Oh man you can get fully equipped for that. Even getting mid-range equipment you'll be fine, unless by weapon you mean a $1000 rifle. You can scrape together most of your equipment for next to nothing.
>Shelter
You can get a good solo or 2 man tent for <$100. I got the King's Peak II tent. For ultra poorfag you can A-frame a tarp for $10 but bugs and cold will be able to get in. If you're in a swamp, a hammock might be a good idea. You can get off the ground for as cheap as $20. Jungle hammocks (with bugnets) can be had for $50. Milsurp shops have these, but I got the Grand Trunk Skeeter Beeter.
>Tools
A good multitool can run you $100, but I use a $15 one from Lowe's, so I don't cry if it breaks or I lose it.
Morakniv is a great fixed blade knife for dirt cheap, better than some $50-100 knives at $15.
A folding camp saw or axe is handy for firewood. Expect to pay $40-50 for either one.
>Pack
I use an Alice pack like in the picture there. It cost me $50 on ebay, frame and all. You can splurge on a good backpacking bag with a better frame. It'll be a lot lighter and more comfortable.
>Sleeping Bag
You'll get what you pay for in a sleeping bag. Pay $10 and expect to freeze. Make sure you get a waterproof bag for it. Matter of fact, you'll want to waterproof everything if you're gonna be hanging out in swamplands.
>Weapon
I carry a Makarov pistol for innawoods. It's durable, reliable, and simple to break down and clean if it gets dirty. Ammo is cheap but you'll have to order it. A Mak will run you about $350, and ammo ~$13 a box.
Everything else is under $10 or already lying around your house. I've gone as cheap as possible because I'm definitely a poorfag.
