No way does Lat look 8 anyway. ぴくちぃ式 Miku is the youngest looking of the non-chibi models, noticeably younger looking than Lat, and it looks around 10 I think.
Age aside (I don't really think too hard about the "age" of computer models), Lat doesn't look so innocent, not in a way that would make it uncomfortable. She has a sort-of canny air about her. People on NND often call her あざとい which can mean "clever" in addition to 可愛い.

I personally don't like the PD models. A lot of the MMD ones feel much more expressive(though it might be just their use)
and the ones in the cinematics and dreamy theater are straight terrible, uncanny
No.457
>>456Mostly agreed, though perhaps not in such strong terms. I think the "uncanny" aspect of the DT/Arcade models has to do with their mouth movements more than anything else.
I disagree about the models used in the opening cinematics though, I like those models.
Lastly, I think TDA Miku has the best mouth movements / morphs.

Well I personally hate it when anyone sexualizes ANY of them, they are one of the few things I keep pure in my heart. But I can't limit anyone’s freedom, so usually I turn a blind eye on it.
I feel sorry for TdaMiku though. She was "made too well", and people abuse the shit out of her.

>>3376Too real. Almost uncanny.
Almost looks like a cosplayer.
No.3378
>>3377Hm. Doesn't really trigger "uncanny valley" for me.
You'd have to admit it could have been much worse given that the clip was created for the Miku Expo in America. I think it's pretty faithful to Miku's character design overall.
If I were to quibble, I would say she should have a smaller mouth, thinner lips, paler complexion and slightly less rounded face. Ironically they made her look too Asian compared to her usual look.
No.3380
>>3376Doesn't really look like miku tbh. It does look too much like a cosplayer. It makes no sense to try to make her look like a human anyway because she is meant to be an android.
No.3383
>>3380As I said in
>>3378, I think she does look like Miku on the whole. She has the delicate and petite build, the trademark hair, etc.
As for Miku being an android, you're tempting me to more devil's advocacy, because that's my preferred interpretation of her. However, the official blurb calling her an android from the future has not been used in a long time, so I don't know that you can say that is canonical.
No.3384
>>3378Well I prefer the anime-ish 2D look on them.
"uncanny" might be an overstatement, but "too real" still holds. And "realistic" Vocaloids feel out of place for me.

>>6531I really like this model. What programs does it work it? MMD? Or something completely different?
Are there any videos where this has been used yet?
No.7250
It's an MMD model in .pmx format. You can load MMD models in some other 3D programs (like Maya or Blender) but they're less easy to use that way and there may be glitches.
I haven't seen it used in a video yet.
No.7324
I'm starting to notice a trend in English readmes.
Apart from looking similar(which is not a problem, of course), they seem to be worded in the same way. One particular line however, irks me.
>You must credit me, "<xyz>", when using this MMD Model Data.
While looking at the Japanese readme, it's usually something like this:
>タグまたはコンテンツツリー登録をするか、動画説明文かクレジットにモデルか私の名前を書いてください。
which even with Google Translate, translates to:
"Tag or either the content tree registration, please write the model or my name in the video description or credit."
Now this could mean two things.
Either they use copy-paste readmes and someone fucked up, or they openly harbour some grudge against overseas people.
tl;dr: the English readme comes off as being rude/mean egoistic self-concerned, while the Japanese one is worded politely as someone would expect.
I find this very annoying.
No.7325
>>7241I'm pretty sure every model mentioned in this thread is for MMD at the very least.
No.7326
>>6531I like this cel shaded one.
Are there any cel shaded models for the other vocaloids?
No.7329
>>7326Not many I'm afraid.
No.7331
>>7324They are only worded differently and they both mean the same thing in the end. The artist just wants credit for the work he did and that's only fair.
No.7338
>>7331I still don't like it. It feels like we're being discriminated against.
No.7340
>>7329That's too bad.
I personally think that anime styled characters should only be rendered in a cel shaded style.
No.7342
>>7340I thought all of these models were considered "cel-shaded", since they aren't trying to be photorealistic.
Bad lighting and shaders can ruin them very easily though, and it happens so often recently.
No.7343
>>7338But nobody is being insulted in any way. It's just a rough translation that simply means the artist wants credit for the effort he put into making the model. Not every translation is good and carries a feeling of warmth to the reader. Translations are often to convey the basic information that is needed to properly understand what the artist is trying to tell people what he wants done if someone uses his work. It is only fair that the artist has full control over his work but the way you are told will often come across as cold. This is a common issue with translations in general. He doesn't mean to insult anyone personally.
No.7344
>>7343That's why I said "either someone fucked up, or…".
When I read the original, I think "Wow, this person is a nice guy".
When I read the English though "Wow, what a prick".
You should see why the first one translates to "please do the right thing" while the other "do it right asshole, or else".
No.7345
>>7343Just to make it clear, I'm not arguing whether they deserve the credit they ask for or not. I'm saying it's worded in a way that can put the author in a bad light.
If the fucking machine can get it almost completely correctly, I don't see how it couldn't be worded the same way/nicely in the English readme, and it comes across as rude.
It's like someone gives you a meal and says "Have a nice meal" or "here, eat it".
No.7351
>>7344>>7345It's just a simple translation error; there is no need to get upset about it. If the text in the artists native language isn't rude then he truly means it that way. I see no reason to be upset about it.
