There have been two suggestions so far:

>The Rose Cruz
The symbol of the Rosacrutians, it invokes a meaning of a search for knowledge, commitment to the betterment of the world and secrecy. It was pointed out that using a symbol of a group we are not a part of can be "wrong" or counterproductive.

>The Ichthys
Used by ancient Christians to identify one another, it is very easily drawn (and therefore hidden). It is associated with Christianity, but the general shape can be traced to several pagan traditions, each with its own meaning. In my opinion this design, despite it's simplicity, can be easily recognizable as a symbol for something by most people.

We should try to be more original. So, my suggestions are these:
>Scissors
Represent the cutting of strings, blindfolds, gags and chains. Basically a symbol of liberation, and when in the hands of the oppressed, liberation coming from oneself. Can be easily hidden in a picture or description of a scene as just another innocuous object. Can be easily drawn. Its shape ( >< ) is the opposite of the masonic compass and square ( <> ).

>Magnifying Glass
The idea of looking for something, investigating, examining, paying attention to the details. It means seeking the truth and questioning what is apparent. As with the scissors, is can be easily placed as a mundane object. Can be referenced by the capital Q (a lens and a handle), which is also the initial for "question" and "quest".

>Broken Pillar
The Illuminati use pyramids, representing a powerful few on top of the many, with the eye of a god (their god) looking down upon us. Instead of using an obvious crumbling pyramid, we could use another architectural reference: the pillar. A pillar transmits the weight from that which is above to that which is below. It can also serve as a pedestal, to showcase something excellent and superior. The broken or cracked pillar would then represent the destruction of the current power structure and the removal of that which is on top and pressing down on us. This is obviously a more complex idea.

Perhaps we can have more than one symbol, each fitting for a different kind of situation.

The magnifying glass is somewhat associated with the illuminated eye symbol and surveillance in general, so it may not be appropriate.

My 2 cents, I think this is dull and shit as I was hoping this board would avoid any kind of moral faggotry and just be a place to discuss the techniques used and not cast any judgement or get tied up in 'causes'.

BUT on the other hand, to be fair, the scissors symbol is a good symbol. For its simplicity, connotations and the fact it is an inversion of the square and compass. My favourite of the lot anyway.

its not simply a referance to survailance of the public. its actually a joke about crowd psychology. Prometheus Rising explains it best which i will elaborate in my next post

Every authoritarian structure can be visualized as a pyramid with an eye on the top. This is the typical flow-chart of any government, any corporation, any Army, any bureaucracy, any mammalian pack. On each rung, participants bear a burden of nescience in relation to those above them. That is, they must be very, very careful that the natural sensory activities of being conscious organisms—the acts of seeing, hearing, smelling,drawing inferences from perception, etc.—are in accord with the reality-tunnel of those above them. This is absolutely vital; pack status (and "job security") depends on it. It is much less important—a luxury that can easily be discarded—that these perceptions be in accord with objective fact. For instance, in the FBI under J. Edgar Hoover, the agent had to develop a capacity to see godless communists everywhere. Any agent whose perceptions indicated that there were actually

very few godless communists in this country at that time would experience cognitive dissonance—his or her reality-tunnel was at variance with the "official" reality-tunnel of the pyramid. To talk about such perceptions at all would be to invite suspicions of eccentricity, intellectual wiseacreing or of being oneself a godless communist.

But this leads to an equal and opposite burden of omniscience
upon those at the top, in the eye of the pyramid. All that is
forbidden to those at the bottom—the conscious activities of
perception and evaluation—is demanded of the Power Elite, the
master class. They must attempt to do the seeing, hearing,
smelling, etc. and all the thinking and evaluating for the whole
pyramid.

But a man with a gun (the power to punish) is told only what
the target thinks will not cause him to pull the trigger (write the
pink slip, order the court-martial). The elite, with their burden of
omniscience, face the underlings, with their burden of nescience,
and receive only the feedback consistent with their own preconceived notions and reality-tunnels. The burden of omniscience
becomes, over time, another and more complex burden of
nescience. Nobody really knows anything anymore, or if they do,
they are careful to hide the fact. The burden of nescience
becomes omnipresent. More and more of sensory experience
becomes unspeakable.


As Paul Watzlawick notes, that which is objectively repressed
(unspeakable) soon becomes subjectively repressed (unthinkable). Nobody likes to feel like a coward and a liar constantly. It
is easier to cease to notice where the official tunnel-reality
differs from existential fact. Thus SNAFU accelerates and rigiditus bureaucraticus sets in—the last stage before all brain activity
ceases and the pyramid is clinically dead as an intellectual entity.

what shape or symbol to you conveys the opposite of that. not a herd like collectivism and following of the group think out of fear of rejection and the subconscious tribal fear of exile but a desire for individual liberty

Why does it have to be opposite? How about an ear in a spiral with the catchphrase "How do we make you feel?"
Meaning both an open ear to concern, and questioning HOW you are manipulated.

A pyramid without its top?

A key in an opened lock?

A globe on a psychiatrists couch?

A keyboard plugged into a brain?

Also, the rays coming from the all seeing eye reflect old thinking about how eyes work. It was thought that one's eyes radiated some form of rays that allowed you to see whatever they touched. This also implies that darkness was like a fog that actually obscured sight.

So, three black clouds with lightening striking a central eye?

This is not a good idea. Why are you trying to create a movement? Make your own board for that. This is a board for discussion of what is already going on and has posters with differing ideas and viewpoints. It is not a role play board.

by being able to create an anti thetical symbol shows you understand the underlying concept and doing it yourself might reveal new insight into their thought processes.

It's easy to hide within any image.
Pillars already look occult.
It is recognizable.

It's probably going to be a struggle to quickly sketch though.
