Any comedy anime similar to either of these?

Or just any comedy anime you think everyone should watch.

 No.5924

>>5921

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and Joshiraku, you must be pretty Japanese to get the jokes though. The former is vaguely similar to Cromartie.

Nichijou and Nichibros

Uhh, some other animefag could probably answer better.

>>5924

I dunno bout Joshiraku, but SZS is border-line unwatchable without wikipedia open and 200wpm type speed. Hell, the manga is only readable because of TN notes, and it fills the fucking borders. It's the exact opposite of a gag manga, which is what he's looking for. It's vaguely similar to cromartie because it's in a school, and that's it.

What are some Animes about games, because I love games.

stuff like Dangan Ronpa or Kaiji, or no game no life.

Not stuff like SAO or accel world, that's just generic shounen with a videogame setting. They do jack shit to actually define the rules of the system.

Fucking hell askin for shit on /a/ has more bureaucratic red tape than the dmv.

Cant this there, use proper format and submit it only between 13-17.

No fucking wonder the /a/ and all related boards are fucking dead, coz you keep the cuckchan retard culture

Hey anon, you still here? I'm >>5461 and just now remember typing this in a hurry and then forgetting about it. If you really get into slayers watch it by airing order. Also, something you might like is Record of Lodoss War, but the OVA. If you get into that too the mangas (there are several) are really nice.

Since I see you liked Overlord, Log Horizon also has cool magic shit while being the best trapped in a video game type of anime because it actually uses game mechanics.

Fullmetal Alchemist (the manga, or if you prefer watching the fights in anime which are amazing then Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood) doesn't deal with magic, but rather with alchemy. You might like it since it has great fights and the alchemy is fucking awesome. Next thing you know you'll be looking for more sickass alchemists instead of sickass wizards.

Konosuba is airing this season and it has EXPLOSION LOLI so yo might enjoy that.

Trinity Seven is magic school harem like any else, except the main character actually has a personality instead of being a bland MC. The magic is fun here, although it's short.

Rakudai might not be your thing, but it had some great fights so you can only watch those parts.

Fairy Tail has wizards but they're mostly punch wizards so that might not be what you're looking for.

And lastly a manga, Dungeon Meshi. It doesn't have much sickass wizards, but it's a must read fantasy manga if you love fantasy, especially D&D kind of fantasy. The elf is a wizard and she's nice.

No problem anon. There's a fantasy chart in the chart thread, it has a brownish outline if I remember correctly. Can't find it now since I'm posting in a hurry again.

I also forgot to mention if you're a /tg/ weeb you should read Hakumei to Mikochi. A comfy little manga about inchlings.

 No.5673[Reply]

So I just watched Oda Nobuna no Yabou (pic related), and although it was too short for having so many characters, it got me wondering if there were any more "serious" historical anime, rather than ones where everyone is a cute girl.

Cause for the Sengoku period, I've found a shounen about a ninja wannabee (Flame of Recca), a different time traveling one where all the warlords are girls (Sengoku Collection), a different time traveling one where the warlords are not girls (Nobunaga Concerto), and one about people switching bodies or something (Samurai Deeper Kyo).

There are probably fucktons more, and I was wondering if there were any good animes recommended about historical events that are presented more or less seriously (regular anime stuff excepted I guess).

Or you know, historical anime general.

 No.5908

I was going to make a thread asking for pretty much the same thing, so bumping this one instead.

 No.5917

I think mangas are gonna be easier to find.

Are you looking for something like Vagabond and Lone Wolf and Cub?

Also check out the chart thread, there might be something there.

Grab a handful of your top recommendations and turn them into a half-assed flowchart. Use any criteria you want.

Here's mine for 1-cour shows:

"Yes" -> (B)

"No" -> (C)

(B) Should there be loads of combat scenes in relation to everything else?

"Yes" -> (D)

"No" -> Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet OR Toaru Hikuushi e no Koiuta (The Pilot's Love Song)

(D) What tone should the combat have?

"Lighthearted" -> Girls und Panzer OR Concrete Revolutio

"Gritty" -> Sidonia no Kishi (Knights of Sidonia)

(C) Should it be "artsy"?

"Yes" -> (F)

"No" -> (G)

(F) Should it be surreal?

"Yes" -> Paranoia Agent OR Serial Experiments Lain

"No. Keep it down to earth." -> (H)

(H) What tone should it have?

"Angsty" -> Aku no Hana (Flowers of Evil)

"Uplifting" -> Ping Pong: The Animation

"Introspective" -> The Tatami Galaxy

(G) Should the setting be exotic or familiar?

"Exotic" -> (I)

"Familiar" -> (J)

(I) Should the mood be upbeat or subdued?

"Upbeat" -> (K)

"Subdued" -> (L)

(K) How exotic should the setting be?

"Relatable" -> Rolling Girls

I'm trying to remember the name of a manga that I read some time ago, but I can't recall it.

It was a Sci-Fi manga about really powerful aliens invading the solar system and humanity fighting a losing battle. It took only 20 aliens to destroy the Earth, and they did it in a shonen-style physical beatdown. The aliens themselves were weird and relied on a ship to support themselves in. The ship was nigh-indestructable though, so humans had to infiltrate it in the inside. However, the problem was that the aliens eventually started to mimic human forms, complete with the memories and personalities of the victims that were brought inside. In addition, the aliens were called the "white ghana," or something similar.

It depends on the show.

Generally speaking they are all terrible.

If you can go for something like FFF, Mazui or Doki then you probably should.

Otherwise Crunchyroll Horriblesubs will be sufficient most of the time.

 No.5700

I'll be hijacking this thread for a minute.

What should be the best subs for Symphogear? Someone already checked HorribleSubs(They didn't translate the songs) and Commie(Did some rather questionable changes).

I'd also like more info on subbers in general, there are a lot but people mainly focus on HorribleSubs and Commie when talking about those.

 No.5891

Absolutely don't use commie.

Download the same episode with different subs and compare.

Horrible subs should be your last resort, but it isn't really horrible. Not as horrible as Commie at least.

 No.5893

>>5700

There really isn't much to say, it's basically

>do anything you can to avoid commie

>barring commie, pick any sub group over HorribleSubs/Crunchyroll rips

Doki and Coalgirls are usually good, FFF is a mixed bag, had some memesubs akin to Commie from them, and there's way too many others that only did a handful of shows to list them all. I see two Symphogear subs aside from HS/commie on AB, GetWet and Infallible-subs, the former being more popular.

Yeah. While I enjoyed Subete F ni Naru it was really poorly written and the character were pretty bland.

It also thinks of itself as being way clever than it actually it is most of the time.

Rokka no Yushaa wasn't perfect but it was often entertaining and intriguing.

The bad thing about it was that stupid ending.

Hello /rec/.

I've been living a terrible life for the last month. I still don't have internet in my new apartment and it might need another couple of weeks. I've already watched Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu (which was as good as everyone says) and spent some time with the VN Grisaia but I'm looking for more now.

Since I've already watched most of the must see anime, I'm going with a genre I haven't really touched: Mecha.

What I've seen is:

NGE, Aldnoah Zero, Knights of Sidonia, Gurren Lagann and that's about it.

VN-wise I'd like to ask for Mystery stuff, not this typical "choose a girl with a horrible, sad past". In general It would be okay if there was a love interest or a little bit of ecchi but I'd like to refrain from H-stuff. Only read Remember11 and Ever17.

Thanks in advance!

G-Senjou fits this perfectly except it has h-scenes. You can just skip them tho.

so, I have in mind to make an amv. it'll be a nice complicated one what'll use a bunch of different sources. my issue is; I only have, like, two anime in my collection that would fit the song I plan to use, and I can only think of one other one to use.

my request to y'all's is to listen to the attached song, and tell me whatever anime it makes you think of, for any point in the song.

thanks

Dude and a sister move into a small town (where they supposedly lived before) after their parents die or some shit (something happens with parents). Dude remembers that he got raped there when he used to live there by this one girl that he meets again. He then proceeds to form an incestuous relationship with his silver-haired sister who was ill.

Would be a lot of help if you could tell me if you remember. Pic unrelated
