My rule of thumb for taking any rp in SL serious is to just avoid mandatory huds.
I'm pretty sure every time a hud was introduced into a community I was already a part of, it became immediately divisive. There's always one person who uses it as a tool to force everyone into the position he wants them to be in, and now suddenly he's the star of the story or something.

Heres what I find funny. The fox is obviously wearing full space armor, but look at that tail. Now, unless that tail is fake and is just attached to the suit, then I'd be fine with it. Otherwise, that tail is a compromise in the suit and would make the entire suit pointless for space travel and environments. Only way to appease my autism in that fact is to have the tail "cased" or something, otherwise it's a furry breaking the immersion.

Their main problem is that they've started what are basically mini-faction groups for each of the playable races. The leaders of these groups get staff positions.

There's a lovely little sim i'm getting into pretty lately(or at least, trying to), called mesa 5. it's a really weird sci-fi sim and the place is oozing with lots of care and detail. It makes my computer cry tears when I first load in, but hey. whatever. They're pretty realistic, heavy sci-fi, though I cannot say much about the RP there since i'm only just trying to get started lately. I do know that they don't allow giant floaty green robots, and they have some weird in-lore reason as to why you could be a furry, a gremlin, or a damn shark. hint, it's a cop-out. "A sub species of a sub species", etc etc. I'm not much of a fan of it. the sim is really nice though, and could do with more population.

Yes Mesa5 is nice. Furries are sadly allowed, likely for the reason that any RP sim is dead if you don't allow ugly cartoon dog men.
Not that it really helps, Mesa5 is for the most part dead when it comes to RP, but at least Ifrit is still building and adding stuff so it is nice to explore and take screenshots.

It's usually because they're some DeviantArt-level Mary Sue special snowflake character, and those are no fun to play with regardless of whether they're furry or human or robot or otherwise. Has anyone tried any incest roleplay? I'm really interested to hear about your experiences. I wouldn't call it a fetish of mine but looking at it from a pragmatic pov it would make a lot of sense if you're a fan of any sexual roleplay at all.
- you get a converging point to gather around (usually a house) with the same people which allows you to chat & build a relationship outside of just sex
- you roleplay a fixed character in a relatively small scene so everyone gets to know everyone in depth, likes dislikes etc
- you have a built-in support group, someone to relax or explore with, someone you can instantly talk to as soon as you fire up SL
- you can still do other things and listen to others experience of doing other things, a sort of group stimulation to find new interests
the major downside would obviously be running into people that you don't click with or risk getting emotionally invested for a long period of time then have someone drop out and never come back which is a pretty common occurrence in SL

It's definitely a fetish of mine, but not something I'd advise getting involved with on SL, because incest = ageplay in the vast majority of setups (even the "mom fucks highschool anime protagonist son" kinda stuff you see in hentai constantly) unless it's college-age kids, at which point you might as well just be random strangers who met at a fuck club.
