Self-Improvement Fuckups

The past few weeks, I was able to eat better. My mother, who is now no longer estranged to me, is happy again and productive. I set goals for myself last night and held them with confidence. They were 1) get a job again, she doesn't need me around the house anymore. 2) Get ripped (again, six months of lying like a lump fucked me up), 3) Get some hard work for temporary time, 4) rock hard at the Job Corps thing that's about to happen.

I could not sleep that night. I decided to go on a 2AM walk. I power walked, no one around. I came back home, still couldn't sleep. I decided to go boss. I watched the sunrise, and all kinds of morning shit. I brewed coffee, I ate left-over entire prime rib. I watched Leave it to Beaver, chewed on the bone, then put on my newly-bought Jean Jacket, pants, and decided to open-carry my hunting knife like I used to.

Walking around the industrious around 6AM, I was fucking awesome. Going steel mill to steel mill, some gas stations, then go to the Wallmart. Loiter around some areas, then went home.

I decided I wasn't amped enough so I drank two more cups of coffee, and smoked a couple halfies. I changed into a red shirt to compliment my Jean Jacket. Then I decided to aggresively brush my teeth due to the prime rib, and then swished with big gulps of rubbing alcohol. I left for the 10AM jobs.

Went to the close-by open-air mall. I went to some bars. A bar called me "baby-faced", and a few asked for ID. I talked to some people, got some leads, started going into banks, went home for lunch.

For lunch I had heavily seasoned two fried eggs, and a bowlful of grits. I Drank another three cups of coffee. Swished again with my rubbing alcohol, picked at my face with tweezers, cleaned my face with the alcohol, and loitered for a minute. Played some hard rock, glam rock, even a little David Bowie (The Thin White Duke, Station to Station). It was pretty funny. Then I did some push ups, some sit ups, then I left again.

I spent most of the next few hours going door to door in a dive-mall. A red SUV called me a faggot, and I'm like "Whatever" (my jean jacket was the same color as my pants). People are giving me looks. Each time I meet a new person I start by saying "I'm new in town, I'm looking for some temp work, and you can work me like a dog but for 4 months. That's the limit." This dive mall had everything from McDonalds to a small rented lot with a millenial and a cowboy-grandpa Montanian selling Tiny Homes. I supported them all, was friendly to them all, and showed respect where it was due.

Then I started getting burnt out. I began staring at the girls talking to me in the bank, in the little mom and pop, in the little nice place. I did not try to hide the fact I was listening just to pay attention to them in some places. I started walking around and was biting my finger and eventually my lips. Some 35 year old in lose-clothing with black jeans was walking by, and he said "This kid is going to end up killing himself" loudly.

I had the cocky smile of a person who first lost his virginity.

Then I started milking it. I went to a dive thrift-store I went to earlier to use their bathroom. There was a nice tomboy working there, stocking the VHS rack. I started talking to her about my old collection, then I just went full whammy. Told her how I needed to get back into the swing of things, I don't own a VCR right now, and I thanked her. Does this shit happen to you all the time? This is the first time I ever did something like this. I was truly out of it for so long, I needed to be a poser for a second. Tomorrow, I plan to walk to a completly different mall, probably one I have to walk down a US Route to get to, and just be calm and reserved about looking for a job. I don't like being a bulldog. I'm an Endomorph, average height and heavyset right now, btw, and the barber fucked up my haircut and turned it into some kind of geeky thing.

I thought about fasting, but told myself surely I could just have some chicken breast here, some scrambled eggs there - but before bed I would always binge on carbs. My solution? Fasting. I'm only one day in and have already gone from 211lbs to 209lbs. The last time I was this light was over a year ago. Anyways, I plan on fasting for 7 days, and having a nice lamb meal at my favorite restaurant to break it. After this meal, I am immediately back to fasting for another 7 days. How to Grow a Cock like Chad

There are two methods

A.) the safest and more proven way to have a longer banana is mirco-tearing. Only supps I take on weekends are fish oil that doesn't have vitamin D in it since I know the multivitamin has D and I also walk around outside in my free time for at least 30-45 minutes/day absorbing sunlight. I can't for the life of me figure out why I'm waking up alright, but feel like death itself by the time I get off work before even getting into the gym if anything I feel slightly more energetic after the gym, if only for about an hour.

First time ever lifting.

Been gaming my entire life. Decided to give up gaming and go 100% into lifting and fitness instead. Would like to be a big scary fucker, but also able to do parkour shit and American Ninja type stuff.

First time at the gym. Browsed leddit and decided to go with some Greyskull variant. Here's what I did for day 1 of the rest of my life:

3/14/18 @ 2am

2x8 Overhead Press @ 45 lb (bar) = 720

1x8 Overhead Press @ 55 lb = 440

Total Press = 1160 lb

2x8 Squat @ 55 = 880 (Cramped out trying to do third set.)

Did 3 "negative" chin-ups. Held for 2-3 seconds each. Pretty bad. Cried out in pain as I attempted. Jumped from the ground and held the center of the power rack. Grabbed where my forehead matched my hands and let down as slow as I could. Probably used too close of a grip.

Walked @ a 5 incline @ 3.5 speed till the default setting (quickstart) said I burned 53 calories. That's like 2 spoons of honey I think.

Scale said 242 lbs. Don't think it's correct. Should be higher. (247 just 4 days ago.)

Trying for 1600 calories / day with 1 cheat day every 7+ days. (Record is 10 days.)

Need help to get in shape

First of all, I tried posting this on halfchan (inb4 "cuckchan gtfo"), but I didn't get any satisfactory answers.

I am not all too new to lifting. I tried lifting in my teens, but I never got too much results; I grew stronger, but I didn't gain weight - this was in part to the fact that I thought you could lift, drink a protein shake and it would sort itself out.

I started lifting and eating properly much later, when I started in a new job and one of my co-workers was a semi-pro bodybuilder. I told him that I had tried working out in my teens w/o results and he told me that I simply wasn't eating enough, so he helped me out with calories and pointed out the 5x5 routine. That's when I started seeing results; I gained approx. 20 kgs. in two months (a lot of water, but I didn't mind because I've always been skinny and didn't get "fat").

Now, I would like you fine lads to rate my diet:


2 slices of extra coarse bread (75-100%) with 4 slices of boiled ham and 2 slices of low-fat cheese

1 glass of non-concentrated orange juice

Zinc Suppliments

I got some chelated zinc supplements because I know that my diet may be low in zinc, impeded by soy, and drained by fapping (I've improved on that last one a lot). One problem is that it started giving me a terrible morning shit, so I stopped but I still retained a marked increase in body feeling and vitality.

Do any of you have any experience with zinc supplements? Apparently this is not uncommon due to zinc toxicity. Does anyone have advice?

Moving forward I'm thinking of taking zinc after fapping and once or twice a week, although the bottle recommends once a day. My brand is sundown naturals and each pill is 50 mg, which is apparently 30 mg above the daily recommendations.

Weightlifting shoes

I recently joined a gym and started reading Starting Strength.

What weightlifting shoes should I get? I'm 5'11" and have 31" inseam if that's in any way helpful to determine the ideal heel height.

The Adidas Powerlift 3 seem pretty good for the price and have a 0.6" heel, but it's made of EVA which is more compressible than TPU, so it's probably not ideal for weightlifting.

I'd prefer a big-brand shoe because they're easier to find in stores and I'd rather try them on in instead of ordering online.

Now I still have the peas, but on a huge salad with cucumbers, shredded carrots, green bell peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, croutons - and yes - tofu! I don't go very hard on the tofu though because I already get enough protein from the beans and potatoes I eat for the other meals. Your taste buds, and your stomach, will thank you for eating pounds of potatoes and beans everyday. So enjoyable without the disgusting butter that most people lather onto their meals.

In addition, it's so satisfying to eat my meals and not feel disgusted afterwards by that oily feeling you get from eating meat or dairy.

Secondary reason, explanation why running makes you lose weight.

I've come to a conclusion, idea that may be widely accepted but I haven't heard it.

When you run your digestion is vastly accellerated due to the up and down and shock movements that occur. I noticed this as I ran 6-7 kilometres for the first time in years and afterwards out came a piece of undigested , raw, intact red meat.

I couldn't bench an empty bar when I started, I couldn't bench an empty bar when I stopped three years later, and it felt like being stabbed with knives the whole time. Early morning lifting - Food?

Want to start lifting early in the morning, was looking for some nutrition tips. I can't lift on a full stomach so I figure i'll slam back some coffee and maybe a small snack (cheese or something) and go lifting.

The question is, what do you eat after? A real breakfast is out of the question since my gym is in the middle of nowhere and I have to be at work early, so it would need to be something I can bring along. Does anyone have suggestions?

I'm a disgustung fat fuck so i need to do keto, so most portable breakfasts are out. I was thinking a casein-based proton shake and/or some greek yogurt or something. But I haven't lifted seriously since 2010 so my broscience is very out of date.

2018 Personal Goals Thread

I am 190 cm and 81 kg currently(6.25' 180 lbs), I play waterpolo in amateur league and want to get the body of my idol, Terry Schroeder. My pros:

I was injured for a month (third degree burns on my hands). So I didn't lift and I lost a lot of weight. Now all I can do is eat (not fat yet but I am starving all the time). And my living situations I cannot go to a gym for a while.

Losing weight

having some trouble losing weight. I am 180 lb and want to lose like 15 pounds ideally, but would be satisfied with 170 i think if enough of it were muscle.

Basically I think the trick to losing weight is to learn how to live a little hungry. The problem (i suspect with others as well) is that when i get hungry I get headaches. If i sleep half a third of my life, I really would prefer half of the other 2/3 not to be completely miserable but that's what happens. Besides giving headaches, being hungry is constantly distracting and I can't afford to be distracted and in pain while at work (i work in healthcare and without really explaining what i do, there's a possibility someone could die if I make a mistake).

How do people cope with this? does this eventually go away? do the hunger pangs and headaches dissipate when leptin levels are finally corrected (wouldn't this take months?)

Guys what the fuck do you do about protein farts? I'm trying to bulk right now and the farts I get are insane. I find myself constantly holding in farts to the point where my stomach hurts. To give you an example of what I eat; today for breakfast I had 6 (usually have around 4) scrambled eggs and 4 slices (usually have 2) of wholegrain toast. For lunch I had a yogurt ( I eat these everyday) and some fruit. Dinner I had some fish, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and potatoes with a litre of milk. Roughly 3000 calories in total. I also take a probiotic supplement everyday. I don't even take any protein powders or anything.

Anyone else deal with this shit? I'm worried I might have IBS or something. My room fucking stinks and I have to spray air freshener all the time. It causes serious stress and anxiety for me because I'm always worried about how I smell and I always think I stink but I just can't smell myself.

I tried charcoal capsules but they did nothing. I can't fucking live like this. I envy those fat fucks who can permabulk with no problems.

Been thinking about steroids.

Why? I have a friend who usually cycles them and seems to only get benefits, ending the cycles kind off sucks but when he does the hormonal replacement properly he doesn't seem to suffer much.

Lifting and insomnia

I recently started a program alternating volume and high intensity training throughout the week and after having tried the volume training I can barely get in 3 hours of sleep. I've tried melatonin, but it makes me drowsy for a half hour and then I'm an owl again.

I've read that insomnia can happen after strenuous workout sessions so it makes sense that this is happening, but I've never had this problem before even when starting out. Will my body eventually adapt to this type of training or will it happen every time I increase intensity? Any lifestyle changes I should make to help adapt?

Targeting the Joints

I always hear how shit everyone's joints are. I can relate sometimes, but I've mostly psyched myself out and have only had joint problems since I begun fearing old age and regretting my life in old age (due to my young and rash way of using my body). I've begun reversing that, but a serious look at strengthening the joints is necessary to de-neutre our joint balls and go be badass again. "oooh my joints" is something I wish were extinct.

Related: Planning in depth and detail a 30 year plan for my life that involved a large amount of physical, emotional and mental strength, endurance, durability, flexibility and agility (in the plan) had me tensing my whole body and increasing joint tightness/contraction (vs loose pussy joints), and increasing all of my attributes in preparation (as were relevant that is). Just by planning it out and taking it sincerely my body started preparing. I think our short sightedness is what makes us crumble. Having a long hard road ahead is necessary, not an option. When we give up, we go limp. Ever notice that? That limpness is deadly to our joints. We're signaling our body to stop moving… so the mobilizing joints stop trying.

So for the mind side of it, have a long road of decision making, master planning, leadership, building up and overcoming ahead of you. All that movement ahead of you preps the body ahead of time. Expecting combat is a good idea too.

On the body side, I would squat into a slav chair and tense my joints (including SI Joint) while stretching out slightly for wiggle room by increasing internal pressure and expanding, NOT by relaxing. I stayed firm and tense and felt like and I could see yellow fire erupting from my body in the periphery of my vision (mind's eye I guess, I was doing some visualization for the planning). It was all about building internal pressure, power, energy and fortitude (durability). "oooh relaaax you'll wear yourself out" <- never listen to an old, weak, or slow person about how to live EVER. "ooh tendinitis" <- Your joints are loose; you don't active-stretch so you don't know how to engage your muscles near the end of your range of movement – try doing a front back split and holding yourself up by your legs while keeping your legs and body straight, and you'll realize quickly that you can fuck your joints up if you don't focus and do it properly.

Gymnasts have the strongest joints out there. They perform straight arm movements for endurance and strength, for christ' sake. From their joint's perspective, they're 'living on the edge', the edge of glory. You don't learn how to fight destructive forces from the safety of your home, do you? So you have to properly train your body in THE DANGER ZONE. For the lower body, holding up splits is good, and glute ham raises or holds and quad raises or holds (progressively).

As well, it's about balancing the load on opposite sides of the limb. If you do push ups, you want to engage the biceps and shoulders, rather than focusing on the triceps. If you focus on the triceps, you want to engage the lats, rear delts, teres major, traps, and core more. People who don't do very high reps will often have the focus and intensity but not the experience necessary to balance these things out. When you perform very high reps, your body identifies imbalances in the first hundreds of reps, and then fixes them in the next hundreds. The stronger you are, perhaps the shorter this period is, I don't know. The body should act all together, not separately. Isolating things all the time (already a habit of the mind, which bleeds into bodily behavior) will fuck up your joints, unless you already have very strong joints that you workout more full-body or limb otherwise.

When running, don't run where your flesh flops up and down like you're some heavy fat giant jiggling across the plains. You want to be 'tiny' and compact. No flesh should be jiggling or going up and down. Only your hair (shave your head). You should look the same moving as when stationary, in other words. Otherwise, you're just falling onto your joints heavy and clumsy like a baffoon trying to explode their knees as quickly as possible. Even if you're 200 lbs, run as light and controlled as possible. Anything else is lazy and dangerous. You basically want fixed joints, supple strong muscle; though the stronger and more fixed the joints, perhaps the harder and denser the muscles will be.

drugs and mental health

Are there any drugs that don't lead to a lazy lifestyle? I'm interested in taking away the numbness from "depression", being ok with sitting down to study or read and other things I just don't want to do. I don't want to get dependent or take something neurotoxic like adderall.

For instance my routine is lifting and going for a run every day. I never miss a day because I feel guilty. But every time I'm going into it there's dread - not even because I'm pushed too hard, just because I have severe motivation issues. My sister doesn't get it, she got me into the running. For her she kept up the running and as soon as she could run without feeling like dying she fell in love with it. I run 5km every day and that's all I felt pushed to be able to do, but I haven't in 6 months haven't taken it any further and it's as miserable to me now as it was when I started.

I guess I'm looking for an anti-depressant, but I'm not willing to go through the psychiatrist route of him only prescribing 1 drug at a time, forcing me to take it like a guinea pig. I've been on 2 ssri's (sertraline and prozac) and while I see the benefits it's not the kind of therepeutic drug I'm looking for.

All about appearances

So recently I've become fascinated by the concept of appearances and how they generally affect our interactions with others. I took the classic one-to-ten scale and

inserted my own brief descriptions under each number (except four and six), giving a basic idea about what it's like to be any particular one. I figure appearance is like a bell curve (think IQ scores) with something like 65% of people falling in the four to six range, another 20% as threes or sevens, 10% as twos or eights, over 4% as ones or nines, and the remaining >1% as zeros and tens. I'm also aware that age plays a factor in appearance, and that the older we get our scores naturally "droop down" so to speak, though this may not always be the case. Feel free to offer constructive criticism, make a better chart if you can or just call it garbage.

I'd also like to know what other anons think about various methods of improving one's appearance. From experience I can attest to the importance of the clothes one wears. I used to go grocery shopping for years wearing sweats and a nondescript hoodie (I'm a guy). It took me a long time to actually notice how strangers (mainly women) would shoot me quick nasty looks or avoid eye contact. I decided to start "dressing up" one day (decent jeans and a nice shirt) to see how much of a difference it would make. It made a big difference. No more random evil eyes, no more pretending I wasn't there, and the cashiers were nicer right off the bat. It appears that people really do judge the book by its cover most of the time.
