I have a few but I won't be able to upload them till Tuesday.
Out Removing Hasperat
Someone make this a banner
and well fuck that is too small, here is a fix. Making these while drinking Romulan Ale isn't the best of ideas
Third and last attempt embarrassing myself for tonight.
And forgot to scale it properly.
Couldn't quite get this one to fit under the size limit, but I didn't try everything.
But if anyone wants to give it a go
i scewed it a bit, it works
Also what format are you using for text? Make it appear consistent.
was just working on mine
Well that was awkward.
Not even sure this needs a logo.
Not sure this will be wanted.
i'd rather not put it, just looks a bit pointless
Just like JewJewTrek
alright, i put it in here
also, if anyone is gonna make banners, please use pic related for consistency (position it however you want)
Is there a cloaked ship in that banner? :^)
New one and improved version of this one >>297
Kind of curious how this turned out.
needs more lens flare.
I think there needs to be more, you can still make out their faces.
at least make the logo visible
came out a little shitty, i'm sorry
Wonder how this turned out?
Potential Spoiler replacements.
i'm already using this one
File: 2f22718fdce5c8e⋯.gif (Spoiler Image, 2.87 MB, 300x226, 150:113, 2f22718fdce5c8efab0e9b820d….gif)
>i'm already using this one
Yes, so I observed. That's why I made the T'Pol one. So you wouldn't have to.
Okay, you're not a T'Pol fan. How about this?
But I like the worf one
When I typed that reply, it was still the regular spoiler image for me. I didn't realize it was the Worf one until I came back and it refreshed.
That said, I'm awfully proud of the way the starfleet emblem one came out. Can we use it at some point in the future?
you could make a similar one for "no file posted" and "file deleted"
The Worf spoiler would work better for that.
Sure! I'll do them this afternoon.
What's the filesize limit for banners?
up to 500kb, exactly 300x100 pixels
Tip: When in doubt, save an actual banner, erase the image, and use the blank space to compose your own.
Also, here's the logo if you need it.
I like the 3rd one a lot
non danielle version
I worked up something similar.
what's the blue shit?
It says "interesting" in Cardassian script.
My first attempt at editing and cropping and adding layers to an animated gif. The logo lost the green cause guess of palette? Using GIMP, meh.
Filesize is a bit large, but don't see option in GIMP to do anything about it, other than reduce frames?
You have done an evil thing.
Uuuh, th-thanks I guess.
filesize too big
pretty sure there's some online gif editor that lets you change the filesize
K, I'll look into it.
What's the max filesize limit?
Picard/Q one was easy to get under 500kb with ezgif.com, this was the best one anyways.
Brunt at max compression was still 600kb
TOS crew laughing reduces to 505kb at max compression, doh.
>The logo lost the green cause guess of palette?
Yes, easiest way to avoid the problem is, instead of opening the original gif with Gimp, you just create a new image and then drag the gif in it
Think all I needed to do was convert to RGB after opening the file but before importing the logo as a layer.
Tried effing with it in Fireworks, but the smallest I could get it without it being a brown blob looks like someone smeared poo across a microscope slide.
Always got to be one asshole that makes the rest of us look liek hacks, gg.
/strek/ has the best banners
Don't let it get you down. I've been a graphic designer for nearly 20 years. I learned Photoshop when it was v3.0.
Also, I only added the logo and /strek/. The rest was someone else's that I grabbed.
Not really mad, just get bored with the standard circlejerk.
>Not really mad
I didn't think you were.
Fug, don't know how I missed the file size.
Here's the source if you want to start from scratch, but now that I know what to convert though I can make throw one together in a few minutes.
>A few minutes later, here's v2 also, I clipped a few frames, fade in and out the logo, colors are right. Original filesize was still 1.6MB and running it through ezgif.com at max compression only got it down to 570KB so still need to shave some weight off it.
I had thought of doing that one too. Good thinking.
Heh. Nice /STREK/ font.
>Don't let it get you down. I've been a graphic designer for nearly 20 years. I learned Photoshop when it was v3.0.
Cool, I've been a graphic designer for maybe about a grand total of 200 hours in my life. Most of that was static graphics, these are really my first attempts at editing gifs, granted I'm using ones others created and just cropping them for banners.
Think I first pirated PS around v7, but then GIMP mostly since, and just rarely when I need to put together some lousy joke.
>Accepting banners here
Is there a limit to number of banners you can have cycling in rotation, hope we not getting close. :p
This is one is draft quality, someone might be able to improve upon my technique. The source gif was pretty low quality so a better source would help too.
Nice, Trek and gore in one shot. (pun intended)
Tweaked the fade timing a bit, this copy much better.
Nicely done, meticulous anon.
Something from the animated series.
>Is there a limit to number of banners you can have cycling in rotation
Will upload these in a day or two, computer dead because shit hard drive, and working the board via phone is a pain
t. Board nigger
Here's my new one.
Are you using fireworks or something else?
What I do is reduce the image to 300px x whatever and then I start to trim here and there from the top and bottom until I have the 100 I need. Then I add the logo and /strek/. That usually maintains the resolution quite nicely.
By the way, everyone, I made a new logo file with a bigger stroke on it if anyone needs it.
The one from here >>2341 was only an example to the other anon at how I couldn't fix it. Can you please remove it from the banner cycle until we can figure out how to fix it?
You really need to stop with all these banners anon my sides are buckling!
Engage deflector shield.
I'm using GIMP, which doesn't have anything regarding compression on the gif export options. If they were over 500KB, I tried uploading to ezgif.com and using the optimizer function to reduce filesize worked most of the time.
My workflow in GIMP has been import, convert to RGB, scale image to 300 pixel width, select a 300x100 pixel area, crop to selection. Import additional layers and edit from there. Thanks for new logo, do you mind sharing a layer of you your Star Trek font "/strek/" as well?
No problem, although if you want the typefaces for yourself, they're here for free:
I've been using "Bajoran" and "Enterprise," but there are others available.
Also, I noticed that link I posted is missing the TNG font, so here's the download for starnext.ttf
Unfortunately, it's not great for the /strek/ logo because of the slashes (buggered if I can remember what they're really called), but it will come in handy for other things. In the ones I've attached, I changed the font on the slashes to the impact.ttf font and sized them up to match.
Thanks, these are all great.
You're welcome. I'm happy to help.
well … if we're crossing memes now…
updated version, incorporated one of the newer /strek/ font logos
kek, we've got the finest banners in all of 8chan.
My sides have gone to warp.
Huh. Didn't even plan that.
Requesting your assistance again, anon.
Can you run this through your programs and see if you can get it under the 500KB limit?
1.9MB original here, best I could do was 550KB on the web tool.
Not that anon, but I took a crack at it.
K, thank you other anon! Cheers
Happy to help. Nice topic btw.
second one is great
YouTube embed. Click thumbnail to play.
This song happened to be playing when I clicked on your banner.
Is that a kid he's chasing?
thx, never seen that before, webm'd for future
>Is that a kid he's chasing?
If I say yes, does that make it more creepy for you?
I think Riker has some really sick fuck tendencies he keeps to himself, except that Diana can see right through it, and gets really moist.
YouTube embed. Click thumbnail to play.
>If I say yes, does that make it more creepy for you?
I'd like to say yes, but Riker was willing to fuck the Elephant Woman and a hermaphrodite, so I can't say I'd be surprised. I was just wondering if it was some gag being played on him with his kid in a uniform or something, like they did with Nimoy?
Damn, just spent way too much time making this.
>I'd like to say yes, but Riker was willing to fuck the Elephant Woman and a hermaphrodite, so I can't say I'd be surprised. I was just wondering if it was some gag being played on him with his kid in a uniform or something, like they did with Nimoy?
An alternate version to support your theory. We all know the Federation is a front for a massive child sex trafficking ring anyways, or they'd shutdown Quarks.
>Damn, just spent way too much time making this.
I know that feeling. Nice work.
>Damn, just spent way too much time making this.
Totally worth it, though.
So do you know what the real deal is?
Bloody hell. So I finally managed to get a decent under-500k image, but I had to increase dither in increments and rip out at least 1/3 of the frames to get there. It's not perfect, but at least it's not 300x100 diarrhea smears.
>So do you know what the real deal is?
Does anyone anymore? The current state of affairs. Blackpills all around.
The truth about Chief O'Brien and Dr. Bashir's holosuite activites, you know how they were doing the WW2 pilots thing, but nobody else is ever invited along and we never get to it? Those large flight jackets, perfect for hiding other attire worn underneath? O'Brien and Bashir were actually the founders of the station's chapter of the Ordo Templi Orientis. Once a week they would meet to partake in sexual rituals with young girls provided by Quark. O'Brien's knowledge of station operations allowed him to beam the girls directly between the cargo bay containers filled with sex slaves and the holosuite, afterwards he could delete any transporter logs, as well as generate necessary false logs to keep Odo from snooping. Think about the ramifications of this if the Star Trek community ever knew, can they be redpilled?
Thanks for the efforts.
>So do you know what the real deal is?
guess you mean't source of the clip? I tracked it down to a season 7 blu-ray outtakes extra.
>guess you mean't source of the clip?
I thought he was chasing a child, but the vid shows he's just being a kook and chasing some woman. Thanks for the clip.
I keep hearing/reading the weirdest conflicting stories about Patrick Stewart. Some say that he absolutely hated those kinds of shenanigans on set, citing his Shakespearean roots. Yet we have ample proof that he was part of several of them. An interview I read at the time TNG was airing quoted Frakes as saying they all referred to him as "Captain Pecan, the wackiest nut in the galaxy." And yet I still keep encountering the stories in documentaries like Trouble on the Bridge. Did he eventually loosen up, did he just have a lot of bad days, etc? Very strange.

> Those large flight jackets, perfect for hiding other attire worn underneath?
Like leather bondage harnesses?
>Did he eventually loosen up, did he just have a lot of bad days, etc? Very strange.
I found quite a few clips on youtube. Some good Picard goofy here.
Some clips with full camera aperture. If you're not familiar with the terminology, when content was shot on film, especially for TV content, it was common to arrange the screen composition of the scene for a smaller region within the frame. The outlying area was never intended for production use because the light entering the camera at the margins fluctuates more, and microphones and other stage equipment are usually visible outside of the scene composition.
Same clip but with 1.78 and 1.33 framing guides overlayed.
See next post for 1.33, server not letting me post several large files together.
>Like leather bondage harnesses?
Star Trek clip with door sliding opening in a corridor that could be the captain's quarters, or office. Insert clip from Blunt Talk with Stewart getting whipped.
Wasn't that in an TNG Edit?
Fuck, can't believe I misspelled Believe in the graphic, I'm slipping bad today. Mod pls delete to spare me the embarrassment. I'll fix it after coffee.
You can delete your own posts, you know.
>You can delete your own posts, you know.
I newfag hard sometimes, can't really think of many times I would say or post something that would need deleting so never bothered looking how easy it was, lol
>I newfag hard sometimes
We've all been there.
so polished up the text, added a longer delay to the frames to slow it down a little, final version of this message, maybe alternate gifs with different text later
>I newfag hard sometimes
No worries, and it's different on every board, anyway. /co/ allows it, but /pol/ doesn't, for instance.
Nice, although I'm starting to wonder if the Ferrengi media is the one we should really be worrying about.
The second "R" is for "BYOBR."
And when you gaze into the abyss…
It's partly inspired by your data visor gif.
finally got my toaster back, uploaded most of the banners
trying to keep the BLACKED shit out of here though, i'm not trying to make /tv/2
That would be better if it was Orion girls with Gorn.
>BLACKED shit out of here though, i'm not trying to make /tv/2
kek, that place is the dumps. ok i delete the post to be on the safe side, it was a more of a joke and test run for cutting out my bridge masking for inserting other gifs
I lurk quite a bit, but I don't understand whatever reference you're making.
<I know that's not how you play dubs
1488 is a space nazi thing
It's a number that Space Israel is quite fond of :^)
Dubs and a Holy Grail reference. You're OK in my book.
Goddamnit /strek/ my sides are suffering critical containment failure.
If you come across trek content too gay to be used to promote us but too gay to be ignored, then you can apply one of these…
Played with adding some logos to your stripped down version. I stripped out a few more frames from the end.
>"Good job at reading this you damn autist!"
Melllvar approves this banner.
(((STREK!))) Thank. You know, it just occurred to me to use strek in place of kek. I never did like kek, or lol for that matter.
This is a nice banner. I really like this banner.
>Played with adding some logos to your stripped down version. I stripped out a few more frames from the end.
Whoops. Missed this. It looks good, anon.
In addition to those sources, I've found this one quite good as well and using it almost exclusively now.
Lots of font options, sizing up to 200pt, transparent background.
Feck. I forgot to do some for the TOS font.
Anon, the second gif filename.
Ezri Tigan doesn't host the Dax symbiont in the mirrorverse.
>Ezri Tigan doesn't host the Dax symbiont in the mirrorverse.
Then she shouldn't have been in that episode to begin with. Horrible, horrible choice for a replacement.
Fair point, ombudsman anon. Players fuck up.
You're still a degenerate.
Look, I'm willing to grant it's degeneracy. The real question is who's going to stop me?
Seems like I'm the only one still making banners. Pathetic, but I like it.
>The real question is who's going to stop me?
Antifa. I gave them your ip address. You're in dutch now, baby.
>Seems like I'm the only one still making banners. Pathetic, but I like it.
I decided to give someone else a chance for a bit, but I've still got a couple of ideas.
And for fuck's sake, if you're going to make banners, use the proper logo. >>2481
Oh no! Not Antifag, I's sc-scared.
>Seems like I'm the only one still making banners. Pathetic, but I like it.
Your banners just seem a little too random and without context. If you've got some idea of a meme conversation to match the lips or actions, then add some text or something to spice them up. I don't mean to discourage you from submitting more, but up your game. Second one is the best, a classic scene that doesn't need any interpretation, but I'm drawing a blank from the others.
In that case, you need to up your Trek game imo. I consider all of them to be classic scenes. I have done some meme ones. The Bane hotheads one is me as well as "u waifu a shit". Frankly, memes are played out.
Despite my previous reply, I made this for you. Good job, getting me to work.
>Good job, getting me to work.
You're welcome. Much better.
do i have to? i don't like the lesbo shit.
I don't mind either way. I just made those to fuck with the faggot calling everything gay.
>What are you, gay?
Gay is politically correct in the current timeline, fuck PC banners. We want edgy, like space nazis, straight sex between cisgendereds, mccoy slapping pregnant women.
>do i have to?
Absolutely not. You're the captain, Captain. It's your ship.
Need a banner about Klingons or Sirella. They get shit done.
>straight sex between cisgendereds
Woah there Hitler.
>i don't like the lesbo shit.
where the fuck am i
Rate my Bucket-tan sketch. If there's any interest, I'll clean and color it digitally after work.
Looks like Family Goy fanart.
>where the fuck am i
Straight grils mashing their pussies together for money > two women disdaining men and falling in love and systematically torturing some little boy
I believe in constructive criticism. So, uh, go to >>>/loomis/ to help with some of finer details.
I'm more interested in what the users of this board think of the overall design. The finer details will be done digitally. If we can more or less agree on what they are. And if BO even wants a board tan.
What do you think, Legate nigger?
Can you do multiple frames and make it a true shape-shifter from the bucket?
While some may object and think a -tan is beneath a board, what purpose is there in thinking in worrying about the perceived image of a Star Trek board?
That gives me an idea for a thread someday.
I agree, the whole point is to fuck around. I don't even into anime, but the Bucket-tan idea got me creating OC after a long hiatus. And what do the detractors do? Paste the same old reaction images or pics of food and call us cancer. Fuck 'em if they can't take a joke. As far as an animated Bucket-tan, I can but prolly not for a couple days. I work 'and I'm lazy. Not the most productive combination.
A Dukat brown pill dread? That might be interesting.
I don't think of it as Ezri kissing Kira
I think of it as Nicoel Deboer kissing Nana Visitor while their coworkers leer at them, for who knows how many takes, then still awkwardly having to work together for the remainder of the show's run, while avoiding eye contact
>Anon gets trips

Bitch, why didn't abort Wesley?! /slap
>dat 3d chessboard, tho
Curious, do we happen to have a new /strek/ logo template or we still using the old one?
You have a choice of 8, I believe.
Also your 8chan logo looks pretty jagged. >>2481
Using the one from
Use the other one and scale it down. You'll be happier.
WHAT ABOUT WORF EATING THE CAKE FROM THE TNG DREAM EPISODE? "WITH MINT PEPTIDE FROSTING"
What's the filesize limit?

1080p mp4 -> avidemux -> ffmpeg -> gifsicle. I suck at optimization.
please no bully
>1080p mp4 -> avidemux -> ffmpeg -> gifsicle. I suck at optimization
Good to know, I've used avidemux quite a bit making rips in the past.
>ffmpeg can do gif compression pretty well:
Good to know as well
Here are some logos that I thought looked cool.
thanks. used these with gif attached.
ya, i tried using ffmpeg's palettegen but for some reason it literally doubles the size of the files (even though they look really good). I even reduced the colors using max_colors options but the files are still too large and look worse than gifsicle's color options. I had the same problem with Gimp's gif optimization. I can't actually get a reduced size file.
until i learn to into optimization properly, i think i'll just try doing simpler, shorter gifs in the future. This one was shorter than the last, but still doesnt look as good as i'd like.
You can try -gifflags transdiff (on by default, but I'm not sure about older versions).
Use paletteuse=dither=bayer (the default dithering is non-deterministic, which means that a static part of the video can be rendered differently in two consecutive frames and the difference then takes up space; the gif you posted is clearly using deterministic dithering). You can also play with the "bayer_scale" parameter of paletteuse (more info in ffmpeg doc or "ffmpeg -help filter=paletteuse")
that's a really sophisticated fake. I wonder how they do it.
>get 60s porn in the right pose
>paste on background

Guaranteed autistic debate incoming :^)
Tweaked the flag in this post
>Guaranteed autistic debate incoming
I'd claim it part of canon before Discovery
I made a Star Trek: Reecovery logo for rebranding Orville, and Ciscovery and Diversity logos for shitting on Discovery. Meme responsibly if you use them, but have fun dumping them around social media if you do.
Don't examine the "T" on the Diversity logo too closely, it's embarrassingly primitive
Need more Orville images with /strek/ logos and Star Trek banners then.
-gifflags doesn't seem to make a difference. I used ffmpeg on OS X El Capitan installed through Homebrew. I'm pretty sure its current. paletteuse=dither=bayer did shrink the gifs a bit, but not nearly enough. I'll experiment with bayer_scale and research more in the future. I only did a few shallow google searches on optimization, so far. Thanks for your help.
Yeah, there's no magic way to save space. It's combination of reducing number of colors until it starts getting ugly, using deterministic dithering, dropping frames, getting most of the image to be as still as possible. Am trying to get ffmpeg to work with vidstab, that could save a lot of space.
Got it. Shrank the size by 25%, that's not too bad. Would look better if it focused on the background instead, but then the results probably wouldn't be as good.
We needed an animated version of this. If anyone can improve the quality, please do so!
It's a bit annoying that there are so many emblems but so few actual flags.
maybe give your /strek/ logos a few pixels of padding so they can breathe? happy little logos
looks like your aspect ratio went awry somewhere in your process. I'll try to rebuild this one for you at some point, if someone else doesn't do it first. It's a good clip.
Thanks for the feedback! Do these look better?
And yeah, I had a hard time getting the Mirror Kirk one to fit in a 3:1 banner ratio. See if you can crack it!
Forgot to post the gif version of this.
That Federation Banner needing a fix.
pick one or both, /strek/
Did you use ffmpeg to get those gifs looking so good?
>Did you use ffmpeg to get those gifs looking so good?
As much as possible. However, I edit the source clips down to individual shots with avidemux first, though, because I need a UI for that and save as x265 with high settings (around cfr 10). I save the raw shots and then copy them to a new folder for a particular version i want to work on and re-assemble them using the Append feature in avidemux - adding the logos and text graphics (edited in Gimp) using the filter in avidemux. You can also stitch them together losslessly with ffmpeg, though, but i dont notice much of a quality drop and sometimes its wonky - so avidemux works.
the conversion to .gif happens with ffmpeg. Anon helped set me in the right direction with some useful options >>6358 and >>6402 and >>7533. I first generate a 256-color palette on the assembled mp4 with ffmpeg and then create the god-tier 24fps full-color GIF specifying the palette and using dithering as anon suggested.
Given my aspirations for true kino GIFs, it usually results in a 1MB-2MB+ file. No wookie for /strek/ banner. So, i copy the whole thing again to a separate folder and re-run the ffmpeg-palette-dither deal, but this time making versions using "-r 12", "-r 10", "-r 8" which creates different framerate GIFs from the original assembled mp4 (not the 24fps gif).
Usually 10fps is the sweet spot, but some GIFs look fine at 8fps… some require 12fps to not look like ass. I then use the CLI tool "gifsicle" to apply various optimizations to reduce file size. Gifsicle also can reduce the color range as well (less ideal, but typically necessary) and it's usually here that i zero-in on the exact number of colors I can live with. If i still can't get it under 500kb, i go back to the beginning with avidemux and source and start trimming it down more, accepting that the particular banner will not be kino.
Most of the ffmpeg work can be incorporated into bash scripts if your using macOS or Loonix. This makes the process tremendously easier. I don't know how to do that with ffmpeg on Windows, though. Boot into a non-gaymer OS to realize your meme dreams, imho.
also, source is somewhat important, i think - especially if your GIFs run long like mine tend to. Once you start scaling-back the colors, artifacts become more noticable and having blurry or jaggy sauce probably just compounds it. This GIF is from a motion stabilized clip i cribbed from the tubes using youtube-dl. It could be prettier, I think, considering how short it is.
Most of my clips come from 1080p Blu-Ray x265 source. I'm going through and re-watching the entire franchise for research with an autistic fanfic project I'm working on and decided to do a GIF for each episode and movie I watch… kind of a tribute to the "stingers" at the end of MST3K episodes. Making an additional cut for a /strek/ banner is negligible additional work.
oops… this one turned out 2 pixels too tall. avidemux crop filter glitches like that sometimes, i noticed. this one is fixed.
Thanks for the detailed response!
glad i could help. I had taken my vyvanse an hour before - OCD was inevitable. glad i had something pseudo-productive to sperg out over for awhile.
>I had taken my vyvanse an hour before
I tried taking that one for a while but felt like it stayed in my system too long and cooked my brain. Advertised for a 12-hour usage, but seems like I could feel it for 16-18 hours most of the time and just mess my sleep all up, always sleep deprived, keep taking more it, become a paranoid schizophrenic.
Finally convinced to my doctor to switch me to Ritalin LA, an archaic 8-hour formulation, but balanced dose for benefits during effect while not over-taxing my brain and giving it a longer rest period between next dose. Only problem I found, was many pharmacies in my town had to special order as I was the only one on it.
I haven't used any medication in the past year though, just got tired of the shit and I still have plenty of OCD to go around. I'm still ADD as fuck, but coffee made a suitable over the counter replacement. 200mg caffeine has a similar neurological impact as 5mg Ritalin.
My sperg-out for the week has been trying to organize my hard drive contents, why the fuck do I have 18TB of storage in PC again?
I know my way around Avidemux, but could you provide a few actual examples of your ffmpeg and gifiscle commands issued in the console with flags and parameters used for a particular example?
>Romulan Ale energy drink
shits supposed to make you drunk as fuck, not make you alert
Do you know the episode with bones slapping that smug bitch? I watch that series already once a year and do not remember that one!
Season 2, Friday's Child
>I save the raw shots and then copy them to a new folder for a particular version i want to work on and re-assemble them using the Append feature in avidemux - adding the logos and text graphics (edited in Gimp) using the filter in avidemux
I find it easier to just do all the editing in the script, that way everything is automated and I can easily change anything I want and just re-run the script. Get the crop coordinates from mpv (using crop.lua), then something like
Some filters don't work well with trimmed videos, but they're rare and nothing that intermediate temp file can't solve. Using gimp/gui stuff gives you some control, but I find it very tedious.
# set property variables like duration, crop coords, seek, and then filters
ffmpeg -ss $seek -i vid -i logo -d $d -lavfi "$filters,[b]palettegen=$colors[o]" -map [o] pal.png
ffmpeg -ss $seek -i vid -i logo -i pal.png -d $d -lavfi "$filters,[b][2:v]paletteuse=bayer[o]" -map [o] a.gif
yeah, i found that i had to stay on top of my sleep hygiene or all sorts of bad things start happening in a short amount of time. I'm too old to just pop stimulants and yolo. I cycle on and off the meds as well. Partly because i don't want addiction/tolerance but also because they seriously alter my mood. ADD meds make me viable and employable and better at certain tasks, but they absolutely kill creativity for me. I just lose the desire to do a lot of the things I enjoy, like making music, escaping into video games, and spitefully lashing out at friends and family.
Once I get my scripts completed, I can post them. They contain the commands you will use. I'm still working out my process at this point. If you have any specific issues, feel free to ask or maybe we should take it to /tech/. i dunno.
I'm confused. So, I get that you can establish your trim points from mpv or any ole' media player, but how do you work out your crop coords and logo/text positioning? The only reason I still use avidemux, really, is for the GUI. I need be able to visually put the project together and preview it before i commit. If there is a quality benefit, I've considered trying to translate avidemux project scripts to my bash scripts and run it through ffmpeg instead.
>but how do you work out your crop coords and logo/text positioning
For cropping I'm using crop.lua from https://github.com/occivink/mpv-scripts (with c script-message-to crop start-crop and d vf del -1 in mpv's input.conf).
The logo positioning is easy enough with the variables that are available in the overlay filter (basic example main_w-overlay_w:main_h-overlay_h sets x and y, putting the logo in bottom right corner). And since encoding takes couple seconds, you can easily make quick corrections.
>before i commit
That's the thing. Once you have the script set up, you just need to change couple variables like file/seek/duration/crop positions, run the scripts and it's done. And you can have a bunch of presets in the script variables and swap things in $filters as you like. Finetuning may be a tad easier in proper video NLE, but you can't do it in ~1-2 minutes.
Thanks, anon, I haven't laughed this hard (with tears) in a good while.
cool… i will check out using mpv with scripts when i get a chance. It looks like it might be a more useful replacement for avidemux crop filter, actually.
another from Star Trek Klingon
framerate is kind of low though
yeah take or leave that one. i know it kinda sucks. anything with a lot of motion becomes tricky. i could try cutting it down by half, i just really like the knockout part.
Here are the rest of the Klingon gifs for now. I was originally going to caption the Gowron gifs with some lulzy nonsense, but I was frustrated with the quality on these. I blame the low-quality source video.
I kinda like the idea of leaving people wondering what Gowron is saying and why is it something about blood on knife / shit on dick?
this looks awful, i can't see shit. CSS disabled forever.
Turn the forced fucking namefag shit off you retarded monkey faggot.
it wasn't even updating for me so i just left it on
If anyone thinks they can improve the quality of these gifs, here are the WebMs I put together before I combined them and converted them to gifs.
noice. can't go wrong with cutes.
here's the Enterprise leaving spacedock to meet the Ship of Peace.
File: a2dae36fce308cf⋯.jpg (Spoiler Image, 53.05 KB, 750x480, 25:16, jennifer-lien-arrested-ind….jpg)
Hah. Now to do one with Majel Barrett or Kes!
Might be good for a before /strek/ after /strek/ type meme.
Was this actually in an episode?
a very special episode of Webster, yeah…
Not technically a banner but a small flag I feel that should be added.
thx. here's a couple quickies from st3
a few using images from recent threads
Lol, you should have used the version with the autistic eye lines for the second one.
I had initially wanted to created a Halloween banner with this little booger dressed as a bloodthirsty savage space rapist, but quickly realized holiday banners are pointless since they're just lost in the rotation. So, I made a generic banner with it instead that's good for all seasons. enjoy.
However, can't we do one of those overlays/underlays in the bottom-right that other boards like /pol/ and /b/ have sometimes? We just need to cut him out and scale him down 2/3 to 3/4 size and add the text for the meme, right? I dunno how BO is supposed to actually do it, though.
The original text I was going with was BLOOD ON MY KNIFE OR CANDY IN MY BAG but we're open to suggestions, obviously. I dunno if I'll be able to do all of this by Tuesday (or if even BO can implement it without nuking the board) so if anyone else can help out, it would be appreciated.
Should "Swole" be added to board tags?
i already did it ages ago you blind shits
Jokes on you. I don't even know what a board tag is.
This guy is a real idea man.
Listen to him.
Dunno if /strek/ is interested in CSS images like i mentioned >>10558 before, but /pol/ has a sticky up now for theirs if you want an idea of how to do them.
I was thinking a Gowron or Swolecard would be relevant. Or we could do ships. /b/ has an animated gif in their CSS, but that would probably be obnoxious, unless we just did like blinking lights on the ships or something.
write up some css and i'll put it in
last time i tried, we had a bunch of gowrons in the background and everyone was mad
>Bunch of Gowrons
yeah we prolly want to avoid tiled gowrons. we need an anon who understands how the board css works in practice because i'm having a hard time following whats going on in the /pol/ thread >>>/pol/10879610 with many different board CSS examples and code iterations being posted, and some of them being totally fucked. Probably trolling attempts.
this code seems to make sense (obviously you'll want to change the imgur link unless we want Moonman as a mascot).
/* Board background & Mascot */
background: url('https'':''//i.imgur.com/zrlszvA.gif'), #EEF2FF;
background-repeat: no-repeat, repeat;
background-attachment: fixed, fixed;
background-position: right bottom, center;
background-size: 20%, 10%;
and here's a test image
>Then The Orville
wew, I expected the last but Porthos still got me.
noice there's a Gowron lurking in the corner now. so, is this using the code i snatched from the pol thread? if this scales the images, then we can submit images that are larger than 300x300 for the CSS. It would be nice if we had a few Swolecards and some holiday images to mix it up a bit from time to time.
Here is a quick shoop that might work for css image, now that those seem to be working. Assuming BO implemented scaling correctly with the code that was posted, it shouldn't be too big. As for whether it is annoying or not, we'll just have to try it out.
I considered using that meme for a banner but once it is scaled-down and cropped it just looks like swolecrew with laserbeam eyes for no reason. if you guys really want it for a banner, maybe scale the original down first and then do dashes instead of lines? dashes are commonly used to denote line-of-sight, no?
and here is sage advice from the Swoleverse.
If these need to be edited let me know. Wasn't sure if this one was going to be too tall to read the text once the CSS scaled it down.
Should /strek/ be linked with /fit/?
i put this one in the css hours ago and i'm still stuck with gowron when i refresh
no clue if it's working or not
yeah its been working for me for hours… good job with the code. it's perfect! I'll try to do a few more if you guys want to mix it up. Some for the holidays might be cool, too.
What browser / OS are you using?
wew Oberth fag from ship thread?
i wanted to do one for each ship class. oberth was just the first one i started with, but they take longer than normal ones to find the right clips, i guess because all the moving sections of the ship and all the details like stars don't optimize well. While finding the right clip, I learned to appreciate the little cute.
Non-ship scenes like pic related are quicker and easier. I still think /strek/ needs more ships, though. Looks like we already have a Miranda class banner. Which one should I do next?
Allahu Snackbar Dominion ships.
>"Captain Pecan, the wackiest nut in the galaxy."
Out of curiosity, where did you read this interview? My search engine-fu has failed me.
this is way too big to be a banner, and a bit too busy.
if it was just 3 simple panels it would be practical to split them into into a slideshow gif with text, but the last panel is too much. And besides, it's just one faggots opinion (usually the case with the Expected / Got memes…) so why should that be a banner? Unless it's a joke and you're embedding a meme within a meme (meme-ception) like doing Expected/Got with pic related. Now that would make a good banner (i just haven't decided if it should be video or stills like these or i'd do it). That scene with the aged-up hunk Wes could also make a lulzy Chad/Virgin meme. Dunno if it would fit in a banner, though.
These are pretty good. what software do you use?
Mostly ffmpeg. I posted my complete workflow further back in the thread >>8386
Not much has changed since then, except I no longer use Gimp. I have Photoshop now and it seems to have superior animated gif support through working with the "timeline" feature.
For lighter image work I use Pixelmator on Mac. I compose some of the static png banners you see above and those attached using that. I can also do text and logos for the video with it as well as cropping to do the transparencies like Swolecard at the bottom of the screen :)
Read that whole section of the thread if you want to try to make some because a few anons gave me some good advice and suggested some alternatives. I want to replace AviDemux at some point because it's been crashing a lot but I haven't had time to learn a pro NLE or mess with the mpv scripts anon suggested.
There's a lot of things I can't do that I would like to, like basically recomposing effects shots like vid attached. I want to be able to take a still frame from a shot like this and re-layer the people moving in the background to make a seamless "perpetual" gif that (hopefully) is very easy to optimize since only those little elements are moving, and looks good too since it all comes from the same original shot. It's been my experience that ship scenes don't optimize well at all for gifs. That's why you don't see very many in the thread and a lot of the ones we have look like ass and need to be redone. Hopefully I'll be able to get around that if I git gud.
We need someone who is more familiar with DS9, Voy, and Enterprise to make high quality banners and other OC from those series. I don't know them as well and need to go through them, but again - havent had time. We're very TNG and TOS heavy at the moment.
Just don't do anything from STD and personally i could do without nuTrek movies, but I guess some strek posters dont mind those movies. Shitposting and meming on STD belongs on /startrek/ or the containment thread tbh.
I feel like a complete retard for not understanding half of that shit. I should probably put some effort into learning it sometime
been playing around with the banners.
Forgot another one
swolecrew is swell. we should get those drawfags to do some OC for us.
i should mention this one of starfleet hq from ST6 is one of my favs to do so far because it's the first one I was able to do and keep the sauce framerate of ~24fps. You can notice in the twinkling lights from the shuttles in the sky and the detail in the fog. I just wish the fog could have been seamless… but oh well.. they rarely are.
This one attached of sexy granfu Uhura doing some brown sugar seduction is also original framerate and is closer to seamless.
>i can't into
there are probably other methods using strictly windows GUI tools, for instance. Photoshop appears to have detailed settings for color, framerate, and compression so it can probably do a lot of this stuff. i just happened to have a background using command-line tools so I rely on ffmpeg heavily.
Surprised there hasn't been anyone to check these digits yet and to make SwoleC
There isn't even a dedicated Swoleverse thread yet, unless you count the one that some retard made about how to get /fit/. I've got some extra swole OC to post when i was trying to make a CSS image that will work for reaction images especially if faggots decide to fill in the text bubbles with their own text. could be meme-worthy.
>I've got some extra swole OC to post when i was trying to make a CSS image that will work for reaction images especially if faggots decide to fill in the text bubbles with their own text.
Make it swole!
The thread is up! Where is your OC anon?
good job with the thread, Satan! I just looked over my strek OC and i didn't have as many complete swole memes as I thought. It's mostly just banners I started but couldn't get under 500k, so I will have to go back and make regular gifs out of them. Will post there soon, though. Finishing a couple Riker-themed banners tonight, though.
Experimenting with Photoshop now that I have it. I like being able to mix still frames and video easily. Still figuring out the optimization, though.
shit, first one didn't loop. upload this instead.
fuck my life.. apologies. i fixed it but i must have uploaded the old one… dunno why it still let me, though.. should have complained about a dupe. Hopefully these work.
Mudd's Women could also be used for something similar.
fam i can hardly read that
I'll have another go when I can be bothered
Now to redo Remove Spoonhead banner
Back with some swolecard. photoshop still looking a bit janky compared to my ffmpeg workflow but hopefully i'll figure out the optimizations at some point.
good find, anon. which episode is this from? I've been experimenting with cinemagraphs in photoshop to try to produce what I mentioned above >>12230 and that looks like another good scene. I think we could clean-up a lot of the banners using that technique
There's also a good shot of Kirk winking at 52:35 in TMP, but my WebMConverter is encountering problems when trying to clip it.
Dont know it is just some gif I found on google or bing
back with a few inspired by the recent Troi thread
i'm sure it will turn up, dont want to have to watch all of voyager, though.
this one might be funnier, if you copied and reversed the clip of sulu turning his head and stuck the reversed one at the end so it looks like he's meeting, then bashfully avoiding chekov's sweet smile perpetually. these look good, though.
Or reversing Chekov's smile when he sees Sulu looking at him.
good clean-up on the first two. the slashes on the last one are kinda janky though.. maybe try different font size for them or creating them in separate layers layer and then moving things around so it looks tighter and more even?
I saw some anon bemoaning the dearth of DS9 banners, so I made a couple.
is it my eyes or is the aspect ratio fucked with the one with bashir on the left but normal with the one on the right? what scandalous process are anons using that is producing so many aids banners (mostly the older ones)? or is this intentional because some think that getting more of the original scene into the gif is worth it looking like all the characters have fetal alcohol syndrome? i must know the answer to these questions.
Pic is an artist's rendering of one of the many stretched banners shitting up the rotation.
You know that will get added as a banner now?
yes, that was all part of my pla- i mean… damn it, why did i post that imagine? now i've memed on myself… :/
Nothing subversive on my part. I use ezgif and can't be bothered to triangulate the ratio.
ok, swolebros… enough with the japes and insincere shitpostery. time to get serious.
and this one should be the correct one (under 500kb) as well as a few statics
Nicely done. Although it's a bit beyond my skill level, it'd be cool if some anon could shoop the fourth pic into the Mos Eisley cantina.
Happy Swolidays and Merry Christmas, friends. For any carefags, this next banner demonstrates pretty well the problems i've had with doing ship banners since the sauce video is stable for the first few seconds and then goes shaky-cam on the back end to simulate the Celsi's weapon strikes. Even the slightest bit of camera motion seems to screw up the gif compression and optimization, even when the background is mostly the blackness of space since you now have all major parts of the image changing simultaneously. Before I started doing these, i thought ships were going to be the easiest since the space background is mostly black.
My advice for anyone attempting these: look for fan-made animations which use simple textures and minimal lighting effects and get clean sauce. The slower the ship is moving, the better. The polygonal complexity of the actual CGI model doesn't matter, but the other stuff does. You also may have better luck if the ship is coming towards the camera as opposed to a fly-by. I've had better luck with front-facing shots.
and here are the bananners. The first is cut from the camera-stable portion of the vid only. I got it in under 500k at the full 256 color and 25fps will room to spare! The second is me getting greedy and trying to grab just a few more seconds from the clip (not even the whole clip) thinking surely i can if i cut the color range and fps in half. Nope. The best I could do was 9 fps and less than half the colors, just from adding like 4 seconds of what started out as a really promising bit of footage.
You can decide which to keep.
and here are some random extras.
not to turn this whole fucking thread into my noob learning blog, but i did a little research after i posted and it looks like i'll need to figure out doing image stabilization on the sauce using something like After Effects or Final Cut. This is hugely important for strek banner quality and other trek OC because the retards who made this shit couldn't keep the goddamn cameras still. The whole reason I got stalled-out on most of the cinemagraph ideas is because of these subtle movements of the camera in the scenes that fucks up how the process of making those kinds of gifs works (not to mention that it probably borks the gif optimization as well). Hopefully this information helps other anons who want to make high quality banners after i inevitably get v& by fbi or b& by BO for harassing him over the dupe banners in the rotation. Hope the info helps.
also, obligatory banner for our win :)
I tried. ffmpeg's vidstabdetect/vidstabtransform does decent job of stabilizing it, but it doesn't help as much as I'd like.
Nice work anons. /strek/ hosts the finest banners in all of 8chan.
Second one looks better.
We need a Star Trek Gym Banner.
yeah i didn't even bother with ffmpeg because i figured i'd want a gui to easily experiment with whatever points you have to feed it to reference. That still looks way too shaky for what we need. I have access to Adobe Premier and Final Cut Pro. Will see what I can do when i get a chance.
>We need a Star Trek Gym Banner
the possibilities are endless for bespoke oc in the swoleverse, but im no drawfag. post some futuristic looking gyms and maybe there is something we can do in the way that Starfleet Academy in TNG is based on a real place.
bumping to get your gay comment off the index page. stop shitting up the banner thread to get noticed, faggot.
Are you mentally challenged?
been busy the past few weeks. here are a few random statics in the meantime.
no need to insult. it's a legit concern. maybe we need a stickied QTDDTOT thread for random trek shitposting.
wrong size fams
needs to be 3 pixels wider
>Galaxy Quest would be a shitpost.
More canon here than CIScovery.
Fixed, I thought I had it properly done the first time.
Honestly haven't wanted ST:D yet, going through DS9 instead. Also GQ has a better theme than most Star Treks.
b-b-but… this isn't /gquest/
For the first one I wanted to experiment with dropping frames but slightly increasing the frame rate to compensate. I think this works for some faster, busy shots like this. The second pretty much looks terrible, but it's my attempt at pushing my current limits with regards to optimization. It's long and there are like 9 or 10 different full-motion shots. I was really happy with the extent to which I was able to trim the fat and retain the essential spirit and message of the piece, which is that Nemesis is shit and Patrick Stewart is probably a scat-lover.
We need Indian Picard.
I like how the last part looks like low-budget stop-motion fx when in reality I had to cut a shit load of frames to get this highly dynamic scene in under 500k. Also, sped up the first shot to cover-up the dropped frames. A real Branon Braga era jem. Included is the original scene for comparison. I completely forgot how awful this episode is.
My brother said "just crop it and post it at the correct resolution for a banner" but I didn't do either, I figure someone else could do that if they want, is that okay? Maybe, maybe not, I don't know.
cropped this one myself but I dunno how to add a logo.
I spilled my spaghetti
Godfuckingdamnit my sides.
Not going to use that to make a joke about the best burgers on 8chan?
I am honestly surprised this didn't happen sooner. Well done anon.
i'm starting to hate doing these in photoshop because i cant keep them from looking like shit compared to the ffmpeg banners, but i got arousing double dubs in the burger thread earlier, so here's an effort banner.
Please don't stop anon. I keep getting massive chuckles I come on here.
andorian qt hair ruffle between antennae needs to be a banner.
put this together right fast
>con fat weirdo
Did he eat Lavar Burton?
>That long pause at the start before he starts to move
Not going to lie it made me jump when he licked his lips.
>Did he eat Lavar Burton?
kek. Dornie and Kunta Kinte are flanking them on either side in the sauce (kinda rayciss tbh), but including them in the original crop would have made a banner for ants with a ton of dead space around the ham planet presumably putting everyone just outside his event horizon. I still think it turned out breddy gud despite shaving off his dome piece. I just wish there was a bit more detail since PStew has is eyes closed in the pic and everybody else looks really uncomfortable.
>Not going to lie it made me jump when he licked his lips.
yuh! i want to do more gifs that are this trixie and smooth when i git more gud with shoop.
These fan convention pics are a goldmine, though. There needs to be a Trekker thread for these greasy weirdos and sloots.
Oh fug this needs to be a reality.
>There needs to be a Trekker thread for these greasy weirdos and sloots.
I don't think we have a strong enough Swole Patrol yet to contain such autism.
Considering the amount of newfags that can't check catalog on this site I think we need the Swole Patrol more than ever.
Requestan a banner of this
In that image I thought something was mating with that starship.
By the way you can have 300x200 banners apparently. I just saw one on /vg/
is this confirmed? if so, it better be a new feature…
GENTLEMEN, I BRING YOU…
CUCK IN 300x200!
Forgot the /strek/ logo, fug.
Why not use one of these? >>6374
Would do it myself but I am being lazy
This anon isn't a fan. It would be easier to work with sauce in 4:3 for sure, but a 300x200 banner wastes too much vertical space and defeats the purpose of a banner. Then again, i'm probably suffering from the psychology of prior investment. Either way, I vote we stay with 300x100 and use stuff that doesn't fit and can be cut-out for a variety of CSS images in addition to Swolecard
Well then here's to you, faggot that hates fun.
A jew can never be human.
Did he confuse Swoleness with Gay?
>Well then here's to you, faggot that hates fun.
Don't despair, swolebro. The funnest banners would be nigh impossible at 300x200 unless the max file size was also doubled. Getting decent 300x100 gifs in under 500k is already a challenge. So, that leaves static images. But, those can can chopped up and recomposed with relative ease to fit 3:1, as you demonstrated. The limited vertical space didn't cause you to put the logo in a bad spot, but it otherwise didn't hinder you either. It's a perfectly fine banner at 300x100.
These are pretty fun to hone your basic shoop skills when you start out not having any. It's the videos that can be frustrating because of the limitations, but simply doubling vertical pixels doesn't do anything for that. Like i said about, it's the filesize limitation. I did this image chop-up fairly quickly (and it shows), but i got to experiment with a few techniques.
BO, was there a problem with the adorable Cardassian Bring Your Daughter to Work Day banner? I dont see it on the list page
There's a Cardassian bring your daughter to work banner? I've been scanning the thread and I can't see it.
this one >>21107. "Bring Your Daughter to Work" was my original idea for a tryhard with text and all that, but i got lazy.
this one >>21107 still isn't in the list. if there is a problem with it, i will re-incode it
here is another version of the last banner, but this time instead of extending the wall data is lurking behind, i tried to replace it entirely with an oversized logo. I think it looks better but you guys can pick. I want to try to get this right because i like extending a scene vertically on 4:3 sauce rather than cropping it if its practical. It's better to git gud at this than implement larger banners which is a cowardly move that swolecard would never approve of and we should remember that Wil Wheaton lives by the motto "don't ever do what swolecard would do" so we should actually seek to do exactly what swolecard would do… which is make the most of 300x100 banners, i think.
Also, here is a re-encode of the light fixture inquisitor and his daughter, in case there was a problem.
>Riker chasing down random female as she flees
So, normal episode then?
Not gonna lie, I would too. She looked cute.
more fun with background extension and oversized logos. wish i knew an easy way to match the most similar frames in order to help make seamless gifs.
OK, turned it into a banner
this one was easy to add background to and avoid cropping (i dont know why they dont just do it for every frame of the show and make the entire show 4k 16:9. I can make it widescreen and i'm a shitposter with few skills). As far as the subject matter, I was inspired by the recent std and wil wheaton banners and threads and decided to continue the theme. I realize that it may be controversial to alter the text of the original meme that is being referenced here, but I feel that correcting the grammar reflects strek's fundamental autism and is a more authentic choice. Also included is a collectable HD png image file version, suitable for memeing.
>the Federation secretly includes soy in all their replicated foods
>Federation doesn't permit crew to form
away teams to hunt alium elk on other planets
I wonder who could be behind this?
I amazed Welsey had to say anything before he got called a disappointment.
If he hadn't said anything it would have been a pleasant surprise.
If he had been aborted it would have been a pleasant surprise.
Apparently adding banners is broken at the moment. Anyone confirm?
banner harvested from the latest issue.
yeah, seems like it's broken, i can't get to the page that lets me upload banners
i was getting one of those cloudflare errors all yesterday and most of today when i went to check the banners list, even changed my vpn several times. Banner List pages for other 8chan boards were down too. The list pages are working now it seems, though.
Also, here are some new "mirror universe" themed logos for banners.
intended on using these logos for swoleverse only but it looked ok on this one compared to the others so i went with it
banner uploads working yet?
"Your session has seemingly expired: make sure cookies are enabled. You can go back to http://bannersb.8ch.net/oauth_send to re-login to banners edit."
Banners are back, remind me if i missed any, i've ignored the ones that aren't 300x100
just these last two as far as i can tell
You should have uploaded big banners while you had the chance. Chodemonkey doesn't want any fun on the site.
>/strek/ is the star trek board
well fuck me.
Slightly edited the sauce to include a hidden /strek/. Didn't really work for the banner, though so it didn't turn out as unique as i'd hoped, but whatever.
The previous two banners are still missing from the banner list, so including pic related, you'll need to add 3.
they were on the banner upload page, but strangely enough they weren't on the public banner page, go figure.
yeah, i'm still not seeing the last three on the banner list. >>23197 is the last one listed.
i can't explain it
from my point of view they're successfully uploaded, seems like codemonkey fucked something up
well that's a gay trick. glad you solved the mystery bo. So, they no use banners.8ch.net anymore but it persists. This could be because of the caching shit that 8chan does (Alacrity daemon) but I don't really know what i'm talking about i struggle to even shitpost correctly because autism
another one that i gave up on till i got better at ps. i was originally going to use the gif that gets passed around but upon inspection it would appear that the anon who made it did some lame cropping that slices off a portion the doc's immaculate hips. The overall edit is fantastic though and i felt it was important to preserve this as much as possible (and duplicate the reverse-loop) in order to do justice to the spirit of Gates' performance in this pivotal scene from Naked Now.
So, I went back to bluray sauce and rebuilt it from scratch with a non-retarded crop. What you see here is the original and the new gif i made. The original still seems a bit smoother and i think there are a few more frames, so i'm going to go back and revisit this one again when i get better shoop skills. I want to stop Beverly's thumb from moving and delete the top of the terminal screen that distracts from her elegant motions.
and here is the banner version. same technique as the others above with extending the background instead of cropping more.
1 pixel too much fam
i sat on this one for awhile because i originally wanted to do some lightning effects on the logo, but i have to install more russian hacked adobe software and learn a new app and it would probably be too much work anyway so i'm saving the effects for one of the Pretty banners in the pipeline (I'm sure hearts and glitter and stars will be easy). This one looks ok the way it is, i guess.
the second one with the logo, i suppose, although i disagree with the implication that Captain Kirk was a chubby chaser. Shat would only ever be with the most beautiful women - on or off screen. The second banner at least leaves open the possibility that those hands belong to Bones and Spock.
Oroville banner on /strek/, the absolute state of the fandom.
>the absolute state of the fandom
What are the dimension requirements for a flag? Looking to resize this for a Maquis flag.
i dunno but, unless my browser is lying to me, i checked several of the flags and most report back as 20x16. One was 12x16 and another 16x16.
Alright. Legate Nigger, how 'bout this as a Maquis flag?
i fall asleep everytime the maquis show up in Trek. Is their logo supposed to just be the angry maple leaf or is the light background included? It would probably look better with transparent background
kind of looks weird at that size but whatever
Eddington is a Canadian so that would make sense.
Yeah, flag dim restrictions are annoying
We need more Orville stuff.
Kind of looks odd. Might need another try?
As I am incapable of stuttering, I must conclude that you heard me.
SpikeTV used to have that scene as a bumper
Was watching Police Squad when I stumbled upon this awesome clip of Shatner. I made two versions to choose from. One with hilarious Shatner overacting or just cool Shatner.
Whoops. Forgot about the file size limit.
yeah, these need to be <500kb
How does one honestly get into making .gifs with decent quality but without the bloated filesize limit?
ffmpeg or photoshop, i go with one or the other depending on what kind of gif i'm making. The key is learning to into the optimization features of whatever you're using and then it just comes down to practice and patience because you will have to experiment with different framerates, color depths, etc. to hit your target file size with an acceptable looking gif. Also, workflow is discussed further back in the thread.
Why is that not a banner?
thought id quickly throw this together
Think you could squeeze some orville?
this kind of what you were asking for?
Nani? Do you mean more Orville banners or Orville text?
That actually looks nice
