in and talk to the people who participate there, and for a few dollars they most likely would print it also. Do ask to see past prints and check for quality, 3D printers are fairly new and have a WIDE range of qualities.
