I'm having some problems with textures, which I'm not sure if I can entirely fix - picture related.
Textures will load fine, then suddenly default to low-res versions. If I go into edit mode and select the object, the texture will reload to their proper resolution, but once I unselect it, the texture will go back to low res after 3-5 seconds. (usually with a big 20-30fps drop for a second or two)
My best guess is that the client/my pc is doing some kind of texture thrashing, but I don't know why or how to prevent it.
The texture most effected is the colored specular on the bodysuit - the bodysuit is actually two pieces of clothing, upper and lower; the lower piece doesn't revert to low res as often as the upper piece.
The only effective solution I've found so far is to remove the diffuse texture from the bodysuit.
The only alternative solutions I can think of would be contacting niran and giving a bug report, or getting a better GPU.
Preferably, I wouldn't have to remove the diffuse texture; even though it's semi-transparent (15% alpha) the extra semi-transparent details do add a little bit, and alter the color.

I see Ssen is an owner of the /d/ group, however they don't seem like very much of a 'leader' for the group? They don't even really seem to contribute much to a region that isn't theirs even? Unless they are contributing behind-the-scenes, then that's cool. But still, I only see them as an officer in the group; with many of the other officers making better admins over them.
Why isn't Clix the owner/leader of the /d/ group? I would've thought that whoever owns the primary hangout for the /d/ group, should inherently be the 'leader' of sorts (see: Raz formerly, and Rahf/Sovot for /slg/); especially now that /d/ has settled in Deshima and nobody seems to have any genuine problem with Clix, I think we should elect to have them in place? the KOT is no mod, doesn't support any custom textures, has no tattoo layer, has an unfinished hud, fewer animations, no animation/rigging dummy, hasn't been updated in fuckever, and has 0 third party products. I think the rigging on the back legs is even wonkier than the BC, and the animation doesn't even loop properly in some poses.

You don't need to link your head together to do that.
To make your avatar work with rigged hair, play with the head size slider until it fits. Your jaw will pop out, and you can reposition it back in place. You can adjust the eye position with head length, eye size (for some reason this also changes depth), eye depth, and width between eyes. It will take some time, and if you don't think you can do it, you can go ahead and link the eyes to the head.
For unrigged hair, just edit the hair and stretch it to fit. There are some directional resize scripts you can drop in if you want to resize it via axis. If you have hair that's sectioned up, you can go ahead and move strands around to fit the head shape more.

Anyway, 2.0 is a decent, cheap starter kit to use as mesh body. It doesn't have as much shit as kemono and isn't compatible with system skins and clothing, but usually works with most rigged/fitted mesh clothes and has a usable amount of skins.
The M3 Venus is good for anime'ish characters and the various skins often come in sets with 2.0 compatible skins, even works for a very feminine male.
TL;DR if you want a quick anime avatar, go for it. Otherwise there might be something better out there.

Here's the texture. To really see the iridescence in action you actually need a light source shining on whatever object you put it on. A solution to this is to make small prims that act as projector lights and shine onto the object.
