But their vocalizations do seem to mean specific things which can be understood if you take the time to learn. Ash understands Pikachu just fine when he "Pikapi!"s.

So obviously "gronk" is a language you just need to learn it first.

You guys do remember that after communicating with your Pokemon for a while, trainers can begin and then eventually fully understand the Pokemon and their feelings? I mean, it would have to happen over a long period of time, but then again relationships develop over a long perios of time.

Some of them might be able to communicate telepathically. For the rest, well, you'd better hope that one of those corporations like Devon or Silph finally make good on a device that lets you translate pokespeak.
