what does /film/ think of this movie? has anyone here even seen it?

 No.5294

It's okay. I'm not deep into Harmony Korine but it might be one of his better projects.

 No.5296

I've only seen Spring Breakers and I thought that was pretty well done overall.

He's done a lot of shorts and not all of them are online. Does anyone know where to watch them? I seem them randomly pop up sometimes but it's inconsistent.

 No.5299

It's probably the most known Harmony Korine film (Spring Breakers might have taken that spot because it was more commercial).

It's not as abstract or disjointed as people say. The narrative is certainly loose, but there are a couple of plotlines and recurring motifs.

I think the standalone scenes stick out the most, though. The two kids in the cowboy getups cursing was my favorite scene.

It's interesting to watch and Harmony Korine is an interesting filmmaker, but I wouldn't say there's much depth. It's almost like a guilty pleasure. Trash Humpers is the best example. You don't watch it because it's good cinema, per se, but you just can't look away.

 No.6033

It's weird and there's a couple of interesting scenes but at the end of the movie I thought it was a waste of time.

>not appreciating the film compressed digital footage of Julien Donkey Boy
