I've been talking to the Commish about an idea for a format after this Cup actually and I may as well share the idea here, however it would only work if everyone is dedicated enough to do it and we'd need at least 2-4 reliable streamers to work throughout the year in order for the idea to succeed.
Basically it would be akin to Champions League mixed with that of a North American sports league playoff system. Assuming we expand /icup/ to 32 teams, we would do a round robin style regular season where two groups of teams play intergroup matches of maybe around 16 games over 9 months, 3 points for a win, 1 for a tie, 0 for a loss, and the top 8 point getter from each group advance to the playoffs which would be held in one of the 3 months of Summer and styled like Champions League where there's 2 games per round and the winner advances on aggregate.
Regular season games in order to lessen the load (as with 32 teams would total over 500 matches in 9 months, although this would be less then hosting 3 halfchan cups worth of games and would only need to stream 14-15 matches per weekend) would be 10 minutes long and Playoff Leg games would be 20 minutes long which is the length in the current rules for our coming Cup.
So essentially this would make /icup/ a year round event if we go with this style of format, however the possibility of viewer and streamer burnout exists so matches would have to be timed or we look for a different idea that satisfies what other anons want from the Cup

In terms of the suggested date that's a good goal, but until we have 95% of what we need done we should probably wait on when we'll have the event since we have no cleared streamers as of now, only a few candidates, and more promotional OC and content for the event days still need to get done.

I'm in the middle of talking to Saviour now about auditioning commentators and assigning game duties as well as looking into a Dutch streamer he's been in contact with to do a friendly, which he could do at any time since the save I posted before has exports for seven teams.
Once I can confirm information with him either he or I will inform you all about the deal-e-o.
Regardless we're still low on potential streamers and need to make sure people can run PES15, Youtube, OBS/Xsplit and either video feed or webcam the match with no lag via skype all at the same time.
Specs that prospective streamers will probably need is 8GB RAM, Mid range CPU or higher and a Mid range GPU (2GB or higher) so the GPU can handle the game for the most part.

After that Team Reps are free to add their own aesthetic and kit mods anytime before the tournament starts, which is still TBD since Dutchanon is apparently ded and I'm still waiting to get my CPU, RAM cards and a couple other things so I can actually do legit streaming and actually be more enthusiastic then my last attempt.
Objectives for now are to get your boards to make some OC and promotional material and search around for streamers and guest commentators, I've contacted Ben and Doug TenNapel personally for interest in the event as well as Hotwheels.
Also we'll need content for the event itself (matchday starting summary video, hyp machine, etc.) so look into working on stuff like that if you have a cool idea and pitch it here to everyone.

Okay since Saviour is back now we can better discuss ICUP I formatting. So this is the format I was thinking of.
Matches, par the Finals and Semis, will be 20 minutes long. The first 4 games of the 1st round will play on July 3rd, last 4 on July 4th, and the Quarter Finals on the 5th.
Semis would be on the 12th and those matches would extend to 30 minutes.
Finals would have a pre-show event (WWE, NBA, random sport of your chpice) and the final match will also be 30 minutes.
All gamedays would start at 1700UTC.
How does this sound? Are there any ideas for formatting that you guys were thinking of that could work better?

Hello everyone, so I will for sure have my PC built and geared up for this weekend, however due to some shit going on regarding a new job I may get soon I will be changing some dates around for the first Cup.
I emailed Savior a bit ago, he will talk to you all later about some things I emailed him about as well as some stuff that needs to get done before Day 1, but the new schedule for games will likely look like this.
Ro16: June 27th @1800UTC (matches will be 10 minutes now instead of 20 minutes due to time constraints and because some people on PST want some earlier gametimes)
QFs: June 28th @1700UTC
SFs: July 3rd @1800UTC
Finals: July 4th @1800UTC
So if anyone wants to make any promos and add in confirmed dates now is the time to do it.
Saviour will be organizing getting a Skype chat together soon to look into color commentators and get a schedule ready for games.
