The funny thing is that for all the worship Unrohe and other dumb commies give the demagogues on the otherside of the Iron Curtain, they utterly refuse to acknowledge the brutality of the governments that they worship.

I've known 3 families from China over my life time. One settled in a nearby town. The grandfather served in the PLA during the 50s and 60s. He fought in Korea against American forces and attends Korean War reunions where he's warmly welcomed. Time has a funny way of cooling tensions. He's valued for bringing his perspective of their war to the discussion, it's a perspective from the other side.

His war stories are pretty harrowing and highlight the cruelty of Mao and his cronies. He was one of many sent to fight against UN forces in support of the Communist Koreans. The party presented a picture of the war as such:

The Koreans had the Western forces on the ropes, but it was a long battle for them. The air war was over and now they just needed on more push to force the US led forces off of the Korean peninsula.

He boarded a train and slept most of the way there. After all, he needed his rest. He woke up in Korea to the sound of rounds smashing through the windows and walls of the traincars. These were western, probably American, ground attack fighters strafing their train. At this point, the Air War was practically over; the West had won it. Any air conflict were the final chapters of Sabre vs. MiG over the Yalu River. During this strafing run, they counted like 30 dead and a few wounded.

The Chinese did push back UN forces to a little bit past the 38th parallel before being pushed back to it into a stalemate. His experience was that this was accomplished by human wave attacks on UN forces. He described his biggest worry was tripping over the guys dying infront of him and either getting machine gunned while he was down or trampled. A lot of guys got trampled to death in these charges.

After the cease fire, the communist government welcomed them back as heroes who defeated Western imperialism in Asia and stories of heroism were going around the news cycles. He figured from day one of his return that there were two goals to the human wave attacks he'd survived. The first being its effectiveness. It did indeed push back the UN. The second was its high casualty rate. Not many guys came back from the front and usually those interviewed for propaganda purposes were rear echelon forces or guys who'd been there for a few weeks or even days before the cease fire.

Veterans of the war who had spent a good amount of time at the front were often targeted by what he called "the party police" to make sure they kept quiet about their experiences, such as guys playing dead only to surrender to UN forces.

That was just the experience of one guy who lived under Mao. He hasn't any love lost for the many and this is practically the case across the board for the Chinese. Only a dumb, pampered Westerner would look upon Mao with a positive light.

There's also Mao's cruelty and staggering incompetence that lead to the deaths of between 38-70 million people.

I think the idea behind it is that the workers of the first world aren't even proletarians, because they benefit from the exploitation of the third world in order to have high wages.

Under normal Marxism, the owners of the means of production are bourgeois because they take the surplus labor the workers produce above that needed to keep the worker alive, so the worker has a good chunk of his product taken and in return only gets the amount needed to keep him afloat. According to Marxism, the bourgeoisie therefore commit theft.

ThirdWorldism goes even further though. IIRC it's got something to do with EVERYONE in the developed West taking the surplus of third world workers, so first world workers can't even claim to be proletarian, as they are a member of an exploiter class who benefits from third world surplus labor. I think.

At any rate, ThirdWorldists are so far-left that they attack orthodox Marxists as being bourgeois. That's what a lot of the trouble is about.

I've only seen one of this guy's videos and I actually had a hard time figuring out if he was a troll.

It was about a moderately well-known satellite photo of Asia, where there are lights all over the continent but the entirety of North Korea is dark, with a solid line of lights on the SK side of the border.

First, he said it was just capitalist propaganda and the photo had been doctored. Then he said, in the same video, that it was taken during a blackout, and it wasn't a representation of what the country is really like. He also said that the blackouts happen all the time and are normal. In other words, he countered his own argument.

My cousins have cabins out deep in the north woods and they often joke about how long those militia types would actually make it. Knowing people who died even though they knew the area and had prepaired. One of my uncles and a couple of his friends nearly died one particular bad day many winters ago.
