To add, my problem with commissions in not that the artist gets paid, but with the people taking out commissions. The artist is not doing the things they love, but he just keeps drawing shitty fursonas like sparkle dogs for cash.
It's just so soulless and bland in my opinion.

well i dont know either, but im quite curious since im learning to draw myself ( >>2538 ) and have yet to decide how ill aproach shilling myself out, i dont even have a gallery yet since im not confident enough. thing is i dotn want to close the more general, nonfetish doors by drawing disgusting nonvanilla lewds (which i personaly wouldnt mind too much)
