>>28997

>watercooling

I wouldn't bother personally, air cooling is almost always a superior option.

An 850W PSU seems like overkill, I doubt you'll need that much power for a single GPU setup. For example my PC (i5-4670K, GTX 770 w/ 2GB VRAM, 2x 4GB RAM, 2x 120GB SSDs, 2x 1TB HDDs, and an optical drive) runs fine on a 520W PSU, you shouldn't need to go anywhere above 600W.

16GB of RAM is overkill too if you're just going to be gaming or browsing the web, but maybe you have other applications in mind that require that much.

 No.29001

>>29000

RAM is cheap, and there's no such thing as overkill.

 No.29002

>>29000

yeah, I might scale the ram back. I already own the water cooler so no sense shelling out for an air one, also I should have specified but the GPU is so that I can crossfire down the line.

 No.29003

>>29002

Seriously, you'll end up regretting going with 8GB instead of 16. That is literally the cheapest thing you can skimp on, and you'll just have to upgrade it later anyway.

 No.29004

>>29003

you might have a point, I'm wanting this rig to last me a good five or six years, and then once it's toaster tier buy a top of the range 4k gaming machine. Maybe I should stick with 16.

 No.29005

>>29004

Just replace the graphics card when it starts to get left behind.

 No.29006

>>29001

8GB of RAM these days is around £30, 16GB is around £60 and provides no extra functionally to your computing unless your going to be rendering videos or running several virtual machines at once, or something to that effect.

4GB can be a bottleneck at times, but 8GB is more than enough for gaming, general usage, or anything else he's likely to be doing, and I don't think it's worth spending an extra £30 just for an extra 8GB of RAM that will only be going to waste. Even if money wasn't much of a problem, that money could be going towards the other bits of hardware before adding unnecessary RAM.

With the PSU, if he's able to spend more money on it, he should put it towards getting a higher quality and better rated PSU rather than getting one with a large amount of needless headroom.

 No.29007

>>29006

£30 won't do shit for PSU quality. And you need RAM for things other than gaming, like fast boot times, and file transfers.

 No.29008

>>29006

>higher rated

I didn't even realise you could get higher than 80+ gold? Isn't it only a power efficiency rating anyways?

 No.29009

>>29002

Personally I wouldn't go for the crossfire/SLI route unless you wanted to use a ton of high resolution monitors at once, in practice it doesn't always mean more GPU power and it comes with more problems than it's worth. Not to mention it won't have any newer features, technologies or capabilities that AMD/Nvidia may have added since releasing your model.

Better to stick to getting a single decent GPU, and then replacing it with an even better GPU 3+ years down the line, in my opinion anyway.

>>29007

That requires fast RAM, not more RAM, and it's nowhere near as important as having an SSD instead of a HDD, at least past 2-4GB of RAM.

Zip compression is one area that benefits from having more RAM, but for general stuff like web browsing or gaming you won't even come close to using 8GB, let alone 16GB.

There's no futureproofing RAM either, DDR3 is not futureproof even if you had 64GB, and there's no signs of bottlenecking at 8GB like there was with 2GB and lower.

>fuck I wish there was one round here

I've been driving for years, and still not found an accessible, convenient drive-through that isn't McDs. That, and eating while driving is next to impossible while keeping control of the car. I can stuff down sausage rolls because they're just bite and grab, but anything like a 'meal deal' of sandwich, crisps, and a drink is hard. Requires actual concentration, so it's a case of scarfing it down at red lights.

McDs is shite. KFC isn't much better, but cheap chicken > cheap beef. Burger King is top-tier fast food.

>>29042

For rounded shoulders you need to open up your chest and shoulder muscles, as well as doing scapula stability and lower trap strengthening exercises:

http://www.wikihow.com/Perform-Chest-Stretches

http://physicaltherapy.about.com/od/flexibilityexercises/a/Towel-Shoulder-Stretch.htm (only go as far as you can, as long as you can feel a stretch you're doing it right)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N73AnUp3m2w

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJK6fDKjlko

All of the above will help with the forward head posture, but do these as well:

http://www.wikihow.com/Correct-Forward-Head-Posture

I've had pretty much all of the problems discussed here because for years I did nothing but sit at my computer, but I've managed to fix my posture, and it's really not difficult at all–the most important things are consistency and persistence; if you stick at it, you will see results.

Can confirm the stuff about neck/head posture, I had horrendous posture thanks to years and years of doing nothing but slumping in front of my computer, to the point where it was painful to try and hold myself correctly.

It's a lot better now though, just by consciously keeping my chin in, holding my crown high, keeping my shoulders back and lowered, the end of my spine / back of my pelvis downwards, my legs resting slightly forwards instead of in a locked position, and not leaning to one side when standing. It hurt for several weeks, but now that my previously unused muscles have been getting some use it's actually more comfortable than slouching.

There is so much referencing shit back in the players manual it's unreal, and the index is useless, you look up one thing and it tells you to look at another thing, then that thing tells you a page number, it's like, why couldn't it just give you the page number in the first place?

It helps to identify things with the actual word as opposed to thinking mechanically though, proficiency for example is "shit you're good at" and is derived from your background and class, so that somewhat helps make sense, sailors are good at navigation and boats, druids are good at animals and healing and shit, etc.

As for modifiers, it's a number that modifies the result of a dice roll, and usually comes paired with the stat that does it.

I'll give that the name for attack roll is stupid as shit though, it should be an accuracy roll or something.

It's all well and good knowing what the words mean in real life, which I do, but in the real world they don't have random ass numbers attached to them, nor are they made up from arbitrary combinations of other random ass numbers.

I've spent some more time looking things up, but I'm still not completely sure. Nowhere in the book does it tell you specifically and explicitly what you're supposed to write anywhere, you're apparently just supposed to spend several hours going backwards and forwards deciphering riddles to figure out what goes where, which numbers you're supposed to add together for certain things, and then eventually just ask online because it's either too vague or too convoluted.

And it still doesn't make any sense, just kill me already.

Warm-air central heating ftw. No radiators that suck heat from the room when they're not running, heating kicks in INSTANTLY, and it literally blows hot air around to heat the air in the house.

Plus, you can press a button to just run all the fans without the heating in summer. Through a filter, so it takes pollen and cigarette smoke out.

That's the main reason I'm hesitant to move out of my mother's house. Anywhere else would be cold as FUCK.

Nope. It's just a 1980s semi, so it's got proper modern energy efficiency. Thick cavity walls, insulated loft, and small windows.

The heating system was installed when the house was built, according to the previous owner. And he'd bought it from new.

Super energy efficient.

It'd be a <100K house if it wasn't for the location. Shit's tiny.

I can just turn the heating on/off to taste in each room, with a little knob on the airvent. But I don't like to because the vents are full of spiders, and I like my heat. Plus it's super warm in here as opposed to the landing being super cold.

I mostly did it once a day when I was 14 - 16, mostly because I only really had privacy when I was in the bath or in bed, but after I left school and got a computer in my room I went full hikki, and started regularly going 3 - 4 times a day, no less than 2.

I kept moving up the chain to more and more weird and extreme porn, then switched over to 2D and kept looking for things that out-crazied or was more deplorable and socially unacceptable than the last.

I wish I broke out of it earlier, nofap can help make the more "normal" stuff like an IRL woman with large breasts seem more attractive and appealing, but it hasn't helped turn me off from the more degenerate stuff, the kind of thing I might have come across when I was 14 - 15 and felt like throwing up or noping the fuck away.

Nah. I just keep it to a few times a week, though, so I don't waste valuable gaming time searching for porn.

That, and my combination of tastes in porn and desire not to fill my laptop with viruses and malware mean I have to give things time to update again.

It's a nice stabiliser for my mood, too. It's far too easy to get overly stressed, or work myself up so I'm angry at everything. Taking a step back and having a wank every so often helps keep that under control, and stops me being quite so depressed.

Closest thing to nofap I do is the complete lack of porn browsing on my desktop. It is a gaming machine, and not for porn browsing. Or much web browsing beyond Steam and the occasional review site.

I want it clean and malware-free, and free of browser cache.

grinding down your dopamine receptors into nothingness isn't the best course of action if you want to find happiness. You need to achieve self actualisation. The human experience is defined by suffering, you can't have highs without lows. This is why NEETs become so depressed. A life of nothing but adequate levels of amusement is crushing. Scarcity, denial, control and toiling. That's what leads to happiness.
