Since I won't post here under the current rules and this quorum will be weeks from now I'm overwhelmingly likely to forget about it. I don't think that removing arbitrary rules is "just as bad" as imposing them. Furthermore, discussions and votes that provide the opportunity of imposing rules just attract control freaks.

As I said, no rules are being enforced for now. Any thread that is Vocaloid related (even if it is porn dump, loli, shota, etc.) won't be deleted, and I won't ban anyone for making it even if the current rules stay (they probably won't though).

It will be just 6 days from now. If you don't want to participate, then that's your loss. The only people who were 100% okay with the current rules (the old board owner and the "quality rule" poster) haven't made a single post in almost two months.

Salty because people might change my design without really thinking about it. (Just like the former board owner ruined the design when they changed the post colour without considering the colour composition and scheme.)

That said, I have some issues with the mikuchan designs and I urge people to think about changing the design. Too saturated colours and lack of composition being most blatant.

Download MultiMC (It's open source), then you need to begin the install process.

Click Add Instance (Top left)

Change the version to 1.7.10 then click Import Modpack

Flags are cool, but don't have the benefits of IDs (actually identifying someone, filtering). And I wouldn't expect you to use them unless many people were okay with it obviously. I don't think they are needed on all types of boards, but for a place like this I would actually prefer them personally.

I'll go ahead and give my reasons for why I think they are fine. I would be interested in why people are against them too if you care to explain.

1. Anonymity hardly exists here. Most posting is done in the upstairs/MM threads which are 99% avatarfagging anyway. It's not like it is hard to guess who is posting what anyway with how few people there are here normally. Plus several of the daily posters can already see IDs if they really want to.

2. IDs are only unique to one thread. It doesn't identify you across the entire board. I don't see it being a big deal in news/song/etc. threads since nobody would know who actually posts things unless they say who they are, the ID would just track how many posts you have made. As for the main threads, again people give away their “identity” freely anyway so I don't see the harm.

3. Filtering. This isn't a common use but one that I think is important. It is much easier to “ignore posts you don't like” if you can just turn a filter on/off as you want. There have been times when I wished this were available and I think it is a nice option to have.

4. They aren't permanent and could be turned off. As another benefit, they can make keeping track of conversations easier. That isn't always relevant but a nice thing anyway, especially when there are many people posting like during busy MM times.

TL;DR: In my opinion things would barely change and IDs offer a few benefits that would be nice to have.

The thing is that there is less people that want IDs than the ones who don't (I should have worded the question better). It's also a more delicate issue than flags, since IDs will affect all threads, including old ones.

I am neutral on the idea of IDs. To be honest I'm leaning more on the against side but it wouldn't bother me if they did get added at some point.

My biggest issue with IDs is that there have been times when people have wanted to post anonymously because they had a problem, or an issue that they wanted to bring up but also remain anonymous about it.

If IDs are implemented and someone wants to post something anonymously then their options to do so are limited.

Also some posters have occasionally had fun posting anonymously with the emoji. While it isn't that important it's still something worth taking into consideration.

If people ever want to turn the flags on/off they can put this bit of code into the "theme" section of the options menu:
