There isn't a connection between metal and Germanic paganism, but metal is a pretty cool and vigorous genre of music which seems to enjoy a strong scene in northwestern Europe, so it just so happens that a fairly high proportion of metal bands enjoy Asatru-related themes (either because they themselves are Asatruars/Odalists etc or because they simply enjoy the stories and themes).
I think Wardruna is about as /asatru/ as it gets but they've been mentioned. Faun have also been brought up - cool music and definitely /asatru/-approved but their stuff is, if I remember right, mostly Gallic and Roman themed (though if this board is not specifically for Germanic paganism but for all European folk ways, then there's nothing wrong with that!).
Plenty of metal has been posted but I haven't seen any Heidevolk. It may be Yule time now, but perhaps this song can get us excited for spring!

Recently discovered this band they are from Kentucky and mix bluegrass with metal in their later albums. This album has a lot of pagan elements.
