OP here

DAoC is pretty much the most norse-themed MMO i've come across so far. Then there's also GW2 where you can play as a member of the viking faction, but DAoC seems to be pretty much exclusively dedicated to norse culture and lore, at least on the server/realm listed below. Too bad they won't drop the monthly WoW-style fee, or else i'd give it a try for sure.

>Midgard is one of Dark Age of Camelot's three playable realms. The realm of Midgard is based around Nordic folklore and legends, and is covered with snowy mountains, numerous lakes, and pine tree forests. A hammer is the symbol of Midgard, as is the color blue. >Jordheim is Midgard's mighty capitol city.

If we're talking about norse themed games, you should check out the game Munin. It has a strong basis in the mythology, and it goes on sale a lot. It's a puzzle game with a good flow.

Celtic Kings - Rage of war.

RTS game made in 2002 by haemimont games who now make the tropico series.

It's a great rts/resource management game where you can have hundreds of soldiers playing as either vikings(gauls) or romans.

It's very polished and one of my favourite games from my childhood.

Not sure if asatrupilled or not.

You sail a viking-like boat across the ocean and courage in the face of great adversity is a reoccurring theme.

Then again it was made in Japan.

And yet again, on the other hand the Japanese have retained their ancestral religion which I can respect.

The Zelda series is an allegory for the struggle of Aryan European paganfolk(Represented by Link, Zelda, and friends) against the influence of semitic desert cults like Christianity and Islam(Represented by Ganon and his minions like Zant, Vaati, Aganihm, etc.)

Notice how in OoT, TP, and Hyrule Warriors, how he overtakes Hyrule and reshapes it in his image. Turning a once brave people into submissive cowards.

Yeah, I'm glad how a culture that kept their ancestral religion can appreciate ours thoroughly. Possibly even better than we do today.

I don't want to sound like a weeaboo, but the samurai truly is our greatest ally.

 No.1394

>>1393
Nothing weeaboo with appreciating the Japanese. I think weeaboos are really a result of how alienated white people are from their own culture, so they latch onto the closest culture to our own and obsess over it. Notice that most weeaboos have little understanding of Western culture and/or hate it.

A good Aryan respects the cultures of other peoples worth our respect while upholding our own in their hearts.

>Are the chose people of the gods and meant by divine right to rule the other races
>Have higher mental and psychic abilities
>Are attacked by the Gerudo, a people from the desert ruled by matriarchy who consider gender roles to be blasphemy and want to destroy the evil social constructs put in place by the Hylians
>Theyre all thief's who survive in the harsh desert by outjewing each others
>When the Hylians are all but spent and their people are in their lowest populations, a hero will rise to fight the Gerudo and save his people

Have the Japs seen the final battle to come?

 No.1395

Notice how we don't whine about "cultural appropriation"

I mean do the Japs get everything right when they make games based on our culture? Are they %100 accurate? No, of course not, but I don't expect them to. Their interpretations are, more often than not, respectful and that they stay true to the core values.

Games like Zelda do well when promoting the values to courage, family, friendship, and perseverance, and I love them for it.

First playthrough I chose Stormcloak but I'm not sure if it's the best choice considering the elves want the revolution to happen so they can divide and conquer.
Sure, Skyrim for the nords and all that but whats the point if the elves are going to use it to their advantage. Maybe the threat of the elves should be dealt with first then the nords try and get their independence.

I'm considering starting another playthrough but I'm going to have to mod the fuck out of it so it's playable.

Dude, MMO's are a waste of time. The whole game you spend grinding, with the promise of an endgame that is always just more grinding, the fun part never kicks in and even worse they usually make you pay for that shit regularly. I like the concept of a Massive Multiplayer game but they are all wow clones and grindfests not worth anyones time. The day something worth playing comes out that is massive and multiplayer it wont be called an MMO.

The MMO the most that let me down with that was SWTOR. It had a great story and then with your individual story arc all that is left to do is grind. It is like "Hurry I got all my story stuff and am top level now let see what other cool shit this game has to offer". Nothing but endless grinding.

Age of Conan was a great MMO and I think is the most Norsepilled of the MMOs but it suffers from the same bullshit. But the fighting mechanic is pretty good so is the story. I just wish it were not dying as it is though. Guild cities were the best part about it IMO.

I just watched 13th Warrior then, actually. Coincidental.

Anyway like someone said, the Japs usually do a good job of doing respectful representations. Like Dark Souls did.

Despite its not exactly topical, its interesting to note people who worshiped multiple Gods in antiquity were more willing to believe in the existence of other peoples Gods, even if in their mind they were depowered and not worth worshiping. The "only our god exists" mentality was more of an Abrahamic thing.

I just meant some form of monster battling, kids love that shit. Could be anything including Ni-No-Kuni or Yo-Kai watch.

As far as legendaries go, it's only the main three, meaning Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zyguard. I found that Skiddo/Gogoat, Honedge, and Klefki also have some origins based in Norse legend or tradition, but it seems mostly speculative.

 No.10018

That anon here, posting from my phone.

Klefki's origin is less Norse specifically and more of a general Pagan thing. According to Bulbapedia, Kelfki may be based off the pagan tradition of blaming the loss of small things like keys or shoes on the mischief of faries and similar creatures. I've gotten into the bad habit of occasionally associating general pagan shit with Asatru and Norse tradition by default. Pardon my fuck-up.
