Personally, I'm perfectly fine with the idea of monsters being ridiculously tall; that makes sense because they're monsters. But regardless of whether or not you think the sprites are chibi or the doorframes were built by whoever, Frisk is a human child of about 10 years old, which fits fairly well with his height at 116cm (it's a bit short…maybe more like a 8-year-old, but he could just be short for his age). Decided to try this out, pic related. I normalized their heights to the base of their heels instead of their tiptoes like everyone else here. While proportions are a bit skewed in the overworld sprites due to conservation of detail, their relative total heights should still be unaffected. Using this, Asriel as an adult turns out really small. Toriel is at 218px, and Asriel at 167px; or if Toriel is 198cm, Asriel would be 152cm… which is smaller than average even for a human. I'm not quite sure I'm ready to believe Asriel would intentionally make himself a 5' manlet when he's trying to appear dangerous to Frisk… but I dunno.
