Anyone ever tried out the odin project? I'm thinking about starting it out. For those that haven't heard about it, it's a web development training site, and its free.

Unlike code acadamy it's got a bunch of custom outputs and it isnt just tutorials, and you end up with a bit of a portfolio by the end of it.

 No.28707

Watching the show Mr. Robot. It's reddit-tier anonymoose shit.

Anonymous members include a white whore lelsorandum girl, a nigger and a muslim girl. Sounds about right.

Also the robot guy who has social anxiety and depression gets laid, takes drugs and somehow keeps fit even though he never exercises.

For a show about anti-capitalism it targets it's audience really well, the kind of people that go on occupy marches, wear anonymous masks and tweet #FeelTheBern.

 No.28708

>>28707

ugh, I know exactly the type of person you mean. I don't know if there's anything that actually captures the robot life (is that why the name? I didn't think they'd be that aware of the slang)

I've heard good things about welcome to the NHK, but never watched it. Japan seems to be good at that kind of thing though, they've certainly got enough robots over there.

 No.28710

>>28707

I've seen some quotes thrown around but never seen it, sounds edgy as fuck though.

 No.28711

>>28708

I'm surprised we haven't seen a British Comedy series on it yet, we have stuff about losers all the time, but nothing quite at the level that robots are.

Closest sort of characters are nick frost in shaun of the dead, and the irish one in black books, but even they're too normal. It would be finding the right place really, obviously you cant do 100% NEET because there would be no situations to derive comedy from, but a former NEET wageslave could work, or a NEET on some jobcenter course.

 No.28712

>>28711

If I had talent I'd totally write something like that. I don't though, my few attempts at writing have always ended shittily.

 No.28713

>>28712

I think it would need exceptional writers, as it would have to be dark as fuck, but still entertaining. It would have to blur the lines between comedy and drama, much like bojack horseman.

 No.28714

>>28711

Closest I could probably come up with is Roy or Moss from the IT crowd, but even they're far off.

>>28712

It's hard to make a comedy around people who don't say or do anything much. Maybe a comedy where it's centred around a psudo-britfeel/r9k, and each interesting post or greentext could be skit, maybe a version of lupus' party. It would also allow for recurring characters so people could have favourite characters (robots) to relate to.

 No.28715

>>28714

Honestly, I think they're pretty normal, just a bit odd and quirky. Same trap people fall in with peep show.

Nick frost in Shaun of the Dead literally sits around in his underwear playing video game all day, he hates everyone except for Shaun and he can't even be bothered to take phone messages, his life is literally falling apart, the last time his housemates enjoyed some time with him was 3 years ago. It breaks up a bit when you hear he's a drug dealer occasionally though, but even on the phone he doesnt seem particularly good at it or social. Sure he becomes successful throughout the film but it's only as a result of the end of the world.

As for bernard black, I feel he has the right lazy, hate filled attitude you see in a lot of NEETs, as well as the fact that his life is mostly a mess, just look at the disorganisation of the bookshop, and other than Manny and whatever the chick is called, he basically speaks to no one properly. He could be argued to be IT crowd/Peep Show levels though.

 No.28716

>>28714

so have a bunch of characters only connected by a board like this, and each episode give a bit of insight into each of their lives.

Obviously the expected ending would be they all meet up and make friends, but real life isn't like that, so the show shouldn't be either.

Fuck, now I actually want to do this. It'd be shit as hell though, so someone else join me.

>>28715

Bernard has confidence though, which is the big issue for most NEETs I think.

So I bought some lifts to go in my shoes, and they came in the mail today. I can't use the full size as they can be pretty big, so I'm stuck with like 1.2 inches extra instead of 2.

Gunna try them out in my other pair of boots now, as I think they're a bit bigger so might fit the full thing, they're super ugly though.

 No.28761

>>28759

I wouldn't say self loathing, but I always convince myself I should be doing something more productive, so can't bring myself to do things that I would enjoy. I guess it's kind of thinking I don't deserve fun.

 No.28763

>>28759

Yes, somewhere around 2008. It was mostly downhill after that, it's only once every few months that I attempt to make music now rather than everyday, and most times it feels like a waste of time or the results turn out shitty.

>>28761

I get that a lot myself, but I've read that it can help to dedicate a couple of hours of the day to just doing pure, uninterrupted leisure activities. So you set that time aside and don't allow any thoughts of "you should be doing this", "you need to do that", etc. to hinder or stop you.

 No.28764

>>28763

The problem with this is, I tend to wake up right before I have to leave for work, then when I get home it's either 7 or 8, not only am I super tired and dont feel like doing anything productive, but I also feel that if I put in a few hours into leisure then I wont have enough time to do other stuff before I want to sleep.

The solution, obviously is to wake up early before work and do shit, but to do this I need to start going to bed early.

I just use a wired 360 pad. No room or budget for wheel and pedals, and they're all racing accessories anyway. Trucks need to have a big seat, a big horizontal wheel, and a great big gearstick with resistance and extra buttons on.

I just stick with the controller, because then at least it's not some expensive but inadequate simulation of reality. As well as the keyboard for extra keys, and the mouse for moving the camera around to check corners and stuff in chase cam.

Controller's an absolute necessity in Farming Simulator, though. Can't operate cranes with mouse and keyboard reliably enough, especially with all the button chording required to operate machinery and cranes.

 No.28866

I went to my grandparent's house earlier this evening and we had a chinese. It wasn't just me and them, there was also my dad, my auntie, my twin cousins (who are one year younger than me), and one of them's girlfriend who I'd never met. I thought all of these people would really set my anxiety off, but actually I was fine.

Not even just fine actually, I felt really fucking good. I don't even know what happened. Like, I was speaking confidently and coherently, making spontaneous jokes that were getting laughs, joining in with some normie charades-like app game they were playing, hugging when greeting and saying goodbye and everything. I haven't been able to do anything even close to this since I was about 13, and that was 10 years ago. There was of course the obligatory "So what do you do?" question from my cousin's girlfriend, but I managed to weasel my way out of it by mentioning my time at college without mentioning the fact that I'd finished it 4 and a half years ago.

When my dad dropped me off back home, he said that when I wasn't in the room they were all talking about how amazed they were with my appearance and my level of confidence. I can see why to be fair, the last time they saw me I was still really bad postured, rarely showered, my clothes were all old and baggy, I kept my head down and never said a word, and rarely stayed in the room with them.

Still, I'm not quite sure where tonight came from. I'd be very happy to be like this more of the time, very happy indeed. I just hope it wasn't a fluke.

Although I don't plan on doing anything malicious with anything I find besides a bit of banter or REEEEing at you if you're a normie, people like me and worse are everywhere, so why would you ever post personal information online in the first place? There's an entire board dedicated to doxing on this very site. It's like saying that burglars are the reason that you aren't confident leaving your front door and windows open when you leave the house, of course you shouldn't be posting personal data online.

As long as you strip out all identifiable information and any links to anything you've previously posted that you don't want tied together, you should be fine. Stripping EXIF data and renaming your photos before uploading is a must, no matter what site you're on.

 No.28904

>>28903

> so why would you ever post personal information online in the first place?

Because I consider Britfeel to be my friends. I appreciate you're saying you won't do anything malicious, but you could easily take a dislike to someone then set out to damage them. I've said so much racist and violent shit on here, there's probably enough grounds to send me to jail if it was linked to my person.

I sort of like that you just seem to be encouraging people to be more private, though. It's noble while still being very spooky.

I'd be more likely to take a dislike to someone if they were shilling for muh diversity honestly, but I still wouldn't really do anything.

I consider you guys my friends too, which is why I'm trying to make everyone a bit more aware of all the information they're putting online, and make sure nobody does anything really stupid. The fact this thread didn't get absolutely flooded with photos, links to various online accounts, and the personal information of lupus a while back should be an testament to the fact that I really don't intend on doing anything malicious, it's just something to do when I'm bored.

Unless you post a photo along with what you've written or write about something you've brought up before (e.g. a particular job, a place you live, a oneitus, etc.), I nor anyone else has any idea who you are besides "those who use capital letters" and "those who don't", and both of those groups have enough people in them to make any individual indistinguishable.

>>28906

Well I could compare it to any photos that have previously been posted here, and see if the resolution or file size match anything else you've posted, but I can't really ever be bothered to do that.

If however you posted a photo of a massive horse dildo on your kitchen counter, and it was the same counter as the one you used to ask about whether your potatoes looked okay or not, then I would obviously be able to make the connection.

 No.28939

what do you lads think of 4k gaming? Worth the money?

 No.28940

>>28939

No, the performance hit from rendering that many pixels on-screen at once isn't worth the slight increase in perceivable clarity.

In my opinion 4K is overkill for gaming, at least in it's current state. I'd much rather have more frames per second, but you won't be getting many of those at 4K without spending a fortune on hardware.

 No.28941

>>28940

aren't most monitors only capable of displaying 60 frames per second anyways? I wouldn't say it's fair to call it only a slight increase in clarity, even 1440p looks noticeably clearer. 4k is struggle to see individual pixels tier.

I agree overall though, as tempting as it is it's probably too early to adopt that sort of thing.

 No.28942

>>28941

A monitor refreshing at 60 Hz does not mean the graphics card is capable of putting out 60 fps, especially not at 4K.

The most desirable outcome would be to have a graphics card powerful enough to put out an entire frame of your native resolution before the monitor is ready to receive the next one.

If your card is trying to render 4K's 8,294,400 pixels per frame instead of 1080p's 2,073,600 pixels per frame, you're going to need at least 3x the amount of time to render that frame, assuming you're on the same hardware.

So if you're just about getting 60 fps on 1080p, you're gonna be struggling to hit 20 fps at 4K. And if you only get 30 fps at 1080p, that's 10 - 13 fps at 4K.

That's why I'd much rather stick with a lower native resolution monitor, but get a decent graphics card and a monitor that supports 120 Hz or more. That makes for a much more enjoyable gaming experience than having more pixels does, at least in my experience.

 No.28943

do you have a 120hz monitor? How appreciable is the difference in smoothness between 60 and 120? I get console tier framerates on my computer so I'd imagine I would be quite happy just getting a consistent 60 fps.

 No.28944

Remember when you were a kid in primary school and everyone in year 6 looked so old. People in highschool looked old as fuck, like fully grown adults.

If you're 18+ can you even imagine how old you look to a child now?

 No.28945

>>28943

Very appreciable, however it's worth mentioning my 120 Hz monitor is a CRT. The differences between frame rates are a lot more noticeable on a CRT, as 60 Hz has an obvious flicker and is pretty much eye cancer, whereas 120 Hz looks smooth as fuck.

The catch is that monitor is from 1997, and it can only do 120 Hz @ 480p, 100 Hz @ 600p, and 85 Hz @ 768p, and 60 Hz for anything up to 1024p, but as they are all native res they still look beautiful.

On an LCD you get pixel blur due to the fact they can't switch as fast as the electron beam on CRTs, but these days you can get monitors that are pretty bearable. An LCD capable of 120 Hz wouldn't have much blurring at all at 60 Hz I shouldn't think.

How old are the games you get console-tier frame rates? On a GTX 770 I get solid 60 fps at 1080p on almost all games up to 2013 and the games that I don't are mostly just unoptimised pieces of shit.

Yeah I remember when I first went up to "big" school, and it was like everyone in year 11 was a proper adult. Now I see 18 - 21 year olds as kids.

In fact I can remember when I first started school, and even the year 2's looked big and scary.

Yeah that's pretty shit these days, Skyrim's a 4 year old game and if that's giving you trouble then you've got no hope for anything newer.

New games aren't really worth it in my opinion though, they're all just clones of older games but not as good. I got myself a decent graphics card just to run older games at high frame rates and to have pretty looking shaders on RetroArch.

Not actually that much older than a teenager/sixth former. I'm 29, but I don't seem to age.

Helps that I don't get out much, and that my long hair makes me look younger. Also like a girl, but fuck it. First time in my life I've actually LIKED having curly hair. Always hated hairdressers, too. Haven't been to a proper one since school, don't intend to start now.

Only had it cut a few times, and that was by my friend's sister, who knows to listen to what I want and doesn't think she knows better.

I think it's her fault I keep getting mistaken for a girl. But, fuck it. My curls are fabulous.

Nearly sliced my thumb off/fucked up the joint when I was a kid. Slicing cardboard with a penknife, knife slipped, into thumb joint. Healed up properly.

Nearly took my eye out as a toddler with a bike accident. Wasn't allowed to ride a bike with glasses on for years after that.

Had half my cheek shredded, a few teeth smashed, and probably my jaw broken by a brick wall as a teenager. Dickhead cunt boomer elbowed me off my bike into said wall, saying I shouldn't be on the pavement. I invited him to go deal with the buses and idiot school run mums himself, then set about fixing my glasses enough for the lens to stay in (with my teeth, because I couldn't see well enough to use my fingers), and fending off the car of normies that stopped to offer me a lift or help. Then cycled off to the opticians to get the properly fixed. Then home because I checked myself in a mirror and discovered I was actually dripping.

Had awesome scars for a month or two after. Not been able to grow facial hair properly since, not that I'd been able to before. The scabbing destroyed the follicles, far as I can tell.

Cracked ribs multiple times due to bike accidents, permanent scars on my elbows from various accidents, my shins are studded with old scars from bike accidents as a teenager, and my back teeth are basically gone thanks to a combination of a cracked filling, a sharp remainder of tooth, and various accidents.

What wasn't flat-out broken was root-canalled and capped. I even got charged a full extraction for just an anasthetic, slicing my gum open, then digging around for half an hour to find a single shard of enamel. Apparently the dentist swore there was evidence of more on the X-rays.

He did great work on the rest, though. My front teeth are still intact, and the caps he put in are still there. Even the sensitivity has gone, as I found out this summer.

I ate a LOT of icecream this year after discovering that I could actually bite it.

I've never done anything particularly dangerous either, my parents are health & safety mad and due to that I've always been really cautious and danger-aware.

There was the time when I was 13 and I was in my room and kneeling on my chair while facing backwards. I eventually leaned too far and it toppled over, and I came crashing down and smacked my eyebrow on the corner of my desk. It wasn't enough to need stitches or anything, and my eyebrow hair covers the scar.

There was another time around the same age that I was just fiddling around with a pencil, and I accidentally stabbed it into the palm of my hand.

There was also the time when I was 14 playing basketball in PE, and I got knocked over backwards onto my wrists and sprained one of them. I went to the hospital that evening and got a bandage put on it, nothing too serious but it did restrict my wrist movements for a while, and even now it feels stiffer than the other.

I've been riding a bike as long as I can remember. My dad was always big into motorbikes, so he encouraged me onto two wheels ASAP.

I'm just accident-prone, really. Dyspraxia's a bitch like that.

It's only my habitual wearing of safety boots that's saved my toes from being destroyed in recent years. I've even declared the garage a safety gear area; last time I did ANYTHING in there without boots on, my mother dropped a table leg onto my foot.

Need to get out more, though. I am getting fat. Slowly, but surely. Doesn't help that the canteen at work has FINALLY been allowed to actually fry eggs. On a portable electric cooker, two at a time.

Started cutting down on stuff yesterday. Takeaway night was less food than usual, today's lunch was lighter.

Okay, so this is where your attacks go, so in the name field you'd put axe, or dagger or whatever. The Attack bonus is the second box. This is anything extra you would add to or take away from your attack roll. (this is the roll to actually hit, not to d damage) This is made from a proficiency bonus, which would be simple or martial weapons, possibly something else further down the line, but we dont have to worry about those for now. So simply if you're proficient in simple, you get a bonus from your proficiency. You also add your modifier for a certain stat, usually strength, as that's what you use to actually do the attack. This could be something else for some weapons, daggers rely on dex as they have the finesse property.

For example, say you have a shit strength so ahve a -2 modifier, but you're proficient, and your proficiency gives you +2, this means you simply roll a d20 to decide whether your attack hits, if it was anything else you would add or take away numbers to the roll, making it easier or harder to hit the number you need.

The damage box contains the die that the weapon tells you to use, so 1d6 for a handaxe, and then the modifier from the stat you use it with (usually strength). You also write the type of damage here, determined by the weapon.
