If you're complaining about this "genesis" shit or whatever, they should be in their thread.

I'll make you a deal. Give me a good reason on why /underground/ wasn't created out of a knee-jerk reaction problem that is now solved and I'll make /mtt/ redirect to /underground/, if you are that confident.

Genesisfag should have been permabanned like the useless cancer he is instead of being allowed even a single thread. In fact, if you ask me he should be no-read banned from all of 8chan for being a proven spammer (I just don't know if that's possible).

What was done, instead, is to take someone who shot up a school, and both let him stay at the school AND built him a gun range so he can keep shooting there. Maybe it was just an attempt to be accommodating, or tactful, or whatever, but in the end it just looks like weak moderation on principal. The fact that it took like two days for the mess to get cleaned up doesn't help matters.

I was around for the first Undertale general threads on /v/ and even before that. A while in I noticed the "genesis" song being posted at least once a thread. I assumed it was just a shitty meme spawning out of these threads like goatposting.

Goatposting is on-topic because there are actually goats in the game; and it's not even real goats, but game characters often pictured as goats. There IS no Genesis in the game. Posting about it is as relevant to Undertale as posting pictures of Lenin would be to a thread about Super Mario Bros.. Yeah, sure, one fucker noticed that the game bore some resemblance to Communism if you squint really hard, but that doesn't mean all of Communism is allowed to be posted/discussed on a thread about Mario. No sane person would allow that; it's not a "meme" if it's just one person doing it.

Now, I understand the spirit of the UTG on /v/ is completely different, and the entire board has a much more lax approach to spammers, but that's because it's fast-paced. It's assumed that it will get enough posts that any garbage would be ignored and pushed off the front page very quickly if nobody wants it. It's not like that, here. That's why I feel a more heavy-handed approach to moderating is better. Just my opinion.

Yeah, Bui did that on /furry/ several times before the captcha evidently became strong enough to keep him out. A spammer is a spammer, though; the only difference here is technical ability. Bui had a shit-ton of proxies and a botnet to assist him so he was much more effective.

It's academic at this point. These boards always seemed intended as a way to escape the chaos of the utg and talk about the game leisurely. Because of this, I get the impression that as soon as the utg dies (which I suspect will happen shortly if nothing new happens from the game) these boards all will, too. Everyone will move on, finally, from Undertale, or… I dunno, go to tumblr or something.

I'm not here to shill /underground/, just to offer a reason for the exodus based on my observations. I don't really care either way. I'm not the BO or a mod or anything. My only real stake in Undertale at this point is my silly Chara fanfiction that almost nobody reads wherever I post it because 95% of people already have moved on from the game.
