Pretty much this. Much as we'd like to pretend it wouldn't happen, Undertale is just as much of a flash-in-the-pan game as FNAF was. Everyone is starting to forget about it already, and it's not even been six months. There's nothing left to talk about. It's sad, but it's the reality of the situation. Undertale is like last year's best movie that wasn't part of a franchise and won't ever get a sequel. You watch it a few times, and then it disappears completely into the sands of time.

Unlike the autism of FnaF, we don't have any and have been blasted as a meme game. I've been told its unrealistic that Undertale got a megaton of hate from its metacritic score, reviews, and tumblr sucking it up a week after release when there are people like me who were waiting for two years.

Things like these create an environment - especially on an imageboard bred to hate things whenever tumblr is slightly involved or has a gay thing in it or its pixelshit - of hate.

But I disagree. The Undertale train is nowhere near slowing down. This board is just on the wrong place. Have you checked cuckchan lately? They have a single thread general at lightning speeds. We have a board, we should be better.

General threads are just nonstop shitposting. That's their defining flavor. Without shitposting (and the occasional dump of lewds to try to fight back against it in some way) threads just die out. It's like trying to hold a structured debate in a kindergarten class. All the kids are going to sit around doing nothing; but if you give them to option to "debate" by throwing toys around the room, insulting each other, and running around screaming, they'll all do that happily.

Oh sure, it'll be LIVELY, but it won't be a debate anymore.
