I saw it a few days ago. I'm a Benoit Debie completist so it was nice to check on his current filming techniques. He relied primarily on stationary shots as he did with Innocence. The 3D cameras were probably too heavy to channel Zbigniew Rybczynski's trapeze act this time, but maybe the story did not require that sort of thing. I felt disadvantaged watching in 2D though; many scenes were clearly designed for a third dimension. Benoit has a cameo as a new age shaman.
The movie wasn't as impressive as past Gaspar Noe projects. His attempt to make a romance movie about physical intimacy had very mixed results. Nonactors alternated between naturalism and amateurism, undermined by emotional scenes beyond their abilities and the script's silly attempts at earnest dialogue. Gaspar should stick to style and shock over substance.
