The Lord our God is one

Deuteronomy 6:4 says "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is One." It doesn't say he is three in one it says he is one; Jesus says in Mark 12:29 "This is the most important: 'Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One." Jesus doesn't say he is God he says God is one and he never says he is a part of it.

History of 8chan's Christian boards

Help me connect the dots. Long-time posters please add what you know.

This is almost entirely pieced together from snapshots on web.archive.org

>2013

8chan created by hotwheels in October

>2014:

/christian/ created in September

Alex is the owner. He's a Southern Baptist.

Views on moderation: "I am personally a Baptist, and will defend my views as a poster, but dialogue and points made from other perspectives won't be deleted."

The board reaches 6,000 posts by the end of the year.

>2015

The 8chan site has some outages and breaks in November as development progresses.

/christian/ IRC channel couples the board

Alex remains BO

Board hits 238,000 posts by the end of the year.

/christianity/ created in February

BO cites perception of censorship on /christian/ as the cause.

"I noticed /christian/ had a lot of censorship so I'm starting a new board. I promise not to delete anything simply because I disagree."

Dead board. 154 posts by the end of the year.

/christ/ is created in April. It had some activity prior in 2014, but was somehow deleted or lost and the new first post is 4/19/15.

Rules: "This board is for Christians of all denominations; that being said, people of other religions, agnostics, and atheists, are very welcome to post, ask questions, and debate with us if they so desire. Spam will be deleted. This board is also SFW."

Board log is made available and stickied at top.

The board reaches 8,800 posts by the end of the year.

>2016

/chrisitan/ swaps hands in June. New BO "Peter" is a Catholic who makes a goal of stopping a spam and CP problem the board was facing.

New set of rules at the end of June. Ban policy: 1 day for rule violation, permaban for repeat offenders.

Board log requested, unclear if it is provided.

Unnamed catholic becomes BO in July.

Ezekiel becomes BO in August. Previously the owner of a dead 16chan christian board.

Tutor is a volunteer.

Baptist vs Catholic funposting epidemic begins.

Discord active

366,000 posts by the end of the year

/christ/ changes BO in August to "nazarenefag"

13,00 posts by the end of the year

/christianity/ irrelevant

>2017

/christian/ volunteer roster grows, almost exclusively catholic with one baptist and one presbyterian by July.

Perception of anti Protestant (especially Baptist) bias in moderation present

Tutor (Catholic) becomes BO in September.

Ban policy: "Post that break the rules will be met with temporary bans in accordance with the severity of the post, up to 5 days. Permanent bans will be given out for posting pornography, explicit material, after being given multiple temporary bans, and raids or obvious trolling from other boards."

Log is private. Posts are being deleted from threads.

8ch.net/christian/archive activates in July to preserve threads marked for archival

Rolling politics thread set up to remove political discussion from other threads

board reaches 580,000 posts by the end of the year

/christ/ hits 15,000 posts

/christianity/ still irrelevant

>2018

Tutor remains BO of /christian/

381 Council of Constantinople version of Nicene creed changed to the definition of a Christian

5 day limit for ban removed from ruleset

Catholic bias in moderation becomes inarguable

Flags disabled

750,000 posts by the end of the year

/christ/ has become notorious for gnostic posters

/christianity/ revived

>2019 (present)

/christian/ is plagued with heavy handed mods who issue flippant permabans

the issue may be exacerbated because of the sharp rise in popularity of VPNs

board enjoys top 10 traffic among all 8chan boards

owner and volunteers see the discord as a preferred tool to congratulate themselves on how catholic they are, board is ancillary

log is sealed tightly

/christ/ is a dead board on life support

the only posts are ctrl+c ctrl+v "saint of the day" threads, and posts complaining about the "saint of the day" threads

/christianity/ is a moderately slow board, 2600 posts in a few months putting it top 40 at this time

no censorship

public log

protestant bent as it serves as a sanctuary from catholic /christian/, but not to the level of a "hugbox" or "echo chamber"

Trinity thread

There are posters here who have been denying the Trinity in a couple threads, so let's consolidate the discussion to a dedicated thread.

Question: Is God triune?

Basis for argument: What does the Bible teach, and what is philosophically consistent?

Definition of the Trinity, according to classical Christian trinitarians:

<God is three persons

<Each person is divine

<There is one God

Most common non-trinitarian positions:

>God the Father is the only God

>The Father and Jesus are divine, but the spirit is not or is not a person

>The spirit does not exist

>There is no God (atheism, excluded from our debate itt)

If you reject trinitarianism, please justify yourself and be ready for scrutiny.

Christian reading list

In classic imageboard culture, we should make a recommended book list. There's one or two floating around, but it's really just a bunch of titles with no structure.

I think it should be a work of systematic theology, persuading the reader to a position.

This is the best structured such infographic I've found, it should be a model.

Where did you start reading in systematic theology?

Did you get a hermeneutics book first?

Did you read a polemic for the conservative Christian position?

Would a chart have to be evangelical Protestant only and a different one Catholic only, or is there enough overlap in sys theology?

The exorcism of Annelise Michael.

I've read the transcript to see whether the "demons" had any knowledge that was either publicly unknown or unusual for a girl her age, but no, she or "they" even got Hitler's suicide wrong - claiming he died by fire, while all eyewitnesses unanimously agree that he took cyanide and then shot himself, and that his body was only burned afterwards. So clearly a girl who got her history facts mixed up, and not some entity from hell, or even the "demon Hitler" himself.

The purpose of this board is to discuss Christian topics

It was started because of dissatisfaction with censorship by mods on /christian/, and that's still an issue almost 4 years later

>>2

We had a first raid today, (probably just one cross /b/ & /christian/ poster), that challenges the rule of "no censorship". Obviously spam and pornography are counter to the board purpose, but does banning and deleting provide an avenue for bias in moderation? I've concluded that it could, and in the interest of total transparency the mod practices will be as follows:

>all bans have been lifted

>anti-spam settings have been enabled (captcha to start thread, new thread limit/hour, robot9000 script)

>lewd and pornographic images will be deleted, but the post will remain

>spam threads will be locked, but not deleted so anyone can judge for themselves whether or not the post really was spam

Amazon just banned Dr. Joseph Nicolosi's books

The book burnings continue. If you're not familiar, Dr. Nicolosi was the leading void for scientifically-proven reparative therapy for LGBT individuals for several decades.

Amazon Just Banned My Dad’s Therapy Books, Caving to LGBT Activists

by Joseph Nicolosi Jr.

>On Amazon, you can buy almost any book written throughout human history—from the Bible to Adolf Hitler’s “Mein Kampf,” or even a book glorifying pedophilia.

>As of last week, however, you cannot get any of Dr. Joseph Nicolosi Sr.’s books about leaving homosexuality—because Amazon just banned them all.

>From 1981 until his death in 2017, my father was the driving force behind reparative therapy. He invented, refined, and used this innovative counseling method to help thousands of men overcome the effects of sexual abuse and other deep-seated childhood traumas.

>These men told my father that his scientifically sound practices helped re-orient their sexuality away from obsessions with pornography, and helped them reduce their unwanted same-sex attractions.

>The books Amazon banned are the continuation of my father’s legacy and of the changes that can take place through his methods. The books have hundreds of endorsements, from typical readers to past presidents of the American Psychological Association.

>In one comment, which Amazon has now “banned,” a man said the book “Reparative Therapy of Male Homosexuality” saved his marriage.

>Luckily for that man, he was able to find marital help before Amazon became the PC police. Today, he and many other families will now find fewer online resources than ever—not because science dictates their removal, but because LGBT ideology has shouted down sound science.

>While Amazon is banning books—and restricting choice among those with unwanted same-sex attractions—some state governments are banning my father’s therapeutic practices.

>But it’s clear that no government official who is voting to restrict client choice actually knows what reparative therapy entails. And with Amazon banning his books, radical LGBT activists hope to prevent even more lawmakers from ever finding out the truth.

<Contrary to what these activists and their allies at Amazon claim, my father never advocated so-called conversion therapy.

>Conversion therapy is broad, ill-defined, has no ethics code, no governing body, and is typically practiced by unlicensed individuals. My father had nothing to do with these or any similar practices, and as a therapist myself, I wholeheartedly condemn such a concept.

>What my father did do was use his psychological training and his Judeo-Christian worldview to help men overcome traumas that they—and he—believed were leading them into a life that did not reflect the men they were truly designed by their creator to be.

>He counseled families who were struggling with accepting their children, and he always told them, “Love your child, whatever the outcome of therapy may be.”

>This week’s book ban by Amazon and radical LGBT activists reveals the blatant hypocrisy of today’s leaders of the LGBT movement: They celebrate exploration of every kind of sexuality they can imagine, unless that exploration happens to lead an individual toward a traditional, heterosexual lifestyle. That sort of exploration, of course, must be banned.

>My hope is that there will be a large enough outcry from consumers that Amazon will rethink its decision. If it doesn’t, my dad’s books won’t be the last to get blacklisted.

Flag Debate

It seems there's been a debate around here about whether or not we should have an SDA flag on the board. This is a thread for discussing that question.

Criteria for adding a flag: (see >>7204)

>Requested by poster

>Flag represents a real (IRL) denomination with current member churches

>Only Christian denominations

The reason for objecting to an SDA flag is that the SDA's should not be considered Christian.

We are defining Christian broadly and in the most basic, historic way: affirming the doctrine of the trinity.

It is alleged that Seventh Day Adventists are not trinitarian, despite professing to be.

Is that true? If it can be proven, the flag will be removed.

Can the SDA anon give some insight?

Ahem

Just a reminder…

The Roman church isn't catholic.

The eastern church isn't orthodox.

The one, holy, Catholic and apostolic church is the church invisible, which is comprised of Christians everywhere in the world who profess the gospel message famously an eloquently declared in the reformation as Sola Fide. This is the gospel according to Luther, Augustine, Paul, and Abraham. Today orthodox Christianity is culturally known in the west as "evangelical protestantism".

<Galatians 1:8 NASB — But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!

Why Theism

Theism: belief in the existence of God.

Here is how to become a theist via philosophy through logical necessity:

>1

Recognize that if ever there was nothing, nothing can spontaneously come into being. ex nihilo nihil fit; nothing comes from nothing.

>2

Recognize that something exists. If you're not satisfied with looking out your window and affirming that the world is really there, try thinking. If you have capacity to think, you exist. Cogito, ergo sum; I think, therefore I am.

>3

Recognize the law of causality. Every material effect must have an adequate antecedent or simultaneous cause. So, everything that exists either exists in and of itself, or is produced by something else.

Given these, the only answer that satisfies all three is the existence of a first uncaused cause. That cause is God.

If you weren't before, you are now a theist.

Fleeting Depiction of Lesbian Mothers in ‘Toy Story 4’ Characterized as Being ‘Subtle to Desensitize

And that's obviously the case. If the Walt Disney company is openly affirming the sexual revolution, and those revolutionaries are praising an action by the company, we should presume that it was intended.

http://archive.is/VEzZN

>The quiet and fleeting depiction of lesbian mothers in an opening scene of “Toy Story 4” is being praised by homosexual advocates as a “small moment of normalization.” However, the cursory inclusion has also raised concern among some family groups who opine that it is a “subtle [way] to desensitize children” to homosexuality.

>According to reports, in the beginning of the animated film, as Woody’s new owner, Bonnie, attends her first day of kindergarten, in the background — among the other children arriving for class — is a boy who is dropped off by two women. The women, who appear to be the child’s “mothers,” also embrace the boy as they return later at the end of the school day.

>“[I]t’s certainly not the major representation that queer people have been waiting for, but it’s still important. This is one of the biggest movies of the year, after all, and will be seen by millions of all ages around the world,” opined the UK Gay Times.

>“Here was a major family-friendly film, one of the biggest Disney Pixar releases, and they included a lesbian couple with their son. It’s a small moment of normalization, even if it’s minor,” The Mary Sue also remarked.

"Normalization" is the same as desetization. Definitively, only the abnormal needs normalizing.

Was Vatican II really behind everything?

I am sympathetic to the Trad Cath critique of the modern Catholic Church, but it seems to me like, far from what they allege, the so-called Catholic Church had fallen into innovation and heresy long before Vatican II. The only thing these people seem to care about is their precious Latin Mass, which is dubious in itself, and they also tack on criticisms of certain innovations which every Christian obviously despises, such as how John Paul II and Francis have pandered to infidels and sodomites. Yet they conveniently ignore how, even before Vatican II, the Church had long been gradually changing its teachings and softening its positions on things like slavery, usury, crusade, Muslims, Jews, etc. The Catholic Church has always softened its views on such thing in accordance with how society in general has changed its views on them. There has hardly ever been any real respect for Tradition at all.

Consuming blood?

I don't understand. Why is it so many Christians do not abstain from the blood of animals? Are they afraid it's Judaizing? I'll admit I sort of was but after looking into it more I have come to a more precise understanding.

The commandment was given before the Law, before the people of Israel or the Hebrews were even a thing. God told Noah,

>Every moving thing that is alive shall be food for you; I give all to you, as I gave the green plant. Only you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood." - Genesis 9:3-4

The New Testament itself commands it,

>"Therefore it is my judgment that we do not trouble those who are turning to God from among the Gentiles, but that we write to them that they abstain from things contaminated by idols and from fornication and from what is strangled and from blood." - Acts 15:19-20

Blood is the life. It is why Jesus says,

>"So Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves." - John 6:53

We who are in the body of Christ must share in his life for eternal salvation, for in our baptisms were are crucified with him, and we are raised with him to eternal life (Romans 6:3-4). We share in a communion when consuming the holy Eucharist, being a part of the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-13).

On the sacrificial animal the Israelite would lay his sin upon it, and it is through its life that purification would be possible (Leviticus 17:11). But Christ came and put on our humanity, not to simply stand in place of us, for we know that the blood of lambs and bulls does not actually forgive sin (Hebrews 10:4). Christ perfects our humanity, and this culminates on the cross where our salvation is, and in his resurrection whereby we too might be raised. Christ is the second Adam (1 Corinthians 15:22), and his life and death restore us to Eden, so by participating in his life and death in baptism and the literal eating and drinking of his blood, we gain eternal life.

Consuming the blood of another being is attempting to participate in the life of that being, life of which there is no merit or salvation. Especially in the case of a sacrificial animal it would put our sins right back on us by participating in a life offered for sin, pouring out the blood the Lord to atone.

Roman Catholics have set aside the Apostolic decree, but thankfully everyone on here knows their sect is wrong. I'm glad I've matured and I think I'm going to convert to Orthodoxy soon. But anyway, I'm just saying that the Biblical text both Old and New prohibit the consumption of blood. What do you guys think? I'm open to other suggestions.

I didn't realize how deluded some people are. Believing any and all religions are okay, that we are all gods, we can choose to re-incarnate and begin a new life on earth, over and over again. The poor man was having conversations with the devil and millions of people read his books.

"What's the big deal? These books teach being good and have peace." So what? These are important things, yes, but you're sort of forgetting about justice. About right and wrong (He says there is no right and wrong, it's just whatever works for you). Judgment will not go well for these people. Please pray that anyone who reads this man's books will see that it is from the pit of hell!

The Unsaved

Reminder that the unsaved are not merely waiting for your astounding apologetic argument to persuade them, they're actively rebelling against the truth of God.

If you share the gospel with a man and he does not beleive, you are not failing to reach an impartial observer; he had already chosen to reject God and is choosing again to continue rejecting God. He is without excuse.

In the inverse, this means that you don't need to train until you're an expert apologist before sharing the gospel. The reality of God is already an observable fact to everyone you encounter.

God bless

How to approach evangelizing a Jordan Peterson follower?

A nonbeliever friend of mine is lost and in need of Christ. He has recently shown receptivity and curiosity for the Christian message. I continue to pray for God to draw him to Himself.

This friend has previously never had much inclination to philosophical thinking and the like, until recently. He has spoken favorably about Jordan Peterson and owns a copy of his book "12 Rules for Life". I have never seen him reading anything before so this may be a change in his priorities. I think he is searching for meaning.

I don't have much respect for self-help books nor Peterson's dishonest use of the Christian ethos in his efforts to reform his cult following of young, wayward men. I have mentioned the latter once to my friend but I did not want to belittle what could be his first real search for true meaning in life, so I said no more.

How do you all think I should approach my friend to share the Gospel?

Would it look any differently than if I wanted to talk to any atheist?

More info: A stumbling block for my friend is how he sees the morals of the Bible. He is unconvinced, for example, that a heterosexual marriage is at all more morally good than a homosexual union since a homosexual union is between consenting adults and "doesn't hurt anyone". As far as I can tell, his view of morality is that people just do what works for them and that is what's good.

Following my gut I intend to share first and foremost my love of Christ and how mind-blowing he is as seen in the Bible.

This thread may not be necessary since my friend hasn't seen fit to bring up Peterson again, but I thought it could provoke some good discussion. Thoughts?

Catholic US Presidential Candidate 2020

Pete Buttigieg, is he the most Catholic candidate ever?

>His father, who was from Hamrun, Malta, studied to be a Jesuit priest before emigrating to the United States and embarking on a secular career as a professor of literature at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend.[13][14] The surname Buttigieg is of Maltese origin.[15] His mother was a professor at Notre Dame for 29 years.[16]

>The University of Notre Dame du Lac (or simply Notre Dame /ˌnoʊtərˈdeɪm/ NOH-tər-DAYM or ND) is a private Catholic research university in Notre Dame, Indiana.[7]

>Buttigieg is Christian,[76][77][78] and has said his faith has had a strong influence in his life.[79][49] His parents baptized him in a Catholic church as an infant and he attended Catholic schools.[80]

And he's a faggot of course:

>In a June 2015 piece in the South Bend Tribune, Buttigieg announced that he is gay.[93] He also is the first openly gay presidential candidate for the Democratic Party and the second overall, after Fred Karger, a Republican.[94]

>In December 2017 Buttigieg announced his engagement to Chasten Glezman, who has been a junior high school teacher for eight years; they had been dating since August 2015 after meeting on the dating app Hinge.[95][96][97] They were married on June 16, 2018, in a private ceremony at the Cathedral of St. James.[98][77] As of April 2019 Chasten also uses the surname Buttigieg.[99]

Enemy to the world

I'm a criminal defence lawyer and I just sat through an infuriating sentencing hearing. The judge screamed and yelled and played silly games and acted like a demoniac all trial. Finally he convicted someone who was likely innocent and sentenced him to a long jail term.

When a judge is merciful to some one accused of a crime, it makes the papers and everyone is outraged. But no one cares when a judge shows no mercy, convicts people who are likely innocent based on flimsy grounds and gives outrageously disproportionate sentence.

Given a choice between judgement and mercy, I want to be on the side of mercy every time. And if this heartless world is against me, that's all the more evidence I'm right. Christians believe that one day God will rain fire on this whole wicked world. As far as I'm concerned that day can't come soon enough. Doing this job has thought me the meaning of "he who is a friend to this world is an enemy of God."

What's it like being a criminal defence lawyer? For me, I've started cheering on natural disasters and I now think hell i a splendid idea. I hope many judges and politicians will spend an eternity there.

Pointless thread.

I'm an atheist living in the West. Christianity is on the decline in my country, and I don't think people here fully appreciate what it is that we're losing. It's not like people are becoming more intelligent and enlightened (*tips*), instead they're increasingly just fucking around with crystals and shit. Meanwhile our national identity has become weakened with the loss of a shared set of values and beliefs. On the personal level it's even worse because church attendance has historically been an important source of community in people's lives. I guess what I'm trying to say is that a religion has benefits. And if we must have a religion I'd rather it was the one of Christ. He's undeniably good, almost impossibly so. If there was a God I would believe Christ was his son.

What's the deal with the Jesuits?

So I hear the term Jesuits tossed about in conspiracy theories or rants quite a bit, but don't really know a lot about them. From light research, I know that they're a Catholic religious order that engaged in evangelism, school founding, and took part in some black ops style stuff against the Protestants as part of the Counter-Reformation. But I've even heard Catholics themselves speak of the Jesuits with disdain and distrust. The overall vibe I get, whenever they're talked about, is of some sort of shady secret Illuminati-esque organization. What's their deal?

I then asked what his opinion would be on them if the pope said tomorrow that they were fine. He said he'd accept them. I also asked him the same about abortion and homosexuality. He said he wouldn't agree. I understand that there is a big schism in the church about Vatican 2. If a Vatican 3 happened that said gay is ok and abortion is a right, would the catholic church still be the one true faith? Are you just supposed to believe whatever the church says and assume it knows better?

"Judeo-Christian"

I really can't stand this term. It's implying that Jews worship the same God as Christians. God sent His only Son to become the Messiah, the promised king of the world.

If they deny this God, they become worshipers of the Law, of Moses. Their values are based on their Talmud, their rabbinic rules, not the grace, love, mercy, and full self-sacrifice that was taught by the true fulfillment of the law.

Hello, I'm an orthodox atheist, so I consider the community itself to be the higher power. In my world, the good old fashioned tribal council is about as good as a justice system can get. (Mob rule.)

I'm supposed to be lutheran by birth, but the naïvety has by and large worn off, and I have just about no trust left in my fellow man.

I'm tired of entitled welfare mommas who are unwilling to form commitments, and I'm considering expanding my search parameters.

I consider mormons and quakers to be likely candidates for me to search out a quality woman.

As long as the nonsense is completely foreign, or kept to a minimum, I'm able to endure religious people.

This may mean that frankly, I may be more open to islam, because the muslims are a bit more tolerant of cannabis.

That being said. Do you have any suggestions for sects, cults, or other major schisms that may be worthwhile?

To be clear, I am asking for examples of active communities who have a functioning (and malleable) moral code.

Dispensationalism vs. Covenant Theology

I'm sure a lot of you here believe in dispensationalist theology, and I'd like to talk about it for the sake of becoming more informed. It's been a concern for me as of late, since I got into a discussion with a friend and found out that he believes Jews are granted salvation, somehow, through Christ, without believing in Christ.

So here are my first objections:

1) To claim that God intended for Christ to be messiah only to the Jews, yet that they rejected him, upsetting God's plan, completely denies God's supreme sovereignty.

2) The belief that the ceremonial law, including the sacrificial system, will be reinstated during Christ's reign denies the sufficiency of Christ's sacrifice.

3) If Jews do not accept the New Covenant, they are still bound to the Mosaic Covenant, thus dooming them to hell.

4) This interpretive scheme is less than 200 years old.

5) Scofield himself was a heathen, and the publishing of the Scofield Bible was likely funded by zionists. ( https://www.wrmea.org/015-october/the-scofield-bible-the-book-that-made-zionists-of-americas-evangelical-christians.html http://pilgrim-platform.org/2010/c-i-scofield/ )

Atheism doesn't work logically...

The fact that the moon is 400 times smaller than the sun and the sun is 400 times farther away from the moon than from the earth so that a perfect solar eclipse can happen should prove God to a lot of atheists. Otherwise it would be an astronomical coincidence that is almost on the scale of impossible. Sure it could happen, but the fact that it happens to us counted with the fact that as far as we know we are the only planet in the 93 billion light year wide universe harboring life should pretty much prove God right there. So I just don't get atheists. I really don't. Do you understand their logic?

also religion is obsolete, the function religion had was to both answer the question the naturally curious humans had and also to put laws on society so it doesn't fucking collapse, by using the fear of god as leverage.

Now the science can answer any question about our world and ourselves, about how it works. and when it comes to maintaining the structure of society we have the laws and different organisms to enforce it.

Tridentine Creed

I, with a firm faith believe and profess each and everything which is contained in the Creed which the Holy Roman Church maketh use of. To wit:

The Apostolic and Ecclesiastical traditions and all other observances and constitutions of that same Church I firmly admit to and embrace.

I also accept the Holy Scripture according to that sense which holy mother the Church hath held, and doth hold, and to whom it belongeth to judge the true sense and interpretations of the Scriptures. Neither will I ever take and interpret them otherwise than according to the unanimous consent of the Fathers.

I also profess that there are truly and properly Seven Sacraments of the New Law, instituted by Jesus Christ our Lord, and necessary for the salvation of mankind, though not all are necessary for everyone; to wit, Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Penance, Extreme Unction, Holy Orders, and Matrimony; and that they confer grace; and that of these, Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Orders cannot be repeated without sacrilege. I also receive and admit the accepted and approved ceremonies of the Catholic Church in the solemn administration of the aforesaid sacraments.

I embrace and accept each and everything which has been defined and declared in the holy Council of Trent concerning original sin and justification.

I profess, likewise, that in the Mass there is offered to God a true, proper, and propitiatory sacrifice for the living and the dead; and that in the most holy sacrament of the Eucharist there is truly, really, and substantially, the Body and Blood, together with the soul and divinity, of our Lord Jesus Christ; and that a conversion takes place of the whole substance of the bread into the Body, and of the whole substance of the wine into the Blood, which conversion the Catholic Church calls Transubstantiation. I also confess that under either species alone Christ is received whole and entire, and a true sacrament.

I steadfastly hold that there is a Purgatory, and that the souls therein detained are helped by the suffrages of the faithful. Likewise, that the saints, reigning together with Christ, are to be honored and invoked, and that they offer prayers to God for us, and that their relics are to be venerated. I most firmly assert that the images of Christ, of the Mother of God, ever virgin, and also of other Saints, ought to be kept and retained, and that due honor and veneration is to be given them.

I also affirm that the power of indulgences was left by Christ in the Church, and that the use of them is most wholesome to Christian people.

I acknowledge the Holy Catholic Apostolic Roman Church as the mother and teacher of all churches; and I promise true obedience to the Bishop of Rome, successor to St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles, and Vicar of Jesus Christ.

I likewise undoubtedly receive and profess all other things delivered, defined, and declared by the sacred Canons, and general Councils, and particularly by the holy Council of Trent, and by the ecumenical Council of the Vatican, particularly concerning the primacy of the Roman Pontiff and his infallible teaching. I condemn, reject, and anathematize all things contrary thereto, and all heresies which the Church hath condemned, rejected, and anathematized.

This true Catholic faith, outside of which no one can be saved, which I now freely profess and to which I truly adhere, I do so profess and swear to maintain inviolate and with firm constancy with the help of God until the last breath of life. And I shall strive, as far as possible, that this same faith shall be held, taught, and professed by all those over whom I have charge. I N. do so pledge, promise, and swear, so help me God and these Holy Gospels of God.

Attending church as a lone sheep

What options of going to church does a Christian have if all the churches in their geographical vicinity do not align with their beliefs?

>(say within a radius of 300 miles)

and the only people who they may consider brethren are scattered in little pockets around the world,

Should they put aside attending any of the other denominational services,,, should they simply attend the nearest church even though they flat out don't agree with them,,, or is there another option

History of Catholic censorship

Reminder that the RCC forbade (not only recommended against) the reading of thousands of books without permission from mommy church. This went on until the 20th century.

Banned books included:

>Luther and Calvin, for daring to believe what the Bible says about salvation

>Thomas Hobbes, Blaise Pascal, Rene Descartes and other philosophers, for thinking for themselves

>John Stuart Mill, for believing in political liberty

>Victor Hugo, because ?????

They even banned the entirely Roman Catholic, Benedictine monk Staupitz from history, who denounced the Reformation, because he was teacher to Luther.

This isn't something you do without cognitive dissonance. Truth doesn't fear investigation.

US Supreme Court set to decide whether a cross is promotion of religion

>The Supreme Court is diving into a debate about the place of religious symbols in public life in a case about a cross-shaped war memorial in Maryland.

>The case the high court is hearing Wednesday involves a 40-foot-tall, concrete cross on a large, grassy highway median in Maryland, just outside Washington. The nearly 100-year-old cross was built as a memorial to area residents who died in World War I.

>The District of Columbia-based American Humanist Association say the cross should be moved to private property or modified into a nonreligious monument such as a slab or obelisk. The group lost the first round in court, but in 2017 an appeals court ruled the cross unconstitutional.

>Defending the cross at the high court are The American Legion, which raised money for the cross and completed it in 1925, and Maryland officials, who took over maintenance of the cross nearly 60 years ago to preserve it and address traffic safety concerns. Maryland officials argue that the cross doesn’t violate the Constitution because it has a secular purpose and meaning.

https://archive.fo/MpT2h

The obvious answer is that the cross represents Christianity, but this is no issue with the establishment clause of the First Amendment

<Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof

This is set up to be a win for conservatives that sets precedent for more ambiguous cases

888 kills 666

I believe the end of the world is approaching. There will be a great war in the middle east. The three monotheisms will battle for control of the holy city. There will be death and destruction. Satan will rule for a time, and again another time, and a time and a half through the antichrist. Syria, Lebanon, Iran, Israel, America, Russia, China, will war in the Levant and Mesopotamia. On the banks of the Nile, on the streams of the Tigris and Euphrates. In Jerusalem and Meggido. What is this confusion?

The church’s ongoing practice of baptism—like another essential practice, the Lord’s Supper—is simultaneously a repetition of and a post-Pentecost transformation of Jesus’s own act. Jesus was baptized as a sign of his dedication (wholehearted obedience), and so too we follow his example. At the same time, his own baptism is transformed in our experience because he is more than just a model. We don’t simply get baptized because he did. We’re baptized into him, and he baptizes us with the Holy Spirit.

http://equip.sbts.edu/article/why-was-jesus-baptized/

Why do you baptists say baptism is a symbol and done after one is Saved, yet say things like this? Why do you confuse and add things that imply baptism is something more?

There's been some talk here about a christian forum online that's not a part of 8chan. I think this is a good idea. I have some basic programming ability and wanted to ask, what do you think a good Christian forum would look like.

I have the following ideas:

1) It would not be a image-board

I think 4chan is popular due to legacy reasons and 8chan and the other chans are just spin offs of 4chan. I think mass appeal requires a non-chan board

2)It would have to be mobile first.

Again today we live in a mobile first world - It would have to have an app and an online version

One question that really gets to me is what's the best UI for such a discussion forum? Chan replies are too hard for normies and not every Christian is tech savvy. Reddit format without upvotes or downvotes might work. Maybe reddit type formatting with chan style bump rule. Or maybe some way to organize main discussion and sub discussions? What would be good for both mobile and general discussion?

Did Luther call out capitalism for the evil that it is? Not coveting is one of the 10 commandments and Paul says in Colossians 3:5 that greed is idolatry.

Hong Kong Protests sing Hymns

Hong Kong protests sing Christian hymns in the streets following days of brutal repression by police left dozens injured.

The protestors were mainly students singing Christian hymns and holding up signs demanding police to stop using violence against the people of Hong Kong,

The latest round of protests are the largest since the British ceded jurisdiction of the Island back to China. The protests are in response to a new law that would allow the government to extradite any Hong Kong citizen to China to face Chinese justice.

China's justice system lacks transparency and routinely represses speech and religion. In the past few years China has been taking action against Christian groups including arresting pastors and destroying Christian churches.

Divine reward and punishment in this world?

So I was thinking about why God lets some evil people become prosperous and why he lets some good and faithful people live in poverty or suffer.

Here is my understanding of things:

non-believers

God takes a hands off approach to those who do not accept Christ. He will not punish them for their sins but he will not reward or punish them either. He will however send them to hell after they die.

Believers

God will always provide what is sufficient to the believer, although this does not necessarily indicate wealth. He will punish believers for their sins in this life and reward them when they are good and faithful.

(this was taken mainly from Hebrews 12:6.)

non-hearers

To those who have never heard the world of Christ, God will look at their deeds and thoughts based on "the law that is written in their hearts" and as convicted by the holy spirit. They will be treated in the manner of believers or non-belivers to the extent that they practice the law as it is written in their hearts. (based on Romans 2:12-16)

Do you think this is an accurate depiction of how God treats believers and unbelievers in this world?

Sick of the Catholic Church

Okay, I've got to say it, I'm sick of the Catholic church.

It has noting to do with the pope, it has nothing to do with the scandals. It's all about what's missing from the church.

First the sermons lack spirituality and substance, aside from theological errors the average catholic sermon amounts to be nice to others, appreciate others etc. It's like something I could get by watching Barney and friends, it's divorced from scripture, tradition and it feels empty and stupid.

2. Catholics are not involved in church services - the average Catholic doesn't even sing along to church hynms.

3. I'm told that latin mass services are different and better - no it's not. Yes the sermons are a little more edifying, but the average church service seems just as empty

4. Nobody cares - proof - prottys have bible studies, small groups, church meets. What do we have, average church has legion of mary, knights of columbus each with a handful of old retirees and that's about it.

5. Average Catholic prays more to pet saints and Mary than to Jesus and says repetitive mind numbing rosaries and our fathers more than they actually pray. I don't even care about the debate but seriously what's the point of all this crap. Fine intercessory but are we practicing some medieval witchcraft where you say this novena to this saint 9 days in a row and your wish is granted. Seriously what the fuck?

6. Average Catholic is more familiar with church Catechisms than the bible and the teachings of Christ. Seriously? Why. I get that tradition is supposed to help us interpret scripture but it seems to me tradition has grown unwieldy and acted as a layer between us and scripture and oftentimes even replaced the guidance of scripture.

I'm sorry, say what you want about traditions and etc, this is a dying church without much to offer. Maybe it's better. Honestly I'm sick of this church and I feel like my faith and my life stagnate inside the Catholic church

Choosing a Church

Other than denomination, what factors should people look for in a church and when should we break with a church.

1. Doctrinal differences

Should we leave a church because they are or are not calvinist, arminian or they hold pre-millennial or amillennial views? Of course we don't want to go to a mormon church or a LGBT friendly church- but how extreme does the doctrinal differences have to be before we leave.

2. Sinfulness

Should the sinfulness of the congregation come into play. I've never been to a church where I've seen them kick out a repeat sinner. Should this be something to consider?

3. Preaching

How important is preaching in a church? If the preaching is terrible and unedifying, but the doctrine and congregation are good, should we stay? If the preaching is good should that keep us in church despite a sinful congregation and bad doctrine.

4. Community

How important is a community in a church? My finding is that protestant church communities and small groups tend to be pretty insular and hard to break into. Catholic churches on the other hand tend to lack community.

But then, how can a just God use faith for our salvation? Do we really have control over that?

The nature of women and sex

Can we talk about women (female posters please chime in)?

I dont want to bash women or go into sexist tirades. Keep them at the door.

I want to understand the nature of women from the perspective of God. I have started seeing a woman who had past sexual encounters (not many but a few) within the realms of a relationship; she is otherwise a great and dedicated girl. At first I didnt care but it has slowly been eating away at me. When I spoke to her about my discomfort she expressed shame and regret but didnt really understand why it was a big deal - i concluded her shame and regret came from her trying to appease my value for purity; she herself didnt really get it. I feel like I cant look at her as if she is pure anymore because she allowed more than the man she wants to marry to share her body. On the flipside, I have preserved myself up until this point because I instinctively value purity so much.

But what hurts me most is that I am not sure if women innately value purity and chastity. Why do men put a high value on this but women do not seem to? There is a mismatch in nature. God's design should be balanced and I feel unsettled by this.

Women tend to be in conflict: they inherently think they should be chaste but simultaneously they want to do lewd and decadent acts. I cant understand this. Why dont women want to inherently protect their body for the right man? Why do they give it so easily even early on in "relationships"

I understand we look to God to overcome our sins and temptations but sin is a departure from God's design for us. Therefore, a desire for purity should already be baked into the fiber of our being. I feel like this desire exists more strongly for men than in women and I cant understand why for the life of me.

I am feeling depressed and despondent over these observations. Life and nature dont make any sense. Its less about this girl im seeing and more about the implications of what it means in nature and God's design.

Are women incapable of appreciating purity? I feel like they require reinforced learning to value it via the bible, a church community and godly parents; whereas men have an innate love of purity, beauty and chastity. This makes me then question whether a womans striving for purity is real in her heart or just a means of social acceptance.

I dont want to feel this way. In many ways I want to be convinced Im looking at it wrong. Share personal experiences if you can.

This felt good to get off my chest. God bless

The problem with /Christianity/

Day after day, time after time, people come here and fall to sin. The problem we are facing every day on this board is not the fact that people are trying to talk about Christian theology, but rather that the website itself is plagued with all that is unholy. Pornography, satanism, hardcore agendas blaspheming God, the occult, the downfall of civilization, and much more.

All of the above mentioned things seem to have been a possible reason for by some anons here ended up on this board or site as a whole. I'm sure many of you may have come from halfchan. However, halfchan was never a place for growth or theological reasoning in the first place. What originally may have been an exciting place for entertainment that many anons stumbled upon, has instead turned into the very shackles that Christians attempt to overcome in the first place.

At this point, one of the biggest problems is that people that have even moderately right-leaning beliefs are being pushed so far into the deepweb that they are being exposed to some of the most vile and asinine garbage known to mankind. Many of you are probably addicted to sexual immorality, or any number of other things, and it has gotten a hold of your hearts.

It must be asked at this point:

>why has there not been a website created to get away from this filth?

It is sickening that we end up here day after day, only to find ourselves just as lost as when we first started the search for God. It would be great to hear everyone's thoughts on this. May God bless all of you, and unite us in our faith.

Contraception?

I was going to post this on /christian/ but I'm worried the thread is just going to get shit on by Catholics who will dismiss everyone else, not let other viewpoints see the light of day, and end up getting the thread deleted. So I'm posting it here.

What are your thoughts on contraception?

Now I am Orthodox, and as such I follow my Church in opposing any form on contraception that entails abortion, including birth control pills because they're abortifacients. But I have to say, barrier methods such as condoms I don't feel are always wrong. St. John Chrysostom condemns contraceptive methods which induce abortion, but he himself does write that marriage doesn't always have to entail procreation, but now especially with the advent of Christ, it is for our salvation. It can prevent us from lust and fornication as St. Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 7. As such, married couples should produce children, but every act of intercourse doesn't have to be for that purpose. Natural family planning is the best option, but if your spiritual father gives permission, oikonomia, for the sake of avoiding the sins of lust or adultery or even rape, using barrier methods, I am not strictly opposed to, and they don't change the bodies natural processes either like with other birth control methods which may cause harm to the embryo.

While I respect the Latin view, and encourage them to obey their Bishops, it seems to be founded upon Stoic & Augustinian ideas that sex is bad and the only purpose of it is procreation in marriage. It's too legalistic and it doesn't take into account human nature and our salvation, it lays a heavy burden and is almost Pharisaic. Marriage is a sacrament, it is about the two people involved in the marriage. Children can be a product of this marriage, and this is good because this is what God originally made marriage for, but now that the hope of the resurrection awaits us marriage is a matter concerning salvation, it is a gift God allows us to have to help control our own weaknesses as human beings that we might obtain the glory of Christ. Amen.

Latins scoff at us, but they just don't understand how Orthodox theology is, they can't see outside their little scholastic bubbles. They somehow think we've gone liberal when really this is always the Orthodox opinion which has been successfully applied in different situations through different times in history. They don't understand the Eastern fathers, and they disrespect our respective tradition.

A lot of your might share my opinion because many of you are Orthodox, but many are Protestants and I'd also like you hear your view. Everyone is welcome to discuss here. :)

SBC Annual Meeting 2019

The Annual Meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention is underway in Birmingham, Alabama.

The SBC is the world's largest Protestant and Protestant Evangelical denomination, and the largest Evangelical missionary agency with the "International Mission Board" and "North American Mission Board".

Short summary of events:

Every Southern Baptist church sends messengers to the convention to receive reports from Convention leadership and to vote on proposed resolutions. In the literal sense, this is the only annual time that the convention exists. This year it's Tuesday and Wednesday morning and evening.

This is also the time that the news attacks the convention, so there's scandal in the headlines. Because of the "#MeToo" moment, sexual abuse has become an urgent issue across the culture including the SBC.

Please pray for the convention. Leave any questions here about the SBC if you like.

There will be recordings and livestreams of the remaining sessions to come.

Pride

It is currently pride month and the bible has a lot to say about pride, in Obadiah 1:3 it says "The pride of your heart has deceived you" and Jesus told the story of the pharisee praying to HIMSELF about how he is a just man unlike others and a tax collector humbling himself before the Lord and the tax collector going home justified.

This is why I believe pride is evil and there is nothing to love about ourselves. We must beg for mercy from God and acknowledge how corrupted we are. This is why there should be no Pride month.

>Therefore be on your guard against the Jews and know that where they have their schools there is nothing but the Devil's nest in which self-praise, vanity, lies, blasphemy, disgracing God and man, are practiced in the bitterest and most poisonous way as the Devils do themselves. Wherever you see or hear a Jew teaching, do not think otherwise than that you are hearing a poisonous Basiliskus who with his face poisons and kills people. (Medieval legend.) Through God's wrath they have been delivered to believe that all of their boasting, vanity, lying to God, cursing all men, are right and a great service to God, something well becoming to such noble blood of the fathers and circumcised saints (no matter how mean they otherwise might know themselves to be in gross vices) which service they think they have rendered hereby.

>Look out for them!

>They brag and boast that they have had the land of Canaan, the city of Jerusalem and the temple from God. Although God has overthrown such boasting and vanity many times, especially through the king of Babylon who led them away and destroyed everything, like the King of Assyria had before led away and destroyed the entire Israel. Finally they were rooted up and devastated by the Romans, now almost 1400 years ago, that they might comprehend how God did not consider, nor will He regard country, city, temple, priesthood and principality, that He should consider them His own chosen people on that account; yet their iron neck (as Isaiah calls it) is not bowed, nor has their iron forehead become red with shame.

>They constantly remain stiff-necked, blinded, hardened, and immovable. Still hope that God will bring them home again and give everything back to them.

Is Luther right, that God ordained the destruction of Jerusalem and the diaspora of the Jews so that they would understand they don't have special status before Him?

good preachers?

I've noticed that there is a real lack of good preachers in many churches both Catholic and protestant. I remember I went to this presbyterian church in Korea that had an English section for foreigners.

The preacher preached some of the most amazing, most biblical sermons you ever heard, and every week, the numbers would dwindle and he was starting to get in trouble from the church elders because he didn't have enough members. He eventually died young and left his wife and children behind.

There was also an amazing pastor in Toronto who died young. I don't know if this is a pattern where someone who really strives to serve him is killed young by the ruler of this world.

Do you know any good preachers that can be accessed on youtube - other than the obvious

meme pastor Steve Anderson

I'll start by linking pic related, I was a fairly liberal live and let live Christian until I saw this sermon and realized that the only reason I thought I was a good Christian is because I'm no different from the Christians around me - without realizing that there was a serious problem with Western Christianity and a serious problem with many of the Christians around me

Counter to the Papacy

This is a response to pic related that gets posted often.

Simon really did have a name change to "Cephas", which translated is "Peter" between Aramaic and Greek. It means rock, and this was intentional symbolism related to the event of Matthew 16. There truly is a pun involved with "you are Peter (Petros, a rock) , and upon this rock (petra, large rock, bedrock) I will build my church" Matt 16:18.

The Catholic uses this passage to claim that Peter had exclusive authority over all church leadership matters, and that they're the only inheritors of such authority.

The "keys to the kingdom" allegedly give

>authority to govern the house of God, which is the Church

The power to "bind and loose" gives

>authority to absolve sins

>to pronounce doctrinal judgements

>to make disciplinary decisions in the Church

Catholic catechism, 553

Couple this with a series of strawmen about protestantism, and you have quite a narrative:

>protestants are subjectivist

>protestants reject church governance

>protestants reject that Christ established visible churches

All of which are explicitly rejected by every reformer, and in every generation for the last 502 years.

In reality, Christ's charge to Peter, as with every spiritual teaching, is broadly applicable to all Christians. Peter was told that the church will be built (upon his confession), and Peter was told "feed my sheep" thrice (John 21), but this responsibility didn't end with Peter. If it did, how could it be related to his role as bishop of Rome since he had not been there yet (if ever)? Peter was not a bishop at the time of John 21. Peter's immediate role was as a missionary to the circumcised after Christ's ascension. "Sheep" in the NT always refers to the disciples or believers in the church, and the shepherd is either Christ or a pastor. How then can we call Peter the chief of earthly shepherds based on John 21 when he's not even recognized as a shepherd there? "Feed MY sheep" says Jesus.

Look at Peter's own words in reference to the job of a shepherd:

>1 I exhort the elders among you, as your fellow elder and witness of the sufferings of Christ, and a partaker also of the glory that is to be revealed,

>2 shepherd the flock of God among you, (1 Pet. 5:1-2 NAS)

"Fellow elder" sympresbyteros, same presbyter

This catholic says "to whom did Paul go? To Peter" in Galatians 1 as an argument that Peter was chief. The book of Galatians, the angry epistle, teaches the exact opposite. Read Galatians chapter 2. Years later, Paul goes to elders in Jerusalem to have them confirm his gospel message, "for fear that I might be running, or had run, in vain" (v.2). If Peter was the chief authority, why didn't he already know? Why did he go to these elders and not to Peter? Not only was Peter not the chief elder, he was in public error. Peter was preaching a false gospel of the judaizers, the same issue the churches in Galatia are facing, and the scripture records Paul's open rebuke of Peter.

Peter had no special authority over any other elder. The office of the Bishop of Rome in turn has never had special authority. I am totally uninterested in the claims they make to consolidate authority for themselves in the face of scripture, in the face of countless scandals, and worst of all in abandonment of the gospel. The Bible was carefully collected and canonized under the inspiration of the Spirit, due to wonderful saints who feared God, and in spite of Romanist power-grabs. Look no further than the suppression of Bible translation in the reformation era to see this is true.

What I'm asking for is a little critical thinking beyond blind trust in an institution because it's old. Too many catholic arguments are summed up in erroneous waves of the hand that essentially amount to the Christian equivalent of "who will support the elderly if the government doesn't?", and just like our confiscatory tax system you're losing something valuable when you buy into the catholic system: your agency.

Eternal Secrutiy

Once Saved Always Saved - is it proper scripture or is it a false doctrine.

Admittedly there isn't much clear scripture either way - so I'm reluctant to draw any firm conclusions

However Scripture does clearly say that we as Christains should be always vigilant beause our enemy the devil roams about like a prowling lion

It says that Christians must put on the full armor of God to protect ourselves from these attacks

Also Hebrews 3:12

>Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called ‘Today’, lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

So all in all it seems to me like the bible doesn't make any clear unequivocal statements towards OSAS but it does teach Christians to be constantly on guard and watchful against the devil and it does teach the terrible consequences of sin - damnation. Based on this, it seems to me that the doctrine of once saved always saved does not line up with scripture

I looked around for a replacement agenda but there really is a dearth of good practical agenda planners on the market. So I decided to just make one myself, print it out and bind it with some cerlox.

Since it is DIY, I thought I would include stuff that would help make me a better Christian. Any ideas for things that a Christian should include in his or her daily to dos?

This thread is dedicated to the discussion of the 1611 KJV, the superior and only faithful English translation of the Holy Scriptures. I encourage all faithful believers in Jesus Christ to seek out a KJV Only, Bible Believing, Local New Testament Baptist Church where "the truth shall make you free." (John 8:32). Amen.

Programmer God

Is God a programmer developing AI in a separate timeline from ours through guided random chance?

Perhaps day one He turned on the system, light energy everywhere, then condensed photons into quantum material at a single point until the electromagnetic force repelled like charged entities that would then be regathered into a central solar forge that would be the size of every last sun in our universe and able to make every single element into a shell around such a forge, leaving the most super-dense elements close to the forge?

Couldn't water have been a straight linear molecule that on the 2nd day was bent in order to give it properties that would allow it to have the odd density properties that we see today? (additionally, microscopic single celled organisms and basic multi-celled organisms could develop during this time)

Couldn't the third day then be the agricultural force of great sturdy plants developed as a means of creating self-growing multi-cellular life? (and wouldn't it be feasible to allow the life to self-program and form habits to better adapt and survive?)

Could we also suppose that on the 4th day of programming that the great fusion furnace went super nova in the form of a big bang where the dense elements would be broken apart while shielding the more sensitive earth, allowing seeds to survive? Let's say it's a rare occurrence that anything survives, couldn't a programmer go back to the last stable version, change variables, and try again and again?

If so, then wouldn't it make sense on the 5th day to take an effective self-growing life and grant it free range mobility in the sky and sea to test its means to find food and survive?

And if that makes sense, then why not implement the coding from successful free-range mobile entities into limited mobility land dwelling life to test its intelligence, and then use the most developed intelligence to create primitive AI?

Couldn't the first primitive AI be theoretically reincarnated indefinitely as the body aged, thus allowing consciousness to be everlasting while the bodies would serve to complete a perfect cycle, feeding carnivores, then scavengers, and so on until the bodies became plant food?

Then simply give them free will by giving a command and allowing the system to tempt the AI into proving its independent nature through rebellion, and if the rebellion became so great that it threatened obedient AI, then the programmer could wipe the system save for the best candidate AI and use them as a base for repopulation.

The programmer then could guide a specific portion through obedient AI, thus preventing the rebellious AI from having evidence of a creator in order to test integrity. And if certain systems started getting too far out of hand, rewind time, eliminate such systems and replay.

Any great programmer would then set up a perfect archetype to follow, and would make the gateway exit from creation the very thing that was ingrained in us to avoid since the beginning of life, death.

Essentially, free will and omniscience become possible in such an existence, for one can know every possible outcome through rewinding the system, changing elements, and resuming. Plus, the 6 days of creation become very literal, yet at the same time display how manipulatable this existence is since it took trillions of years in our current timeline to accomplish one day's work.

Operation Refugees Welcome

Hey, it's the anon from the let's kill r/Christianity thread.

I think I've sent a message to pretty much every single conservative Christian that posts semi-often on r/Christianity. It didn't take that long as there wasn't that many.

There has been a slight change, but not by much. So I think I'm moving on to phase 2 which I call operation refugees welcome.

So the goal is to destroy the community by diluting it - filling it with as many people as possible that don't belong there - atheists, gays, trans, SJWs. Just get as many as possible pounding on the boarders of the community until the place doesn't look anything like a Christian community but instead just a place for atheists and gays to talk. And that's a good thing because that place isn't a Christian community, it is just a place for gays and atheists to talk.

There has been some objection that because it's called r/Christianity people will think it's Christian. Maybe but the best we can do is make sure that a glance at the content lets people know it's not and anyone actually looking for Christian content will move on.

The task is proving difficult because unlike 3rd world migrants to the West it's really hard to get reprobate redditors to go near anything Christian. But I think if I couch it in SJW terms like come "fight the homophobes" or "stand up for the gay" or "defend atheists" I might be able to get them to move in large numbers all at once.

I hate homosexuals so much… so much… I know though that this is against the commandment to love your neighbor. I think what makes me hate them so much is their culture of degeneracy though. Pushing it onto children Parading around half naked in the streets, having a "Pride" Month, and then there are the so called "Christian" politicians supporting them, and big companies like Google promoting it. All it makes me want to do is plaster Leviticus 20:13 everywhere. I really hate fags and dykes… They are engaging in abominations and for some reason society actually approves of their sins and it makes me that much angrier. How do I stop being wrathful?

Issue with sectarianism

I have an issue with strict sectarianism, and I think these two men (CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien) exemplify my issues.

These men were both very righteous men who brought many people to Christ through their work and writing. One was a Catholic, and the other was a Protestant. Because of their upbringing/background, neither has ignorance as an excuse. Tolkien understood Protestantism, Lewis understood Catholicism. Now they are both dead.

Say one is in heaven and the other is in Hell. This means God cares so much about denomination that he will damn you to Hell over this little issue. It also has some problematic repercussions in terms of the men themselves. If God is Catholic, Tolkien is in Heaven. Tolkien is either forced to live in Heaven with the knowledge his best friend is burning in Hell; or he has been brainwashed into no longer loving his friend and is ambivalent/happy about his morbid fate. If God is Protestant, everything I just wrote applies with “Lewis” in place of “Tolkien.”

Of course, say they’re both in Heaven. Well now, all the theological debates and religious wars have been for nothing, as God doesn’t even care about denomination.

You see now my issue? No matter how their fate turns out, I have an issue with it. Note that I’m using these guys as a famous example of Catholic/Protestant good friends, but it applies to really any people of differing denomination. What happens when a Catholic marries a Protestant? Are they saved by marriage, or are they happy their loved one is burning in Hell?

The bible does say that we should carry out these punishments so that we can put the evil ones away from us (so that corruption and degeneracy does not grown in a permissive society like ours)

God never said the Civil law applied only to Jews in the dessert and carrying out these punishments would indicate a legal system in accords with God's wisdom

evolution is a lie

Evolution is a lie.

I'm a Catholic, my church tells me that Christianity is compatible with evolution. But having looked into it - evolution seems like a dubious, stupid lie, and the biblical worldview seems to me more rational.

Among other reasons, genetic entropy

we accumulate mutations and parents transmit mutations to offspring. Most of these mutations are neutral, 3/4 are bad and 1/4 is beneficial.

These mutations add up over time and result in things like more cancer, more genetic degradation

natural selection can't get rid of mutations that are neutral or harmful but not immediately (or visibly) harmful

why does this debunk evolution?

1. it suggests recent creation

2. it reinforces kinds because even under the best of circumstances speciation through beneficial mutation won't be enough to get rid of the effects of negative mutation

let's kill r/Christianity

Hey, so I have this project I've been working on for a while, I want to destroy reddit's r/Christianity sub (pic related). The old /Christian/ sub was into it for a while and we did a crusade but it wasn't really organized and things fell apart

It still grates me that one of the largest open Christian gathering spots on the web is so blatantly heretical. They're going to mislead people

So why not hit 2 birds with one stone - let's grow this board and take down r/Christianity at the same time.

I think posting and talking to them is the wrong approach - we tried that the last time and the gay and transgendered mods (I'm not kidding they actually have a trans and a few gay mods) ended up banning everyone.

So how do we take down r/Christianity without posting anything there? Simple, we take away their Christians.

create reddit accounts and then send private messages to the Christians on r/Christianity asking them to come here instead. It's a mini recruitment drive that'll help grow our numbers while driving down their numbers. Yeah I know we don't want them here, but we're only going to invite people who go against the grail on r/Christianity who oppose homosexuality and abortion and the usual redditor nonsense.

It's simple to find Christians on r/Christianity, just go to the controversial section and look for posts about abortion or homosexuality. Or find a thread with many replies and scroll all the way to the bottom. You'll see Christians. We can invite those with the correct theology here so we can build a good foundation of people.

Along with inviting, we could discourage them from posting there with warnings like -, you're only helping them give a semblance of Christianity, the bigotry rule prevents you from pointing out simple things like bringing in scientific evidence showing homosexuality is harmful (https://www.reddit.com/r/Christianity/wiki/xp/meta#wiki_homophobia) , brucemo was a part of SRS (he was), heck there are tons of reasons no good Christian should be anywhere near that place

What does this do? It throws off the balance of r/Christianity. Without any real Christians r/Christianity won't be able to maintain the facade of a Christian board. They'll lean so far to the left and lean so far towards atheism that people will realize they just a board named r/Christianity and there is nothing actually Christian about them.

Also it'll shrink their numbers - r/Christianity may look overwhelmingly big but they only have about 350-500 people on at any given time. That's not much different from what /Christian/ used to have - so getting rid of even a few people will make a difference. Besides a lot of the regulars only post to attack Christians so once the Christians are gone, they'll be gone too dramatically shrinking that place's numbers. We can do it, we can kill reddit Christianity

We should stop debating about Genesis; these people believe that Jesus never existed and it should be our job to expose these individuals and have Christians reject, science, history and civilization. We must all forsake everything and give up all our wealth to poor people and live simple lives. If all Christians fight back against science and history we would all be plunged into a simpler time where demos caused diseases and the earth was flat and Jesus really did exist.

God is perfect so his plan for creation and direction for it must be perfect. If any other that is better is possible, it means God is not perfect

As God knows and simultaneously sees past, present and future, is perfect and plans its direction, you are in fact frozen. There is no real movement. Before God made you or anything, he foresaw what he would do. Foreseeing what you and all he would do which he sees as the best, the creates from start to finish which he cannot perceive as a sequence as temporal creatures do

You are frozen

Christian persecution at near genocide levels

http://archive.is/l2BUR

>Review estimated that one in three people suffer from religious persecution.

>Christians were the most persecuted religious group, it found.

>Its findings come after more than 250 people were killed and more than 500 wounded in attacks at hotels and churches in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday.

>Mr Hunt, who is on a week-long tour of Africa, said he thought governments had been "asleep" over the persecution of Christians but that this report and the attacks in Sri Lanka had "woken everyone up with an enormous shock".

>He added: "I think there is a misplaced worry that it is somehow colonialist to talk about a religion that was associated with colonial powers rather than the countries that we marched into as colonisers.

>"What we have forgotten in that atmosphere of political correctness is actually the Christians that are being persecuted are some of the poorest people on the planet."

Come, Lord Jesus

The silver lining is that the mainstream are having to admit the persecution. That is a welcome change against the "Christians are oppressors" marxist narrative.

Christian Resources

It would be useful if there was a big database of Christian resources. So many supposedly unbiased, objective internet monopolies are hostile to Christianity. What if there was a conclusive database that collected as much history, theology, and the like as possible, while also warning away from false teachings. As a plus, make it work like the sites with the entire Bible on them, but weigh the pros and cons of each translation.

The problem would be approaching resources that denominations disagree on. Would there be different databases for each denomination, or an analysis of each denomination and their views?

Except that this is just a thread for sharing Christian resources. That would be a huge undertaking regarding things I'm not an authority on, so I'm not equipped to do so. I suppose it doesn't have to just be old stuff, any sites or media focused on Christian content can also be shared here. Also I just took these images from /christian/, I'm not positive on everything in them.

Experiencing the Enemy, Spiritual Battle.

I'm not ashamed to tell you, I saw sexual dreams today and a couple days earlier. Both, were caused by the unclean spirits trying to destroy my life. These unclean spirits shall always try to attack you at night, when sleeping, when you are least aware and active. You must will yourself out of the dream that is against God's will for you, to not want it makes the unclean spirits unable to attack you in your dreams. Put on the whole armor of God if you are not born again, be born again. The enemy knows that I know too much, he's trying to get me any way he can. I put my trust in the name of Jesus and in the Holy Spirit to keep me safe from harm's way.

There is little time left, all those who say are Christians, are you really a Christian or are you still holding onto your unclean spirits? You do not need to have them anymore, praise the Lord for the amazing power he gave to man to battle the demonic forces when he gave his own life on the cross! Prayer and commands in the name of Jesus are what scare the demons away, never forget this, brothers and sisters.

And to those who are catholics and of any other religion that bases the chances of getting to heaven through works, your good deeds are filthy rags to God, he doesn't want them, he wants you to believe in his Son who died for your sins and so that you may get to heaven through Him for He is the only way, for others before him have been thieves and robbers.

In the last decade Churches have become too passive

And I don't like it. Have you guys ever noticed how in some churches people don't really do anything anymore other than show up for church and class and then that's it? That's like 90%+ of the churches right now.

I'm getting tired of this. I don't feel anything anymore when visiting church, and people just disappoint in the purposeful sheepishness of their ways. This has directly affected my behavior, as I have begun to do the same things (such as going with the flow instead of being outspoken or asking difficult questions), and it is rather frustrating. On top of this there is little to no interaction with people outside the church anymore. Why is it that people who claim to be a part of a fellowship don't really keep in contact, hang out, or do anything together outside of church? The church has taken a sterile and 'hands-off' approach, which is mildly disturbing.

There needs to be a fine balance between action and prayer.

It's like the church itself is a zombie bumbling around with little direction other than the steering of the pastor and elders that act as the brain.

You will hear little to no talk about the gays, human rights, politics, laws, the knowledge of the bible, or even Apologetics for that matter…

I haven't had a decent conversation with someone about any of these topics without somehow ruining the mood due to its connotations. It's almost as if people are afraid to speak their minds… And rarely, if ever, have a conversation involving these things that we should be extremely concerned about for the church, since it has already dramatically impacted and damaged many denominations, and ruined countless believers lives.

Do u anons have a community where you feel connected? Even having any resemblance of a good discussion is far fetched even online anymore.

Theonomy and Resonstructionism

Thoughts on theonomy or reconstructionism?

>Conversely, Christian reconstructionism's founder, Rousas Rushdoony, wrote in The Institutes of Biblical Law (the founding document of reconstructionism) that Old Testament law should be applied to modern society, and he advocates the reinstatement of the Mosaic law's penal sanctions. Under such a system, the list of civil crimes which carried a death sentence would include murder, homosexuality, adultery, incest, lying about one's virginity, bestiality, witchcraft, idolatry or apostasy, public blasphemy, false prophesying, kidnapping, rape, and bearing false witness in a capital case.[20]

>Kayser points out that the Bible advocates justice, and that biblical punishments prescribed for crimes are the maximum allowable to maintain justice and not the only available option, because lesser punishments are authorized as well.

This movement got lumped in with unrelated movements (like pentecostal NAR, the republican party) under the banner of "dominionism" in the 90s. Which ultimately led to people dismissing it entirely. Was this CIA trickery? Do they fear if christians all adopted this mindset?

There is no "historical" evidence that Jesus existed

Most historians agree that there is no reason to believe that Jesus even existed, do you want to know why this is happening? Why it seems that the secular world is conspiring against Christ?

IT IS BECAUSE WE LET IT HAPPEN! WE CHOOSE TO BUILD A SECULAR KINGDOM INSTEAD OF BUILDING GOD'S KINGDOM.

We all want to work nice jobs and help build the infrastructure that is necessary for a secular society to function; quit building this earthly kingdom; build God's kingdom instead. Quit trying to work for money; store up treasures in heaven instead. Quit facilitating all the scientific research that supposedly disproves the bible. At one point the earth was probably a flat disk with a dome held up by pillars but that all changed when us humans decided to go out and look instead of trusting God.

I love this book so far, and I'm aware that it has a reputation for inspiring atheist philosophrs, probably based on the story within a story, the Grand Inquisitor. Dostoevsky was amazing, a man ahead of his time, perfectly able to depict the kind of whining badly catechized Christian breakaways are still doing to this day. Misunderstanding God, free will, the love of Christ, etc etc etc. It's all there, angst and all.

How badly will it diminish my experience if I just skim to the end where Alyosha tells Ivan to shut his blasphemous mouth?

Did this really happen?

Excerpt from The Life of Paulus the first Hermit, by St. Jerome:

http://www.newadvent.org/fathers/3008.htm

7. But to return to the point at which I digressed. The blessed Paul had already lived on earth the life of heaven for a hundred and thirteen years, and Antony at the age of ninety was dwelling in another place of solitude (as he himself was wont to declare), when the thought occurred to the latter, that no monk more perfect than himself had settled in the desert. However, in the stillness of the night it was revealed to him that there was farther in the desert a much better man than he, and that he ought to go and visit him. So then at break of day the venerable old man, supporting and guiding his weak limbs with a staff, started to go: but what direction to choose he knew not. Scorching noontide came, with a broiling sun overhead, but still he did not allow himself to be turned from the journey he had begun. Said he, "I believe in my God: some time or other He will show me the fellow-servant whom He promised me." He said no more. All at once he beholds a creature of mingled shape, half horse half man, called by the poets Hippocentaur. At the sight of this he arms himself by making on his forehead the sign of salvation, and then exclaims, "Holloa! Where in these parts is a servant of God living?" The monster after gnashing out some kind of outlandish utterance, in words broken rather than spoken through his bristling lips, at length finds a friendly mode of communication, and extending his right hand points out the way desired. Then with swift flight he crosses the spreading plain and vanishes from the sight of his wondering companion. But whether the devil took this shape to terrify him, or whether it be that the desert which is known to abound in monstrous animals engenders that kind of creature also, we cannot decide.

8. Antony was amazed, and thinking over what he had seen went on his way. Before long in a small rocky valley shut in on all sides he sees a mannikin with hooked snout, horned forehead, and extremities like goats' feet. When he saw this, Antony like a good soldier seized the shield of faith and the helmet of hope: the creature none the less began to offer to him the fruit of the palm-trees to support him on his journey and as it were pledges of peace. Antony perceiving this stopped and asked who he was. The answer he received from him was this: "I am a mortal being and one of those inhabitants of the desert whom the Gentiles deluded by various forms of error worship under the names of Fauns, Satyrs, and Incubi. I am sent to represent my tribe. We pray you in our behalf to entreat the favour of your Lord and ours, who, we have learned, came once to save the world, and 'whose sound has gone forth into all the earth.'" As he uttered such words as these, the aged traveller's cheeks streamed with tears, the marks of his deep feeling, which he shed in the fullness of his joy. He rejoiced over the Glory of Christ and the destruction of Satan, and marvelling all the while that he could understand the Satyr's language, and striking the ground with his staff, he said, "Woe to you, Alexandria, who instead of God worships monsters! Woe to you, harlot city, into which have flowed together the demons of the whole world! What will you say now? Beasts speak of Christ, and you instead of God worship monsters." He had not finished speaking when, as if on wings, the wild creature fled away. Let no one scruple to believe this incident; its truth is supported by what took place when Constantine was on the throne, a matter of which the whole world was witness. For a man of that kind was brought alive to Alexandria and shown as a wonderful sight to the people. Afterwards his lifeless body, to prevent its decay through the summer heat, was preserved in salt and brought to Antioch that the Emperor might see it.

Moral Question

The lady at the leasing office made a mistake and I'm paying $170/month less than what they intended. I have a three bedroom apartment, but we're paying the two bedroom rate.

Today I gave my first rent check and she noticed the mistake. She knocked on the door and asked me to resign a lease with the corrected amount, and pay the difference. I declined because I've already signed for the lower amount. She tried to guilt me by saying she would have to personally pay the difference, but I still declined. Giving her the benefit of the doubt (that she wasn't simply lying about her liability), I encouraged her to look into that because I'm confident the employer can't do such a thing.

Was this right, to not get suckered in to paying more? Is this being "shrewd as snakes"?

No useless platitude answers please.

I can't get over race as a christian

I don't hate anyone and I certainly don't hate anyone for their race but one thing that angers me deep down is race-mixing. I don't necessarily see miscegenation as a bad thing but ever single multi-racial couple at my school is pretty much a black dude with a white girl almost without fail. This wouldn't be bad if the couples were a bit more "diverse" but no, deep down I probably hate these people but I want to love them just as God loves me.

Anyone have any advise on how I can deal with this?

Rules concerning heretics?

It's good that we have a board where Catholics, Orthodox, and Protestants can have open discussions without getting banned by the mods because they belong to a different denomination or church. But we got to have some limits here, right? We cannot be like /christian/ where one denomination controls everything, but we cannot be like /christ/ where Gnositcs, Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, Messianic Jews, Unitarians, and whole host of other heresies that are just too far out there. Are these groups being regulated? Should we have a rule that only Trinitarian Christians (Christians who subscribe the the Nicene definition whether they acknowledge it or not) are the only ones allowed on here? We should at least have some common confession of faith on here that should involve the Trinity, which is the central doctrine of Christianity.

Shooting suspect John Earnest

1 Jew dead

Alleged manifesto: https://pastebin.com/VXXFQMTW

Here's what he had to say to us:

<“How can you call yourself a Christian and do this? Surely the Bible calls for you to love your enemies?” Firstly, just because someone calls themselves a Christian does not make them one. Plenty of people wrongfully identify with being Christian. Beyond the scope of time the Father and the Son made a covenant in eternity—that the Son would bring a people to Him that He may be glorified through them. I did not choose to be a Christian. The Father chose me. The Son saved me. And the Spirit keeps me. Why me? I do not know. And my answer to loving my enemies? Trust yids and their puppet braindead lemming normalfags to take one quote from the Bible and grossly twist its meaning to serve their own evil purposes—meanwhile ignoring the encompassing history and context of the entire Bible and the wisdom it takes to apply God’s law in a broken world. Is it lawful to let a thief murder my friend instead of killing the thief to prevent the death of my friend? To ask such a question is to answer it. It is not loving towards your friend to let him be murdered. It is not loving towards your enemy—the thief—to let him murder. A child can understand the concept of self-defense. It is unlawful and cowardly to stand on the sidelines as the European people are genocided around you. I did not want to have to kill Jews. But they have given us no other option. I’m just a normal dude who wanted to have a family, help and heal people, and play piano. But the Jew—with his genocidal instincts—is insistent on poking the bear until it tears his head off. The Jew has forced our hand, and our response is completely justified. My God does not take kindly to the destruction of His creation. Especially one of the most beautiful, intelligent, and innovative races that He has created. Least of all at the hands of one of the most ugly, sinful, deceitful, cursed, and corrupt. My God understands why I did what I did.

Is he right or wrong? Why?

Church is exactly the place you need to be if you have problems. There is a congregation of people meeting every Sunday who want nothing more of you than to love you unconditionally.

Here is everything you need to know:

>Worship service

Looks something like this: Singing, prayer, reading, offering, sermon, benediction.

Pick a seat anywhere. People will want to say hi and shake your hand.

Stand up and sit down when everyone else does.

Nobody is listening to your singing voice, don't worry about it. Sit out a verse if you don't know the song, try to learn the melody for the next one.

They don't want your money in the offering if you're new.

>Sunday school

Just a bible study in smaller groups, maybe organized by age group. This is the best way to meet people.

Show up during the sunday school hour and say "I'm looking for sunday school".

If there's no greeter, just Chad walk up to the room where you hear voices and ask "Is this sunday school?"

>Lord's supper (eucharist)

Don't take it if you're not already Christian.

Nobody will judge you for sitting out, they won't even notice anyway. It's not about you, it's about God.

<But I don't have good enough clothes

<But I'll embarrass myself

<But I have a sinful past

<But I can't kick the sin I'm stuck in

<But I know some of the people at that church, it will be awkward

Shut the hell up, stop being a faggot

Look at yourself in the mirror and say "get behind me satan"

God, the creator of the universe, wants you to follow Him, to understand his word, and to do His work. You can't do it alone, he designed you to be in a church.

I am praying for you.

Large Christian Families Thread

In spite of the terribly high costs of raising a family (at least in my country), I have noted many happy (specifically Catholic) families with ≥7 children. This thread is dedicated to discussing (and perhaps merely appreciating) this phenomenon and is not meant as a relationships thread extra.

What's a good argument against "if god real why bad thing happen?"

Is there any documentation about this I can use to back up my claims? They always say stuff like :"why do Christians thank God when something good happens, but say it cant be helped when something bad happens"

Modern prophets

Everywhere I go, people are claiming to have particular messages from God regarding their lives beyond scriptures. I just let a church that over-spiritualized everything. Nigh every church I'm investigating in my area has a section like this:

>In 2008 God made it clear that _(pastor) was no longer in control of his life and that his life was to be fully available to Him. God’s word that was spoken to _ was that “You did it your way, now it’s time to do it my Way.” That night while crying in his garage, ____ fully surrendered his will to God’s will and now strives to only do as He sees what His father is doing. His life testimony is one of many miracles that many, including God can testify to.

I really want to affirm the sentiment. It would be greatly encouraging, but I can't intellectually get on board. I believe in a closed canon. Continuous revelation is charismatic and against the doctrine of the sufficiency of scripture.

My systematic professor told our class that a claim of revelation amounts to claim of being a prophet, and everyone claiming should be held to the tests of a prophet in the OT, which nobody would pass.

Another way I could assent to such language is to read it as metaphorical, and sometimes it is, but they almost always mean in a very literal way "God told me x,y,z".

Anyone else witness this?

Am I wrong?

Benefits of the Counter-Reformation

Catholics should at least acknowledge that the Reformation forced them to clean house. I'd like to hear /christianity/'s thoughts on how the Catholic church improved (or worsened) as a result of the Reformation. I found this list online and added a few:

1. Greater clarity with regards to doctrine – an unequivocal set of rules.

2. The superstitions of the Medieval Church were under control.

3. New orders were established and went into the community to do “good work” and to help the sick and poor. A spiritual commitment applied to all tasks, which was a good example to lay people.

4. Greater importance put on communion, which enabled the faith to be cultivated and spread.

5. Popes were more open to constructive change and recognized the corruption of the old church. More churches were built.

6. The power of the popes was unquestioned after Trent – this was good if they were pro-reform.

7. The Counter-Reformation proved to the outside world that the Catholic Church had recognized its past failings and was willing to reform itself rather than blind itself to its faults.

8. Ideas of the new Catholic Church spread by groups like the Jesuits.

9. Good support (in general) by Catholic lay rulers after 1555. The Council of Trent was accepted everywhere and though Philip II controlled the Catholic Church in Spain he was an ardent Catholic.

10. The power of Spain in the C16 meant that the Catholic Church had very strong backing.

11. Translation of the Bible into English.

United Methodist Church May Be Moving Up From Sodomite Tier

http://bpnews.net/52822/split-possible-after-methodists-uphold-marriage-stance

>A ruling by the United Methodist Church's highest court has upheld the denomination's support of traditional marriage and its opposition to LGBT ordination. The ruling, some evangelical commentators say, could portend a split in the UMC.

>"The United Methodist Church is not going to be able to hold together" as its liberal and conservative elements espouse conflicting views of human sexuality among other matters, R. Albert Mohler Jr., president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, said today (April 29) in his podcast "The Briefing." "It is not going to be a united Methodist Church. The polarities within the denomination are simply too great."

>In an April 26 ruling, the UMC's Judicial Council upheld 10 of 17 petitions in the Traditional Plan narrowly adopted by delegates to the UMC General Conference in February. The Traditional Plan affirmed the UMC's longstanding declarations that "the practice of homosexuality is incompatible with Christian teaching" and that "self-avowed practicing homosexuals" cannot be ordained to the ministry or married in the UMC.

A message

For those who are losing faith, do not despair.

For he is about to return.

The process is on-going for they are in.

There is no turning back anymore.

Have faith or rather, don't you dare to ever lose it.

For those who do not have it yet, acquire it and believe when I say, you will not acquire faith by reading 100 pages or 1000 pages long book.

Begin by losing.

Without your struggle, this would have never happened.

The least I will say, the less probability to be marked as insane.

Do not despair.

Soldiers of GOD do not need to be reminded of this, but I will say it anyway.

Do not lie.

Find your purpose.

Get ready.

Questions?

Replies will be very brief, if any.

Circumcision isn't Christian or medically safe

San Fransisco Failed, Germany Failed, Iceland Failed, there have been countless attempts to ban infant male circumcision that have failed despite having a majority support in the area? Areas where religious minorities are at an all time low, circumcision rates are essentially non-existent. Yet non-medically justified, routine genital mutilation (religious or not) continues to occur despite the gender counter part being forbidden by law.

What message does it send where males are violated at birth, while females have their bodies protected by law? Iceland hospitals refused to conduct infant circumcision and had signed agreements among the hospitals across the country to refuse such services as medically unjustified. As a result a vote to illegalize the practice was initiated which resulted in international uproar.

It's an extremely simple topic that people have an illogical habit of complicating. The right to inflict bodily injury on another persons body without their consent. Religiously motivated or not. I cant religiously mutilate animals. It's considered animal abuse.

The main contention I have, is to put the practice into perspective to see the true tragedy and the reason why it's not complicated to see why it should be illegal. To turn the infant, into a grown adult, and keep the situation identical.

You are 25 years old. Your parents have decided to take you against your will to the doctors, where people over power you, forcefully strap you onto an operating table, strap your legs and arms down so you can't move, and without anesthesia, take a knife to your genitals, cutting the most private part of your body as you scream in pain. This is something you'd expect in a scene from the Saw movie franchise. Not something we would callously turn a blind eye happening to infants.

So what are you thoughts on why so many countries have failed their own children to protect them from genital mutilation.

https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/moral-landscapes/201307/pro-circumcision-culturally-biased-not-scientific-experts?amp

Circumcision is culturally based and not medically based. Cutting a penis to reduce the remote chance of penile cancer is like cutting a girl's budding breasts to reduce the chance of breast cancer.

Jesus and Paul were against circumcision for good reason! It's a covenant that was only supposed to only be for Jews!

Please quit calling atheists fedoras

Do you like it when someone belittles you? Then why do you do it to others; Jesus says in Matthew 7:12, "So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets". Attack their arguments don't attack the person, even if they all are literally the stereotypical neckbeard(most of them aren't) just ignore that attribute. Even if they do verbally attack you, reflect the love of Jesus and love them just as you would love your neighbor.

He is Risen!

Happy Easter!

The fact that Jesus rose from the dead on the third day is our only hope. If you are redeemed, you will have a resurrection body. We will be resurrected by the power of Christ.

>12 Now if Christ is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?

>13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised;

>14 and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain.

>15 Moreover we are even found to be false witnesses of God, because we testified against God that He raised Christ, whom He did not raise, if in fact the dead are not raised.

>16 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised;

>17 and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins.

>18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.

>19 If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied.

I am a non demon Christian. For the past month or so I been studying Romans and I just cant shake off how baptism is described as being buried with Christ.
