What’s up with cuckholding and comic book writers? Is there any other examples of comic characters getting cuck?

The quality of the film itself is irrelevant. I want to see trailers that make you watch them over and over and that get people excited to go see the film.

Regardless of what people thought of Suicide Squad, it had a great trailer and the box office reflected that.

I imagine it's hard to advertise the same movie over and over and over again while pretending it's not the exact same thing. Marvel movies have zero aesthetics as well.

 No.1019493

>>1019489

You could make them seem like they have. Thor Ragnarok managed that.

You could have made Infinity War's trailer melancolic and more about Thanos for example. Or the Cpt America movies like political thrillers. But they don't seem to care.

But for some reason, Disney trailers just work. I find them all shitty and the CGI cartoon movie trailers misleading (they always focus on stupid comedy, then it turns out the movie isn't at all about the fun), but for some reason they work better than Dreamwork's "honest" trailers.

 No.1019513

>>1019482

You know it's funny because almost all of those Marvel movies are also shit except that one.

 No.1019518

>>1019513

>Thor Ragnarok not being shit

It was shit, but just a different flavor that most other Marvel movies.

Comedy in it had too much juvenile humor with no thought put into it. You have to be a retard to laugh at things like alien shitting/laying eggs or portal being named Devil's Anus just when they are shoved into your face without any sort of a setup. Not to mention the 'slapstick humor' which is just people tripping, fumbling, and or get smacked in the face.

Story was also kind of lackluster. The worst part of it was Valkyrie. If she was the one to sacrifice herself in fight against Hela to make up for leaving her sisters to die in the past, it would nicely complete her character arc. Instead her story just fizzles out instead with her just tossing some mooks around. Instead, we get Karl Urban the best character in the movie just 'buying time' by leaving the ship to shoot at copy pasted minions. This was pretty pointless, since he could simply keep shooting from ship's door, keeping minions at bay, and accomplishing the same thing but without dying. Banner's thing was pretty stupid too. 'Oh no, I can't turn back into Hulk, except I actually can when I need to.'

Kirby inspired costumes and set design, and decent Thor vs Hulk fight was all that the movie had going for it.

Soviet Animation is often well-overlooked in the Animation-circles. Soiet Animation always has a surrealistic quality to it. The Hermit Nation shows itself to be just that, a hermit nation, as their animation is uniquely their own with no outside influence. I think it's time we had a thread to respect this.

Embed is a famous film, "Eine murul: The Breakfast on the Grass" made by Estonian cartoonist Prit Paarn. This was one of the first works created during the campaign of "Glasnot", in which Gorbochev allowed his civilians to critisie the government without fear. The film is a critique on the Russian-brand of Communism, but at the same time anylizes the other side of the coin – Capitalism and Materialism. (English Subtitles in caption).

Advertised as "Watership Down meets WALL·E with some feminist elements thrown in", except that the only sentient beings left are the genetically modified war animals and related kin, the man-made vehicles are presumably all wrecks, and outer space is not yet explicitly depicted.

This is not high-concept at all.

They don't watch anime or films, they watch youtube videos and read threads, and that's their incite which they feel the need to regurgitate over and over. No one posts paragraphs anymore. >Doom shareware was released on the 10th

This "panel" was just an excuse to use a university's fast internet connection to grab it from the overcrowded Usenet board wasn't it?

>He sacrificed a social life to be the greatest at his craft.

No he did not. Alex Toth sacrificed a social life to the be the greatest at his craft and he actually was. He sacrificed it so much that he drove his first wife to divorce and toward the end of his life his sons had to stage and intervention just so he would see his grandchildren. He had few, if any, close friends due to the high standards he set for himself and the high standards he held for others.

Ditko, on the other hand, didn't have a social life to sacrifice, nor did he try to be the best at his craft. Ditko was an asshole before his split with Marvel and only became worse as the years progressed. With it his work deteriorated from expression, into rigid propaganda, and finally into almost frenzied scribbles. While his contemporaries moved on to reach their artistic peaks, Ditko remained stymied in his own beliefs and unable to escape the basic superhero formula.

While Ditko did have a major impact on comics, calling him a hero is ridiculous.

Fuck, I'm not saying everyone should be held to that standard but does anyone in the west even have this kind of work ethic anymore? Comics ubermensch are what made this industry what it is today, all these little pissants running around just seems even more pathetic in comparison.
