It had an insulated soyboy feel where nothing that happens really matters because the day will magically be saved, oh and nobody in the galaxy even notices that this fighting is going on.

I know and sometimes you have to shake things up, Luke was still a good person and Hamil played him very well in the film. He had conflict and it gave his character some more meat compared to just having him along like han solo and doing nothing important or having done nothing relevant to the story

They keep trying to harp on about Kylo Ren being a bootleg wannabe Vader. Every part of the movie feels like a bootleg wannabe. You have Leia almost dying, and it still feels like an insurance ad.
