My mum has one of these, it makes getting my calories laughably easy. I just made one with:

>a handful of cashews
>a blob of peanut butter
>half a tub of cottage cheese
>a few squares of melted dark chocolate
>filled it near to the top with whole milk
It was easy to get down, and there must have been almost 1000 calories in there. I make something like this whenever I've worked out but not eaten enough.
Obviously not everyone has access to a blender, but even then, if you're struggling to gain weight all you need to do is eat more calorific foods. Fruit in general isn't good for this (though it's also not that filling so you should still eat it), but I'd say bananas are an exception because there's about 100 calories in an average-sized banana and they're pretty easy to eat a lot of. Yoghurt is also great. The Sainsbury's near me sells tubs of natural yoghurt for 50p, a full tub is 500 calories and 25 grams of protein. They're plain-tasting and inoffensive, incredibly cheap, and nutritious.
