The US president has accused Kiev of failing to account for billions of dollars in American military and financial aid
US President Donald Trump has accused Ukraine of selling American-supplied missiles on the black market, questioning the whereabouts of billions of dollars in military and financial aid provided to Kiev under his predecessor, Joe Biden.
In an interview with Newsmax aired on Thursday, Trump lashed out at Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, accusing him of exploiting Washington’s generosity, while refusing to negotiate an end to the conflict with Russia.
“Where is the cash that we gave to Ukraine? Where is all the equipment? Biden was giving them missiles, and they were being sold on the open market,” Trump said.
Russian officials have repeatedly warned that unchecked deliveries of Western weapons to Ukraine and rampant corruption in the country have resulted in a large amount of these arms ending up in the hands of organized criminal groups and extremist organizations in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America, including Mexican drug cartels.

Ukraine will resume strikes on Russia’s oil refineries, President Volodymyr Zelensky has said,while criticizing what he called a “dangerous” withdrawal of US intelligence sharing and restrictions to the Starlink satellite internet service.
The Ukrainian leader said he had halted attacks on Russian oil infrastructure for three days after the US announced a surprise “energy ceasefire” initiative. But given that Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy facilities continued, Zelensky told the Financial Times:“We’re done.”
On Thursday, Russia’s Ministry of Defense said Ukraine had attempted a large-scale attack on a Russian oil refinery in Ryazan overnight. Ukraine has not yet commented.
Also on Thursday, drones struck two chemical tankers near Romania’s Black Sea coast, setting them ablaze and raising fresh security concerns along a vital shipping route used by Ukraine. A search was underway for seven missing sailors.
The attacks are the latest in a series of strikes on commercial shipping in the western Black Sea.
Romanian President Nicusor Dan said the two ships had been struck by drones,but declined to say whether Russia was responsible, while the Reuters news agency cited a NATO military source saying the drones came from Russia.
Zelensky’s comments to the FT lay bare his growing frustration with President Donald Trump, who last week announced a controversial deal to buy Russian diesel.Trump has heaped pressure on Ukraine to stop striking Moscow’s refineriesas he works to bring down energy costs ahead of the midterm elections.
Zelensky has condemned Trump’s willingness to strike business deals with Moscow as well as the US president’s apparent admiration for Russia’s Vladimir Putin. He also told the FT that Ukrainian military officials were told by their US counterparts that “if you will not stop [the energy strikes], we will block intelligence.”
Then on Wednesday, Ukraine said Starlink had restricted some military internet services, disrupting key operations, deepening alarm both in Kyiv and among European allies.
Last week, Trump wrote on social media that Putin had agreed to supply markets with his country’s diesel fuel as the US president works to bring down energy costs. That move drew bipartisan criticism and sparked anger among European allies.
On Monday, Russian forces launched fresh attacks on Ukraine just hours after the US president stated an “energy ceasefire” had come into effect – a measure that neither Moscow nor Kyiv had publicly confirmed.
Both Russian and Ukrainian troops intensified aerial attacks on each other’s energy infrastructure in the weeks leading up to that as movements on the battlefield remain relatively stagnant.
On Thursday Putin warned there would be “consequences” if Ukraine continued to strike Russian energy, industrial and commercial infrastructure. “Yesterday, they tried to strike some oil refineries. They hit a few places, nothing too significant, but they’re continuing nonetheless,” Putin told delegates at the Delovaya Rossiya business forum via video link.
“Before taking that step, they should have thought carefully about the consequences.”
The Trump administration had warned Ukraine and allies in Europe that the US could suspend intelligence sharingand European purchases of US weapons for Kyiv if it did not halt deep strikes on Russian energy facilities.
Information sharing is invaluable to Ukrainian defense efforts against Russian ballistic missile attacks, giving the locations of missile launchers along with data on where the strikes are being directed, and when.
In the days that followed, Trump administration officials, including the president, insisted such intelligence sharing continued. But what explained the lack of missile warnings?

When asked by Kyiv for an explanation,US officials blamed the weather. But Ukrainian officials suspected it was deliberate. “America says it was a failure,” a European official told CNN. “But it can’t be the truth.”
“This will give Russians a real leverage on a frontline at the time when we effectively stopped their advances, and de-occupy the territories,” a Ukrainian official told CNN.
Defensive capabilities ‘artificially restricted’
That information deficit has been compounded by Elon Musk’s Starlink curbing some internet services in Ukraine, according to local officials. Ukrainian authorities said they were caught off-guard by restrictions on the military-grade version of Starlink, called Starshield.
A Ukrainian Defense Ministry Source told CNN on Thursday that “as of now, Starshield’s operations have resumed and are continuing.” The source added that the ministry is talking with all parties involved “to determine all the causes and circumstances of yesterday’s restrictions.”
But Zelensky has indicated that some restrictions are still in place. On Thursday morning, the Ukrainian president said Russia had launched more than 850 attack drones since midnight “at a time when the speed of our defensive capabilities is being artificially restricted.”
Zelensky said earlier that Ukrainian forces use the satellite system to defend against Moscow’s jet-powered Shahed drones, and that Russia was trying to capitalize on the disruptions.
Ukraine’s top diplomat in Washington,Denys Sienik, also told CNN that Starshield speeds have improved but are not fully restored, adding, “We hope all will be resumed to the previous level.”
Kyiv has received no response from SpaceX or the Pentagon, a Ukrainian official told CNN.
Musk on Wednesday said Starshield systems are owned and controlled by the US government and that any limits on its speed or usage are up to the US military and president. He added that Starlink is a commercial service owned and controlled by SpaceX and is limited to civilian or defensive activities.
Musk said Starlink “cannot be used for offensive military action, as doing so would be inappropriate for a commercial company.”
CNN has reached out to the Pentagon for comment. A senior US official told CNN that “no such request (for restrictions) was ever made by the President.”
Zelensky has spent the past week trying to shore up support among European leaders. On Wednesday, he met Britain’s Prime Minister Andy Burnham and King Charles in London.

Washington’s diesel deal with Moscow has exposed divisions within the West over its anti-Russian stance, as the US shifts toward a more pragmatic approach, former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl has said.
US President Donald Trump announced the agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin last week, easing sanctions on Russian diesel imports until April 2027 in an effort to bring down soaring fuel prices. The move marks a departure from the Western sanctions policy imposed on Moscow since the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in February 2022.
Speaking to TASS on Friday, Kneissl described the agreement as more than a “symbolic breakthrough,” pointing to the 300,000 tons of Russian diesel expected to reach the US and global markets by November.
“The EU says that this undermines the West’s united position. However, one could also say that this marks a shift by the US toward a more pragmatic approach, while the EU continues to pursue a purely ideological line,” she stated.
The agreement has drawn criticism from European leaders attending a two-day EU summit in Brussels this week. Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis accused Trump of sidelining the bloc, telling reporters that “Trump, by doing that business with Putin, stabbed us in the back. We have to do something.”
Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev, however,welcomed the agreement, arguing that lower fuel prices were essential to Europe’s economic competitiveness.“Any step in reducing fuel prices and to guarantee our competitiveness, we appreciate,” he said.
EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas described the agreement as a “gift to Putin,”while defending Ukrainian strikes on Russian refineries. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen reaffirmed on Friday that the bloc would maintain its sanctions against Moscow despite Washington’s decision to ease restrictions on Russian diesel.
Brussels’ hardline stance contrasts with that of EU member Slovakia, which remains heavily dependent on Russian energy and has sought to maintain economic ties with Moscow.Prime Minister Robert Fico has repeatedly called for diplomacy rather than continued military support for Kiev.
The dispute has also strained relations between Washington and Kiev. Trump has repeatedly urged Vladimir Zelensky to halt Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries, blaming the attacks for pushing up global fuel prices.
Zelensky criticized the diesel agreement as a “weak decision” and accused Trump of “betrayal.” Ukraine continued targeting Russian energy facilities, including a refinery in Ryazan Region on Thursday, prompting Trump to condemn the attacks as a “disgrace.” At Friday’s summit, Zelensky sought additional financial and military assistance from European leaders but left empty-handed, with only renewed promises of support.
The confrontation comes as global diesel supplies remain under pressure from the US-Israeli war on Iran, which has severely disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
The International Energy Agency agreed on Thursday to accelerate the release of emergency oil reserves, including more than 20 million barrels of diesel, in an effort to ease shortages and bring down prices.

Ensuring the security of Russia’s border regions is a top priority for Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said.
The president made the remarks on Friday when he visited the command headquarters of Russia’s joint troops participating in the military operation against Ukraine. Putin met top military commanders and officials, including the Russian chief of the General Staff, Valery Gerasimov.
Securing the country’s border regions and creating a “buffer zone” within Ukraine remains one of the key priorities, the president said. The task is being carried out successfully by the country’s troops, he noted.
•=“Our goal is to ensure the ultimate security of Russia’s border regions for the future. And we do not seek to make this a subject of potential peace negotiations with Ukraine,”== the president said.
The full liberation of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) is another key priority for Moscow, Putin stated. Currently, roughly 10% of the DPR remains under Ukrainian control, according to the president. In Zaporozhye Region, Kiev controls some 16.5% of the territory, including the namesake capital city, he noted.
The Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), which was fully liberated last year, remains under stable Russian control, Putin noted.
The Russian military is set to continue its campaign of retaliatory long-range strikes against Kiev, the president said.The campaign comes in response to the continuing attacks on “our industrial and oil and energy facilities,” he stressed.

"All of a sudden they jumped me and I luckily had my helmet and flak jacket on and I... kept my face to the ground to try to protect my face," she said. "They just kept kicking me and kicking me," she added.
After receiving initial care in Ramallah, Levine was transferred to Israel's Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva, with doctors there saying she suffered "lacerations."
The Washington Post said Levine had been wearing a flak jacket clearly marked "Press." "We are outraged by this unwarranted attack on a journalist doing her job and urge a thorough investigation and follow-through from authorities," Matt Murray, the paper's executive editor, said in a statement.
'No mercy'
Netanyahu's office said Levine had been "allegedly assaulted," adding that the circumstances were "unclear and are under investigation." Astronomers have discovered the first-ever genuinely green star. The white dwarf, named WD J1330+6435, is located about 326 light-years away. The study, titled ‘White Dwarfs Really are White, But Few are Green, Pink or Vivid Blue,’ was published in RAS Techniques and Instruments (RASTI). Led by Dr. Mark Hollands at the University of Warwick in England the research relied on unique white dwarf spectral models.
The spectrum models werecross-referenced with observations of light spectra from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) telescope in New Mexico.
Core Finding of the Study
According to the laws of physics, a star’s color is purely a reflection of its temperature. Orange indicates a cooler temperature, while blue indicates a hotter temperature. This happens because stars act as “perfect radiators”. However, white dwarfs deviate from this pattern because of their extreme density. For instance, WD J1330+6435 is pulling in and shredding orbiting rocky planets and asteroids.
In addition, planetary debris has heavily polluted the star’s outer layers. The outer layers now contain calcium, lithium, and high concentrations of sodium. Under the intense pressure of the star’s dense helium plasma, the sodium operates as a massive sponge. Under these conditions, its absorption broadens and wipes out the orange, red, and yellow wavelengths of light. With the warm-colored light filtered out, a visible green glow remains.

Near misses occur days apart during military exercises, with one object spotted at 17,000ft – 40 times the legal height limit
Royal Air Force jets reported close encounters with two unidentified drones in British skies this year, The Telegraph can disclose.
The near misses took place days apart during simulated air combat training and an air-to-air refuelling exercise over the North Sea.
One of the mystery objects was spotted at an altitude of 17,000ft, more than 40 times the legal height limit for commercial drones.
Incident logs seen by this newspaper show that the RAF reported the sightings to police and that “multiple different external investigations” are ongoing.
The incidents occurred amid growing fears that hostile powers are using drones to spy on the West.
Weeks after the RAF sightings in February, the US armed forces were put on high alert after unidentified drones were spotted at Fort McNair, a military outpost in Washington DC where senior US government officials live.
Earlier this year, defence experts said that drones spotted over US air bases in Norfolk and Suffolk were linked to a Russian ship stationed just off the coast.
The RAF encounters also took place days before the start of the US war with Iran.
Newly disclosed incident logs reviewed by The Telegraph reveal that the first near-miss occurred on Feb 18, when an RAF Airbus Voyager tanker was refuelling a Typhoon fighter jet off Cromer, Norfolk.
The unidentified object passed so close to the tanker that its pilot instinctively ducked.
Audio recordings reviewed by investigators reveal how the Voyager’s commander reported the sighting to military controllers.
“Uh yeah, just had something go overhead of us – potential drone at one seven zero – have you got anything on your screen?” the pilot asked the RAF radar controller overseeing the refuelling exercise.
“One seven zero” is aviation code for an altitude of 17,000ft, the height at which the aircraft were flying.
The controller said he could not see the drone on radar, prompting the pilot to reply: “Okay that’s copied it was, uh, it was a pretty small uh I would say kind of size of a drone and travelling east to west literally just went straight overhead.”
‘It made me instinctively duck’
He added: “Yeah, just uh chatting to [the Typhoon being refuelled] ‘cause they also saw it uh uh kind of estimated between us about 100 to 150 feet above us directly overhead.”
In a subsequent report, the pilot said: “The proximity was such that it made me instinctively duck and was notified to ATC [air traffic control] as a drone.”
Narrative Description of Incident One
Conducting AAR with Typhoon 84 at FL160 in good VMC conditions I was the non handling pilot in the Captain's seat.
As we progressed east bound in the towline (N5324.6/E00143.9) I caught something directly in front of the aircraft and gained visual as it went past but only for a matter of seconds.
The object was black and circular in nature passing approximately 100ft - 150ft directly above the Voyager. The proximity was such that it made me instinctively duck and was notified to ATC as a drone.

The second incident occurred on Feb 23, when a Typhoon was practising dogfights with another jet and its pilot spotted a “black circular object (similar in size to a car tyre) pass directly above him”, according to a Defence Aviation Safety Occurrence Report filed immediately afterwards.
The object was said to have passed “approximately 300ft above” the Typhoon, which was operating about 30 miles off Humberside.
“I’ve got some waypoints for you, had a drone or what looked like a drone pass about two hundred feet above me at heading [easterly] direction at … 12,500 feet,” the Typhoon pilot told the radar controller monitoring the mock dogfight.
That controller was so worried by the drone sighting that he reported it to North Yorkshire Police.
Narrative Description of Incident Two
Warlord 31 was operating in 323A/B with Pirate 11 conducting DACT. Whilst setting up for the next event straight and level at 300kts & 12,000ft, Warlord 31 observed a circular black object (similar in size to a car tyre) pass directly above him.
It was assessed to be approximately 300ft above Warlord 31, tracking East in straight and level flight. Warlord 31 seperated away from the location sighted and an airprox was made to Swanick East a few minutes after the event. The RTB was conducted with NFTR.
The RAF concluded both pilots had acted appropriately, with a local investigation into the second incident finding that “as the Airprox [air proximity incident] happened off frequency and the drone did not display on radar, there were no causal factors found”.
There is no evidence linking the sightings to hostile powers. However, the reported drones were operating at an altitude far above levels reachable by most commercially available craft. Neither showed up on radar.
The near misses were recorded in RAF reports as “Voyager vs drone” and “Typhoon vs drone”. The Voyager pilot added that “upon reflection and discussion” it was impossible to “positively identify” what he had seen as a drone, and it could have been a balloon or something similar.
Any private drone operator entering the RAF’s training areas off the east coast would have to obtain prior permission from military authorities first, suggesting drones seen by the RAF pilots may have been controlled by a potentially hostile state.
Drones are normally legally barred from flying higher than 400 feet.
Three years ago a major diplomatic crisis erupted over high-altitude Chinese spy balloons drifting across the US.
One such item, thought to have been a typical balloon used for gathering weather data but fitted with extra intelligence-gathering sensors, was shot down on the orders of then-president Joe Biden.
Officials feared that Beijing had been using the balloon to gather sensitive intelligence as it drifted over US military bases. Pentagon officials later said it was not collecting information, despite having drifted from Alaska to the eastern seaboard of the US.
Surveillance campaign ‘waged with impunity’
The Kremlin has previously been accused of waging a drone surveillance campaign over military bases in the UK and Europe.
A report by the International Institute for Strategic Studies said the drone campaign occurred between August 2024 and February 2026.
It determined that the drones were likely to have been launched from the Kremlin’s so-called “shadow fleet” of oil tankers transporting sanctioned fuel.
The report’s authors concluded that Russian intelligence had waged the drone campaign “with substantial impunity... representing both a series of tactical successes for the Kremlin and a strategic failure of allied air defence”.
Incidents included drones flying low over RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk, RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire and at least two other air force bases in England which are shared by the US.
Experts who spoke to The Telegraph said the two sightings were highly unusual and that there were no immediately comparable examples of similar incidents off the east coast within a few days of each other.
The MoD was contacted for comment.

Steakholder Foods , an Israeli company, is selling fake meat and fish products in the United States under the name Perfecta. The company is not disclosing on their packaging that these products are 3D-printed items.

Wisconsin: A man from Israel was traveling with his 5-year old son when he says that Matthew Arndt, the Green Party candidate for the House of Representatives, was honking and screaming at him and was driving erratically. The unidentified man followed Matthew Arndt off of the freeway and began filming the would-be politician.
The man from Israel had a sticker on his car that read “F**K HAMAS” and featured an Israeli flag.
Arndt said that the unidentified pro-Israel man was the aggressor and targeted him for harassment. Arndt’s only regret was that his message against Israel was not delivered in a calm manner.
Mr. Arndt was reportedly arrested for misdemeanor disorderly conduct with a hate crime enhancer.
Wisconsin has adopted the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism into state law, which is used to enhance penalties for hate crimes. This definition controversial because it is ill-defined; it has raised concerns about potential impacts on free speech and political expression.
Matthew Arndt said that his statements are protected by the First Amendment.

Declassified UFO documents from the 2020s show that the US government was looking into Star Trek-style propulsion
The earliest files come from the 1940s. In 1949, for instance, the Rev Charles Barnes sent a letter to the director of the FBI about four beams of light he had seen in the sky. J Edgar Hoover thanked him for his “thoughtful communication”.
The biggest files in the latest tranche of declassified US government UFO documents come from the 2020s, when the modern day versions of Barnes were able to send the FBI shaky video of unexplained aerial phenomenon.
And the strangest file? Well, that prize goes to one that doesn’t mention aliens at all. It is, instead, the file titled “Defence Intelligence Reference Document DIA-08-1004-001”.
And what its contents show is that the US government, at least at one point, was looking into Star Trek-style warp drives.
This year President Trump put a post on social media. He ordered the secretary of war “to begin the process of identifying and releasing government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life”.
So it was that the government prepared for the declassification of hundreds of documents. Most are a chronicle of 75 years of fuzzy images, hazy recollections and, in one notable instance, seagulls confused for flying saucers.
But among these are also those files that relate to scientists’ serious attempts to understand what it would mean to carry out interstellar travel. If aliens really were to come to Earth, how could they do it? And, equally, how could humans make the journey in the other direction?
The problem is distance. If, as Einstein told us, the speed of light is also the speed limit of the universe, then it is hard to see how we will ever make it to the closest star outside of our solar system.
It is even harder to understand why aliens would do the reverse, making trips that would last many decades, just to pretend to be seagulls or put on a light show for people such as Barnes.
