It might just that xenophilia for these colorful mon is my (possibly autistic) prefered form of escapism.
The thing about it:I just can' fantasize doing it with a women without feeling anxious.
Relationships (sexual or not) in real life are complicated and potentially for harmful, I don't want to undermind that awful shit happends to people by fantasizing about it like nothing bad is possible when it's about me, weither or not me or the partner could become harmed, I just can't separate my feelings about that enough to actually enjoy it.
But with pokemon? Well It's not because I'm deluding myself into thinking I could actually fuck a fictional character, in fact: the fact that it can never happend IRL is precisely why I can enjoy it as a fantasy, I can daydream the good without worrying about the bad actually happending.
It's the same reason why having fantasy about killing zombies, moives or vidya, feels great. You basicly have the feelings of a badass for being able to kill something human like you, but you don't feel guilty for it because those zombies were essentially:Already dead before you killed them a second time, so you won't worry that your goddame insane for feeling good about that.
