There's a goth club called the Castle that plays a ton of EBM/industrial tunes. Lot of degenerates. Good place to have a strong drink and ppl watch. They put on public sex shows and steampunk/sci-fi costume contests @ events. Decent DJ/VJ set up.

Haven't gone in a few months but used to frequent on the weekends. Good times!

Yes !!!

Keeping it real

There was a club like that in Spain to, I don’t know what happened to it.

Mostly underground clubs. The one post mentions goth or punk clubs.

Cyberpunk scene is so small every wear, other sub cultures usually form together in there clubs.

I understand why people keep it so underground, but at the same time you get only a small sub culture

Plus people looking for the next big trend or technology.

Everyone sometimes comes together on a project and sometimes people bogart others ideas.

Nice music

e and coke fueled dnb parties

Neuro dnb is very /cyber/

Lots of those nights round here

Fuck ya.

Sure does. The Robot Restaurant in Shinjuku, Tokyo. It's a dinner show, not a club though.

Only good thing about this place is the senator.

Ah yes, King Degenerate.

Was always a good time each fall watching all the new kids from USF show up for the first time.

I use to be a regular at this place for a very long time. I have many good memories of the craziness of the place. It started going down hill about 10 years ago, and I could not even bring myself to go this Guavaween.

No cyberpunk clubs around here. If I could ever save up the brouzouf I'd like to start one, but considering how fucking dull this city is I'd be lucky if it lasted a year. Most subculture clubs here last for about 8 months unless they also cater to a lot of normie shit. If I had to deal with fucking gangsta rap and generic fucking nu metal most of the operating time I'd shoot myself.

Even the few places that lasted more than several years have been cutting ties with a lot of the local subcultures and just going to shit.

Elysium in Austin. It is kind of a shithole but I go for bands I want to see. Has too many fag events and is across the street from a homeless shelter which sucks.

Better idea, save the brouzof to move to a city that embraces the subculture and underground.

gtfo out of your corporate normie village.

>move to a city that embraces the subculture and underground

So move to the black neighborhood? For some "cyberpunk club"? Though if you got such an idea then you're probably black already so go on.

>gtfo out of your corporate normie village

>mfw the most corporate normie villages are big cities full of larping liberals

I live in a major city. A very liberal city. which means that everythin that is actually liberal gets called racist or gatekeeping or some other faggy far left buzzword and eventually destroyed. Such is life in Canada. Been seriously contemplating suicide for the last decade.

you can run such a club only as a hobby. you're lucky if you barely reach break even. most likely is you will be running a loss. but if you got the brouzouf and want some fun hell why not. also imagine all that crank shit you could pull if you don't need it to be profitable. could fuck with customers you don't want, have retarded specials, etc.

sadly I lack the funds to do something like this. and seeing all the richfags like zuckerb0rg, the minecraft faggot, etc. not using their fortune to have fun makes me really sad. only richfag I somehow respect is le epic musk because at least he wants to fly to mars. /rant.exe

poseur shit gay

t.leftist degenerate

Okay, then in that case you should do it. Create an underground warehouse club. Host single night illegal parties in abandoned spaces. Sling the other necessities to pull it off.

When I said move to a city that embraces an underground, I wasn't being generic with that phrase so allow me to correct this; city that has a popping industrial underground.

I consider myself pretty fucking far from a leftist bootlicker. Even a corporate village can have a few million people. If you live in one, then subvert that shit on the fringe.

I doubt that will be much of a thing anymore due to the Oakland fire that killed 25 or so liberals a couple years ago. which is too bad really, since it is like a self solving problem.

>you can run such a club only as a hobby. you're lucky if you barely reach break even. most likely is you will be running a loss.

did someone say dna lounge? ;)

>I doubt that will be much of a thing anymore due to the Oakland fire that killed 25 or so liberals a couple years ago.

Kek, the show must go on.

Oakland fire MVP

Shit, the closest thing with cyber aesthetics is a hipster lounge selling overpriced Grey Goose vodka.

Get more cyber feels going to the local old fart bar drinking shitty beer.

Alright shazbots. Here's how I would do it if I could afford the startup costs.

>purchase an otherwise unused warehouse/factory space from the 1800s.

>DIY the electrical and shit and make sure it's up to code

>set up office, bar, kitchen areas

>set up a vendor's area that people can pay like 50 bucks to setup in, curate that shit so that people are bringing good stuff into my club to draw a bit more of a crowd, standing policy of no corpcuck shit

>Simple menu, handheld bar foods, simple asian foods.

>simple bar setup, keep it sleek but low-life esque

>lighting and like pic related. maybe green instead of pink/purple

>no screens and shit that I can't put together with a small team.

>mostly cheap booze

>try to keep prices below 8 bucks a drink because fuck that.

>low vinyl seats in a gothic style

>3D printed stuff where possible

>keep decorations sparse if at all(my favorite place to go in this shithole city was literally a tiny dancefloor with a strobe and laser light above it and some fluorescent style blacklights on the walls)

>make sure the "stage" area can be configured for a DJ or for bands, maybe some modular shit on it.

>cater to industrial, glitch, outrun, metal, edm, drum and bass, occasionally goth or psychobilly acts

Anyone think I could make that turn a profit? It should be noted that the psychobilly scene here is pretty large, and the main place that used to be for punk and its various subgenres has started snubbing bands, also the few places left for decent psychobilly, metal, and hard rock acts have all kind of gone to shit and are terrible at advertising.

I'd go, sounds cool

I'd totally go therw. I need a place like this right now to be honest.

Is that a fellow Austin-dweller there? Never been to Elysium, seemed a bit too "alternative" for my tastes.

>Anyone think I could make that turn a profit?

Depends on your location. Business license are expensive. Food and liquor licenses are expensive. Rent is expensive. Fighting off lawsuits from the city when underage kids buy drinks from you or OD on drugs while on your property is expensive.

I like the idea and I'd visit this sort of place once in a while, but running a club/bar/lounge space is a difficult enterprise. There's a reason they pop up and disappear so quickly.

Location is London, Ontario. Big problem is a lot of the local buildings, especially in the downtown core, are owned by one particular group that has been hiking rent skyhigh and killing local businesses, then nobody rents the building from them so a lot of these places have been sitting empty for years. A lot of the places I used to go to died as a result of this scummy business practice.

Surprisingly, food and liquor licenses aren't that expensive, but rent is pretty brutal. Drugs and shit….eh, I dunno. I might have private rooms for that sort of thing, but also pot is legal here so I'd let people smoke up in parts of the building, plus I'd get licensing in place to sell edibles.

>triggered by mainstream softawre

It's more of a hotspot for latex covered cybergoths. Even this subculture has subcultures, which is frustrating af

>scummy business practice.

More retarded than scummy, what's the point of raising prices to the point no one can pay?

That's what confuses me. Nobody knows what the fuck these idiots are doing with all the vacant downtown property. There was even a private school they purchased after raising the rent to the point where it had to shut down and turn into doctors' offices.

Thinking about it perhaps they're trying to sell them to chinks or doing some brouzouf landeuring, i mean from the street they look abandoned but on paper they might get a lot of "action", real state is some weird shit.

We have been seeing a huge increase in gang activity downtown lately. I've been blaming it on all the migrants and immigrants We've been getting(every time I see one of the reports the perp is either black or middle eastern and always a fucking muslim) and the simple fact that we just don't have the citywide infrastructure, but it could be that some of it is out of hubs like that.

>There's a goth club called the Castle that plays a ton of EBM/industrial tunes

FFS. It's not goth if it does not play goth music. You dumbfuck. And both EBM and industrial are not goth music. It's like calling emo music club a "heavy metal club". zuz lmao, what a lamer

Goth is a subculture and "goth music" refers to those music genres typically associated with that subculture, not a specific genre itself. Gothic Rock's a thing, but walk into a goth night at your nearby club and you're far more likely to hear EBM and Industrial.

I haven't been to a real dance club in more than a decade. Seems like every good place with a dance floor gets shut down. Dipsits go there and start fights. We can't seem to have anything nice.

I would suggest a private club that you had to be a member. You have to pay to join. There's a background check. People who are club members have to vouch for you. If they vouch for someone who is a fuckup they also get booted.

what is a cyberpunk club?

Rivetheads and goths are to separate things you moron.

I'v been into goth since the '90s and were involved into organization of goth events and festivals. Goth is a subculture based around goth rock (a.k.a. coldwave a.k.a. deathrock a.k.a. positive punk a.ka. dirge a.k.a. dark new wave and other) and it's descendants - like ethereal, shoegaze, goth darkwave. Industrial is a separate culture with separate roots. Just because clubs play gothic rock together with other genres does not make them magically goth. If you hear Specimen right before some synthpop does not make synthpop goth and does not make goth a part of synthpop. So quit spreading bullshit, seriously.

Stop embarrassing yourself, you brainlet.

Go put your head in toilet and flush water.

He's correct though. More often than not, places trying to call themselves "goth clubs" are actually "industrial/ebm" clubs. The incorrect association of the two comes largely from the fact that in the mid 90s to mid noughties a lot of fetish clubs would play goth music and industrial music.

Hell, at this point in time it could be argued that despite coming from very different places musically, they're thematically similar enough that it doesn't matter. Some of the oldschool goth acts have experimented with a bit of industrial. Johnny Slut from Specimen DJs and plays a lot of industrial music, Siouxsie Sioux and a couple of the other members of Siouxsie and the Banshees tried their hand at some early industrial under the name The Creatures, Alien Sex Fiend has incorporated elements of industrial into their music since the late 80s.

Hell, personally it's not uncommon for my playlists to shift from Alien Sex Fiend to Shock Therapy to Neon Kross to Revolting Cocks to Ministry to The Bauhaus to The Cramps.

The confusion from the outside and even the inside is moderately understandable, really. I don't entirely fault people for not having the wherewithal to do a bit of research.

a place where neckbeards and basement dwellers coalesce, talk about linux, star wars and their latest miraculous +4 saves, when they're not looking at their laptops that have embarrassing wallpapers and forced dark themed UIs

any of those places in the Caribbean?

ya, technical definitions don't really matter anymore, it all blends together there. I used to be a hard ass about genres and sub-genres too but people don't care.

You're right, it just doesn't matter.

They do play regular old school goth rock too
