GREETINGS CITIZENS OF THE FUTURE YEAR 2001
I've already gone through the synopses of 2001 shows that sound unique or that catch my interest. However, I don't want to miss any sleeper hits and I'm always open to broadening my genre horizon. Could any hardcore weaboo out there please pick out the shows that either
1. Have above-average execution, in the most general sense.
2. Transcend their genre.
Here's a list of the shows that didn't make my first pass. Just pick out the ones that jog your memory in a good way.

hey /rec/. i don't know shit about anime but I've seen a couple that I really liked, and I was hoping you could steer me towards your favourite(s). I'm looking for something with a more realistic bent to it - I liked Patlabor because not only did it have huge badass mechs but it was also very rooted in the idea of policing with them, it wasn't just huge robots for the sake of huge robots, for example. Ideally I would be hoping for some kind of war anime, that has a bit more of a focus on the soldiers rather than the chosen one who is the unstoppable hero. I also see plenty of screenshots posted on other boards of vaguely Third-Reich looking badass guys in badass armour hauling around MG42s, I'd be interested in that too. Hit me with your best shot and thanks for helping me out here.
A list of the animes I've watched/enjoyed off the top of my head:
>Space Battleship Yamato (i love sci-fi, and loved that it spent an almost equal amount of time on different crew members)
>the stuff everyone has seen (Akira, Evangelion, Cowboy Beepboop, Ghost in the Shell etc)
>I really liked Rurouni Kenshin when I was 16... but I liked a lot of bad things when I was 16 so don't know if I should rewatch it
>Ninja Scroll
>Porco Rosso
>Patlabor
>Final Fantasy Unlimited (I don't know why)
Katanagatari OST Collection
Please seed the subj, if you have it.

When it was just uploaded I’ve downloaded completely only the ‘Original Soundtrack’, both parts, and it was around 700 MiB of the two gigs. And afterwards I listened to what was downloaded only partially, and now I want it full. I’m particularly interested in ‘Zantou Namakura’ Audio CD which contains ‘Refulgence’.
Historical Anime
So I just watched Oda Nobuna no Yabou (pic related), and although it was too short for having so many characters, it got me wondering if there were any more "serious" historical anime, rather than ones where everyone is a cute girl.
Cause for the Sengoku period, I've found a shounen about a ninja wannabee (Flame of Recca), a different time traveling one where all the warlords are girls (Sengoku Collection), a different time traveling one where the warlords are not girls (Nobunaga Concerto), and one about people switching bodies or something (Samurai Deeper Kyo).
There are probably fucktons more, and I was wondering if there were any good animes recommended about historical events that are presented more or less seriously (regular anime stuff excepted I guess).
Or you know, historical anime general.

I'm trying to remember the name of a manga that I read some time ago, but I can't recall it.
It was a Sci-Fi manga about really powerful aliens invading the solar system and humanity fighting a losing battle. It took only 20 aliens to destroy the Earth, and they did it in a shonen-style physical beatdown. The aliens themselves were weird and relied on a ship to support themselves in. The ship was nigh-indestructable though, so humans had to infiltrate it in the inside. However, the problem was that the aliens eventually started to mimic human forms, complete with the memories and personalities of the victims that were brought inside. In addition, the aliens were called the "white ghana," or something similar.
Anime and VN rec
Hello /rec/.
I've been living a terrible life for the last month. I still don't have internet in my new apartment and it might need another couple of weeks. I've already watched Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu (which was as good as everyone says) and spent some time with the VN Grisaia but I'm looking for more now.
Since I've already watched most of the must see anime, I'm going with a genre I haven't really touched: Mecha.
What I've seen is:
NGE, Aldnoah Zero, Knights of Sidonia, Gurren Lagann and that's about it.
VN-wise I'd like to ask for Mystery stuff, not this typical "choose a girl with a horrible, sad past". In general It would be okay if there was a love interest or a little bit of ecchi but I'd like to refrain from H-stuff. Only read Remember11 and Ever17.
Thanks in advance!
so, I have in mind to make an amv. it'll be a nice complicated one what'll use a bunch of different sources. my issue is; I only have, like, two anime in my collection that would fit the song I plan to use, and I can only think of one other one to use.
my request to y'all's is to listen to the attached song, and tell me whatever anime it makes you think of, for any point in the song.
thanks
Looking for an anime
Dude and a sister move into a small town (where they supposedly lived before) after their parents die or some shit (something happens with parents). Dude remembers that he got raped there when he used to live there by this one girl that he meets again. He then proceeds to form an incestuous relationship with his silver-haired sister who was ill.
Would be a lot of help if you could tell me if you remember. Pic unrelated

I can't remember what it's called
But here is a description
It had a cowboy guy
now this guy loses his wallet but the biker would of gave it too him but thought he was a prick
The biker with red hair and blue jacket ripped off sleeves
It had a pair of twin reporter doing some shit on a bathroom demon one of them were killed by a elusive bathroom murder who turned out to be a demon he used water to kill.
Then a demon was shot to death by the biker who might of been a demon too
any help would be appreciated

help finding anime, probably short
There's this anime I remember watching on youtube, I don't remember if it was the first episode of something or just a short. I'm not even sure of the sex of the characters, although it probably was as I'm going to describe; and this has been rattling in my head for years as I've wanted to remember what it was.
I remember it being from late into the 2000s, maybe early 2010s. A girl and a boy, in modern Japan. They have a romantic scene with a confession, don't remember who's confessing to whom, and as they get ready to face a bright new life, they notice one of those big screens on a building with the face of the girl- it seems the rest of the world has declared war on that girl for some reason. The rest I just remember it being the boy and the girl running away.
Does any of this sound familiar to anyone? A David Bowie for your troubles.
http://exhentai.org/g/778063/b8844ff3ee/
anyone have an english version of this? Been looking everywhere
Is there any anime, which would contain scenes like these on the picture, but it will somehow lead into hentai/ecchi scene like on the last picture?
What I want is already on the pic, but just for clarification, there should be:
>loli or teenage girl
>one lonely girl or two girls
>some sort of room with bed
>and it should take place in the night
I love these nightly, sleeping scenes of cute lolis, but i havent seen any with some ecchi. It should be normal for them to play with themselves at least a little, so why we cant see it?
Shows to watch with friends
Okay so me and my mates we watch anime together on occasion. So far we've watched baccano, haruhi, cromartie high, the first season of a certain magical index, black lagoon, and the devil is a part timer.
So what we're doing now is watching the first episodes on a bunch of series to find a new worthwhile show. so far we've seen the first episodes of; ghost stories, excel saga, great teacher onizuka, beserk, now and then here and there, votoms, condor hero, dragon drive, paranoia agent, soul hunter and zenki. Beserk is winning for best show currently. There is about 100+ more first episodes to get through.
What would you suggest we watch at least the first episode of? It can be from any genre and any age. Suggest must sees, staples, hidden gems, terrible but worth laughing at, anything.
And you might think I'm a pleb but having a English dub is a positive, as we joke a lot while watching shows.
ps. yes this is a cross post from a after they explained things to me
Looking for a certain sentai AMV
Not sure if sentai would go here but it's basically live action anime and there's no better place.
I'm looking for a Gingaio AMV similar to the one here (same song), but edited way way better to match the music (maybe it was official promo music video or something) and obviously without korean subs.
It got taken down jewtube and I wasn't able to find it anywhere.
Anime/Manga Flowchart Thread
Flowcharts of recommended progressions through different anime series?
starting from entry level anime, and then leading to which anime to watch next depending on which aspects of that first anime you appreciated (or who you thought was best girl).
There's flowcharts asking what you want to watch, but maybe it would be good to have flowcharts that have different series that flow well off each other.
>e.g. Paprika features some surreal imagery, this prepares you for the art style of The Tatami Galaxy (although you might want to first make sure that you can quickly read subtitles /understand fast-talking japanese).
Hey /rec/, I'm looking for the name of a certain anime.
I saw the intro of it on halfchan's /f/ at least a year or two ago. It was pretty much focused on being "catgirls: the anime" and a big chunk of the characters (if not all of them) were lolis as well.
The theme was something Engrishy with one line being something along the lines of "nya nya, would you like to live with a cat?", I believe.
Thanks!
/a/ told me to go here instead.
MAKE ME CRY
Yep.
What I've watched:
Planetes (came close)
Your lie in April (didn't really come close)
Kids on the Slope (cried)
Welcome to the NHK (cried)
Anohana (came close)
Angel Beats! (came close)
Plastic Memories (didn't care; knew what was coming literally after the first 5 mins)
Ping Pong (no reason to cry)
Tatami Galaxy (again, no reason)
Another (no reason to)
So, I want you to give me something that will make me cry. I want to FEEL. Whether it makes me cry or not, I want to feel. Preferably though, give me something that will make me cry, also preferably not a cheap tear jerker like plastic memories. As you can see I've cried at anime that isn't really sad (Kids on the Slope, NHK) so it doesn't have to be sad or have a sad ending.
Show me what you've got.
Bullying/Ijime
I need anything related to bullying. VNs, oneshots, manga, eromanga. Anything.
I've read Koi no Katachi, Onanie Master Kurosawa and this too: http://g.e-hentai.org/g/595605/e845d0c9e0/ That's about it I think.
Sorry for being a faggot, but I don't have any particular request here. I'm just bored and looking for something cool that I haven't seen before. Has to be 15 episodes or less, and has to be really engaging aesthetically. Other than that, literally anything you can think of is fair game.
I'm just gonna post the shit on my MAL, which I approximately ranked in order of how much I liked it. So here goes nothing:
Bakemonogatari
.hack//Sign
Paprika
Steins;Gate
Ping Pong The Animation
Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

Bartender
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Cowboy Bebop
Grisaia no Kajitsu
Pleb tier request
Other than the obvious (i.e. Cowboy Bebop) I've never been that into anime but fairly recently I bothered to watch GuP and enjoyed it.
After that I've seen Gunslinger Girl, Sora no Woto and Upotte! . Any idea what to try next?
Girls and guns/war/tanks/violence would be nice. I'm sure this is fairly pleb-tier as taste goes but I'm new to this and all.
I wasn't a huge fan of Upotte since it went nowhere and was rather too reliant on fan service for my tastes but loved the other two.
Little girls and incest?
So. Two different requests, but, if you can fill both in the same anime series, a winrar is you. Looking for little girl animes, the lewder the better... And incest animes, like oreimo, ones with good story is good. Lewd is also a plus. Please help, your my only hope.
Is it possible to sort of prime yourself into a genre?
It's really hard for me to get into sci-fi, futuristic, mecha, cyberpunk, and space shows. I typically avoid most shows with those genres because it doesn't really interest me as much as folklore and the like. Because of this, I'm missing out on plenty of good shows, some of which are staple for anime viewers.
I've tried diving into certain shows but with no real success. Serial Experiments Lain was a chore to finish, I ended up dropping GitS, Ergo Proxy, and NGE, and realistically I probably won't even give LOGH or Planetes a shot.
So my idea is to start off on goofier, mixed-genre shows to see if I can learn to appreciate sci-fi shit. Like watching Cowboy Bebop and Space Dandy since they're both more comedy and adventure related and whatnot.
Any advice? What other shows should I be checking out here?
Weeaboo in Training
What are some good shows to watch for someone who's just getting into anime? I've seen a few interesting shows and decided to check the genre out, but none of my friends are really into it so I don't have anyone to get advice from.
If it helps, I tend to like complex storylines. I also liked Spirited Away, and my favorite non-anime genres are cyberpunk, sci-fi, and film noir.
ITT Manga and anime where females are useless, like in real life
I'm so sick and tired of feminist shit, I just want manga and anime where males are doing the fighting with bitches doing nothing more but support.
As it should be, as it is, in reality.
I'm tired of this "Strong independant" womyn crap.
So provide me manga and anime where men are men, and women are women.
Mind you I'm okay with SOME females being strong due to magic bullshit, but none of this crap where they're anywhere near as good as the top fighters bullshit.
I'm looking for an anime stand alone OVA, or at least I think it is, I've only seen it once; its about a teenaged boy that goes to a generic highschool and meets a girl whos sort of a social elite, shes had these dreams of a tower and vials in different colors and I think a song for her whole life and shes talked to doctors and recorded the song on her ipod and the doctors stuff on her ipod which she lends to the guy and he makes pictues and says that hes had the same dream to get into her pants, I can't for the life of me remember what its called.
pic unrelated
There are no booru tags for this
I have an odd and kinda specific fetish for canon used goods, or more specifically, cute second hand girls. Let me explain.
The girl should
>Be canonically non-virgin, either explicitly told or heavily implied
>The relationship in which she lost her virginity must be already over (or be a one night stand). If the girl is still dating her first boy, it doesn't count
>Rape doesn't count. To make it easier to understand, losing "virginity" as stated in the above rules only counts if the girl was willing (ie. if she got her hymen broken to rape, her "virginity" would be intact until she had consensual sex). Likewise, being raped while dating her first boyfriend doesn't count.
>The girl doesn't necessarily have to have dated more than one boy, or even having had sex with more than one boy although if she has some sexual experience, then it would be even better. What's necessary is that whoever she lost her virginity to, is no longer dating her. Bonus points if they have already moved on or if it's been a long time since then (mainly to avoid a drama-centered plot).
>If it's a hentai, it must be explicitly acknowledged that the first time she has sex on screen, she's not a virgin. Just not bleeding doesn't count, as sometimes authors decide to remove the blood but keep the character virgin
>It's preferable if the girl is already non-virgin from the moment the plot starts, but she may lose her virginity during the anime if the above conditions are met
>Bonus points if they are cute and not skanks
>They may be as fuck-happy as you want as long as they aren't skanks. They may be sluts, but classy sluts, as in being sex hungry beasts but acting like a normal woman when not in the bed. It is important to keep that cute and somewhat innocent façade towards the rest of the world, although they don't have to necessarily hide the fact that they aren't virgins
I am asking because it is really fucking hard to find something like this in the Japanese anime industry and nobody seems to have taken the time to make a list of characters like this. There are some resources as to which characters had sex at some point of their animes, but all characters who had sex seem to have done so to their current boyfriends, and they will probably end up getting married in the future
Pic unrelated. It is loosely implied in the light novels that Haruhi may not be a virgin depending on how you interpret some of her words, but it isn't heavily implied. Unrelated to her seiyuu Aya Hirano too, since she seems to be kind of a skank.
Comfy
Alright, y'all. It's that time of year, for me anyway. For the next four to sixth months, I'll probably spend my free time snuggled in a blanket, sipping nummy hot tea, eating yummy snacks and watching comfy stuff.
I'm looking to up my comfy anime game. Any recommendations? It can be a comfy art style, atmosphere, soundtrack, story, whatever. Doesn't have to be a series, but series are preferred.
Some examples of what I have in mind are things like Mushi-shi, Windy Tales, Natsume Yuujincho, and Non Non Biyori.
Thanks in advance.
I'm looking for Ecchie Anime with that lolibait kind of body (the kind in luckystar, achannel, Nanatsu no Taizai (The Seven Deadly Sins), and that rabbit cafe one) except with ridiculous breasts. So either lolibait or oppai loli.
Basically the anime version of this lady https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-ljr-M1vI4
So i made this post on /a/ like a dumb normie faggot who has never lurked moar. Anyways, some faggot made a thread talking about how he hadn't watched anime in a long while and wanted to get back into it by watching some of the new anime from this year and he included a list, which i will copy pasta.
My question is : where can i watch this online or download it without brbgib monies pls subtitles...? Like seriously, out of all the fucking uploads i can manage to only find Japanese audio with Brazilian subtitles... either way, here is the list:
Parasyte
Tokyo Ghoul

Death Parade
Log Horizon 2
Knights of Sidonia
Knights of Sidonia 2
Aldnoah Zero

Need some Recommendations for newer anime
Hi /rec/, I usually only check out Anime when it's word of mouth these days. That being the case and most my friends not watching anime anymore or not as much I've completely out of the loop on any cool new shit that has come out.
Is there anything this year so far that is a must watch?
Looking over the seasonal charts there's nothing that I've watched this year so far and nothing that catches my eye immediately. I am about to start Overlord however.
I think it's about vampires?
Hey I'm trying to find an anime I saw a clip of (didn't get a pic)
A car that's had its breaks cut is about to run into two little kids when a chick stops the car with her bare hands right before the car hits the kids but while she's stopping the car she snaps the kids necks. I think after she stops the car and realizes she hurts the kids she says something to the effect of "I don't want this power anymore"
It looked pretty recent and the way it was being talked about made it seem like its a simulcast, any help would be great.
War Anime
Can anons recommend some good war / hitman anime without mopey characters or one sided game-ending magical powers.
Mechs okay as long as everyone has them. Bonus points for tank/plane/infantry/ combined arms.
Preferred tech level: Modern and beyond.
I've seen the following:
Macross 0
Yukikaze
Legend of Galactic Heroes
Code Geass
Aldnoah Zero
Animes with fags
An anime with at least two explicit homosexuals that doesn't fall into common seme/uke bighands tropes.
Specific genres not required. Relationships not required.
The fags could be side characters, but there has to be at least two because token gay is an annoying trope.
Does such a gem exist?
Pic somewhat unrelated. Apologies for the meme border.
hey /rec/ I was wondering if anyone knew of a slice of life(ish) anime that features a pink haired girl and 1000000000000s of outfits (this pink haired girl wears tons of different outfits/clothes). Sounds vague but its all I remember of it and I think that it was a pretty popular anime too as I talked about it with a NEET before the end of 2014 about it and he was pretty casual.
thx
Visual Novel Suggestions
Hey, I'm looking for some suggestions on good Visual Novels to try. I played Katawa Shoujo back when it came out but never tried anything since. I'll pretty much try anything, so long as it has passable art and a good story I'll check it out. What do ye suggest?
I stopped watching anime some time after madoka first aired, so around winter 2010-2011, and now i started watching some shows again as i wanted to get back into it. So far i've seen:
Parasyte - 9/10
Tokyo Ghoul - 5/10
Log Horizon - 8/10
Psycho Pass - 8/10
Shingeki no Bahamut - 7/10
Death Parade - 7/10
Log Horizon 2 - 4/10
Knights of Sidonia - 9/10
Knights of Sidonia 2 - 8/10
Aldnoah Zero - 6/10
Aldnoah Zero 2 - drop it like it's hot
Kekkai Sensen - 5/10
Overlord - 9/10
Gangsta - 3/10
One-Punch Man - so far very nice
Gate - 9/10
Rokka no Yuusha - 8/10
All the ratings are my opinion. I got the suggestions from here from various threads. Based on those ratings and themes, is there anything else i missed in these years that i should watch?
I don't really like moe, harem is fine.
Somebody here recommended someone else Gun x Sword. I randomly chose to watch it and had a lot of fun. It had light-hearted humour, an interesting story, felt in general as if I was going on an adventure (almost like a jrpg) and it had mature characters with whom I could identify a bit, not 16yo school-fuckboiis.
Do you know similar anime?
Also general feelsy anime
Just finished Sakamichi no Apollon (Kids on the Slope) It was great. I want you to recommend me similarly great anime. Doesn't have to be about friendship/music, but something that will make me feel.. something.
And I don't want something that's just sad. I want to 'feel'. If you've watched this you'll understand what I mean. If not watch it. Just do it. Right now.
Hello /rec/, I have 3 requests:
-Where can I download RAW openings and endings? Nyaa isn't too helpful since most old openings and endings have 0 seeds.
-Where can I download the side story mangas of monster musume? I can only find them online AND only in spanish. Also, how long till the next manga chapter of monster musume?
Thanks in advice.
LNs
I was trying to download the ligh novel: "Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru" but God damn, I can't find a single good place to download LNs, with luck I can manage to find it on bakabt or nyaa, but rarely.
What's a good place to get them?
If possible I'd like Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru right away.
I read a bit of a manga a while back that was about 3 sisters whos elder brother was moving back home to live with them. It turned out he was transitioning from male to female and living as a woman. It was a drama with gender bender comedy and ecchi elements.
It wasnt amazing but i forgot the name and want to catch up, all i remember is the scan teams page was an image of a jar of honey.
I'm here asking for a recommendation for a comfy, complete romance mango; if possible outside the typical high-school setting, something long and if there's a slow romance progression I'll be extra happy(no "we'll-kiss-but-something-came-up-so-let's-postpone-it-to-the-last-chapter bullshit").
e.i, something a bit like Hyouka(anime) but closer to what I said above would be amazing.
Sorry for being too picky, but please let me know if something with at least a similar atmosphere comes to your mind.
/rec/ are there any Anime where people are going to college and doing college things like attending lectures and studying for tests and enjoying life?
I need something to inspire be not to be such a lazy sack of shit so I don't end up failing this semester because I burned out on academia 3/4ths of the way through. I know how easily manipulated I am so if I watch Anime where people are doing college things I'll feel like doing college things again.
I'm going to turn into a NEET at this rate.
extra small releases
help a brother out please
Where can I get extra small releases of anime? I mean something centralized like nyaa. I can barely find those on file sharing forums but only newest releases anything year older and im out of luck
I'm going through torrents but every release is 10+ gigs,
I really cant download those since my download speed suck and I have data cap on top of that
Manga for Japan
So Im going to Japan in a few days and Im loading up my tablet with Manga for the Trip. So far I have Prison School, the first few parts of JoJo aswell as Gintama. Is there anything else I should download? Im pretty set for Shounen, so I was looking for some other categories, maybe something Seinen, or some Horror etc.I was thinking maybe Osamu Tezuka's Phoenix?
Since this is a recommendation board, I recommend http://samachan.org/a/ - it's a great place for discussing anime and stuff.
No Need For Recommendations
Hey /rec/, surface level faggot here asking for advice on the Tenchi series.
When I was a babby I loved the Tenchi OVA and Tenchi Universe, and after going back to them recently know that it still holds up for me. Problem is that the series runs in such a way that all the runs have little or no bearing on each other, and I want to avoid venturing out only to get another Tenchi in goddamn Tokyo.
So /rec/, what series in this clusterfuck of a continuity are considered good? Which are best avoided? I've looked around and read that later runs have some crazy shit involving Washuu, Mihoshi, and Mihoshi's mom. Which ones would I need to get those stories?
Also any help on the manga side would also be great. I used to have a single volume where the group were traveling from planet to planet for some reason, being chased by a cyborg bounty hunter the whole way. They had episodic shit based on where they touched down; like a story where they were imprisoned by a king of some random-ass planet, but found an out via the king having a kink for dominatrices and Ayeka being pretty good with a whip. Anyone know what the fuck this was? I want it back.
Okay so,
I'm not extremely new to the Anime/Manga world,
but i've always been more of an onlooker to the entire thing.
I want to start getting into it, care to list some Anime/Manga you think would be worthwhile? Im into the action genre, The only non action oriented anime i've ever successfully got through and episode for was Casshern SiNS, but there's still fighting in it.
I'd like it if the main protagonist wasnt super fucking mary sue like IChigo Naruto or Goku, because that ruins the story for me.
Don't recommend attack on titan.

What are the best mecha anime out there?
I really enjoyed
>Gun X Sword
>Majestic Prince
but I can't seem to find some other good mecha anime.
Gundam is a common one many people have seen here or there, but heard some versions are more action packed than others.
also heard alot of good things about neon genesis evangelion.
but I'm curious if I'm missing anything, I'm sure that I am.
anyone have any really good favorite giant robot anime recommendations?
thanks /rec/
Ok guys this should be an easy one
I am looking for a specific doujin, here are some things I remember about it
>three girls, 1 girl is quite tall and high test, 1 who is quite lewd with glasses, and 1 who is skinny
>the lewd one takes photos of guys who she jerks off
>the skinny one is the sister of one of the guys they jerk off
I will bump with more shit a remember
What are the best Tenchi Muyo's? please recommend?
I'm afraid to look up tenchi muyo because I don't think a wiki will do it justice. I'm hoping that someone who has watched tenchi muyo can tell me from their own point of view what tenchi muyo is all about. I have seen parts of episodes very long ago but never understood what was going on.
if it's good, I really want to watch it.
please help?
Does anyone know where I can watch all the Attack on Titan OVA's and live action movies?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Attack_on_Titan_episodes
is there a website that is legal to watch them? is there a place to buy the movies and ova episodes?
VN reccomendation
I want to get into VNs and since I don't really know a better place to ask for recommendations I'll post here.
I looked through a few charts and tried some of the things I saw there, but I found most of them to be horribly written/translated. The only one I really liked was, unexpectedly Katawa Shoujo, Hanako best route, which to me seemed to have great stories and themes for all characters and an mc that mostly acts like a normal human being.
I don't care about voice acting too much, but it's a bonus. I'm not looking for specific genres and I couldn't care less about how lewd it is, or what gameplay elements it has either. I like having as many multiple choices that will either affect the story or at least seem important at that point, but it's not exactly mandatory. What I want is a story that doesn't look like fanfic written by a 15 years old and likable/interesting characters. Basically well-written VNs.
Hi /rec/
I enjoy playing card games from time to time, and always thought that watching a show about card games might be fun.
But I stayed away from the genre for such a long time, that I do not know where to start with. Of if there are indeed any good card games anime.
I've always wanted to see something that could get me into a game, but also surprise me with some interesting strategies.
Is there a card game show with some actually intelligent strategies? Preferably with a protagonist that isn't a complete hothead
I'm a complete newfag when it comes to this so I'm willing to watch anything.
I'm mainly talking about CCG's but if there is a card anime based around let's say: Poker, then I'm also completely willing to watch it
recommend me manly animu (preferably not mango, i get headaches from reading it)
i've already watched all of jojo, berserk, hajime no ippo, hokuto no ken, souten no ken, jin roh
finished watching overlord, read all of the translated LN
i just started one punch man, read the mango
is there anything else with really powerful and manly characters?
Normie-Friendly
Normalfag-friendly animu thread. Watching Death Note with said normalfag, will probably see if he likes Lupin III later I myself have only seen one episode. Please note that I am also completely new to animu, I'm watching (on my own) Dragonball not Z, the original for the first time, and I know of Lupin III because I very vaguely remember seeing it on toonami when I was young.
Hey /rec/, I need you guys' help with a bet.
So apparently
>Those who trying to catch two rabbits will just stumble over a stump and fall.
is supposed to be a quote from
>pic related
But I can't for the life of me remember it ever coming up when a I watched the series or read the translated LNs.
So I'm pretty sure it has some other source or something. Or at least I need to present something of the sort to collect.
Any and all wisdom appreciated!
So whats the best anime to beat off to? I recently discovered Koe De Oshigoto and it was a good time.
Any other sexually explicit anime out there? or even just really good fan service
I would prefer OVA or movies but any suggestions would be great
sorry for the pic I dont have many pics on my computer at the moment
Since in all likelihood TPP will fuck over anyone torrenting animu, I've been looking to stock up on some good anime. I imagine this thread could prove beneficial to other anons as well, so just recommend me (and others) series many are unaware of or that have been forget by time. And really anything that can't be found on sale English subbed, since with TPP you probably won't ever be able to watch them once it's in effect.
I recommend everyone watch Lain, Texhnolyze, and Haibane renmei at least once. There's no bluray of Haibane in the states, while the others are available in their best formats, so go with that first.
And while not a great anime by any stretch, but certainly enjoyable, Blood+. All of the dvd's have dubtitles, which are awful as they sound.
Ghost in the shell 2: Innocence is only available on dvd in Japanese, and the only subtitles are CC, so torrent the dual audio bluray while you can.
I liked Sunabouzu a lot. It had a real plot, good characters and managed to be genuinely funny.
Can you recommend animes with a similar protagonist and vibe? At this moment in time I can't stand the usual empty, nice guy harem fuckboi or the 14yo cool and mysterious half vampire half demon highschool faggot, it just doesn't work anymore. I need someone I can relate to in some way.
(Doesn't have to be the same setting)
Howdy /rec/. I'm relatively new to anime and many people have said I have shit taste. So far I've seen:
>Death Note (Started off fucking amazing but slowly became shit, the edgy/violent parts early on were my favorite.)
>Attack on Titan (First 5 or 6 episodes were 'okay' and then everything just collapsed into an ocean of shit. The animation was kind of neat.)
>Kill La Kill (Some parts felt a bit tryhard but it's easily my favorite anime.)
>Cowboy Bebop (I don't really like episodic shows that almost completely restart every episode, I only watched half of it. Even when the plot did progress it still felt boring.)
>Psycho-Pass (Didn't make it past episode 3, it's complete and utter shit.)
What are some animus I should watch to improve my taste?
This probably is asked a lot but can you guys recommend me the best anime films(yes, i know that best is subjective?
I haven't seen almost any anime. Naruto about 8 years ago and about 3 Miyazaki films. And I just saw Akira and it left me with a desire to watch more anime but less gory-ish.
I've read Wakabayashi Toshiya's 4-koma Collection recently, and I'm kind of pissed that I can't find anything similar to it. I LOVE the tone, style of humor, and most of all, I like how the author doesn't fuck around at ALL. Every panel is 0 to 60 in seconds flat.
Any other comedy series like this? Something that spends less time setting up jokes compared to the relentless punchlines.
Any Good Martial Arts Anime/Manga?
Hi there /rec/, I got my hands on the first season DVDs of Kenichi The Mightiest Disciple a while back. Can you give me recommendations for some fighting anime/manga pertaining to martial arts?
When I say martial arts, I'm not talking about typical fighting anime where the characters possess metahuman powers like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Fairy Tail, Bleach, One Piece, Fullmetal Alchemist, Soul Eater or Hunter X Hunter. I'm talking about Taekwondo, Kalaripayattu, Muay Thai, Krav Maga, Tahtib, Zulu Stick Fighting, Pankration, Glima, Savate, Sambo, Capoeira, Okichitaw, Boxing, Wrestling and pretty much any real life martial art you can think of.
Now I know that this thread exists: (http://8ch.net/rec/res/3608.html) But the OP in that thread specifically asked for realistic martial arts anime. I on the other hand don't care whether it's realistic or over-the-top. As long as most (if not all) of the characters know some non-fictional martial arts, it doesn't matter to me whether the martial artists themselves perform superhuman feats or not.
EMERGENCY
A girl I know is going to grorious Nippon for a holiday and asked me to come along.
I need to stockpile animu to pick from when we're at the hotel.
She's into supernatural and actiony shit, used to be into Naruto, but also likes slice-of-life and cute shit.
So far got:
>Steins;Gate
>Spice and Wolf
>FLCL
>Nichijou
Recommend me more similar good shit.
I'm looking for a very specific kind of anime or manga: I'm a sucker for works that play with the viewer's expectations, works that you could call "subversions" in the sense that things aren't what it may look at first.
I've already seen Eva, Madoka, WIXOSS and YuYuYu and I was wondering if there were others that use plot twists in similar ways or who have an unusual take on the genre they supposedly represent.
Manga/anime/VN welcome.
Front Mission - Dog Life& Dog Style
I stumbled upon this manga in a /pol/ thread and i found it right down my alley, i googled a bit but i'm unable to find the chapters above 41 in english, maybe some of you guys with more experience know where i might find those?
If not maybe you know some manga or anime with similar hardboiled military themes?
Can you recommend an innocent slice of life anime?
ive seen Non Non Biyori, Tonari No Seki-Kun, I Can't Understand What My Husband is Saying, Nichibros, and ive started on Himotou! Umaru-chan...
Basically im looking for Yotsubato in anime form. That kind of thing is really the only kind I enjoy watching anymore.
Videoplayers and Rips
I'm fairly new since I stopped streaming and mostly watch HorribleSubs and project-gxs (they just Hi10p, don't think its an actual rip group) I've heard a lot of negative things about HorribleSubs so I want to know whats a good rip to watch? I also wanna know what videoplayer you guys use, I use KCP (and K-Lite on another is there a difference?). What do you /rec/ommend?
Does anyone know where I could find the Hellsing OVA english dub on the web to watch or download?
I google the anime and find noting but fagamation legal verbage blocking me or the ultimate animoo series substituted in its place.
There are no links, downloads, torrents, or raw files for the taking. It's like CISPA totally scrubbed my favorite anime from the net.
If any of you know where I'd find it, please post.
I just tried watching working and i must say it doesn't suit my taste in the slightest.
I made it up to episode 5 which is the one point through the series where things just take a turn for the worse: annoying, stupid, too-strong-to-be-real girls just keep adding themselves to this mess, and the more there are the less I like it. I don't like anime where male characters are turned into living jokes meant for the girls to mess with, which is what put me off of this anime.
I like slices of life but this one was an huge putoff. I need something on the light side, something to watch while I'm bored and with nothing better to do that do not involve any girl-on-male bullying.
Any recommendations?
Hey all, I'm kinda unfamiliar with the majority of anime since I generally don't like most of it.
I'm sure you'll all think I have terrible taste in anime for the most part, but I'm pretty picky about this stuff.
But I've been watching and enjoying Food Wars for the last two days, and now I've gotten through what subbed episodes are available.
I'm kinda stuck after catching up with Food Wars and really feel like some more over-dramatized action woven into a "slice of life" type story.
Besides loving food and half naked girls, what I like the most about Food Wars is that it's basically Kill la Kill with food in stead of scissor swords.
If you need more hints about the stuff I like, my favorite anime series so far has been Black Lagoon and I also really enjoyed Hellsing Ultimate OVA and Attack on Titan.
I also like feels in my anime, but I can't stand when anime writers pretend to possess emotional (or philosophical) depth that they do not, so I prefer to keep that down to basics.
Horror/Spooky Manga/Anime
When it comes to Horror themed stuff i tend to like something either:
A-Actually quite horrifying and/or unsettling. Basically stuff that will at least make you cringe.
B-Not really something that would the reader would possibly find scary at all, but rather incredibly interesting in terms of just how creepy it is. Like your watching a harmless looking cartoon casually do things that would convince people that they're witnessing Satan if it was real.
What anime or manga would fit one of these, /rec/?
Anime Similar to Planetes?
Is there any anime out there like Planetes? I really enjoyed it and am watching it over and over. Is there any other anime like it about near future space and astronaughts and space stuff like Planetes?
Also, have the people behind Planetes done anything else?
I'm looking for a site where I can download Anime and Mangas.
I live in a shitty country with slow internet, the slowest of the continent, so watching anime and reading manga online is a pain in the ass, I'd rather download it, but I can't find a good place for it, since I have high standards about quality.
Subbed on english or spanish would be great, and if you can download it via torrent or from MEGA would be much better.
Manga like Prison School
Is there any manga that is similar to it? And I am talking about the humorous parts and the way they are presented, the way guys work together and fail for such trivial goals, slightly the same way in themes and even the way these alleged 15-17 year olds look like college students in their twenties.
I am coming off watching anime until it seemed nothing good left, subsequently reading books and still reading them with no quitting in sight, then re-watching the anime and seeing it as all simple and which wouldn't entertain me anymore even tho medium in itself has an appealing apply of artistic imagery that goes along with the story. But I don't know if saying this will help the matter other than wasting your time. But if you still read this then I am disappointed in fanservice for Hana, if it is indeed fanservice and not just a plot, though it does feel rather a predicament plot-wise in this situation with Kiyoshi and Hana.(Kate became somehow very appealing after Mari bluff).
Hey guys
I am looking for some realistic Martial Arts anime or Manga
I really like the Manga Teppuu and All Rounder Meguru and link related is probably my favorite boxing scene in an anime to give you an idea what I am after
Shows like Hajime No Ippo are fun but not really what I am looking for
It can be a sports Drama or an action show. I just want good realistic action
Question for fans of Team Four Star or any other "abridged series" related things
Important question directed at anyone who watches Dragon Ball Abridged. I remember, before they started the series, MasakoX, Vegeta and Lanipator did abridged versions of a few of the movies. These seem to have vanished since they started the show. Does anyone know if they still exist out there? I've never seen them, but I'd love to watch them (and archive them since nobody seems to want them to continue to exist and they're so easily lost).
Reading manga on tablet or e-reader
So, what's the best cheapos~ option to read manga on the go ?
I guess the major problem with e-readers is that you don't get the colors from the covers and inserts.
I looked into tablets, and by the size of a manga which is about 8 or 9 inches I guess it's best to choose a tablet of at least 8"
But what about screen quality, IPS, TN, resolution etc. ?
I have no clue if it changes anything when reading manga or not.
The tablet wouldn't be used for anything else, it would only serve to read manga while in bed or on the train, maybe some occasional anime watching.
So has anyone experience with this and could help me choose a proper device, maximum around 200 bucks ?
Also, using a specific app, or just visiting an online reading website ?
Hey /rec/. I'm looking for some mecha anime. Anyone know anything. I've seen and enjoy'd
>gunbuster
>diebuster
>code geass
>evangelion
>gurren lagann
>tiger and bunny if that counts as mecha
I've never seen anything related to gundam so i'd like to know a good jumping point too. I'd also like something with the same sort of style as pic related if possible. Thanks
Hey /rec/, could you give me recommendations based on the following list? Not in order of favoritism:
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (If it helps, I'm much more a fan of parts 2 and 6 onwards)
Cowboy Bebop (also if it helps, I liked the movie a lot more)
Princess Mononoke
FLCL
Dead Leaves
Yotsuba
Samurai Champloo
Afro Samurai
Panty and Stocking
Madoka Magica (including Rebellion)
KURO by soumatou
Tomo-chan wa Onnanoko!
Movie Find Request
Googling has been unsuccessful, so I turn to the experts.
It was made in the 80s/90s. The premise was that there are no more men in the human race because of interbreeding with aliens. At the end of the movie, a male human is born on earth again.
That's all I know, except that there might be another one that has to do with Mars. Does it ring any bells?
I'm getting into VN.
There's a few I want to download but I can't find links or torrents with seeds for them (including nyaa.se), I've tried http://erogedownload.com but it's bullshit and requires you to pay for >200Mb downloads (pretty much every VN).
What should I do, where do you get your VNs from.
Also:
What's your favourite VN, give brief description if possible.
NSFW version of Prison School
Hay guys, /h/ is pretty inactive so figured to just ask here instead. I just finished reading (translated) chapters of Prison School (http://www.mangatown.com/manga/kangoku_gakuen/).
As you know, it has scenes in which Hana tries to get Kiyoshi pee or do other things. I'm looking for h-manga with similar setting as this manga but where those scenes go further (big plus if it has a real plot and this is just a part of story).
It should have people in captivity possibly trying to escape, and a female warden or equivalent forcing single prisoner to do lewd things in secret from others (and they need or want to keep it a secret). Even better if she's embarrassed.
Anime torrents trackers
I lost my trackers.txt
I'm torrenting some anime series but the problem is the magnet does not contain a tracker!
Already added some from my other torrents and download rate is now 5KiB/s which is still not enough
Post trackers here as much as you can be it public or private (and please mention if it's a private tracker or not).
Hay /rec/, 90skid fag here
recently got into and binge watched SAO, Akame Ga Kill, and Mirai Nikki
I'm looking for something in a similar vein to these, simplistic, fun, fast paced, and maybe an interesting concept added in with some interesting shonen battles and maybe a bit of yandare or comedic stuff.
Grew up in the 90s and while I appreciate longer series, after the whole mid 2000's anime fiasco where series literally dragged on for hundreds of episodes, I appreciate the shorter stuff at this point.
Anyone got any reccomendations?
Also, already seen things like kill la kill/ flcl/ gurren lagann.
Also, if possible, made in the last 5 years
Anime in PLM
I took some screenshots from episode 2 of an Australian TV series called "Please Like Me". This is in its third season now and they started broadcasting it in Canada too.
Here they are watching a dub, I can make out snippets of English in http://vdownload.eu/watch/10700298-please-like-me-s01e02-eng.html but not enough to make out which series it is.
I am posting the snippets in hope someone recognizes it and could give feedback on whatever anime series this is. Do you recognize the girl shown twice?
I hope you can recommend what anime series this clip is from. It looks cute and I want to watch it, but do not know the name.
I'm looking for some television shows and movies that are similar to Paranoia Agent, thematically or stylistically.
Here are a few examples of the ones that I checked out:
TV shows: Twin Peaks, Mr. Robot, The Prisoner (both the remake and the original), and Serial Experiment Lain
Movies: Fight Club, Satoshi Kon's other works and a few of Hayao Miyazaki's films
Grisaia No Kajitsu
Grisaia No Kajitsu
I've recently completed this anime and more or less enjoyed it!
I think it is simmilar to "Angel Beats" in many ways! It is a high quality production and there are also a few nice bewbs here and there.
Grisaia No Kajitsu is really emotional stuff, sometimes I cried, and other times I laughed (alot) and I definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoyed Angel Beats and is into
Drama, Romance, School, Harem, Psychological stuff.
So yeah, but the I'm actually posting this here is because I need your help with two things!
1) webm/mp4 related, what magical puzzle trick is that girl referring to?
2) Do you huys know more animu like this?
ad 1) Video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzDm_fHEIBBENnRSRmZnbF94dHc/view?usp=sharing
A while ago, I remember hearing about an anime about a neet girl with a caring husband that puts up with her shit. The girl is blond, I believe and the man wears glasses (I know, helpful.)
I think I've seen a webm of it posted on 8ch at one point, featuring the two getting in to a dispute in a grocery store and then taking her for ice cream to cheer her up.
If that is a scene from the show I posted the screen cap of, I may be thinking of something else entirely. Regardless if you know the name, please let me know. Thanks!
I'm looking to read some manga that have finished their run.
I'm getting really tired of catching up on a current manga that's really good and having to wait years for it to complete. (pic related)
I'll read anything you recommend except horror, because I am a pussy. It just has to be finished.
There's this manga I've been looking for. I heard the description, but I can't remember the name or anything about it.
There's this lizard guy, he's like a mage or something, but the setting is kind of steampunk. He's going around finding people of some kind, they're mages or something, and he's putting them in his mouth. There's some other person inside him he wants them to talk to, then he pulls them out and asks them what the person inside said.
Anyone know what I'm talking about?
sup /rec/ , i'll be going somewhere for a long period of time and probably there wont be any internet connection so currently im stocking all the good stuff i can get

Trying to find the name of a manga
I need help trying to find a manga
It is about these kids joining the military but one of the girls is able to pilot this mech
the mech is like a red wrinkly mascot suit that has an onion shaped head with a carrot nose
the first chapter starts with an attack by an enemy satellite and the first kid disobeying orders trying to save everybody in the building
its 6 volumes long
Howdy /rec/, this might be a bit of a complicated one.
I've been plowing through my backlog and I've come to the realization I'm actually reaching the end of it outside of things with higher episode counts like GTO and Lupin III. I'm not looking for shows that would be labeled as "hardcore" or "serious" at this exact moment, nor am I looking for anything really old. I'm looking for less serious shows that are either just enjoyable to watch or are funny with substance; think along the lines of Hyakko for the former and Hen-Zemi for the latter. I'd be willing to make a concession for a fun action show, too; I recently came off of a virgin watch of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and Black Lagoon almost back to back (although the latter kind of drained my will for action shows) and I loved the entirety of the former a lot and the first half of the latter.
I am not looking for Toonami-level recs (i.e., FLCL), and I've already seen stuff like Abenobashi.
/rec/ for shoujo romances
Something like a harem but aimed at girls, with a girl as the MC.
I've looked on the chart thread but there isn't a chart specifically for shoujo romance manga/anime, just for shoujo in general. I just have no idea where to start.
Josei is probably okay too, I guess.
I'm looking for some seinen's with a lot of action and that aren't afraid of showing a few decapitations/baby eating etc. Just from the top of my head I'll list some I've enjoyed.
Hellsing Ultimate
Black Lagoon
Attack on Titan
Hitsugi no Chaika
Kill la Kill
Elfen Lied (Honorable Mention, I was still new to animu)
Gurren Lagann
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
Fate/Zero
Deadman Wonderland
Cowboy Bebop
Freedom
Evangelion
Berserk (Started watching it and liked it a ton, so much that I wanted to read the manga first but got too lazy and quit both)
Knights of Sidonia
Anime is something I've always had mixed feelings about. I have to be in the right mood for it I guess.
Right now I'm looking for a really short series with minimal fan service. I don't want a constant stream of panty shots, over-the-top gore, 3edgy5me anti heroes, boobs that jiggle from a slight breeze, you get the point...
Bonus points for < 10 episodes. And as far as genre goes, I'm mainly looking for a silly romcom. But anything goes I suppose.
I've never watched anime or even gone on this board before, And I want to start watching animu What anime do I watch? I'm a lonely NEET and I've gotten bored with video games so I wanted a new source of entertainment. So, considering I'm a NEET I could probably be able to watch shitty waifu animus if you were to recommend one, I don't really like movies. I also want to be able to feel attached to characters.

Hi /rec/, trying to find a manga a read not so long ago.
There was this guy who was kind of a bully in high school, he gets body swapped with a female classmate of his, I remember the scene where he goes immediately in the bathroom and checks her tits out, I also remember that he finds out the girl is being bullied,I guess in the next chaps he'll help her with this, anyone recognize it?
Pic unrelated
I remember watching a couple of episodes of an anime I can't remember the name of.
It was made in the 80s/90s, there were two girls in a desert, one was brown, they were looking for treasure, they run into another group of hunters and they butt heads to get to a treasure in reach.
Alright, I'm looking for the name of an anime mentioned by an anon back in February of this year, in the Shirobako thread.
To be more specific, post 161874 of this thread: https://8archive.moe/a/thread/154121
Anon here embedded a YouTube video showing off an anime that was the inspiration for the portrayal of Director Kinoshita's "Jiggly Jiggly Heaven" in Shirobako. Unfortunately, the archive doesn't save youtube embeds, so I've had no luck trying to search for the title of the show.
Things I remember:
>The video was a comparison between the TV airing version and later edited version of what looked like an anime from the 90s.
>The animation was outsourced to Korea, and was so bad in some scenes that it spawned a term based off the show's title that people used to refer to QUALITY scenes.
>Setting in outer space, looked like it was a beach planet.
>Character designs seemed fairly standard for 90s Sci-fi setting. I think I remember pink hair, but I could be wrong.
I apologize for the vagueness, but I've been pulling my hair out here with failed google searches. Any help would be appreciated.
Back in the 90s, when I was only about 4 years old I happened to read a really interesting manga. I only got to read a small part of its and it was something like this:
>highly detailed and exaggerated artwork, like Jojo or North Star
>2 bizarre and grotesque beings, one good one evil were fighting
>they looked H. R. Giger-like. Bio-mechanical.
>their fight was quite gory and violent
>eventually the good one killed the evil one, but lost his life
>as the evil one was dying, he revealed that he had planted his genetic materials in some kids around the world so that one day he'd return.
At this point the book ran out.
Ring any bell? Please keep in mind that this memory is 20 years old.
Pic unrelated.
