Learning Arabic

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته وسلام على المرسلين والحمد لله رب العالمين أما بعد

A couple of days ago someone mentioned starting a thread for learning Arabic, I thought it was a good idea so here it is. My thought is that we can share resources and ask each other questions about the language.

I'll start off with two great resources that'll take you quite far. They're aimed at someone who knows the Arabic script but not anything else. After these you should be at a level where you can start studying Arabic in Arabic.

1. Madinah series, which is used at the Islamic University in Madinah and very beginner friendly(as said above you just need to know the alphabet). It consists of three textbooks in Arabic, along with three in English explaining the grammar of each lesson, and an answer key. There's also a lot of complementary material in form of grammar summaries etc. Everything can be found for free(no copyright) at

lqtoronto.com

2. Simplified Arabic by Arthur Upson. Another great book available free(copyright expired). It's layed out in terms of 200 chapters each accompinied by translation excercies with answer keys. Ideal for self studying. It can be found at https://archive.org/details/arabicsimplified00upsouoft

Welcome to the 8chan Masjid

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

This board is the 8chan Masjid and should be treated as such. It is a place for Muslims to gather and discuss Islam and not intended as a place where Muslims must defend themselves or their religion from outsiders. If you would not do it in a real mosque in the real world, then don't do it here.

Controversial topics of discussion are permitted, but deliberate trolling/baiting and personal attacks will not be tolerated. /pol/-like behavior can stay on /pol/.

ATTACK THE ARGUMENT, NOT THE POSTER

DO NOT DECLARE SOMEONE KAFIR OVER A SIMPLE DISAGREEMENT

Obviously from time to time someone will come to this board and they wish to discuss a portion of Qur'an or the life of the Prophet(عليه السلام) or the tribal practices of certain people(s). There is nothing wrong with questioning and questions should never be shunned. All answers lay within Qur'an and the Sunnah.

For the purposes of this board, and until otherwise proven absolutely haram, tasteful non-lewd images of people, nature, and animals will be allowed. Images of the Prophets will be deleted. Crass or profane images of the Prophets will be met with a ban. This board is 100% SFW and any lewd/lascivious images will be given a ban.

If you desire Sunni only discussion, head over to >>>/asj/

If you want Quranist discussion, go to >>>/modernislam/

If you wish to share your stories of Muslim life, go to >>>/muslim/

We are not for the comparison of the various world's religions. There are many, many other boards for that. Use them.

We need to take steps to ensure our privacy. Do not let them pull the "if you've got nothing to hide" card; that's like saying we don't need freedom of speech because "I have nothing to say." Questions

Hey, not trying to be offensive here but I've seen a lot of "mohammed is a pedophile" memes on 8chan in general and I'd like to know the whole story.

1. How old was aisha when mohammed and her married?

2. When was the marriage consummated

3. If it was at a young age (14-), does Islam condone sexual relationships with prepubescent children?

Thanks for answering

Questions That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread:

Post all such questions here. I'll start with a few of my own.

As a non-Muslim (non-religious period) I wonder about the notion that God (Allah) "wants" things from us. "Wanting" to me feels like it implies a kind of inferior state, as though one was lacking something. Does Allah "want" things from mankind? To follow certain rules perhaps? Or is it not a matter of "wanting" but something else?

Questions regarding the Kabaa.

Peace be upon you.

I'm doing a bit of research on the Kabaa (it's regarding the whole Saturn theory and black cube occultism) and so far all the websites I've read don't provide any sources for their claims (even the Wikipedia page on the Kiswa does not provide sources for most of their major claims) so I thought I might ask here. Here are my questions and I'd prefer if you gave sources for the answer if you will answer them:

1.) Was the Kaabaa originally a cube shape(Pre-Islamically)?

2.) If the Kaaba was changed to a cube due to certain circumstances is it true that one of Mohammad's desires was to rebuild it back to how it originally was (not a cube)?

3.) Is there evidence for the Kiswa needing to be black according to Mohammad?

4.) If not why was the Kiswa changed to black and do we know the exact date this choice was made and who made it?

5.) Is the current day Kabaa a perfect cube shape?

Trini General

الله‎

Allah, The Unmoved Mover

>And it will not be possible to be and not to be the same thing, except in virtue of an ambiguity, just as if one whom we call ‘man’, others were to call ‘not-man’; but the point in question is not this, whether the same thing can at the same time be and not be a man in name, but whether it can in fact. – Aristotle, Metaphysics

>Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent; has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?”

>1 Samuel 15:29 “And also the Glory of Israel will not lie or change His mind; for He is not a man that He should change His mind.”

>Job 9:32 “For He is not a man as I am that I may answer Him, that we may go to court together.”

The concept of trinity disagrees with both the scripture of the Hebrews and the logic of the Greeks – the two very things Hellenist Jews wanted so desperately to combine when they contrived Christianity.

The laws of the excluded middle and contradiction do not undermine monotheism, they demand it. They undermine the trinity which is rank paganism. Logic can be seen as negative theology (what God isn’t) while revelation is positive theology (what God is). Monotheism can only be undermined when the imperfect reasoning abilities of men are placed above revelation – which is exactly what the trinity doctrine does.

Divinity can be seen as “irrational” in the sense that the human mind alone cannot be expected to properly quantify it, hence the need for revelation from above. If we accept the premise of unrevealed divinity and its “irrationality” then monotheism is less irrational a priori than polytheism. In this same manner Unitarianism is less irrational than Trinitarianism. Then if we accept the premise of revealed divinity along with the veracity of Abrahamic scripture we find that monotheism is more veracious a posteriori than polytheism; similarly Unitarianism is more veracious than Trinitarianism. Trinity is subrational whereas Tawhid is (supra)rational; Trinity is extra-scriptural whereas Tawhid is scriptural.

God is fully Beyond-Being because God is not limited in anyway like/by/or part of God’s creation. An understanding of God based on observing the createdness of being (God’s creation) would be by necessity induced rationally, however the Trinity is irrational. An understanding of God based on revealed scripture would be deduced from beyond being, yet Trinity theory is not revealed in scripture. While most though not all Christians accept the trinity theory axiomatically as a compelling paradox it is wholly artificial in the sense that neither scripture nor rationality can account for it; it is an equivocation. Catholics claim to be against continual revelation yet they endorse “internal locution” and believe the “holy spirit” has helped them do everything from write their own Bible to carry out the Second Vatican Council. They’ve signed the front and back of a theological blank check.

Trinitarian Christianity holds that the Godhead is the ideal form of and over the “Three Persons” that share the same essence. This theory opens the door for “all potentialities” which is how it is disproved by the Third Man Argument. We can observe the infinite regress of divine powers in the Catholic Church in ways such as Mary being called “The Mother of God”, calling Anne “The Grandmother of God”, the Immaculate Conception not only of Jesus but of Mary along with her perpetual virginity, the neverending litany of new Saints, doctrinal infalibility. Protestants do not deny Jesus is God, nor do they deny that Mary was the mother of Jesus yet they deny she is Mother of God. So Catholics can be said to operate logically from an illogical premise whereas Protestants operate illogically from the same illogical premise.

How do I choose a mosque to go to and also overcome the fear of going there?

Assalaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh

I reverted to Islam almost a year ago and I have been trying to learn as much as possible about the faith since then. I pray on my own and everything, but I need a community. I thought that I will be able to be alone until I graduate from university and live on my own, but I really feel the need to go to a mosque.

It looks like there are 3-4 mosques in my area, most of them are situated in little storefronts. There's one Islamic Center, but I don't want to go there because of personal reasons (some friends/acquaintances of the family I have go there and I don't want my family to know I'm a Muslim).

The problem is, as I have mentioned on this board in the past, that I suffer from extreme anxiety. I'm a male, for reference. I even suffer from this when I used to go to a church in a new area alone without my family (even though I was a lifelong Christian).

How do I choose a mosque? One of them looks to be for Turks, another for Southeast Asians and yet another is a mix of groups (I gathered this from the pics they have online). Also, what's the best way to go to there? Should I try to text message the imam and ask if I can come in? I don't just want to show up because I wouldn't know what to say. Also, I kind of feel silly going because it looks like I will be the only white guy there and it would be hard to fit in, if that makes sense. I really want to be able to have a mosque community, though.

It's a long post, but I just typed out everything that came to mind. :)

How can Allah have attributes, without changing, if he was alone for eternity?

This is something I've wondered about a lot before, and I was wondering if there were any good resources for this. Certain attributes of Allah, such as merciful, loving, forgiving, etc. are active attributes that can't exist alone. Meaning that you can't be loving with nobody to love, you have to love someone else. So I'm wondering this: Allah existed alone for eternity before creating anything, so how can he be loving if he had nobody to love? Some people might say that he had foreknowledge of us or of the angels, and loved us based on that, but if he was only creating out of foreknowledge then where did that foreknowledge come from?

Basically, I don't understand how a single being alone in the universe can become loving with no other being to love, have any Islamic scholars or philosophers looked into this? Are there any resources you could give me on the nature of Allah?

Islamic prayer and religious observance

Dear /islam/, السلام عليكم,

I'm coming from /christian/ with a matter that has been bugging me lately - prayer and religious observance in your religion.

>Note that I'm neither a "shaky Christian on the verge of converting to Islam" nor do I want to proselytize you (apparently this seems a noteworthy thing due to the latest occurrences).

Alright, back to the concern: As you might know, Christianity, especially the Apostolic branches of Catholicism and Eastern orthodoxy, are supposedly declining. Not as per numbers, but as per piety, observance of Divine Law/Church commandments etc.. People call it "modernism" or "apostasy" or whatever.

With regards to this, some members of the Church hierarchy (namely for example Cdls. Sarah and Arinze, i.e., African cardinals that have experience with muslim fellows) expressed that we as Catholics (Christians in general) could learn from muslims when it comes to religious observance (of course while condemning any form of violence sparking from potentially or purposefully misinterpreted verses of the Quran and all that - I'm not educated on that topic so I won't dive deeper into it).

So while I was thinking about that, it came to mind that you guys pray 5 times a day (that is: among the customs that I know of/have seen myself at one occasion or the other) - and I read about that. Now I've found that you in principle calculate the time spans for each of the prayers new for each day, because they need to correspond to sunrise and -set. Further does it seem that you guys (again, those that we would consider pious rather than the "hand-waving" sorta people) are way more strict and rigorous when it comes to things haram.

Also the "thing" (in lack of a better term) with the prayer positions (as seen in pic related) seem to be very strict in a sense that there is a need to go through them, right ? That is especially interesting as we Christians seem to keep it "BYOB" with regards to that (except sick or old people and also except in the Holy Mass): Some kneel, some stand, some fold hands, some interlace fingers, some do it just casually … and so on and so forth.

What I'd like to know, or rather what I'd like you to tell me - maybe as a starting point if you will, in case this develops into an actual discussion - is how you keep it with the general observance of religious imperatives, e.g.

- prayer times (incl. do you calculate the times/time spans, etc.)

- prayer stance and if you pray outside of these "5 major times", maybe with prayer ropes ?!

- observance of feasts and special time periods (for example Ramadan)

- observance of "general" laws (for example what to eat, what to drink, sexual stuff [please leave that out in case it's scandalous], etc.)

- … (and so on and so forth - depending on your time/willingness)

One important thing that often and repeatedly comes up is the fact that you guys are "horribly" (I don't mean that in a bad way) reverend with regards to God, other religious figures (prophets) and even among yourselves (well … apart form the "denomination infighting" I've heard of with shia and sunni and all that … but that's not what I'm aiming at, so don't mind me and don't bother going into this).

Now, I don't want to belittle anyone but who answers this I ask you to be something that could be described as "pious" muslim - not some kind of cultural guy (like we have among Christians) or gal that states things like "ah praying 5 times a day is not that important actually" (provided people like exist .. which I'm pretty sure they do).

With all that being said, I look forward to hear from you and remain with best regards,

/christian/ anon

God bless

Reversion

Hello everyone. If someone could help I would appreciate it. I was an atheist white teenager in the United States. I supported evil and thought myself to be really smart and would drink alcohol. But over time I became more right wing, then I realized that wasn’t enough. Then I became a Christian, but I am loving Islam more and more. It makes more sense, it is absolute. The law of it is enthralling, it is not obscure or vague. The thing is I am afraid to convert as I live in the Midwest and I don’t know where any mosques even are and if they will be accepting. I’m not doing this to find a wife either but I want one and would a Muslim woman even want a guy like me? Because if I’m gonna do this I’m going all in and would only want to marry a female Muslim… so I guess what I am asking is will people accept me?? And general reversion story thread. I am sorry if this thread is annoying somehow.

Thoughts on Rene Guenon and traditionalism?

Guenon was a french Catholic who developed a philosophy of traditionalism (one tradition cannot contain the universal as this itself is beyond words but many traditions can express the universal). He thought Catholicism's traditionalism had become exhausted and moved to Egypt and became a Sufi, seeing as how Islam still preserved it's traditionalist nature. It's more complicated than that but there you go.

Austria to shut down 7 mosques, expel foreign-funded imams

Austria’s right-wing government plans to shut seven mosques and could expel dozens of imams in what it said was “just the beginning” of a push against radical Islam and foreign funding of religious groups that Turkey condemned as racist.

“Political Islam’s parallel societies and radicalizing tendencies have no place in our country,” said Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, who, in a previous job as minister in charge of integration, steered the Islam bill into law.

Standing next to him and two other cabinet members on Friday, far-right Vice Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache told a news conference: “This is just the beginning.”

Austria, a country of 8.8 million people, has roughly 600,000 Muslim inhabitants, most of whom are Turkish or have families of Turkish origin.

Being a channer while being muslim

Hi.I'm a muslim image board lurker for 6 years (not a troll).I just wanted to know that; in image boards there is no ideology that makes them offensive. While lurking in 8ch, 4ch I'm being exposed to sexist, racist, anti-muslim and sexual jokes but I only laugh not get them serious. I'm also doing jokes, talking ironical about islam sometimes but not to make it humilated, to show people isis-like organizations are not muslim or show them they don't know anything about Islam. I'm  only half degenerated because I still support my ideologies even most of lurkers has no religion.

The question is: Are you a lurker or using 8ch to post here? How do you feel when lurking while being muslim? Finally, do you joke (ironic) about islam?

OP here.

Why are muslims in Sweden and i guess most other European countries so unfriendly towards presumtive converts? They peole in the mosques here generally act like they don't want the outside world to even know they exist at all, and definitely don't want any ethnic Swedes or people of any other background to try and join them.

I can only laugh when i read crap about some think Muslims are supposedly "trying to take over the country and force everyone to convert to Islam", when if anything most Muslim immigrants seem to think Swedish and all other people are unworthy of becoming muslims. What should one do, how could one become Muslim in such an unfriendly enviroment?

R/exmuslim

I spent some time browsing this subreddit pretty intently yesterday afternoon and again this morning. Some observations:

Bismillah.

1.) They're as far as I saw 100% atheist, I didn't see any theistic "ex-moose" as they call one another. I did see them mocking those kinds though, suggesting that they have a fringe existence. It's possible that these are just people "brought low" since the issue is simply iman, not adopting a new creed.

2.) Some are proud murtadeen, others are munafiqeen that are still pretending to be muslim to their families and communities. One even claimed to pray 2 rakats of tarawih then go to the pub and come back for witr.

3.) Pity party. One of their mods was asking r/atheism for "support" during ramadan.

>Having to wake up early in the morning before sunset (3-4 am) to eat before dawn leading to a significant disruption of the circadian rhythm

>The fast itself can lead to dehydration in the hot summer weather and involves hypoglycaemia,

>The evening breaking of fast (iftar) is normally a large meal, lavish if affordable and plays havoc with the digestive system

>The extra prayers at late night (Taraweeh) are extremely long (1-1.5 hours) and involve prolonged periods of standing. This time of the year these would be held at around 10pm leaving only 4-5 hours to sleep until the cycle repeats itself for the next fast.

WEW LAD

4.) Weird hangers-on. Roughly 30% of the commentariat were "never moose", these are kuffar asliyin atheists that are fascinated with murtadeen. They trash christianity and the other 70% trash Islam, they swap stories etc.

5.) They're still attached to Islam and their ethnic groups, albeit in antisocial and unhealthy ways. Yes, a few active users have come back to Islam, hopefully more just stop logging in and return silently. R/exmuslim dwarfs r/exchristian, it is the largest "ex" subreddit. These people want their own atheist ummah. Of interest: there is literally no one active at r/exjudaism. If Islam came with a passport and cash there would probably be no active users at exmuslim either - keep that in mind.

6.) A murtad from Sunni Islam is of course the crown jewel for shaytan. I'll say slightly over half of r/exmuslim was raised Sunni. There is disproportionately outsized representation of those raised Ahmadi and Shia.

7.) Reasons for disbelieving: emotional, not rational. They like rap music and dislike being called terrorist. They like to swear and get drunk (both common discussion points) and dislike having to stand while they pray and fast. They support modern liberalism and dislike the Prophet saws for not being liberal enough. They like gays and having gay sex, they dislike rules about sex only within marriage and only with the opposite gender. One person said "Islam forbids adoption." even though that is a twisted falsehood. They are SJW on every possible issue except Islam where they go full /pol/tier - ie, they have absolutely no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

One of their head honchos is particularly jealous for Zayd ra and his marriage to Zaynab (raa). He thinks Zayd got the short end of the stick when the Prophet married Zaynab. The fact is The Prophet arranged their marriage and we don't know why they divorced after a year - the story of the doorway is spurious. Allah used their marriage and divorce to teach the community about obeying Allah, ignoring class background (Zaynab wealthy, Zayd humble), and then that adoptive fathers can marry their adopted son's exs. Zayd enjoyed six wives during his life, many were arranged on his behalf by the Prophet and he bore the Prophet no ill will, the concept never even crossed his mind, and died as a shaheed mujahid. But some foulmouthed snarky clown on reddit is pretending to be offended on his behalf, give me a break, Zayd would have literally killed him.

8.) They like to eat bacon and ham sandwiches, now that they embrace apostasy they like to take pictures of their bacon sandwiches and share them with eachother.

"Peace"

Asalamu'Alaikum brothers and sisters. I had this thought in my mind but I can't quite seem to put in the best words possible, but I'll try my best.

I'm 100% sure we've all heard the words "Islam is a religion of Peace" as a response to demonization of the religion by critics, but does Islam come any close to what modern society deems as a "peaceful religion"? Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing Islam in anyway, but I also dislike it when people try equivilating Islam to being some sort of knock off of Buddhism, and I abhorred Pascifism or any BS cuckery.

Non-Muslims have to pay their share. Muslims can live in harmony with the disbelievers if they incline to peace. It pisses me off when Muslims respond with military actions because the countless wars fought for Israel in the Mid-East, you got the pretentious blood-thirsty Zionist stooge going Like, "Ooooooh look at those moooselembs, soooo butthurt and barbaric! Not duh religion of peeeeace!"

Best example is the Palestinian oppression. They literally got their land taken from them, houses bombed, annexed, killed, and for God sakes Israel dropped White Phosphorous civilian populated areas. And when they fight back, the West simply blame the religion for their violent response rather than looking at it as a common sense. You attack me, expect it in return.

BTW You probably didn't know "Islam is a Religion of Peace" is a phrase first uttered by George W. Bush to paint a scenario where his sadistic crimes are against "terrorists" and not Muslims

Great March of Return casualties

https://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/inpictures/israeli-forces-kill-40-palestinians-gaza-180514123818573.html

>Israeli forces kill dozens of Palestinians in Gaza 'massacre'

<picture: A wounded Palestinian demonstrator is evacuated during a protest against the US embassy's move to Jerusalem ahead of the 70th anniversary of the Nakba at the Israel-Gaza border in the southern Gaza Strip.

Quote: Dozens of Palestinians were killed in Gaza and more than 2,000 wounded as the Israeli army fired live ammunition and tear gas at protesters assembled along the fence with Israel on Monday.

It was the highest Palestinian death toll in a single day since a series of demonstrations dubbed the Great March of Return began on March 30 - and since the 2014 Gaza war.

Of the hundreds of wounded, the Ministry of Health said at least 74 were children, 23 were women, and eight were journalists.

"On this day, the Israeli massacre continues against our people," Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said on television from Ramallah.

Hundreds of protesters ventured to within several hundred metres of the barrier, while others moved even closer, rolling burning tyres and hurling stones. Israeli security forces fired volleys of tear gas and intense rounds of gunfire.

Since the protests began on March 30, Israeli forces have killed at least 86 Palestinians in the coastal enclave and wounded more than 9,400.

‘Islamic state’ in Belgium? ISLAM party president talks Sharia, sex segregation

Gender segregation on public transport protects “vulnerable” people, the president of the controversial ISLAM party told RT. The group has previously said it hopes to create a “100-percent Islamic state” in Belgium.

Abdelhay Bakkali Tahiri, president of the conservative Muslim party in Belgium, joined the RT France team via videolink. The party’s French acronym stands for “Integrity, Solidarity, Liberty, Authenticity, Morality.”

Established in 2012, the ISLAM party took Belgium by surprise in its first year, winning seats in the Anderlecht and Molenbeek municipalities of the Brussels Capital region. Molenbeek is notorious for being a “hotbed of extremism,” as a number of Islamists behind the Paris and Brussels attacks grew up and lived there.

Saudi Arabia 'agrees with Vatican to build churches for Christians in the Muslim country'

Saudi Arabia has agreed a deal with the Vatican to build churches for Christian worshippers in the Arab country, it is claimed by Middle Eastern media.

If confirmed, the supposed agreement between Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran and Mohammed bin Abdel Karim Al-Issa of the Muslim World League would mark a historic first in Saudi history.

The cardinal has visited Saudi Arabia this year and met the royal family, urging the Muslim country to treat its citizens equally.

Under the alleged agreement the churches will be built alongside the establishment of a committee to improve relations between the two, Egypt Independent reports (http://www.egyptindependent.com/saudi-arabia-build-churches-christian-citizens/).

Saudi Arabia's anti-extremism Etidal centre hosted Cardinal Tauran last month as the crown prince pushes for inter-religious exchange in the ultra-conservative Sunni kingdom.

The Vatican has previously spoken of its wish to provide the Christian population of Saudi Arabia with the ability to worship.

Spiritual Crisis

I used to find myself to be at the very least a decent Muslim. I would pray 5 times a day, read the Qur'an every night in both Arabic and English, go to Friday prayers, attend Islamic youth studies, avoid major sins like Zina, eating Haram/non-zabiha meat, etc. The only major sins I knowingly committed were my addiction to masturbation and pornography, which I used as an excuse to contain myself from fornication.

I always prayed to Allah swt that I wanted to become a better Muslim and strengthen my imam, and I've taken steps into taking that path, especially recently. But I feel like my connection is getting weaker, and I'm scared because I don't wish to displease Allah swt. My passion in Islam has massively deteriorated in the past week and I've been suffering quite badly with a lot of inner turmoil, confusion and doubt.

I recently given up masturbation and pornography, something I wanted to do but subconsciously wanted to hold onto. It was my vice so getting off of them was hard and I'm not sure how I long I can maintain. I've only been at it for a week (I did nofap during one Ramadan for 11 days, but I felt that it actually pushed me to borderline commit zina). That has led me to extreme boredom and even mild depression.

What truly made matters worse was my discovery that drawing, something that I very much enjoy and am passionate about, is not only haram but a grave major sin. Listening to music, another thing I enjoy (although I prefer video game OSTs over mainstream music) is also Haram. At first, I thought these were just opinions from those super orthodx Muslim imams, but my own extensive research made me come to the conclusion that they're indeed right. I very much wanted to believe my own whims, but I was just denying the truth. I know Allah swt will always forgive me, but it absolutely destroyed my heart how many of the things that I love that I wasn't even aware were bad things are big sins.

I've been really depressed recently. I can't go back to those things anymore. I can't find a qt 3.14 wife who's pious but has a sexual appetite to fully satisfy my needs. I wanted to get closer to Allah swt, but I feel like it had the opposite effect.

I need help.

Salam, random questions

What does Islam say about the makeup and nature of God? Is he material? I think a material, eternal God structured out of eternal particles makes a lot of sense. I can imagine him existing in a substantial sense.

A God of 'spirit' or 'ether' seems empty and strange to me, how can he be said to exist if he lacks substantial physical form?

Also how does Islam explain God's interest in man, why would he intervene in earthly life or judge man? If the universe is a well tuned machine there shouldn't be any need to tinker with it or intervene.

What is there to judge and for what purpose, seems like man does what is in his nature to do, like how bees go about their business and so forth.

And lastly if religions/revelations were all originally "Islam", historically, why didn't God preserve them and guarantee their continuity, why did he repeatedly send new prophets to re-state and re-construct the religion?

And very lastly, is there room for reincarnation in Islam? Are there multiple levels of heaven or hell you can be "reborn" into and shift phases in, making progress, etc? Or are you stuck in 1 level post-mortem?

Why don't you guys consider Ahmadis to be Muslims?

I am Ahmadi Muslim from India (now in America), and I don't understand why you guys don't consider us Muslims?

We hold the to the 5 pillars of Islam including praying five times a day and fasting during the month of Ramadan, we hold the Qur'an to be the literal and final and authoritative word of Allah (SWT), we consider Muhammad (PBUH) to be the last law-giving prophet and the greatest prophet, we hold to the 6 article of faith, etc.

The only real major thing setting us apart from the rest of Muslims is that we believe Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (PBUH) to be the long await Mahdi as well as the fulfillment of the second coming of Jesus (PBUH) in his place.

So, explain to me how we're not Muslims despite doing everything Muslims do and believing most of the same things.

I’ve been playing with the Acorns investment app and might still keep it, but will use it to generate income to throw into Halal investing. I didn’t know about Wahed until today. It seems to be like a halal version of Acorns, minimum investment is $100. I’m halfway through setting up my account.

Anyway I suggest having a 401k or IRA before playing with ETF’s. Many investment houses now have halal 401k and IRA portfolios.

Anyone into halal investing?

Purpose of extremely specific passages that have no purpose today

Surely this passage didn't exist on tablets that have been around since before time. I mean, why would Allah feel the need to talk about one specific guy's dining habits in his book that is meant to be eternal? It doesn't make sense.

Quietism versus Activism

Which is more consistent with Islam, political activism or political quietism? Are they both legitimate? What do you think about political rallies and marches?

I personally feel that I am not entitled to have an opinion on things I don't understand which is why I lean toward quietism. I don't even read the news. I feel like it would be dishonest to take a strong stance on things I honestly know little to nothing about, but it seems like nowadays everyone is under pressure to have strong opinions on a variety of very complex issues. Are people obligated to participate in social and political struggles and debates? Is it irresponsible, maybe even cowardly, to sit on the sidelines and simply mind one's own business? I'm struggling with these questions and I don't know what their resolution is.

Help Me Defeat Anti-Natalism

Hello /islam/ I have a problem that I think only you could guys could stand a chance at helping me with.

First I want to say that I love and respect Islam the same way Adolf Hitler did. There are certain cultural practices that I don't approve of and I hate moderate Islam with its humanist egalitarian bent. However true Islam and its holy books I appreciate very much.

That said I don't identify as a muslim. If I have to identify myself I will say various different things at different times, usually pagan though. My identity is completely fluid really, it depends who I'm talking to. I know so much about the various religions that I can pass myself as whatever I want.

Now here is my problem. Every woman I ever meet is an anti-natalist and doesn't want to have children. They call themselves white nationalists, traditionalists, and whatever else but they ALWAYS never want to have any children. No matter what I try I can't convince them to even say "I might have children one day". No, they flat out want to sterilize themselves. There is something wrong with our women that they don't want to breed.

Now, I understand there will be those here offended that I want to breed within my own ethnic group. I'm Dutch and I only want to breed with Dutch. I might make exceptions for someone who comes from a neighboring country like Germany but that is it. Even other whites I won't breed with. Now with that aside…

What is the secret to making women become pro-natalist? What does /islam/ do right in this regard? How do I apply the Islamic wisdom in my life to convince a woman to not be barren and to actually have a ☻ing child?

If I have to convert to Islam I will do it. If I have to convert the women around me also to Islam I will do it (if I possibly can). I'm not sure what is more important to you Muslims, whether someone "converts" and says "I am a muslim" or whether they simply submit themselves to god, love god, and serve him. When it comes to Christians it seems their goal it to make people give lip service to the Church, the more people calling themselves Christians the better, doesn't seem to matter at all though to them if they are actually Christian. Me personally I would rather that people be holy and have the right ideas, regardless of outward appearances. Islam very obviously has the ideas at its core and if some kind of Islamic subversion of society happens where everything happens as by Sharia law but for propaganda purposes it calls itself anything but that would be fine. It would be like how we are literally ruled over by communists right now, who simply don't use the symbolism or the names of communism, so people who don't know any better don't freak out.

Please help me to make woman to have children. The birthrate where I am has collapsed completely. Even though the government is bribing people with huge amounts of money each month to have children, still, not a single white woman will do it. The cities are empty of children and the schools are literally shutting down or entirely populated by foreigners. There are classes where there is only one white child.

Please, save my people. Convert us to Islam if you want. We're dying out and our women refuse to breed. Many times now I have to burn bridges with women because they only want my wealth, or they want sex, or they want "love" but none of them are ever willing to have children. I am getting too old and many men like me are getting too old as well. Finding a woman of my ethnicity that actually wants to breed is like winning the lottery, it's practically impossible. All the women just think of having children in negative terms… "baby factory" and other such words they use. They hate the idea of being a mother. I don't know how to save them.

The Petpill Islamic Edition

The domestic cat is a revered animal in Islam.Admired for its cleanliness as well as for being loved by the Islamic prophet Muhammad, the cat is considered "the quintessential pet" by Muslims.

In Islamic tradition, cats are admired for their cleanliness. They are thought to be ritually clean, unlike dogs, and are thus allowed to enter homes and even mosques, including Masjid al-Haram. Food sampled by cats is considered halal and water from which cats have drunk is permitted for wudu.

Conclusion: if you have a dog as a pet, you are not a good Muslim and will go to hell

Can you brothers do Dua for me

I'm tired of being a virgin and I want a beautiful qt 3.14 Muslim wife so I can finally have a halal and frequent sexual release. It's just so hard. I'm not very attractive, outgoing and I'm in no position to even attract a woman into marrying me with the way things are economically. I can't afford to house myself, and if I were a woman, I would want my spouse to at least have his own house.

I don't even know how to court a woman that is Islamically approved. I don't want an arranged marriage from my parents because I want a girl chosen by me.

They say just fast as a way of relieve sexual frustration, but it doesn't always help and I don't wish to do that so frequently.

Sometimes, I just want to give up on women in general because of how western society, feminism and pop culture has ruined so many women and because of my fear of divorce. When I read the Qur'an and how it mentioned the houris in Jannah, it makes me even more apathetic towards women. That's to imply I'll be accepted in the first place.

That's why I'm seeking duas to ask Allah swt to please find me a Halal wife that is beautiful and fulfils my sexual needs so I can control my sexual urges from committing Zina.

Miracles

What kinds of miracles can be attributed to Islamic saints?

I am a firm Christian, and for the most part that is thanks to the life of a Catholic saint named Padre Pio. Among other things, he bore the stigmata, gave sight to a woman without pupils, was able to read the sins of those who came to him for confession, spoke with Jesus himself (http://infallible-catholic.blogspot.com/2012/05/padre-pio-on-sins-of-mankind.html), and appearing after death to cure a man in my hometown of cancer (https://www.messengerofpadrepio.com/testimony). God did great works through this man, yet I know from a thread on another board that Muslims can at least exorcise through his power as well. So what other wonders has God worked through the followers of Muhammed?

And before you ask yes I am well aware this is a masjid (or equivalent, I'm not really sure how an online mosque works). I think we would all like this to be a thread where we glorify the works of God, not squabble without progress like in the trinity thread. Yet I am sure you would also agree it would be wrong to fear glorifying the works one already know of, especially if it explains why I want to make this thread in the first place and places it in a proper and more interesting context. Nonetheless, to say again, this is for the miracles worked through your saints, not mine.

Looking into Islam

Hello,

I'm a citizen of a dominantly Catholic country. I was an atheist/agnostic for most of my life, but in these last years I moved towards religion. When I were in an Orthodox country, I converted to Orthodoxy, but after a year (a few weeks ago) I was moving closer to Catholicism, after many studies on theology, Church history etc. I never doubted Christianity was the true religion, if there was one, but in these last days I feel an inexplicable drive towards Islam.

Why do you believe that Islam is right above the other religions? What can convince a Christian to convert to the true faith (if that is)? Sunni or Shia, and why?

Thank you all in advance for your answers.

Robot wives?

Serious question: would marriage to a robot with an artificial womb be permissible?

Let's say we were in an age where artificial women were advanced enough to cook, clean, carry conversations and even birth children. How would the Islamic religion deal with this issue?

Sex dolls are forbidden due to them being an aid to sinful behavior. With robots there's perhaps the imitation of Allah SWT's creation, which according to the Hadith is a huge sin.

The Clash of Civilizations is Real

And I've Picked a Side

>White supremacy is one of the greatest evils of the world, and knowing its history will help us identify its manifestations in our communities, writes Cyrus McGoldrick.

>The fading Roman Empire needed a boost, and so it blended its paganism with a bastardised version of the monotheist and politically revolutionary message of Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him).

>The revelation of the Qur’an to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) set the record straight, confirming what was brought before it and correcting what was misunderstood, and the Muslims – the followers of all the prophets – have been a threat to the elites of the “Christian” world ever since, not only because of our message, but also because of the preference many minorities in Europe had to live under Muslim authority rather than their Christian oppressors.

>White supremacy

>Islam’s faces to Europe were Arab, Berber and Turkish. Unity around white Christian identity was the solution – a compound asabiyyah (tribalism) to trump the ethnic and national asabiyyah of each state. White supremacy is Christian supremacy and vice versa (even if it takes on Jewish rhetoric in occupied Palestine), and for periods of time (apart from in-fighting) it could unite the European powers against external threats.

>However, once they could hold their borders by effectively colonising their locals, they expanded outward, colonising the world, waging genocides in Africa, Asia, and the Americas.

>The United State is the child of this, and the liberal ideas expressed in the founding constitution were for white men and no one else.

>‘Whiteness’ itself was a battleground – the Irish weren’t ‘white’ at first but sought acceptance, as did other passable immigrant groups. But most people didn’t have that option.

>I am not a liberal, nor am I a European supremacist – I am a Muslim, and what I want for my people in Iran, Ireland, America, and everywhere in the world is for them to read what their Creator sent down for them and act accordingly. To make America great would be to make America Muslim, and it is possible. As I sit in the city that was once called Constantinople, I promise you, God always wins.

>Changing America

>But I say this: Muslims should be careful with their narrative of America and their narrative for change. The Islamic method is dawah (invitation), aqd (contract), and jihad (struggle). There is no ‘small reform’ for the US – we need deep change, getting to the roots of injustice there, which are the massacre of native populations and the African slave trade.

>The rulers of this land are the same families that have been the leaders of the enemies of God and humanity for centuries, even if they allow one of our eager integrationists a seat at the table once in a while.

>If you’re thinking, “but you’re just reinforcing the ‘clash of civilisations’ theory,” you’re right, I am, and I’m picking a side. But the difference between “us” and “them” is this: the Muslims are supposed to serve people when we have authority and learn from others (this is Khilafah), whereas Western Christian civilisation is built on a destructive drive (this is dominionism).

>There are exceptions to both, and the leaders of the Muslims today are mostly secular colonial puppets, so I don’t point to them as examples, but broadly, my study of religion, history and the social sciences has taught me this.

>I don’t want to destroy America, I want to save it from destroying itself – but that will only come from Divine Guidance, not liberal nonsense and selling our religion for the acceptance of our enemies. America can’t be saved from white supremacy if America is white supremacy.

>So let’s do better. Let’s physically protect the people – this is required. And let’s build our communities based on Islam. Let’s give dawah. If we figure those out, I think we’re on the right track.

>For non-Muslims who are reading this: although this piece is addressed primarily to Muslims, I hope this also articulates how we understand the events of history and our role in the world, and makes clear my love for everyone except our oppressors. If you had a cure for a disease in me, I hope you would share it with me too.

>For Muslims who are reading this: if you didn’t get this already, I hope this makes it plain that white supremacy is very much a Muslim problem, and is part of the global struggle that we have waged from the very beginning.

>And God knows best, and may He forgive and correct anything wrong that I’ve said.

child circumcision ?

What should be the minimum age of circumcision? Since there is no compulsion in religion the subject needs to consent and understand the implications of the ritual, right? otherwise it undermines their freedom and conscience and isn't even significant to them, so it becomes just an empty gesture.

Like forcing a child to prostrate when they have no understanding of what is going on and can't even speak, the prostration is futile, an empty gesture forced upon them.

Bart Ehrman: How come Quran was preserved by Scribes and Bible was Tampered With?

https://ehrmanblog.org/the-significance-of-an-astounding-new-discovery/

This should hopefully go a ways towards stopping the rather affable but increasingly sophist James White who always engages in genetic fallacies whenever Muslims quote respected secular textual scholars. White says Muslims aren't allowed to quote textual scholars because they don't believe in prophecy. Guess what, James White the reason debates have parameters is so you can focus on the relevant points of information a scholar brings to the table, not their favorite basketball team or their personal religion.

I'm increasingly convinced that James White is a cultural hellenist that expertly couches civilizational arguments in religious imagery. But that's another topic. He's the most informed and well-mannered christian apologist so I don't want to be too harsh on him.

Qadianis Defeated in Algeria

Algeria's Minister of Religious Affairs says ‘Ahmadiyya plan has failed’

https://www.rabwah.net/algerias-minister-of-religious-affairs-says-ahmadiyya-plan-has-failed/

>Algeria’s Minister of Religious Affairs, Mohamed Aissa, has said the Ahmadiyya plan has failed and the Islamic sect does not exist in Algeria anymore. He made the comments on Saturday while speaking at the University of Islamic Sciences in the city of Constantine in eastern Algeria.

>Speaking at the University, Minister Aissa said:

>“The Ahmadiyya plan in Algeria has failed. The security services , the justice system, local imams and the Algerian media together exposed their plan and the sect does not exist in Algeria anymore”

>He went on to say “They call on their followers to stay reserved, marry among themselves and pay Zakat among themselves in order to form a sect but they could not succeed.”

>He further said, “The battle against (Ahmadiyya) is over, and we want to spread awareness among the youth who were affected by their (Ahmadi) doctrine, we need to make an effort in bringing those people back to our national religious beliefs.”

>A week ago, Minister Aissa also warned of the “systematic spread” of Shia Islam in Algeria while talking to the media. He said, “We are not against Shiites but against the evangelization of Shia Islam in Algeria, Shiite Islam itself does not present a problem but proselytizing campaign of the Shia community in Algeria does.”

>Answering a question about a Christian Algerian sentenced to three months in prison, Aissa said that he was not imprisoned because of his faith but rather because of insulting the Prophet Muhammad.

POLITICAL THREAD

To everyone claiming sunnism

Reminder that if you like many self-proclaimed "sunnis" of today reject the authority of our Sunni Leaders(eg Aal Sauud, Banu Hashim etc) or insult them in any way then you are not part of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa'ah since you are rejecting one of its core principles.

Every group today claiming to be Sunni studies al aqidah al Tahawiyya(meaning it is accepted by both Asharis/Maturidis and Ahlulhadeeth/salafis). And here you find the article:

>72. We do not recognize rebellion against our Imam or those in charge of our affairs even if they are unjust, nor do we wish evil on them, nor do we withdraw from following them. We hold that obedience to them is part of obedience to Allah, The Glorified, and therefore obligatory as long as they do not order to commit sins. We pray for them right guidance and pardon from their wrongs.

The above is what sets Sunnis apart from the Khawarij who would rebel(=khuruuj) against the Muslim Leaders and accuse them of being kuffar. So just like it's essential for a sunni to accept the virtues of Abu Bakr(ra) in opposition to the shi'a, you also have to accept the above. This is such a fundamental part of us Sunnis that it was included with the articles of faith(belief in Allah, the angels, etc) and went on to be accepted as one of the most authoritative texts on orthodox creed. Thus if you disagree with one of these then you are no longer a part of the Sunni community.

Wa salaam

I'm a 24 year old virgin who is disgusted and exhausted by this degenerate western culture I live in, I have had a couple opportunities to lose my virginity but couldn't bear to do it with women I know had taken many dicks before mine, how much would converting to Islam help me find a loyal wife? Are muslim women in western countries actually interested in monogamous relationships or do they put on a show and still slut it up?

Kaaba Golden Ratio

The coordinates of the Kaaba at Mecca are 21.423 N° 39.826 E°

111.423 / 180 = 0.619

219.826 /360 = 0.610

Golden Ratio = 1.618

The coordinates are at the golden ratio distance from the north pole to the south pole and the golden ratio distance from directly opposite the prime meridian

The amazing thing about this is that the Qur'an was revealed to Muhammadصلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم in 610 AD, the prime meridian wasn't invented until 1851 in Greenwich. So it just so happens that Mecca was at the Phi point from the poles and then later England became the naval and astronomy leader of the world, which just so happened to have it's opposite's Phi point directly on Mecca?

let's have some convo

Is it wrong to ask God for money that I will spend on worldly things while I'm not fulfilling my religious duties? And IIRC I had read somewhere that in old days oral care was easy because people did consume organic food and much less sugar so their teeth wouldn't rot at a young age. What about wisdom teeth? Why do we have to deal with it? It's so painful and I have dental fear. I'm not trying to be that 20th century atheist like "science can't explain what purpose this or that organ service so intelligent design is wrong, check mate theists!"

I wanted to both ask these questions and have conservation with you because I'm bored to be honest. And I'm feeling down spiritually, maybe you will inspire me to do something for sake of God.

what your ideal Islamic state

Government> constitutional monarchy primogeniture inheritance. the monarch is head of the armed forces and has the power to propose laws to Parliament and to appoint and depose prime ministers. parliament is made of two houses one the lower based on geographical location the other made of trade guilds and workers unions. the Parliament will approve the collection of taxes and confirm noble titles granted by the king.

legal> the sharia is dived into two parts the first, called core sharia, consisting of direct legal pronouncements and those that have punishments and the moral sharia. ie someone can be stoned for zina but the government wont force u to wear hijab making it a marker of individual piety. this will be enshrined in the Constitution and no parliament make illegal what is in the core sharia but they can modify it(ie using stone bullets rather than actually stones, closed to the public and selected execution squads)

Military> mandatory conscription and military ethos drilled into the whole population. the country will be divided into sectors based on population and distance with a military centre based. here six days a month the men of the sector must gather and practice military stuff. women must train 3 times a month.

Education> based on the apprentice system but military training(think GUP)

Possible Conversion to Islam

I am a Christian, but I've been considering a conversation to Islam. My own faith has become boring and unfulfilling, and it doesn't give me a sense of hope like it used to.

I'm still hesitant to become a Muslim of the possible reaction of my family and friends. Any words of encouragement or further reasons to become Muslim would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Convert

assalamualaikum

After many months of serious deliberation (a year actually) I have decided I must convert. Regrettably I have not read the Quran as of yet but am ordering it imminently. I need faith in my life. I considered myself atheist for a time until I found myself mentioning God more and more despite telling myself I did not believe. I knew when I see degeneracy that God will punish them. This is what proved the existence of God to me. I now realize I always believed in God. Over the past months I found myself reading more and more of Islam and even watching shows like Joe Bradford.

To any lurkers questioning I suggest you convert as well. It can be a common experience for us.

Getting my mom to convert to Islam

Salam brothers and sisters, I'm going to make my question short.

So my father married a non-muslim woman in hopes of having her convert to Islam. Well she was very much on board but her parents (don't even want to refer to them as grandparents) made her over religious and undid all my fathers doing after they got married by basically threatening excommunication from the family. Is there any way I can acclimate my mother back to Islam? She's a hindu but my father and I have been working on her a little by getting her to eat meat, praying with us, and even small jokes about hinduism and polytheism which she does not mind. She even sometimes asks us to go further into detail and listens closely to our takes on hinduism (mainly on subjects like incarnation, caste system, and womens rights). Even though all these measures are being taken, it feels like I still have not made any progress and the worse part is she's getting old and she could die any time (Only Allah knows of course).

tl;dr How do I convert my Hindu mother to Islam?

I need advice regarding my Duaa

Hello 8ch Islam I am a new poster here but I lurked around for sometime.

During exam season I was extremely stressed about my exams and I was very scared to preform badly. I made Duaa during Qiyam everyday so that Allah guides me during my study sessions. I did this because I am notorious for messing up on final exams, I can never do it when it counts. I might get A's in my midterms but I'll still get a D or C in my final. I barley made it into university due to me messing up on my school finals too. I don't have anxiety, I am perfectly calm and confident while taking tests, After I get the results I get depressed and I feel like killing myself. Every time I walk up to the roof to kill myself I get reminded by the pain I would feel in the afterlife if I did it and went to hell. I can't imagine the pain my parents would feel if their son killed himself out of now where and the fact that they know their son is going to hell for it. I personally don't care if I do bad(knowing that I studied and did my best) but I hate when my parents keep getting disappointed after giving me chance after chance to prove myself.

I'm not depressed(in general), I just get these insane moodswings when this happens, and the fact that it happens over and over just kills me inside. I keep up with my prayers to be honest its the only thing that keeps me sane. I find peace when I pray, especially Qiyam but I need advice on what im doing wrong. I make dua to be successful and to make sure theres baraka in what im doing but I keep screwing up in these crucial moments and I dont know what to do. What do you do when nothing works? I know that when Duaa doesnt get accepted I get rewards for it in the Afterlife but I dont want to see my parents sad and frustrated every time.

I would add more info but I dont know if this is too long for a post. I'll add more in the comments if it doesn't get removed.

Please give me Islamic advice, I dont want liberal nonsense telling me to go see a therapist or to find support groups. If the board admin finds this post inappropriate for this board you can remove it without telling me why. I dont mind.

I believe this needs it's own Thread to discuss everything about Daesh/Islamic State. /IslamicState/ and /ISIS/ is full of troll-tier-f*gs.

Anyways, I hear lots of arguments from both side.

One side says that we Muslims are Obliged to fight all the disbelievers till they pay the jizya or go to war[1][2]. The other says otherwise.[3][4][5]

One side says that we are OBLIGED to establish the Khilafah by Force or Peace but that Forcefully is the most efficient way. The other says otherwise. [6] [7]

So, any hard-researched evidence on why the Islamic State is Un-Islamic? They pray, Do Jihad 'fee sabeel allah', give Zakat, and apply Sharia Law. What is the core wrong deed that they are doing that divides the lines between us and "them"?

Also, If you were to be the leader/caliph of the Islamic State, what would you change? add? subtract? teach?

thanks to all replies.

Saudi Arabia to restore a 900-year-old church as a symbolic gift to the Maronite Patriarch

>The Lebanese Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros Al Rai is in Saudi Arabia for a historic visit.

>The patriarch met the King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman. He also met with the Prime Minister Saad Hariri who said that he would return to Lebanon within days.

>The kingdom intends to restore a 900-year-old church. It will be a symbolic gift to the Lebanese Maronite Patriarch and the symbol of the beginning of the Christian-Islamic dialogue.

>This visit has an important significance since Saudi Arabia vowed to be open to other faiths. The Crown Prince is aiming at moderating Islam and making Saudi Arabia a country open to all religions and cultures.

Muslims have always been divided

Whenever I look through the history of islam, I can't ignore that Muslims have always been divided since the holy prophet phuh left. There's always the sunni shia split that ruined all the muslim empires. Instead of 2 sunni/shia empires that always fought each other, why didn't they ever team up to defeat the other religions?

The ottoman empire was sunni and the safavid empire was shia and they also wasted resources against each other which hurt both sides.

This also prevented the mughal empire from receiving any help.

In the end this caused the empires to crumble because they always need assistance but never gave it to each other. This resulted in Christians, Hindus and/or the British to take over.

Is there any solution for this? Is there a way to unite the muslims?

Islam in Catalonia

Support Catalan secession from Spain.

Catalonia would be the third largest muslim pop% in Europe. Islam is flourishing in the region. Some quotes from an islamophobe:

> In an effort to promote Catalan nationalism and the Catalan language, Catalonian pro-independence parties have deliberately promoted immigration from Arabic-speaking Muslim countries for more than three decades, in the belief that these immigrants (unlike those from Latin America) would learn the Catalan language rather than speak Spanish.

>Although some Catalans are having second thoughts about the wisdom of promoting Muslim mass immigration as a strategy to achieve Catalan independence, it is estimated that up to 10,000 Catalans with links to the separatist movement have actually converted to Islam in recent years. It is believed, for example, that two out of every ten Catalan radicals who belong to the far-left political party, the Republican Left of Catalonia (ERC), are converts to Islam.

>According to one newspaper account, "the new converts refuse to observe Christmas, eat sausage, drink champagne or dance the Sardana [a Catalan circle dance], but prepare their meals with halal meat, read the Quran in Catalan and engage in proselytizing, especially among the more radical Catalan nationalists. One new convert says: 'I'm learning Arabic, but I prefer to read the Quran in Catalan. I praise God in Catalan. It is the language I feel in.'"

>Catalan multiculturalists are also actively proselytizing Muslim immigrants, seeking to convert them to the religion of Catalan nationalism. In July, for instance, Catalan pro-independence activists, seeking to capture future Muslim voters, posted signs in front of mosques around Catalonia which stated that "Catalan sovereignty will help to integrate Muslim immigrants."

>Salafi preachers, who do not believe in democracy – it is a form of government made by man and not by Allah - – are now calling on Muslims who are eligible to vote to support Catalan separatist parties as a means firmly to establish Islamism in Catalonia.

From "gatestone institute"

Anyway, Catalonia is at least 7% muslim and Spain is an evil country that killed muslims there and in phillipines. God damn Spain. Viva al-Andalus Viva Catalonia.

Problems with the zabur/psalms?

I should probably preface this by saying that I'm not a Muslim, but I'm very interested in the religion and may revert. I've read both The Bible and The Quran, and I've got a question about the psalms. I know the Biblical Books of Moses are considered to be corruptions of the Tawrat, and the Biblical Gospels aren't the true Injil, but what about Psalms? I know the specific ways the Pentateuch contradicts the Quran (removes the story of Iblis, removes the moral from Cain and Abel, the laws in the last three books are different from Islamic laws), and I know how the Gospels contradict the Quran (proclaims the 3-in-1 Body Wash, the deity of Christ, the belief that God has a son), and but I don't know what the issue with the psalms is. Does anyone have more knowledge on the subject, does anyone know where specific verses of the psalms go against Islam? Sorry if this is a weird inquiry

Islamic Names / Culture in co-existence with Islam

Names are an important aspect of culture. We can see in traditionally Christian countries there being a tradition of incorporating biblical and religious names. But there is always the indigenous people's own names present. E.g, Englishmen have the religious names: Joshua, Paul, John, and so on, and then ethnic names: Oswald, Wilfred, Edward, etc. In Islam, is this also true?

All the converts I see turn their back on their heritage by adopting Arab names. Is Islam really so all-encompassing it basically aims to create a mono-culture?

Post your conversion/reversion stories

I made a thread like this a while ago, but it looks like it's gone. I'm not sure if it broke a rule, but if it did, then please feel free to also delete this one.

As for my story:

>be born in a very Christian country in Eastern Europe

>only surrounded by Christians, never meet a non-Christian until I move to the west with my family

>start becoming more religious at the age of 14, consider joining the priesthood of the Church after high school

>notice my entire family is cultural Christians, they pick and choose what to do, I'm the only one that bothers following everything that the Church teaches

>try to teach them the doctrines of the Church, always get ridiculed for being too observant of the teachings and too backwards, feel alone in my faith

>take World Religions course at the Catholic high school I go to, get exposure to Islam for the first time, immediately interested in it

>be struggling between Islam/Christianity by the time I'm 16

>skip 4 years, have been a pseudo-Muslim the whole time and didn't take the Shahada with witnesses until last month

tl;dr: as ironic as it may be, my family and Catholicism have led me to Islam.

Post your stories, brothers and sisters. :).

Settling in non-muslim countries is forbidden?

Is it true? Are Muslims allowed to migrate to non-Muslim countries?

>The basic principle is that it is not permissible for the Muslim to settle among the mushrikeen. This is indicated by evidence from the Qur’aan and Sunnah, and on the basis of common sense.

>In the Qur’aan, Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

>“Verily, as for those whom the angels take (in death) while they are wronging themselves (as they stayed among the disbelievers even though emigration was obligatory for them), they (angels) say (to them): “In what (condition) were you?” They reply: “We were weak and oppressed on the earth.” They (angels) say: “Was not the earth of Allaah spacious enough for you to emigrate therein?” Such men will find their abode in Hell — what an evil destination!”

>[al-Nisa’ 4:97]

>In the Sunnah, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “I disown every Muslim who settles among the mushrikeen.” Narrated by Abu Dawood, 2645; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.

bidah

my issue with hadiths is when they make claims that can't be verified by the Quran at all, thus creating a new invention, new practice, new belief not revealed by God explicitly or implicitly.

For example, if a practice is alluded to in the Quran and a valid hadith explains how, why and when to practice it then that is fine. But if a belief or practice has no root in the Quran then a hadith that declares it as "obligatory" is immediately dubious in my mind and most likely bidah.

How do you bridge this unbridgeable gap?

Topic of abrogration

Hey, I have recently stumbled across this article

Although that site is a quranist site, some of the points it made is quite logical. My question is, is there a specific universally accepted answer to the topic of abrogation as stated in the Holy Quran :

[Quran 2:106] Whichever Ayah We relinquish or cause to be forgotten We replace it with its equal or with that which is greater, did you not know that God is capable of all things?"? If so what is it, and if the site is wrong, can you point out the wrongs it made. Also is there any opposing sites to this one? thanks in advance

The Cancer of Nabeel Qureshi

As some of you may know there is a famous fake "ex-muslim" named Nabeel Qureshi. He was never muslim, he believed a random desi named Mirza Ghulem Ahmad was Isa bin Maryam (pbuh) and Imam Mahdi.

Well, he apparently has an advanced cancer. He is 34 years old.

This is notable to us only in so much as this person was associated with "answering-islam" - which is quite a bit.

Why?

Because "answering-islam" celebrated the death of Ahmed Deedat as a divine retribution by the Christian Jesus-God.

http://answering-islam.org/Responses/Deedat/downfall.htm

Ahmed Deedat was 87.

This is a reminder to not sink to their level no matter what happens to their fake ex-muslim pet.

Disbelievers

Indeed, those who have divided their religion and become sects - you, [O Muhammad], are not [associated] with them in anything. Their affair is only [left] to Allah ; then He will inform them about what they used to do. - 6:159

Salafis are disbelievers, Tijani tariqah are disbelievers, Qadiriyya are disbelievers, Naqshbandis are disvelievers, Shaziliyya are disbelievers, Mu'tazila are disbelievers, Shiia are disvelievers, and Saudi Arabia is not islamic, the are the people of Abdullah bin Obayy Al Saloul, they are not followers of the Nabi, Ka'bah is the house of Allah and the Masjid Al Nabawwi is home, and since the Saudis changed the religion of Allah they must enter the hellfire. We have to follow only the Quran, the Sunnah, and we can't wish por praises of the infidels, we want their hate and we will have them too, we have to combate them we have to kill them, we have to exterminate them because they want to exterminate us.

And We ordained for them therein a life for a life, an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose, an ear for an ear, a tooth for a tooth, and for wounds is legal retribution. But whoever gives [up his right as] charity, it is an expiation for him. And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed - then it is those who are the wrongdoers. - 5:45

seriously, i've personally watched their videos from their original source and they seem to implement sharia for everyone there (syria/iraq). The only stuff that I think are too much is that they are highly ignorant about how to handle the kuffar. Like, not all infidels know about islam and purposefully hate on it.

another thing is that they take way too much time in trying to take over the personal life of the people under their control.

A screencap I found on /pol/

So I found these screenshots on /pol/ shit-talking Islam hardcore, and I wanted to see if /islam/ had any sort of rebuttals. My only problems with these is that most of the historical facts lack sources, albeit the qu'ranic verses have references. There's other shit like music/art/etc.being heretical but that makes no sense as the middle east has made plenty of music and art and still does so to this day. That and the whole killing other Abrahamic faiths, when to my knowledge Christians and Jews at least can live in muslim countries so long as they pay a poll tax.

I could go on about little things that confuse me, but I feel you guys would probably provide the best counterargument. Remember to read the entire thing first in case a counterpoint you make is addressed later on, and provide sources for your claims. Thank you in advance.

Also a couple of other questions. Does taqiyaa only cover lying about being muslim when admitting to it would get you in trouble or can you lie about other shit, if so, what? And does Islam feel that polytheists should be killed?

Let us liberate Gab.ai?

Its a really interesting idea. Their are not many Muslims, from what I see, but its a free speech typed social media. Plan:

1: We make our own council! Like, "Muslims Council of Gab" (MCG)

It'll be like a group type organization soulely made to the spread of Islam. And who knows? Someone might revert to Islam!

2: everyone should make a temporary account on gab. But have it islamicaly related. Like Islamic calligraphy, history, arabic. I.e gab.ai/frediliant

3: We can post Islamic media to shed the light of the truth everywhere. Its easy to register and post things.

Tips: use the website type and not the app. Its glitchy as hell.

Friend's youtube comment refuting an islamaphobe

You're incorrect, morgan. He was not a pedophile. Why? Because historical accounts and teachings are inconsistent with your fallacy. Before I get deeply into this let us take a look at the timeline of Prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) life.

the start of the mission was in the year of 610 AD (Mecca)–and the migration to Medina was in the year of 623 AD–the Prophet dies in the year of 633 AD

It is known that Muhammad married Aisha before his journey to Medina in the year of 620 AD. This was 10 years after the "revelation" that claims Aisha was 6 years old when they married, and that also claims he started having sexual intercourse with her 3 years and few months later, which was at the end of the year (623 AD) when she would be (9) years old. 🙄 This implies that she was born in the year (614 AD) which was the (4th ) year of the revelation according to Bukhari. This is nonsense because-

Historical references show that Aisha's older sister Asma was 10 years older than her younger sister & born 27 years before her migration to Medina. That would make Asma 14 years old & would also show Aisha was born in the year of 606 AD.

So by the time they married (620 AD) Aisha was 14 but remember they waited 3 years and a few months before consummating. Making her 17 or 18 at the time (i'm not sure what month it was.)

Another reference also confirms Aisha's age. Asama's well documented murder shows that she and her son were murdered at the age of 100 on the 73rd Hijri (yearly anniversary of migration to Medina). This again proves Asama's age of 27.

Another reference also shows that she remembers her father and Muhammad leaving to Abyssinia which is in the 5th year of revelation. If she was born in the 4th year of revelation as Bukhari claims she wouldn't remember that because she would be 1.

Finishing up i'd like to inform you that there are many clouded hadiths and that's been a huge issue for a while. What I want you to do is buy a Quran (I can buy one for you) and read it. When you come across a hadith that sounds strange you can open the Quran and see if it contradicts the laws of Allah. If it does the hadith is fabricated. There are more ways to test the legitimacy of a hadith like I did above but that's the advanced method. Have a nice day and I hope you are guided onto the right path.

As a muslim I have noticed that in christianity, there is an inherent weakness in politics. The bible, while helpful, has no actual policies to run by and you have to make on platitudes. it's not like islam where there is sharia law and a whole science of politics to it. Maybe thats why there are so easy to resist christian politics, as people can just bring up memes like seperation of church and state or religion is a thing to keep private due to the nature of the religion.

Islam & Science - Doubts / Questions

Salam, I have been debating with lots of your typical Atheists/Skeptics. And I saw this thread on Google+: https://plus.google.com/113502479599505264759/posts/d9j1UMgh3Tm

The main point here, specifically, is;

1: can anyone specifically tell me the stages as they are described in the Qur'an, about embryology? The main problem in this topic is that the Qur'an supposedly said Flesh are grown than bones, but science says Flesh and bones grow *simultaneously*.

2: ["Would ye really approach men in your lusts rather than women? Nay, ye are a people (grossly) ignorant!

Qur'an 27:55"

Homosexuality was something that did not exist prior to the people of Lot.] Can anyone specify this statement? (Note: all in brackets are copied from wikiislam. I chose this anti islamic sites only because it is pretty convincing, prior to other lies it spews out.)

3: [I will certainly cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, then will I crucify you all together. [Surah 7:124]

Said he: You believe in him before I give you permission; most surely he is the chief of you who taught you the magic, so you shall know: certainly I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and certainly I will crucify you all. [Surah 26:49]

In the story of Joseph, about 400 years earlier we also read of another crucifixion in this passage:

O my two mates of the prison! as for one of you, he shall give his lord to drink wine; and as for the other, he shall be crucified, so that the birds shall eat from his head, the matter is decreed concerning which you inquired. [Surah 12:41]

We have, however, no record that Egyptians used crucifixion as punishment in the time of Moses (1450 BC, conservative date; 1200 BC at the latest) or even Joseph (1880 BC, conservative date). Crucifixion only becomes a punishment much later in history and then first in another culture before it has been taken over by the Egyptians. Such threats by a Pharaoh at these times are historically inaccurate.]

Thoughts?

These questions among others, are bringing to the brink of agnosticism, or even atheism if not answered. Thanks - anon

THE RISE OF THE FAR-RIGHT

>It is reported in the Sahih of Imam Muslim that one day our Prophet Muhammad(S) was once sitting on one of the houses of Medinah. He looked around and said to the Sahabas: “Do you see what I’m seeing” They said “What oh Messenger of Allah” The Prophet answered: I see trials and tribulations falling upon your houses like the drops of rain. The frequency , the quantity will affect everybody”

>In another Hadith, our Prophet(S) said that towards end of time, trials would become repetitive by nature. Every time a trial/calamity would come, the believers would become scared and terrified. They will say that we cannot pass this trial. The Prophet(S) said Allah will open up the doors and let it go away. Then another will come, they will say “ This is my destruction” and so on and so forth.

I have a partial circumcision due to having phimosis as a kid and getting it treated involved a small circumcision. Would that be sufficient??; I haven't converted atm just wondering cause my gf is muslim….thinking about future.

Thanks

Why don't more Christians convert?

The Blessed Quran says

>You will surely find the most intense of the people in animosity toward the believers [to be] the Jews and those who associate others with Allah ; and you will find the nearest of them in affection to the believers those who say, "We are Christians." That is because among them are priests and monks and because they are not arrogant.

>And when they hear what has been revealed to the Messenger, you see their eyes overflowing with tears because of what they have recognized of the truth. They say, "Our Lord, we have believed, so register us among the witnesses.

>And why should we not believe in Allah and what has come to us of the truth? And we aspire that our Lord will admit us [to Paradise] with the righteous people."

>So Allah rewarded them for what they said with gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. And that is the reward of doers of good.

Why do Christians side with the accursed Jews? Why do they bomb Muslim countries? Why don't they convert?

Feel Good Story: South African Prisoner Becomes Muslim

Alhamdulillah.

We have a new brother and he is happy and free. May Allah make the straight path blissful and wide for this new brother. Ameen.

>Stephen McGown opens up about six years as al-Qaeda hostage and how he converted to Islam

>South African hostage Stephen McGown, who was held by al-Qaeda in Mali for nearly six years, said on Thursday he had been well treated but was distraught to have not be freed before his mother died.

>Speaking just 10 days after being released, he said he had converted to Islam in the Sahara desert, and added that he was determined to be positive after his ordeal.

>McGown, 42, who also holds British citizenship, sat next to his wife as he spoke for an hour to reporters, saying he had no idea if any ransom was paid, and telling how he was sometimes held in handcuffs and chains at night with two other hostages.

>"I did my best to see the best in a bad situation," Mr McGown said.

>"I didn't want to come out an angry person and be a bigger burden on my family," he said.

>"Sometimes you are miserable and you want to fight everyone (but) I did not want to become a mess. I want to come home a better person. He paid tribute to his mother who died in May, saying she was "an amazing lady and I can imagine the difficulties she went through."

>He said he built a simple hut of grass and sticks to survive the cold desert nights when he often had only one blanket, adding that he feared for his life three times in the first three months after he was captured in 2011.

>Mr McGown was kidnapped at a hotel in the historic trading city of Timbuktu in Mali's north along with Swede Johan Gustafsson and Dutchman Sjaak Rijke, both of whom were subsequently released.

>The South African government has insisted that no ransom was paid to secure McGown's release, which was completed on July 29, but some reports have suggested $4.2 million was handed over.

>McGown said he had been better treated after converting to Islam, being given better clothing and food.

>"Before the desert, I was a Christian. I entered (Islam) of my own accord," said the ex-hostage with a heavy beard.

>"I see many good things in Islam. It requires a very good character, a very strict character."

>Mr McGown admitted to being "in the dark" over world events in the last six years as the hostages had only had a radio for a short time and no books in English.

Perennialism

How do posters here feel about perennialism in general―basically the belief that underlying the world's varying traditions is one universal and ultimately incommunicable (in its essence) Truth? This is a bit oversimplified of a definition and could use quite a few conditions and caveats to moderate it, but it's basically the idea. I ask because I'm very sympathetic to Islam and I've come close to converting before but I'm worried about what the reception of some of my views will be by other Muslims (unfortunately I don't know any personally). I'm quite averse to any extreme form of "exclusivism" (i.e. only we are right and everyone else is going to hell).

Hopefully this thread will turn up some interesting conversation, and you guys can help clear my doubts insha'Allah.

Islamic Food/Medicine Practices

Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (ﷺ) forbade us from drinking while standing. Qatadah reported: "We asked him: 'What about eating?"' He said: "That is even worse, (or may be he said) more detestable."

“The Prophet (PBUH) never criticized any food (he was invited to) but he used to eat it if he liked the food, and leave it if he disliked it.”

“Nothing is worse than a person who fills his stomach. It should be enough for the son of Adam to have a few bites to satisfy his hunger. If he wishes more, it should be: One-third for his food, one-third for his liquids, and one-third for his breath.”

“Do not drink in one gulp like a camel, but in two or three (gulps). Mention the Name of Allah (i.e., say Bismillah) when you start drinking and praise Him (i.e., say Al-hamdu lillah) after you have finished (drinking).”

iv) Imam al-Sādiq (a): the Noble Prophet (s) used to lick his fingers after he ate.

[10]: It was also reported that he said, “I do not eat reclining.” [13]

Question from a Christian

In the Quran, Surah 2:62, it says:

"Verily! Those who believe and those who are Jews and Christians, and Sabians, whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day and do righteous good deeds shall have their reward with their Lord, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve."

So am I saved? I believe in Allah and the last day as a Christian, where does that put me?

Morality in Islam

What is the Islamic point of view on morality? The way it seems to me is that "morality", in the philosophical sense, is an entirely subjective notion with origins in Europe, maybe going back as far as the Greeks. If you look at the way the Hebrew OT, for example, uses the words "tov" and "ra", it arguably never (debatable point, which is why I made this thread) carries a "moral" meaning in the modern sense. So when Eve sees the fruit of the tree she was forbidden to eat from it says that it appeared to her as being "tov" (i.e. good) for eating. This is obviously not a moral statement. Generally "tov" seems to carry connotations of pleasant, wholesome, advantageous, comforting, and so on, while "ra" carries connotations of dangerous, diseased, disadvantageous, harmful, unpleasant etc. What about the Quran then? Well I'm not a native Arabic speaker, and this idea just occured to me a few minutes ago as I was reading surat as-Sajdah, so I haven't had time to look into it deeply. I noticed the following verse (7) as I was reading: "Who made all things good which He created…". The word there, I believe is "ahsan" which from what I can gather means perfect, excellent, and beautiful. This is no different than if a carpenter made a table and one called it perfect. It wouldn't mean that it was a very moral table, which would be absurd, but rather that it was very well proportioned, beautiful, containing no dents or scratches, etc.

If the moral point of view turns out to have no sanction in the Quran that would have tremendous consequences. It would mean that we have been influenced by a modern concept which we have been retroactively reading into a text in which it is not even present in the first place, thus subtly distorting our view of that text. How many other such concepts have been intoduced into our thinking?

As for defining what the "moral point of view" even is, that is admittedly difficult. It's a notoriously vague concept with a lot of sentimental overtones. There's a reason European philosophy has struggled with those notions for so long, never really managing to propose a coherent justification for it. As far back as Plato's Euthyphro you find paradoxes such as the "Is something good because God commands it or does God command it because it is good?". The real problem with that paradox is how ill-defined and imprecisely the term "good" is being used (which is basicaly the point of the dialogue, i.e. Socrates is trying to show Euthyphro he has imprecise and poorly defined notions). The lack of any serious foundation for "morality" is probably the main reason for the crisis of nihilism Europe is undergoing.

So what are the different terms in the Quran conventionally translated as "good", and what meaning do they actually carry? Does the Quran actually sanction a "moral point of view"? I won't deny my bias from the outset. I really hope it doesn't sanction such a view since I simply can't take "morality" in the conventional sense seriously. In any case, I hope to benefit the knowledge and assistance of fellow board members on this dilemma, insha'Allah.

Islam and the Wes.

Assalamuialakum, Brothers,

I love the West.

I love the freedoms it provides, the secularism it ensures, and the free-market it upholds. It is, without a doubt, the greatest civilization on earth. However, there is an issue. Religion is at an all-time low in this part of the world, with Christianity seeing the lowest rates of conversion among worldly religions. Now, noticing the rapid rise of Islam, I've realized that Islam and the West need each other more than ever.

Here is why:

- Muslims are in desperate need of modernization. I don't mean this in the cliche, abandoning religion form. I mean a purge of Wahhabist influences and a return to the intellectual enlightenment Muslims in places such as the Caliphate of Cordoba saw.

- The West is in desperate need of upholding its' own values. Judeo-Christian values are falling by the waysides, and Abrahamic values need to be upheld to stop the rise of moral relativism.

What I'm saying is that "Western Islam" must see a rise, for the future of our religion and the West as a whole.

What do you think, /muslims/?

no point, kind of personal blog

I feel so confused about dua thing for a long time. These are the main opinions on why duas are accepted or aren't I came across;

Opinion 1: Allah accepts even duas of disbelievers so Allah surely accepts duas of believers, even if the believer is sinful.

Opinion 2: Allah doesn't accept your duas unless you stop sinning, make dua properly, make dua in the right time, want something really good for you, insist on your dua and if you don't complete endless reasons Allah doesn't accept your dua so long story short you have to be perfect.

I've had ups and downs in my religious life and my duas were never accepted. I don't tend to believe neither opinions in slightest, I have no idea at all. There are few more things I can't understand and make me leave more confused whenever I try to understand them, not related to philosophy of Islam but things like this one. in this ayah according to most of tafseers , human is thinking with his heart (not brain) , and we all know that brain is responsible for thinking , and the only nerves in heart are SA and AV nodes , and those are responsible only for regulating heart beats

The Prophet Reborn

I was contemplating a bit of a thought experiment and figured I'd share with the group and see where the discussion takes us.

If Muhammad(pbuh) were alive today, woken up into our world, what would he say about us? About Islam? About the various splinter groups and sects and schools of thought?

Is there any particular group that he may favor? What would he say about groups like ISIS, the Taliban, Hamas, or other militant groups? What would he think of modern Arabia or modern Jerusalem?

I'm not interested in Sunni/Shi'a fighting or anything like that. I'm just curious as to what /islam/ thinks or if /islam/ has ever contemplated such things.

"Turr" in an age of Ignorance & Hypocrisy

Some "white sharia" /pol/tards and trinitards have been throwing themselves on the barb wire here at /islam/ to bitch and moan about something that happened at I guess a Taylor Swift concert in Liverpool or something. The message couldn't be clearer: "whenever our own governments or coreligionists bomb we are not responsible, but whenever one or two muslims anywhere in the world do a bombing: all muslims are guilty and must perform a billion man march of atonement."

These attacks are not motivated by anglo gutter culture or Islam. They are motivated by revenge for the past 15 years of anglo airstrikes which have killed thousands of kids just as innocent as these. People should stop bombing in the ME, NA, and South Asia… and Europe. The Anglo bombing of muslim kids does not justify bombing their kids because the Anglos are not our teachers. That is revenge, not justice. But the reverse also holds true.

The Bible is objectively more violent than The Quran:

http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/books/violence-more-common-in-bible-than-quran-text-analysis-reveals-a6863381.html

You wanna talk about killing kids and religion? Ok.

Psalm 137:9 How blessed will be the one who seizes and dashes your infants against the rocks.

1 Samuel 15:3 Now go, attack the Amalekites and utterly destroy everything that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.'”

Whereas even the Quranic verses pertaining to battle extend olive branches to the disbelievers even after violating treaties and driving out/killing believers. Children, women, livestock, even crops & trees are not allowed to be harmed - and repentance of the enemy men to God is respected by the believers. This gets back to my original point about not killing kids, which despite what your Bible says is not OK. When it comes to killing kids, when a muslim does it they are violating their holy book whereas the judeochristian is obeying theirs. Muslims that bomb kids to dispense revenge are just as guilty as the cowards that fight from the air since they rather shed blood of muslim kids as collateral damage than christian soldiers. If you don't answer for the crimes of judeochristians or even your own governments then don't expect us to answer for the crimes of muslims. Stop being shrill, hypocritical bitches and try to at least have stiff upper lip.

The only prominent political leader that perhaps understands this is Jeremy Corbyn. Bongtards are seething that he mentioned Bong foreign policy, lol, subhanAllah. You judeochristians and /pol/tards that act like victims of "rapefugees" as the US, France, and Britain are conducting imperial bombing campaigns are cringeworthy crybullies. The refugees are accepted for two reasons:

1.) economic : but lol because you can't even into this. You prefer conspiracy theories.

2.) pressure relief valve used by western countries to strategically depopulate areas to reduce anti-imperialist resistance.

The more bombing campaigns, the more refugees. The more retarded support for Assad, the more refugees. You are literally bombing yourselves muslim. And yes while painful for actual muslims and triggering to shitlord basement dwellers this is all part of God's decree which has no flaws.

Quran 4:85 Whoever recommends and helps a good cause becomes a partner therein: And whoever recommends and helps an evil cause, shares in its burden: And Allah hath power over all things.

Islam & Race Mixing

While I know that Islam at its heart discourages racism and looking down on others because of their race (despite the fact that racism isn't unknown in the Muslim world), I often have trouble with how many modern Muslims talk about this issue.

On the one hand, you have the modern, progressive Muslims who condemn racism and tribalism as say Islam came to get rid of these things (but often make exceptions in this case for non-whites who are allowed to revel in their unique cultural heritages). You then have the political Islamists who want to replace all national, tribal and racial distinctions with a globalizing "Ummah". But both of these understandings to me seem at odds with historical fact and present reality and at times feel biased against whites or white Europeans in such a way that makes me feel there's a kernel of truth to some of /pol/'s sterotypes

I'm mixed myself and I don't want anyone to think I'm a crossboarder from /pol/ or that I'm biased towards any one race or nationality, but my understanding is that while Islam may permit race mixing by emphasizing the individual's piety more than anything else, because Islam also sanctified the "tribe" with its particular system of family values that gave authority to patriarchs and emphasized self-sufficiency, it also tempered this license with a certain assurance that individual tribes would continue to be able to maintain a healthy measure of autonomy from one another even as they may have mixed for political reasons.

If all the white Germans tomorrow, for example, suddenly converted to Islam, wouldn't Muslims be obliged to respect their wishes if the male elders of all those white German families decided they wanted to be Muslim yet stay white and not be forced to mix with others except to the degree they feel most comfortable with? After all, most Muslims in the Middle East and other parts of the Islamic world continue to just marry within their own nationalities and language blocks, despite the "there's no racism in Islam" slogans.

Quran, Hadith, Quranism

Quranist here, I just wanted to say the following:

The hadith are what cause and promote terrorism against innocent people:

"The Prophet passed by me at a place called Al-Abwa or Waddan, and was asked whether it was permissible to attack the pagan warriors at night with the probability of exposing their women and children to danger. The Prophet replied, "They (i.e. women and children) are from them (i.e. pagans)."

Sahih Bukhari 4:52:256

Muhammad said "they are of them" more than 3 times when children were killed.

It is narrated by Sa'b b. Jaththama that he said (to the Holy Prophet)" Messenger of Allah, we kill the children of the polytheists during the night raids". He said: "They are from them".

Sahih Muslim 19:4322

There is also not proof whatsoever that the indicates that the apostasy hadith only existed because they were at a risk of getting backstabbed by the apostates.

And unless you are a Shi'i, the hadith are very clear about the age Prophet Muhammad was supposed to have had sex with Aisha.

'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) married her when she was seven years old, and he was taken to his house as a bride when she was nine, and her dolls were with her; and when he (the Holy Prophet) died she was eighteen years old.

Sahih Muslim 8:3311

Reform or stay terrorist enablers, I'm sick and tired of becoming an object of hate because of the shit salafaggots teach and practice.

Practising Az-Zuhd in the Dunya

Various

What Does Az-Zuhd Mean?

Az-Zuhd is, "The opposite of being eager and concerned about the dunya (the life of this world)." Further, Ibn al-Qayyim said, "Az-Zuhd, in the Arabic language, the language of Islam, entails abandoning a matter while despising it and while belittling its significance, so that one will exchange it for what is more significant."

The Muslim ancestors who set good examples in the application of Islam have various opinions with regards to the meaning of az-Zuhd. Ibn al-Qayyim for example said, "I heard Shaykh ul-Islam ibn Taymiyyah say, 'Az-Zuhd entails abandoning what does not bring about benefit in the Hereafter. Al-Wara' (abandoning a part of the permissible for fear of falling into the impermissible) entails abandoning what you fear its consequences in the Hereafter.' " Then, Ibn al-Qayyim commented, "This statement is one of the best and most comprehensive definitions of az-zuhd and al-wara'."

In addition, Sufyan ath-Thawri said, "Az-Zuhd in this dunya entails having a short hope (or avoiding having hopes that one will live long), not by wearing the thick clothes or wearing the garment (as some people who observe fake zuhd think is a part of az-zuhd)."

Imam az-Zuhri also said that Az-Zuhd, "Entails avoiding thanking Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala only for the halal, and avoiding being patient only with the haram." The author of Al-Lisan (a dictionary on the Arabic language) commented on the statement of az-Zuhri,"He means that one should not only thank Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for the permissible things that He has given him (but also for the obligations, for their rewards with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala are significant), and should avoid restricting his patience to avoiding the impermissible (but couple that with avoiding enjoying all types of the halal, as an act of modesty, patience and zuhd)."

Al-Hasan al-Basri also said, "Az-Zuhd in this dunya is not achieved by prohibiting the halal, nor by wasting money. Rather, it entails your being more certain in what Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has in His Hands, than your are about what you have in your hand. It also entails being eager for the reward of (practicing patience during) the calamity, if a calamity touches you, more than if the calamity did not touch you (as in this case, one will not gain the reward for observing patience during hard times. However, one should not wish for disasters to hit)." All these sayings given to us by the Muslim ancestors who set good examples in the application of Islam, are among the best definitions for the meaning of az-zuhd.

Az-Zuhd resides in the heart, and it can be achieved by ridding the heart of the slave from the love and the eagerness for this life. This way, the dunya will be in one's hand, not in his heart, where the love for Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and the Hereafter will and should reside. Az-Zuhd does not entail abandoning the dunya altogether. The Messenger of Allah sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam was the leader of all those who practiced az-zuhd. Yet, he married nine times. Also, Prophet Dawud and Sulayman were kings as Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has described them. Yet, they were also among the zuhhad (those who observe zuhd). The companions of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam were also among the zuhhad. Yet, they all had wives, children and material possessions.

Imam Ahmad divided az-zuhd into three parts:

Avoiding the prohibitions, and this is the zuhd of the commoners. Ibn al-Qayyim stated that this type is an obligation;

Abandoning what is not a necessity among the halal matters. This type is the zuhd of the distinguished people; and

Abandoning what will busy one from the remembrance of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. This is the zuhd of those who have knowledge in the religion.

The Status of this Hadith

The importance of this hadith is demonstrated in the fact that it explains the way through which one can gain Allah's subhanahu wa ta'ala Love, which is the ultimate prize that mankind can and should ever seek to achieve and attain. He whom Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala loves, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will honor him and will spread about his love in the earth. As for he whom Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala hates, He will spread about his hatred in the earth. Further, this hadith explains the conduct because of which mankind will love the slave. It is a fact that when a person is loved by his community, he or she will feel great happiness and joy. Also, when one is loved by his community, he or she will be more acceptable and familiar to his people, and this will help those who call unto Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala succeed in their mission, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala willing.

Belittling the Dunya

The Messenger of Allah sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam said, "Perform zuhd in the dunya."

There are many texts in the Qur'an and the Sunnah that encourage being a zahid in the dunya. These texts demonstrate the little significance that the dunya has and point out its briefness and quick demise. These texts also strengthen the eagerness in the Last Life, which joy is eternal. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says:

"Whatever is with you, will be exhausted, and whatever with Allah (of good deeds) will remain." [Al-Qur'an 16:96]

"Know that the life of this world is only play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting among you, and rivalry in respect of wealth and children, as the likeness of vegetation after rain, thereof the growth is pleasing to the tiller; afterwards it dries up and you see it turning yellow; then it becomes straw. But in the Hereafter (there is) a severe torment (for the believers, evildoers), and (there is) Forgiveness of Allah and (His) Good Pleasure (for the believers, gooddoers), whereas the life of this world is only a deceiving enjoyment." [Al-Qur'an 57:20]

The dunya, therefore, is brief and is bound to end sometime soon. Therefore, the slave ought not busy himself with its affairs, nor forget the affair of the Last Life which will never end.

The last ayat states that the life of this world is a deceiving, short-lived joy that contains what does not bring about any benefit. Also the life of this world is pomp, which will encourage one to indulge in it and forget the Hereafter.

Further, this life is full of competition and boasting about having what this life offers of money, offspring, etc. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala then illustrates the briefness of this life by mentioning the rain when it comes down on the earth and thus the ground becomes green and lively with various plants and vegetation. Soon afterwards, the earth will revert to its near past and will become dry and dead again. This is the exact case with the life of this world.

Reasons Behind Az-Zuhd

There are several reasons that encourage one to indulge in zuhd:

The slave's iman being strong, his remembering when he or she will stand between the Hands of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, and his remembering the torments of the Day of Resurrection will all rid his heart from all will belittle the love of this dunya and its short-lived joys. Hence, the slave will avoid excessive indulging in the joys and the desires of this life, all the while feeling content with whatever he has in it;

The slave's feeling that this dunya busies the hearts from the remembering of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and that it hinders the path of mankind from stepping up the ladder of acquiring higher grades in the Hereafter. Also, the Muslim's feeling that mankind will certainly be asked about the joys and the delights of this life, as Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says, "Then, on that Day, you shall be asked about the delight (you indulged in, in this world)!" [Al-Qur'an 102:8];

One will not acquire the material joys of this life unless he or she works hard to achieve such a goal. In this regard, mankind pays a significant effort and deep thinking. One may then have to mingle with the worst types of people. All this will come at the expense of seeking knowledge of the religion, conducting da'wah unto Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, performing jihad and worshipping Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. When the slave feels all this and when he has an enlightened heart, he will feel compelled and encouraged to disregard the dunya, so that he will be able to preserved what is essential and that which will never end; and

The Qur'an belittles the significance of the dunya and its joys, while describing this life as deceiving, false and short-lived pastime that involves wasting the time. Also, Allah's subhanahu wa ta'ala criticism of the adverse effect that excessive indulging in the dunya will result in the Hereafter. The numerous texts in the Qur'an and the Sunnah about this subject will encourage the Muslim to abandon matters of the dunya and busy himself with what will truly remain.

Jabir ibn 'Abdullah said that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam once passed by the marketplace, passing from the area of al-'Aliyah, while people were all around him. He then passed by a dead goat, which ears were small, then took it by the ear, saying, "Who amongst you would like to have this (dead goat with small ears) for a dirham (a currency)?" They said, "By Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala! Even if it was alive, its small ears will be a deficiency, so how about when it is dead?" He sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam said, "By Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala! The dunya is less significant in the Sight of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala than this is to you." [Sharh Muslim]

Furthermore, Al-Mustawrid al-Fihry related from the Prophet sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam that he said, "The dunya, as compared to the akhirah (the Hereafter), is just like when one of you dips his finger in the sea! Let him see how much (water) it (his finger) will carry." [Sahih al-Jami']

Islam FAQ

We need a "Answers to Common Questions" thread that can be permanently stickied. Basically something to which people can be directed when they ask the same question that's been answered 1000x.

In that spirit, I'm going to open up this thread so that we can condense the questions/answers and I'll make a thread from there. Obviously some questions will have slightly different answers based on school of thought, but I'm not going for consensus. I'm going for a general idea - with informative links - on any given common questions.

Contribute all you want and as much as you feel like; but keep in mind that I'd like to keep it down to 8-10 common questions. Even if it's a troll question like "do I get many loli wives if I convert?" Anything that is asked on the board on a regular basis even though we've answered it a million times.

Underage Relationships

Is child marriage and underage 'consummation' something implicitly acceptable in Islamic law?

I've been told, rightly or wrongly, that your Prophet Muhammad married Aisha at the age of six and consummated that marriage when she was only nine years old.

It's one of the only real hangups I have with Islam as a religion. I even see a lot of the sense in the often much demonised prohibitions, such as those against alcohol and other mind-numbing drugs. (What sense does it make to willingly poison yourself and do things you will only regret?) I simply can't reconcile underage relationships with my conscience.

TL;DR

>Is underage intercourse and marriage actually sanctioned/implicitly permitted under Sharia?

>If so, how is this permission/sanction justifiable?

>Is the supposed 'pedophilic' relationship between the Prophet and Aisha a truthful understanding of their relationship?

I'm not looking for any 'gotcha', 'Islam BTFO' point-scoring, I'm only looking for the truth on these matters.

Clearing up misconceptions (?) about Muhammad

Growing up I have always hated Islam and Muslims. I belong to an Abrahamic faith and as I started learning more about the theology of Islam, it started making more sense.

The only things that I can't get over is what I learned about Muhammad and some aspects of the theology. I know that I can Google all of these, but I wanted to get opinions from you guys and maybe ask follow-up questions about some of these beliefs?

Here goes:

>Muhammad was a warlord that spread Islam

>Muhammad got betrothed to Aisha at 6 and consummated the marriage with sex when she was 9 and he was in his 50s

>Praying towards the Kaaba is idolatry

>The Qur'an contains many errors and is therefore not a divinely inspired book (e.g. the confusion of Old Testament characters with those from the New Testament, or getting scientific facts wrong)

The biggest hurdle for me is accepting Muhammad as a prophet if he did all those violent and sexually deviant things, you know? There's also a lot of cultural tensions between those from the Muslim world and the one I'm from.

Radicalization caused by leftists?

Hello islam, I am not a Muslim but I heard an interesting theory about radicalization and I wanted to know if it was bullshit.

If you look at the data on radicalization in the west, it is overwhelmingly 2nd and 3rd generation Muslims who become radicalized, which seems strange because you would think that the first generation orthodox Muslims would be more "hardcore" than westernized youth. The idea is that they see the blatant lies spread about Islam (it's pro-feminism, being gay is OK, it is about tolerating new ideas) by leftist professors and college girls as an attack on their culture and on their God, so they attack western society in return. Does this idea have any credibility? Sorry if this post is against the rules, I figured to post this here because the nature of 8chan will garner more honest responses.

Redpill me on geopolitics in the Muslim world

Hello /islam/, non-Muslim here.

Could you explain the politics of this region to me from a Muslim perspective? Which areas are Shia and Sunni? What's the deal with Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan after the US finished with them? Who are the good guys and who are the bad guys?

Christian-Muslim Alliance Against Modernism

So there was a thread on /christian/ about Muslims and Xtians uniting on common values, like opposing liberals who want to encourage moral degradation, abortion, LGBT+ trash culture, and so on. They seemed to reject the idea out of hand on the basis that they didn't think Muslims, even though they're Abrahamic, were allies because they didn't accept Jesus as God. Also stuff like how Muslims treat Middle Eastern Christians like the Copts.

What's your lot's take on that proposition? Could the Abrahamists all come together and work against modernism? Could there be parity between you all in a society, rather than constant fighting between Jews, Muslims and Christians? You all worship the same God.

Sufism

Not sure if there's already a thread on this, but can someone fill me in on Sufism? I'm "new" to Islam with only about a year and a half under my belt, but from the little I read about Sufism/Islamic spirituality/esoterism and it seems to more or less be my thing.

But I still don't know much about it aside from what I've read from brief touch ups on it from books on Islamic history and the little I've read of Rumi's works. I currently consider myself predominantly Sunni in terms of my deen, if it helps.

Be wary, /islam/

In Germany, there are Liberal Muslim Associations calling for same-sex rights for Muslims.

People on /pol/ (halfchan /pol/) are formulating plans to destroy us using these Liberal muslim Ideas.

The thread

If you see any of their posts, post these pictures in turn to reveal their plans.

" And when those who disbelieved devised plans against you that they might confine you or slay you or drive you away; and they devised plans and Allah too had arranged a plan; and Allah is the best of planners."

Horny male looking for advice

Alright brothers, I need some advice.

I am 22 years old virgin male and as is the age, I am horny as hell. In the past I use to masturbate, but with the help of Allah, I have been able to overcome my addiction and don't masturbate as crazily as I did in the past and intend to drop the habit completely (I have practically made this intention already and don't have a "next date" for a session but addictions are unpredictable).

As a matter of fact, I HATE masturbating and I HATE porn with a passion. Not only because I know it is detrimental to person's mental and physical health, but the thought of it disgusts me now given how extreme it can get and how unnatural it is.

On the other hand, when I don't masturbate, I become horny as hell! Not only do I become horny as hell, but with the help of semen retention, I become practically an Alpha Male with high levels of confidence and end up eyeing girls left and right, making them smile just by checking them out, and flirting with a few. Alhamdoulillah though, I have not been blessed with game, and that has kept me from committing haram.

But the reason I have not been blessed with game is simply due to fact that I have always been a 'Nice Guy', and not that genuinely nice guy rather a manipulative one, expecting rewards for my good behaviour in return. Thankfully though, I have been killing off the nice guy in me, and being genuinely nice, and that has helped me tremendously in building great relationships, having self-respect and awesome confidence.

But now I am at a cross-roads again. So let's recap, I am 21 year old male that does not release his sexual desires via masturbation/porn because I hate both acts and they destroy who I truly am. Additionally, with the help of quitting porn and reading self-help books, I am building a great personality and starting to live for myself. I am at a all-time high religious these days, but because I want to truly live for myself (and for Allah, what I mean by that is, not being a good kid so I get people's praise as well), I want to get a girl. Either a wife or a girlfriend so I can release my desire in a more natural way.

What do? Any duaas specifically?

Religion and the West

What does /islam/ think about the description of Islam and Christianity here: https://extranewsfeed.com/youre-not-a-liberal-you-re-an-extremist-wearing-trendy-causes-fd3225e2d924

To make this brief without needing to read this article, it is a liberal who takes the mentions of arms in the Bible, Qur'an as literal calls to violence. What do you view as this?

Sufi Poetry Thread [NO DEBATE/REFUTATION]

Layla

Full near I came unto where dwelleth

Layla, when I heard her call.

That voice, would I might ever hear it!

She favored me, and drew me to her,

Took me in, into her precinct,

With discourse intimate addressed me.

She sat me by her, then came closer,

Raised the cloak that hid her from me,

Made me marvel to distraction,

Bewildered me with all her beauty.

She took me and amazed me,

And hid me in her inmost self,

Until I thought that she was I,

And my life she took as ransom.

She changed me and transfigured me,

And marked me with her special sign,

Pressed me to her, put me from her,

Named me as she is named.

Having slain and crumbled me,

She steeped the fragments in her blood.

Then, after my death, she raised me:

My star shines in her firmament.

Where is my life, and where my body,

Where my willful soul? From her

The truth of these shone out to me

Secrets that had been hidden from me.

Mine eyes have never seen but her:

To naught else can they testify.

All meanings in her are comprised.

Glory be to her Creator!

Thou that beauty wouldst describe,

Here is something of her brightness

Take it from me. It is my art.

Think it not idle vanity.

My Heart lied not when it divulged

The secret of my meeting her.

If nearness unto her effaceth,

I still subsist in her substance.

Question about Jesus

Christian dropping by with a friendly question.

I'm curious about a bit of Islamic doctrine concerning Jesus. I'm aware that Islam does not view Jesus as The Son of God, and I've read the Quran passages on the subject, as well as a few commentaries.

So while I can accept that the Quran says what it says, it's the seeming lack of justification. What I'm having trouble with is this:

- The Quran in and of itself seems to simply say that it is not true that God has a son.

- The commentaries I've seen simply write off the idea as absurd, or skirt over the issue.

Can anyone help explain the 'why not' in greater detail? I'd be happy to clarify the question if necessary.

Book recommendations

Hello /islam/.

I'm not a Muslim, but for a while I've been interested in learning more about your religion. I was wondering if you had any advice on books to read. The Qur'an is an obvious choice, but would you recommend I start with it, or read some basic theology or history first? Also, is there a preferable translation? I'm also especially interested in classics of Islamic literature and poetry.

peace

Is large scale shia sunni ecumenism possible?

How come there is so much infighting and violence between them?

I observe Buddhist sects working side by side, they have no animosity towards each other despite spiritual disagreements and not having the same holy Scriptures and saints…

Avatars of God

I've been thinking a bit about God and whether he can assume a human form and walk among us, like a programmer making a character for himself in his video game.

I think via omnipotence and omnipresence he could simultaneously be in the world and beyond the world. Kind of like how a player is both outside a video game and within it, obviously the analogy isn't perfect…but still.

What does Islamic theology say about this?

Islam Conception Test

>Since the terror attacks of 2001, a debate has persisted over the distinction between Islamists and moderate Muslims, a distinction popularized by the 43rd American president George W. Bush and the former American Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Though central, this distinction has always been an amorphous and under-researched one, leading some left-wing pundits to claim that radical Muslims are just a tiny minority, ruining the perception of Islam for hundreds of millions of peaceful Muslims, while leaving certain right-wing pundits free to claim that secular, moderate Muslims do not actually exist. This test aims to gauge your conception of Islam by confronting you with commonplace points of contention between Islamists and moderate Muslims.

Post not only your final result, but also list whether you answered "Strongly Disagree-Disagree-Neutral-Agree-Strongly Agree" for each of the 36 questions

Non-Muslim to be working in Muslim country

Hey, I'm going to be headed for work in a very specialized role in the future, and it's going to be in a country with a heavy Muslim population. I am told that we will have all the interpreters we need, and that Arabic study isn't necessary, but can be good for us if we want to really get into it. Now, before anyone asks, this is a humanitarian role, and I won't be anywhere near a gun, however, last cycle, there was a guy who got lost and ended up being lost without being able to talk. It turns out he could have been back within the hour if he knew the language. So what I am asking is, what is a good resource to learn Arabic. I have about 9 months before I leave, and I plan to use most of my time to study up for this when I am not working. I have previous experience learning language, so I think I can get it done. Any Arabic speakers here /

How do you determine the direction to Mecca?

Hey, /islam/, curious kuffar here. As far as I am aware, when praying you are supposed to orient yourselves towards Mecca. The question is, what does that even mean on a globe? Do you try to approximate a great circle intersecting your location and that of Mecca, or do you approximate using straight lines on a Mercator projection?

Do Muslims believe the same origins story as Christans and Jews?

I was wondering if Muslims believe that Adam and Eve were tempted to eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

The reason I ask is that in Christianity the lives of Jesus and Mary perfectly mirror those of Adam and Eve, particularly in terms of obedience to the Father, God. I know that Mohamed said that Christ was not crucified, which would break this parallel, in that Christ being crucified is the fruit being placed back on the tree (which is part of the reason why Christians eat the Eucharist, we are eating the Fruit of the new tree, the body and blood of Jesus Christ).

So then, if Muslims do not believe that the action which repaired the disobedience of Adam and Eve took place, I was wondering if they have a different understanding of the disobedience of Adam and Eve.

God Bless you.
