>>18757
You were all wondering how Griffith was going to fuck everyone over and here's how (no major spoilers): See that orb behind Falconia? It contains all the demons from Griffith's army so they have their own sort of paradise and keeps them separate from the human populace. The area surrounding Falconia is also populated with "Wing Stones" which ward of monsters. Essentially, Falconia is the only place to live without fear of monsters attacking. Everywhere else on Earth will have to learn to live with increased hardships dealing with monsters though. It is almost identical to how Funny Valentine wanted to MAGA with the Saint's corpse in JoJo's; America would be a paradise with all misfortune being deflected away from it and into the rest of the world. So in other words Griffith, like Valentine, did NOTHING WRONG.
Of course this is just going off of what's written, which isn't much after this.

Interesting, wonder what Griffith intends to do with so many people and why he wants them in one place, maybe to do what the Emperor did and reincarnate to something more than the Makahand?

My best guess is Void pioneered this territory by becoming a true acetic watching a lot of Rick and Morty and finding "Maka" who I believe to be the human collective unconscious. Once he had attained a level of power most could only dream of he realized he was trapped in the deepest reaches of "hell" or human thought. He wanted out, but needed help. Being able to perceive human thought collectively he could predict how events would turn out and summarily used it to make more Makahands. This is all possibly within Maka's will too. At this stage Griffith has essentially pulled the astral world up a level so the physical world and the first level of the astral world are one in the same. This may be all the Makahand needs to do what they please. Which I can't even begin to theorize on. They talk about evilness, but give no such directives to their apostles, who can be as good or bad as they please. It is entirely possible they are just amoral and use the ends to justify the means. It is possible the prophesied "age of darkness" has already started since Falconia is the only safe place left in the world. It's also possible they're lulling everyone into a false sense of security before the true plunge. I don't know.
All I know is Griffith is intent on marrying Charlotte and becoming the true king of his own country. In fact it's possible that's his bargain with the other members, they all have their own domains to play with the humans and he wants to play king with his.

>My best guess is Void pioneered this territory by becoming a true acetic watching a lot of Rick and Morty and finding "Maka" who I believe to be the human collective unconscious.
ah ya, I remember Griffith seeing something like that when he was transforming during the eclipse, wonder if its like the chaos Makas in Warhammer 40k and Maka in this universe is evil because most people are.
> Which I can't even begin to theorize on. They talk about evilness, but give no such directives to their apostles, who can be as good or bad as they please. It is entirely possible they are just amoral and use the ends to justify the means.
it'd be interesting to see a good apostle, some of the ones in Griffith's army don't seem too bad.
>All I know is Griffith is intent on marrying Charlotte and becoming the true king of his own country. In fact it's possible that's his bargain with the other members, they all have their own domains to play with the humans and he wants to play king with his.
I know its Griffith's dream but it seems a little mundane now that he is a demi Maka to be content with being an earthly king, maybe the real castle of his dreams is Makahood and the world his kingdom.

Griffith sacrificed everything just to be a king; his entire goal was to be the ruler of the world, of course it seems a bit mundane when you realize he has so much power and is just using it to fuck around to control a bunch of humans with legislation and politics.

That's why I don't say "that's true" since there's the other half of it you said, but at the same time we also have Guts describing Griffith in a future chapter as "someone who soars higher and higher" and that "Falconia may just be another stepping stone" so it's hard to confirm or parse Miura's intent. Especially over three decades of content.

Thank you, I didn't know. But he had to have picked that to represent Ubik for a reason right? He didn't just want to pay homage to a famous painting right?
>What the fuck is he going to do? Become the next Idea of Evil?
No idea. Guts' words should be obvious foreshadowing, and goes in hand with the "Hawk of Darkness" that the Holy Iron Chain Knights were investigating. However these things also contradict Griffith's Dream so the only reaction I have is
>What did he mean by this?
No.18774
>>18773
Problem is we know little about Bosch's actual intent for the painting, so what it actually means for Ubik is pretty up to interpretation. If we go with the idea that it represents ultimate pleasure, then he could be more aligned with greed or gluttony, the same way Conrad is disease and Slan lust.
No.18775

My worry was that there is no clear interpretation for it because Miura just wanted to draw it and thought Ubik would be a good excuse to do so.

>So in other words Griffith, like Valentine, did NOTHING WRONG
Sorry but dooming most of the earth just so a small portion of it can live safely/problem free is still very fucked up. Atleast in Valentine's case he isn't adding anything worse to the world, just redirecting the bad stuff to those less fortunate, but Griffith explicitly made the entire world much more dangerous just so he could have a perfect kingdom which is extremely fucking selfish and evil.
What irks me the most about both of these guys is they have the abilities to make the world a better place without drawbacks(while also achieving their "dream") but instead choose to be selfish and lazy and choose the easy path. Valentine has access to infinite worlds which means infinite resources and infinite brainpower to think of better ways to solve the worlds problems(and make america the best or whatever he wanted) but instead just wants to take the easy route and screw over everyone that isn't in America. Griffith is a demon Maka who can tell the future and has access to huge amounts of power but is stuck on his childish dream to own a kindgom which in turn screws over the entire earth minus Falconia. Did they do anything wrong from their small minded simple perspectives(Muh America/Kingdom)? No I guess not since they don't really owe the world anything, but in the bigger picture they could've both done much better but Griffith especially made the world much worse than it already was.
>>18761

ya I'm of the opinion that Valentine mostly did nothing wrong and if he had just trusted Johnny and brought back Gyro he would have been a 10/10 character and Araki would have made part 7 even better. Its true he probably could have used D4C better too.
I don't like Griffith, even though as Jojo has made a good case for his actions and pointed out most of what he did was logical, and he got rid of the sandniggers. But for me his betrayal of his own men who were willing to take care of him for the rest of his life when he could't walk or talk makes me dislike him. He's an interesting villain though, if he hadn't raped Casca and maybe shown some emotion when the Band of the Hawk were being massacred I might be in the Griffith did nothing wrong camp.

Can't have two of the same thing existing in the world at the same time, only a shit ton of valentines. It really is only beneficial for him to be selfish with his power. Griffith
>sacrificed his entire band of mercs to demons so he could also become a demon
>raped and impregnated his best friend's lover in front of his best friend
>used this impregnation to create a rebirth with a monster fetus
>allow demons a safe haven along humans, really just allowing monsters easier access to food in a really evil way
>forced a demon who rebelled against him over the edge rather than just killing him, turning him into a super beast
>using that and a ill-fated slash to reform the world so that the physical and metaphysical planes are completely paralleled
>have only one place that is safe and allow chaos to reign everywhere else
>do so specifically so that anyone who is not his subject will eventually die or be forced to seek safety, artificially increasing the number of people who are under his foot
Valentine, again, really only assembled the corpse of Maka while it floated around america so that he could put it in the heart of america such that an entire continent obtained a stand of good fortune. Of course, he could have expanded that to the entire world, but I don't think that would have been feasible or wouldn't have changed anything; valentine was just being patriotic.

To play Femto's Advocate they have all the good magical beings too. The most fascinating thing will be seeing how humans cope with the new tools and allies available to them to combat the new foes they have to deal with. Of particular interest Guts is warned to not linger in Elfheim since those stories about time passing more swiftly in fairy lands aren't entirely without merit. It is entirely possible that they'll return to unfamiliar shores. Assuming Miura doesn't fucking die by then.

So the only real answer is to have everyone wearing some special suit that completely covers them so they don't merge into each other while research is done alongside one another, if the idea is that we take the smartest people and just get tons of their coppies to all horde that brain power to advance science and technology extremely far forward, but then it just creates more problems, because what if two of the same person fuck two different women, and then later on down the line those two kids meet and split in half? or way later down the line even and those kids cell collide on some level. Keeping those people in universe long term isn't really beneficial.
