Alright, we need to give fair warnings about the use of paragraphs. It's one of the primary ways to improve readability, and should be thought about, especially in chans.
In chans, I recommend going for the double return paragraph, as tabulations doesn't work. The rules for when a paragraph should end are a bit advanced to do off the bat here, but do one every time something new is happening somewhere else.
"Dialogue is the most common place to have a lot of paragraph splits," the first voice said.
"And in chans its not a sin to just do a single return paragraph for every new bit of dialogue, as long as its a single, simple conversation," the second voice interjected.
"You seem to be in the right on this," the first voice reluctantly agreed. "Even though it's mostly the anon's personal preferences for dialogue, and the most correct rule would be to follow the double return paragraph."
"Luckily, the anon prefers voice number two," the aforementioned voice smirked at the groan of the first.
"However," the third, unannounced voice announced dramatically, shocking the two former ones with its unannounced presence. "Once something unexpected or new has happened in a dialogue, it would be wise to add another paragraph, if not just to make it easy for the reader to know that something has happened."
"Such audacity," the two voices called out together.
Aight, I lost track of what I was doing. Anyway. Paragraphs!
